Reviews (page 2 of 13)

I imagine this is what Connie Francis sounded like to people in the 50s.

i don't love the sound but adele is a killer singer and there are some certified classics. and a cure cover? one and only was my favorite song

Ortalama ya pek begenemiyorum boyle seyleri

What a warbler! Up and down and up again, gets irritating quickly. I love a good of The Cure, so hearing the superb song Lovesong being managed in such a diabolical manner was mildly infuriating. I managed to avoid this album for 15 years and only took it on in the spirit on the 1001 album challenge, I'll never listen again. Dear god please spare me from more Adele during this challenge too.

Listened previously. Expectations: Mid - Verdict: Alright - Rolling In The Deep is a great song. The big hits on this album were hits for a reason. I said on the previous Adele album on the list that this one should be on here instead and I stand by that. This is far superior to what she would go on to put out later. Most of the album is fine but the best songs hit real highs.

Adele has a fantastic voice.

Still not for me. I kind of liked I’ll be Waiting, suggested she could have gone in an Amy Winehouse direction

Guhhhhh nah I’m good

Same old, same old

Pretty relatable as far as breakup albums go. Some great piano work and vocals. I really like "Take It All". Pretty powerful tune. For the most part, I found the arrangements kind of repetitive and predictable.

This is coming from a person who has probably listened to hundreds of hours of Billy corgan singing in her lifetime…I don’t like Adele’s voice. I find it metallic and it does not evoke any emotion for me. Maybe it’s the musical equivalent to cilantro for my ears. Major meh for me.

Radio, supermarkten, televisie. Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain en Someone Like You zijn al jaren overal. Soms met een catchy refrein (I'll Be Waiting), soms heel kwetsbaar (Someone Like You). 6/10 Highlights Set Fire to the Rain

not a big fan

Not bad... obviously I skipped the first song because we've heard it ad nauseam all over the planet. Track 2 is very good! What follows is a bit simplistic, some silly ballads (Don't You Remember). Track 5 was also played to death back in the day. I had the feeling that the album gradually loses steam. The Cure cover was unnecessary. The last song is also a mega-hit that we never want to hear again.

Sorry Darren

Such a talented singer, such a boring album.

It’s alright

boring for me

4 - BAD

If you enjoy listening to the same song for 48 minutes then this album is for you!

A couple of great songs, beautiful voice but nothing spectacular for me.

ok, not as timeless as i thought it would be.

Boring

I found this album hard to finish as I’d stop it for some reason - a meal, a cry for the kid’s playlist, a work call, boredom - and when I’d return I could never remember what song I was on, all indistinguishable in their inert vibe, so I’d conscientiously go back a title I knew I’d heard at least part of, usually “Set Fire to the Rain” because while the conceit’s stupid at least it’s memorable. “He Won’t Go” mocks me. Commonplace sentiments expressed in mundane language, sung with elan, dressed in the clothes of the long dead, talent without imagination: it’s daytime soap opera, “she was only 21…” A revelation came with the numbing litany of romantic dejection, the memory of a friend who used to mutter “don’t look at me! Don’t look at me!” back when we were going out. I knew it was comedy, but I never thought how until Adele’s genuine abjection reminded me of my friend’s comic and I suddenly realised that she was imitating Dennis Hopper in “Blue Velvet”, and retrospectively our relationship has rotated by a few risky degrees - o happy memory!

I could never listen to an entire album of Adele, so I won't even try. She has the pipes to belt out soaring ballads, and she has some catchy songs for sure. I think the first time my wife and I noticed her was when Rumor Has It was getting tons of radio airplay. We were asking each other, who the hell is Uma and What Does She Have? Since then I can't help noticing Adele's baffling pronunciations on several of her hit songs. Rumor - Uma Bridge - Breej I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting but those are the ones I can recall right now.

A few things worth noting. Did she kill Gabrielle Climi's career as she sounds exactly like her. How do you butcher a Cure cover like Lovesong? What the hell was that? How's about the formula they worked up in terms of production? And the flat line horizontal dead on the stave songwriting? Do we have to get into this because I'm assuming she had a bad bust up yeah, someone's copping it between the eyes, but the songs themselves good grief! The good thing about Dimery is that you get to hear these things outside the zeitgeist heat, Cowboy Junkies was a really good example of something that has outlasted its moment and is as superb today as it back then. I'm sure i'm waaaaaaaay outside the prevailing view on this, but I know with certainty it will be forgotten.

There really are a lot of records out there, aren’t there? And this, without a shadow of a doubt, is one of them. And that’s about all I can think to say about it without swearing, spitting and gesticulating.

Music for basic, incurious people. There’s zero soul in this album as much as she tries to manufacture some

Adele is arguably the biggest wasted talent in music history. To give credit where it's due, I think that Rolling in the Deep is a great song. But after opening the album in such a strong way, everything after that is so painfully boring and generic. Adele is an unfathomably talented singer, and she clearly is a very competent songwriter and lyricist too. But she uses her skills to make such boring music that isn't even close to what she's capable of. It's like this music exists to appeal to the masses who don't think about music that deeply, since after just one or two of her songs you start to catch on pretty quickly that as impressive as they sound at first, there is a very predictable formula that she sticks to, and uses it to just churn out music that isn't meant to be listened to all that seriously.

Great Album with some really great songs. One of these albums where i cannot understand a 1 Star rating and I'm not even an Adele Fan

This is simply an amazing vocal album from start to finish.

Because she's such a classic you can forget how good she is! Such a wonderful album.

Le iba a poner 4 estrellas pero cuando tenes canciones como Set Fire to the Rain o Don’t You Remember te mereces las 5. 25 es un mejor álbum igual.

MY CHILDHOOD

That Cure cover was so good.

I listen to this album, and I'm immediately 7 years old, at my friend's house, in her bedroom, and we're dancing to this album on repeat, running up and down her room with the lights off, save for her nightlight, because we wanted to match the music's atmosphere. Or, I'm with the same friend, and we're in her parents' car on the way to the Slimbridge wildlife park, and this album is on shuffle, and we're in the back seat just excited because there's a really good play park at Slimbridge. Adele is a performer, Adele is a pillar of modern British music, there is no one in England who hasn't heard a song from this album. Maybe I'm blinded by pure nostalgia, or maybe this is just a really good album.

Bängää. Isosti. Huutolaululevy vieläkin. Ollappa 21.

This is such a classic. 10/10 ⭐️

Her masterpiece

Goud, iconisch

After only hearing the hits enough to make me never want to hear Adele again. After 10 years I’ve come to find I have a new appreciation for her that I didn’t realize earlier on. Every single song on this album feels like it could have been over played on the radio and I mean that in the best way possible. Simple but so much to grasp onto and enjoy.

So I'll admit I have a songstress crush. Let me try to tame that and review this album without acting like a forlorn little boy. Adele belts this out with class and emotion. You've got the hits that were played and overplayed on the radio, on TV, covered by people on the talent shows, everywhere. Then you've got the other songs that weren't played, that have the same emotion, the same pull, the same hit. Having not listened to the radio for quite some time, these songs still have pull. They're timeless. She DEMANDS you listen to her vent her heartache and pain onto you. And ending the album with "Someone Like You"? 🤌Perfection My Rating: 5/5

I had recently selected this record to listen to for my own curiosity, having never heard the whole from start to finish. It very much lives up to the hype. I wish I could describe the feeling I had when I first heard Rolling In The Deep. It was the first time in years I had heard something on the radio that was better than most of the music I had listened to when I was younger. We usually have a preference of music that we listened to between the ages of 12-18. For me, it was Classic Rock primarily, and that song put most of that particular genre to shame. The pounding beat and the roaring vocals impacted me in a way few songs ever did. The rest of the album is terrific , but the opening track is legendary. Truly an album everyone should hear. 5 stars

Ei yhtään huonoa biisiä, hitit bängää ja vähemmän tunnetut (etenkin I’ll Be Waiting) on vähintään yhtä hyviä. Tähän levyyn liittyy paljon hyviä muistoja, jotka varmasti nostaa tätä vielä uudelle tasolle, mut varmasti räjäyttäis edelleen pankin vaikka kuulis vasta nyt eka kertaa.

En ollu ikinä kuunnellu tätä koko levyä vaikka ihan paria vaillehan kaikki näistä biiseistä on tuttuja.

Adele is one of the best pop singers of all time and this album is her best work. I don't like most pop, but this album goes insane. Absolute cinema.

So, I have already listened to this album and also I have heard all of the songs many times. It's amazing from cover to cover. Adele has a great voice and the backing instrumentals are always amazing.

The only negative about this album is some of the best songs got next to no radio play when this album came out. The biggest songs are all a touch overplayed in my opinion, but there are still more than a few fantastic hidden gems on the 2nd half of the album that would be hit-worthy on any other album. Probably the first mega-record I remember specifically from my childhood. Top tracks: He Won't Go, Lovesong, Someone Like You

Perfection, by a 21-year-old female singer-songwriter

OMG! Have been waiting for this! One of the best albums of all time. Her voice is amazing and the songs are great. Definitely Adele's best work so far.

Classic, beautiful album

Rather brilliant.

wat een stem

I really like her voice and all except the most ballad-y of her songs.

Crucial album. Showed that if you had the talent the perseverance and the luck you could make albums not just relevant but highly lucrative. 19 did that. As did 25. All are must listen. Adele writes great songs and is not afraid to use complex harmonies, structures and adult lyrics and themes. I’d even go so far as to say this will stick around.

Just a triumph. Adele could sing the nutrition labels, and I'd be listening.

GOAT Genuinely think I have heard every song on this album before, but not actually listened through it Timeless No notes

adele I would die for you. please let me die for you

Chapeau l'artiste !!

Generational talent, god-tier singing. Im not much of an Adele fan but I gotta give props to greatness when I hear it. The album is loaded with absolute hits. I knew like half of the songs just from existing. What suprised me was how ageless the instrumentation and production is. No gimmicks, the instruments sound natural and the mixing is proportionate, focused and timeless.

Banger

Honestly still iconic and nostalgic at the same time. Reminds me of my mother, how she faired heartbreak with two toddlers on her arms. This whole album is about the female strength that keeps one going after however big of a fall. Not just musically important, but kept a whole generation alive.

No notes.

After listening to this even I miss Adele’s boyfriend.

I've really had to pour over this one and I think I came to a conclusion. The big songs off of this album are just too influential for this piece to be anything less than a 5. It was truly earth-shattering and all encompassing in pop culture for practically all of the 2010s. Outstanding work by an all-time great in the world of pop music.

She crushed it with this one

fantastic album and voice. excellent choice for this list.

Sape

Really enjoyed listening to and learning about all the musicians / producers that had a part in making this album. Somewhat familiar with Adele due to her popularity over the past 15-18 years or so and like what I know from her music. Rolling in the deep, Set fire to the rain, & He won’t go were a few standouts for me. I’ll probably visit some of Adele’s other work and will keep some of the songs from 21 in mind as good listens! Happy listening all! 🥰

No. 192 Hadn’t realised just how good this would be. Great from start to finish.

Brilliant voice brilliant album

Great one

Stellar album with many incredible songs

Someone like you is one my favorite songs. The restof the album just doesn’t hit that spot for me. Ekstra start for that last song.

always a banger, no notes.

Absolute modern classic. No skips.

This is really just terrific. Amazing voice, amazing beats, powerful lyrics. Just great!

The bedtime Adele album

very sad, very heartbroken, very 21 indeed

What's there to say about the highest selling album of the century? It's the perfect breakup album. Adele can do things with her voice that evokes the greats like Tina and Aretha could do. An underappreciated quality on this album is song order. Listening to it straight through is the path of any painful breakup: anger at your ex, anger at your supposed friends for not sticking up for you, reflection, bargaining with your ex, reflection, acceptance, and then crashing your ex's wedding to wish him well.

↑: Rolling in the Deep, Turning Tables, Don't You Remember, Set Fire to the Rain, He Won't Go, Someone Like You ↓: –

An amazing album, all the songs in it puts you in different mods Fav songs - Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, Someone Like You 5/5

Certified banger

Banger album!

We could've had it alllllllllll, rolling in the deeeeeeeeeeep 🎤🎤🎤🎤

Zeldzaam goed, lekkere nummers, echte pijn, sterke zang.

Our first 5 Star Album!

Just so beautiful.

It's been a while since I last listened to this record. Her voice is extraordinary, and her ability to put so much emotion into it is pure bliss. Production is on point.

Technique impeccable.

Forgot how good this was, some unknown songs as well

What a strong voice - even in the slower/calmer songs, her voice adds so much to the overall sound. I think this was fantastic! Some of the songs were a little too slow/calm for my liking, but she still did a wonderful job on those. I would personally give this 4.5, but I'm okay with 5.

Viva Adele.

Hermosa adele

Discazo!!

Lovely album, Adele at her very best on this one, and so nostalgic

Ok, I’ll admit it, Adele is really fucking good

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Favorites: Don't You remember Lovesong Someone Like You

Just an excuse to listen to it again I just love Adele no notes

Amo adele. Increíble voz, nunca había escuchado el álbum completo. Muy bueno

I mean come on

Even if not my genre, a clearly great album.

yea this really one of the greatest albums ever

Probably in my top 50.

Yessssssssss.

beautiful voice, very raw and filled with emotion I love it need I say anymore.

Adele so lovely jubbly only adding to main playlist thoigh

i love this lady

Slay no notes

nigger

A fantastic good album with some of my favourite songs on it like Rolling in the Deep and Turning Tables.

The bangers are still bangers, the other ones are kinda duds tho. Did really like the cover of love song tho

was not expecting this album to be on this list. absolutely thrilled it is are u kidding me never listened to all of the songs on this album. didn't expect anything other than insane talent ofc but am surprised I've never heard some of these based on how great they are. I feel like a lot of people resort to not caring because a good chunk of this album was overplayed on the radio and in grocery stores. but coming back to this album and just listening to it through, you cannot deny the talent here. dont you remember? chills @ the bridge adele may set fire to the rain but spongebob has campfires underwater favorite song: rolling in the deep

Love it

Utterly fantastic. This is an album that feels fresh and unique no matter what time I listen to it, how many times, or what ever else comes out. Adele has one of the greatest voices I've ever heard of all time, the music all comes together perfectly and the songwriting is pure art.

Masterpiece frr

Banger.

She isn’t my favorite artist but she has such an undeniably beautiful voice

Great album. Most of the songs are beautiful love songs.

What else can you say about this one. Generationally defining album with wall to wall hits and classics.

The way this album had society in a chokehold back in the day still reverberates in me because I am extremely susceptible to a lady who can absolutely belt it. Ilu Adele.

Adele’s vocal talent cannot be overstated. And, unlike 25, she flexes different stylings on 21. Upbeat jazzy numbers, slower soulful numbers, she really tried different things here. Rolling in the Deep and Rumor Has It are wonderful and leave little to wonder about how she became a phenom. Her songwriting on this album is incredible. The pain and anger come through in each track. Her feelings of betrayal and rejection are immense sources of inspiration for each track. She paints an elegant picture of loss and disappointment; that despair at knowing she’ll always love him, but she can never forgive him. This album showcases a variety of her talents. Not just singing, but her song writing and talent as pianist.

21 can be considered a modern classic. What great songs are on this album.

What a voice and what an album the sort of voice that sends tingles down your spine and some of the most remarkable songs in recent times

I forgot how great this album was! I very much enjoyed this re-listen of 21 by Adele. I can’t believe she was only 21 when this album was produced. This is an incredibly emotional and heartbreaking album and the vocals are fire. I love her powerful and sultry voice. Overall, I thought this was a very strong and soulful pop/r&b album that I would definitely listen to again in the future!

this is everything 12 was. listening to this is a reminder of having an ipod and converting the videos from youtube to add them to itunes. each song is a fond memory of being a kid and trying to understand what the songs were about but not being able to comprehend beyond the beauty of the songs being acoustically pleasing. a few years later, listening to these songs you finally understand the lyrics and really feel for 21 year old adele who actually went through all this. much wiser beyond 21, the pain and depth is crazy.

Great songwriting and great arrangement. A very unique and recognizable voice. And then there are the 7 Grammys!

Ren pop guld.

PS: Fedt fedt fedt cover af The Cure.

This album is good, I’ve never been an Adele music fan, never tried after hearing so many radio repeats, but this album was rich and full of bangers. It has to be a 5

crazy combination of wrath and anger, and the hurt that comes with it, the wishing for what could've been. absolutely a no skip album.

My inner hipster has tried to find excuses why shouldn't I give 5 stars to this pop album that has been airing everywhere for a decade, but honestly, it's a very good album and a very lovely listen. To hell with pretentiousness and French cuisine, who doesn't love a damn good burger, or, more likely in this case, damn good fish & chips? For sure I do. A damn good pop album and such a beautiful voice.

Well. This album came out when I was 6, and I grew up listening to it, so I may be slightly biased. I am the same age now as Adele was when she released this record. Adele also happens to be my mom’s favourite artist, so I have heard this album many times. Rolling in the Deep is such a classic 2010s track. It was on the radio all the time, it was played in my elementary school music class, it was everywhere and for good reason. It’s such a good track even to this day. Rumour has it was one of my least favourites as a kid, but as I’ve grown it’s honestly now one of my favourites. The lyrics are just so great. I struggle to get behind a lot of pop, but this album is almost perfect pop. Turning Tables is such a beautiful song. Again, this is one I almost always wanted to skip as a kid because I thought it was boring. I love it now. Adele has such an amazing voice that’s just meant for powerful, low BPM tracks like this one. This album is just hit after hit, lightning in a bottle. The calming guitar of Don’t you Remember mixed with her vocals just works. When that beat kicks in you know you’re in for a good time. As good as a time as a solemn breakup song can give you. Set Fire to the Rain will always be my favourite off this album. I adore this track. It’s angry, sad, and all the emotions you want out of something like this. I also learned it on piano when I was 13ish, not that I could play it now, but it’s so nostalgic for me. It’s still one that I will sing as loud as I can in the car. Following such a powerhouse of a track with He Won’t Go, is a weird choice to me. It’s not a bad track, but it falls short compared to its predecessor. I was surprised that this was the end to Side A and not the beginning of Side B, but then Take it All played and that’s definitely a Side B track one track. It’s such a powerful track, and the backing vocals are spot on. I forgot that I’ll be Waiting was on this album. It’s such a bop. The chorus is just impossible not to dance and sing along to. One and Only is another beautiful track, my only complaint is it goes on slightly too long. Lovesong isn’t my favourite, but it leads into Someone Like You, so I ignore that fact. Someone Like You is such a great piece of music. I remember it coming on while driving to my grandparents house and really only catching a few lyrics. I was obsessed with the line “born and raised in a summer haze” as I’d just started to be able to go hang out with friends at the park next to our house in the Summer. It’s obviously far from the meaning of the song, but it’s what child me picked up on. Now that I can register the lyrics, the song takes on true meaning, which makes it all the more better. It makes me feel somewhat inadequate that Adele made this masterpiece at 21, and I’m just finishing up a bachelors degree. No top album for me. 5/5 ⭐️, obviously. 64/1089

Wildly good.

This was great. I had her first album kind of early on before she became the global phenom we know her as now and I loved it and not sure why I didn't keep up. He Won't Go is a modern day Yacht Rock classic. And Someone Like You reminds me I am human which is nice.

A modern masterpiece. Albums like this don't come along very often. Adele channels heartbreak and pain into 48 minutes of crushingly good and devastatingly emotional understated neo-soul that is executed with a technical skill so precise that you don't even notice it. In a review of a Bob Dylan album some time ago I said that listening to him sing makes me feel better about my singing ability - if Bob Dylan can get that far with that voice, maybe I don't need to be so hard on myself... Not so with Adele. Adele's vocal chops at just 21 years of age are second to very few. I loved this album the first time I heard it many years ago, and I still do today. I rarely ever listen to Adele, but maybe I should.

With so much of Adele's hits in here, it's such heart-wrenching, emotional, intimate and powerful depiction of lost love.

What can you say about an album with so many absolutely perfect tracks? Not a note nor breath out of place, some say it's "too clean" or lacks soul, but I think the precision on display here is reason enough to embrace it's analog glossiness. Her voice is staggeringly powerful here, supported by songs that bolster the emotional core of the lyrics. Stripped down instrumentation, this album was the antidote to the overprocessed pop machine of the 2010s. I won't claim to be an Adele super fan, and in fact I hadn't heard this album all the way through before now, but the tubes are undeniable. People giving this album 1s and 2s are delusional. Yes, so many of these songs were radio hits, but they passed the test, I never got sick of hearing them. Singular talent for sure. 5/5 from me.

Super Dope

This album slaps. It's not going to be my favourite music to listen to, and it's not gonna make my heavy rotation, but I have to hand it to Adele. This is a near perfect album. 9/10

Otrolig känslighet och nyans i sången

Thanks Adele for going through the breakup for us. A masterpiece.

Adele – 21 (2011) On Day 65, 21 proved why it’s a modern classic. While I debated between a 4 and a 5, I ultimately couldn't deny the introspective depth and the vocal triumph of this project. The album unlocked a deep sense of empathy for Adele as she poured her emotions into the music; it’s a project that clearly has a soul and immense return value. While Someone Like You, Turning Tables, and Rolling in the Deep are the heavy hitters, He Won't Go was a personal standout for me, capturing that unacceptance side of a breakup that really showcased her emotional range. The production is immaculate and well put together, avoiding any shallow pop pitfalls. It’s a definitive 5/5.

Heartbreak, but make it cathedral-sized. Rating: 4.6/5 Short Review: This is grief with lungs. Big choruses, raw confession, zero irony. It is emotionally direct in a way that feels almost old-fashioned, and that’s why it works. Favorite Track: Turning Tables. Controlled fury. Quiet strength under all that power.

I love this album. This is a no skip album for me. Every track is good. Set Fire to the Rain and Turning Tables are my favorite tracks. Her voice is so powerful and full of emotion.

First five star rating!! This album is a perfect, no skip album. I remember when it came out, we were all so excited about Adele and her unique, incredible voice. My favorites from this are “Turning Tables,” “Set Fire To The Rain,” and “One and Only.” Also if I never hear another version of “Lovesong” again I would be content. LOVEEEEEE this whole album!!

What a great album. One of those rare albums where there is not a bad song in the bunch. Adele’s voice is in top form - she sings with such raw emotion. Don’t You Remember is one of my favorite songs but how do you pick? Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, Turning Tables, Someone Like You…so many great songs. 5 STARS!

The Best

Amazing artist, great songs, record breaking album. What is not to love?

Obviously, Adele is one of the best vocalists of this generation but the accompaniment piano, guitar, and drums compliment her performances so well throughout the album and they deserve their flowers too. 5/5

That voice, those lyrics, the feelings!

The only correct rating soz

Great one

Big choruses, big vocals, big feelings. I was thinking 4.5 but have to go with 5......you just need a hug Gary

Loved the cover of “lovesong”. Overall great album.

On a roll.

ADELE LOVEEEE Sowieso 5 sterren

Apart from the lyrics (which I rarely pay attention to), this album is carried by Adele's amazing voice. Will definitely listen again.

so good and so many bangers!

Icon, legend. One of the most roadtrip worthy albums. Favourite tracks: Turning Tables, One and Only

yeah top 10 album

Not really my jam, but there’s no denying she’s got killer pipes! The album is a bomb, so despite my lack of interest, gotta respect her success.

Easy 5

21 was an album I listened to when I was younger. So many memories and fake scenarios with this one!! Favourites: - Turning Tables: Such a powerful song. Anyways… They sung this in Glee!! - Take it All: Chills. Literal chills. - One and Only: I don’t think I need to say a reason Set Fire to the Rain: Such a classic - Rolling in the Deep: This hits absolutely everything. It was also in Glee which helps rating it highly

Amazing!! I already knew this album by heart, tho my favorite is still 19, this one is amazing. Adele is an amazing artist.

No zoning out here. Dare I need to say more? Perfection. Gurl set the world on fire for all I care.

Sang along to many of them and saved the ones I didnt have on my playlist. Great album from start to finish.

Of course not the target audience - but look, no this album could not (and for the most part nearly 15 years later) still cannot be escaped from in pop culture. Taking the mantle from Winehouse - there are very few if any weak points on this album. Is it pop replayed on radio to an annoying point, yes...is it as good as pop gets...maybe?

ICONIC

banger after banger after banger. listened while walking around welly on a saturday morning.

Adele is Amazing She’s a Very Gifted Musician 🙏🏻

Hemmer also weder mol es Albom us em 21e Johrhondert. Ond dasmol es rechtig guets. Klar rächt pop mässig, gliichziitig aber mega guet gmacht. Sehr höche Porduktionswärt, krassi Stemm ond emmer öppis neus sorged dodeför. Im 21. Johrhondert, vorallem i sim zwöite Johrzähnt hed t Azahl a verschednige musig Genres doch rächt abgno. Deför hed sech alles i Pop kanalisiert. T Songs send alli sehr typisch ufbaut, t Songs orientiered sech rächt stark a de Akkörd wo ned alli mega kreativ send. Anderi aber send wederom sehr geil. Do fallt eim öppe Someone like you ih. Was bi anderne zwar es düdlech grössers problem esch, sech bi ehre i gwössne Songs aber au zeigt, esch dass t Instrumentalisierig ond ehri Stemm sehr synchron lüüter ond liisliger wärded. Es guets biispel deför wär "Don't your remember?". Es biispel wär do öppe Rolling in the Deep. Zämegfasst also es albom voller Bangers ond wahrschiindlech eis vo de beschte Albe us de 2010er.

never not a perfect album

Epic album. 10/10. I love her debut album but I think 21 might be Adele at her absolute best. Her voice, the music, the lyrics, it’s all there for 12 songs straight.

I got 25 already on this list, and I gave it a 1. I don't think that's gonna change after this, but I did expect this one to be great because it's being carried by way stronger, more dynamic singles than she'd release in the future. It's way better than I expected. The hits are as great as ever, but I didn't expect the deep cuts to hit way harder. Turning Tables, He Won't Go, and I'll Be Waiting all caught my ears constantly, and a Lovesong cover is always a nice surprise. I'm sorry I despise 25, but I'm realizing that I should give 19 a try.

great pop album with some popculture hits

Classic 2010s album. Reminds me of when I was wee.

This is an album I like, but I didn't feel like I loved it until now. This time it hit harder, I listened to it with a different point of view from other times and it was surprising how much feeling it evokes. I specially like Adele's cover of lovesong, she gives the song her own essence and makes great work out of it

The best selling album of 2010s with 3 amazing singles. The whole album just feels nostalgic, to the nth core. Weirdly enough, I have never fully listened to the album even though I own it on CD. The vocal performance, coming from Adele is of course brilliant, in the way that you just want to listen to it for hours at a time. Voice and lyrics sipping with emotion. Actual pop music with raw feeling. Overall a fun record to listen to, especially in terms of music, and an excellent record to cry to (Someone like you hits different after a break up).

Banger after banger after banger.

that white girl can sanggggg

21 holds up because it’s built like a complete record, not just a stack of singles. The arrangements are sharp, Adele’s voice is effortless, and the album’s flow - from bright to bleak - lands every time. I want to dock one star because there are no shredding electric guitars, but I can't.

Finally an album I'm well-versed in! Top to bottom well done. Powerful vocal delivery and lyrics and production - soulful and dramatic and painful and compelling. Feels pretty timeless. If you're not singing along and doing diva hand movements, you're not enjoying this masterpiece properly.

Heyyy an album from this century! Not that I'm complaining. This is the perfect breakup album. Adele takes you through the stages of grief one experiences during a breakup through each track. Her smooth vocals (one of my favorite voices) and jazzy influences are front and center. I already had 4 songs from this album added pre-listen if that says anything about how good this album is.

I WAS SO MOVED AND SAD AND HAPPY I knew she ate but that was an experience….lovesong so good

The album that makes me start looking at karaoke machines again.

I am deeply surprised to be taken in by 21 as much. I'm not a 'poptimist'. I'm generally accepting, though. Adele broke open in me a previously-shallow pool of appreciation for popular music, into much deeper enthusiasm for not only her voice and songs, but for the possibilities of vocal, emotive, popular music in general. Despite being popular music, I can't deny that this album, despite it having a familiar taste and form (mostly a soul music template with piano, guitar, bass, drums, strings, and backing vocals, laying, stripped-down, all necessary, not-too-jazzy b for a voice), despite all the seeming normalcy about it, manages to give me chills. In fact, I know that it's the direct and no-frills nature of the chosen ensemble for 21, that gives the music and Adele's voice so much more impact. ("I don't want any 'interesting noises'", Adele would say once, when presented with an ornamented-yet-typical-for-electronic music direction during sessions with electronic duo Bassment Jaxx.) There's also her songwriting and musical direction, with subtle nods both deeply into, and out beyond the classic soul and gospel that 21 is couched in, that give life, verve, and playground for her voice. Admittedly initially dismissive, I was taken in wholly once I learned that this massive (in both sound and sales) album came from an indie label. Is there shared 'authenticity' from her recording origins on indie label XL, as well as her music itself, that gives the music more weight? I argue there is. Adele joining with a XL gave her freedom to express herself without limitations and a marketable feint to shake critics who would otherwise dismiss her soulful output as mere pop. There is a current, (social, electric, gravitational, zeitgeist?) that ebbs and flows with taste and time, but has the power to capture many hearts and minds, depending on where it flows. The current, as expressed as a tacit and fleeting agreement between artists and listeners, has always began with us human's first instrument, our voice, and next, the words and sounds we make with it. The current also rushes strongest through familiar openings: where it sounds close to what has come before. Output-wise, popular music is a behemoth industry dedicated to damming, taming, and shaping this river so that the flow goes -- current to currency -- from artists, to public ears and wallets, ensuring the river is always landing at the banks. Adele was never 'discovered'. She was already relatively popular. Despite signing at 17 years old with UK indie label XL records in 2004, at the time she had 11,000 plays on her Myspace demos. A young scout for XL, Tic Zogson, going in for a regular A&R meeting, hadn't come up with anything else to show that day besides the demos. He was reluctant because 11,000 plays was lot for an unsigned artist (especially compared to the billions of streams she would go on to command). What good is a scout who brings stale, already 'discovered' material? She was still unsigned, though, and label head, Richard Russel wanted to hear more. He went to see her perform, solo, with an acoustic guitar and they hit it off. As Russel tells it, in his autobiography 'Liberation Through Hearing', "Other record labels were showing interest in Adele but she made the decision to work with XL decisively.... The desire to work together was mutual..." "...But I had completely the wrong idea of the music Adele planned to make once she signed," Richard continues. Adele wanted to work with pop-oriented producers, which broke hard from the type of work XL was comfortable doing. XL trusted her instincts. This was Adele's authentic expression. Even though doing a pop-oriented record was a break from XL's catalog, Adele cleverly knew that aligning herself with a credible indie would in turn give her music gravity; she knew the potential of her own talents and in the hands of a label with more presaged pop-savvy, her broader voice might get diluted. "First the artist has to discover their own talent, and once they do, if it's significant it tends to become apparent to those around them."

don't you remember is fireeeee!!!! I really like he won't go, turning tables with rain sound is amazing. overall great album 9/10

What a voice. Definitely her peak. Not my normal style of music to listen to but the quality shines through. Haven’t even listened to the whole of her last album.

lovely

I mean duh. Iconic

Her talent is insane.

OBVI a great album literally so classic never deeply listened to the instrumentals before tho, rlly good

Ok I get this album's shortcomings. But just imagine that you started singing and this voice came out. It's like a superpower.

Massive talent, then and now.

fantastic

Definitely overplayed, which makes it harder for me to stay objective. But I have to admit her performance on every song is amazing, and I do genuinely like every song -- even though there are some I really don't want to hear any more, but that's pop culture's fault, not Adele's fault.

Brought me back to middle school in the best way

Loved it. Didn’t connect with the lyrics but I did connect with her power voice. I could cry. I could dance.

love adele 25 & 30, never listened to older stuff

Adele broke during my 30 year classical music only phase. I knew of her - who couldn’t? - but didn’t really know her music. This album is a banger. It hits you and demands your attention from the first track and just as you think it might be trailing off a little you get “Somebody like you” Love it

This album absolutely bangs. I’ve been sleeping on this big time. Radio hits aren’t even the good songs on this album. Loved it and will dig in to her other work

Love the album.

Song after song-brilliant!

- classic, have heard many of the well known songs off this album but not all of them - funky beats hello - Adele's voice is so emotional

almost forgot about adele until this day

A classic duhh

Enjoyed listening top to bottom & the stories and emotions she’s able to tell along w using the production to amplify her messages

Amazing voice

Love it

The finest pop album of the early part of the 10’s!

Even though we're all very familiar with Adele's powerful voice and hit-making, sing-along inspiring work, every track on 21 hits differently. The star and sustaining power of the album is Adele's voice, and whether it's the stomping rhythm of Rolling in the Deep or the quiet, beautiful acceptance of Someone Like You, the emotion oozes from every pore as her voice rises and falls. Adele pours herself into every verse, and you feel the stages of heartbreak over the course of the album. I loved her take on Lovesong, but the biggest surprise was One and Only, which ran chills through me and made this stoic guy want to exult!

Excellent follow up LP to 19. Not a bad song on it.

One of my favorite albums.

Opener and closer are all time greats. She’s a crooner for the ages.

Stunning album, love it.

No skips

This album took me back to my 20s - a time full of vigor, seesaw emotions and uncertainties. (Add to vinyl collection) Adele's voice... 🥹🥹🥹 A lyrical masterpiece.

I played this album on a loop for 12 hours once after breaking up with my long-time partner. This was the first time in 10 years I’ve heard this album. It still holds up. Adele is just one of those vocalists that can tell your whole life story in a single note.

What a classic!! I’d never listened to it in its entirety all at once…sang along and cried :) great album

Wasn't sure what to expect going into this album but it thoroughly impressed me. A true heartbreak album, He Won't Go maybe being a standout of the songs I hadn't already heard

Very nice surprise !

Great album. Her vocals are amazing and every song is a banger. Love this album.

Well starting off with a banger

Banger after banger after banger. Album that is out of this world.

Never listened all the way through, was very good.

This one is a good one

Che dire, adele al suo massimo. Ogni pezzo è incredibile, top tier di musica pop

not really my scene, but it's hard to fault this album. great voice, production, etc.

Ein sehr schönes und entspanntes Album. Leider nur 11 Songs.

classic, voice of a generation. i love love loooove Adele i adore her

This five-star rating surprised me, but it has zero skip tracks, so ::Fire::!

Absolute bloody banger. Cannot believe she made this so young. No skips straight hits. One of the strongest album starts you’ll see too. Slight dip in the middle but that’s just because either edges are so high. Specific rating - 4.8 Fav song- turning tables Least fav - I’ll be waiting

Vielleicht mein liebstes Pop album

an ultimate classic

Her best.

All 21 are exceptional.

Top ten GOAT album

Loved belting along with this one!

I just love it. It‘s a classic. Although I listened to all of the songs back then I can’t remember listening to the full album in one sitting. I just did and it’s a great listen from beginning to end. Gotta admit it’s also right up my alley. But nevertheless, Adele is an icon.

So good. Five stars

One of the best pop albums of the last few decades, if not ever. Melancholic, dramatic, and beautiful. Adele's an amazing singer, but that's not what makes this album, there are a lot of great pop singers. Its the quality of the songwriting, the on-point production, and the cohesiveness of the project that sets it apart. I'm confident in saying this will be remembered as a classic of the 2010s. PS: Shout out to the Dido-esque Cure cover near the end. I had no idea that existed, but it was very well done.

This is a pretty incredible album. I've never really been a big Adele fan in the sense that I've never purposefully listed to any her albums. I've heard plenty of the songs through radio or pop culture, but this was my first time sitting down and actually giving it a listen. The song writing is wonderful, each composition is unique, the album moves from pop-y danc-y vibes to slow piano ballads. Her voice and range are amazing and the R&B raspy-ness of her voice is special. I didn't imagine I would give this five stars, but it is a great album.

A modern classic!

Love love love. How is Adele better live that even on this album.

It’s such a basic opinion but I like Adele’s voice. And this album really broke her out huge. For me it still holds up. 5/5

Ok, I surrender Adele. Your drama used to annoy me, but you've managed to convert me in this project. Your throaty vocals have a life of their own, and your music seeps with emotion in all its catchiness. Really hard not to get wrapped up in it all. This album was really great from start to finish.

Great album, great voice. Felt like a greatest hits album

È praticamente perfetta in tutto.

amazing

Every song is excellent - amazing voice

Masterpiece

1001 Albums Challenge (23/1001) 1. Rolling In The Deep (5/5) 2. Rumour Has It (5/5) 3. Turning Tables (5/5) 4. Don't You Remember (5/5) 5. Set Fire To The Rain (5/5) 6. He Won't Go (5/5) 7. Take It All (5/5) 8. I'll Be Waiting (5/5) 9. One And Only (5/5) 10. Lovesong (5/5) 11. Someone Like You (5/5) Total (5/5)

I'm not even done listening to the album and it's getting a 5. This is perfect top to bottom. What a masterpiece.

Such a great album! Listened to it on repeat when it first came out!

This is excellent. I don't live under a rock, so I've heard many of these songs before, but together they add up to an exceptional album. I think she is so much more compelling when she isn't doing sparse sad girl piano ballads. There are a couple here, but they remain compelling rather than overwhelming, which is how i felt listening to 25. I'm giving this a 5.

Adele's 21, what a huge album. Rolling in the Deep, Set Fire to the Rain, Someone Like You, Rumour Has It, are HUGE and were all on this album. Adele has such a great "lower range" voice makes her sound so much more powerful and emotional, which perfectly suites her ballads. Of course it's a breakup album, but she is so much more fiery than the typical "woe is me, i'm so sad" style of breakup albums. Musically, there's a lot of going on as she transcends genres, ranging from almost like a doo-wop in Rumour Has It to a country (Don't You Remember) to almost like a musical sound in One and Only. A lot of range. If you're alive, it's basically impossible to have not heard the singles on this album, but it just kinda cements how insane this album is in terms of power, relateability, and reach. Great album.

She is extremely talented and deserves to be recognized as one of the best singers or best vocal range of all time

love her control with her vocals. great album-variety of tempos/styles and the blues influence is great. and her cover of The Cure's "Lovesong" is excellent.

I loved this album!

This is the first time I have listened to anything by Adele other than her hit songs, and I'm very, very impressed. Every track on this album should have been a hit, in my view.

Algjör negla. Allt saman. Gullfallegt.

I’ve been a big fan of this album since it came out. This one definitely holds up for me.

Inleder med Rolling in the Deep, avslutar med Someone Like You. Välförtjänt megahit.

The amount of talent this women has at 21 is more than 99% of the world will have in their lifetime

Wow, I had heard some songs for it before, but this was a revelation. The whole album is great.

Rating this while in the midst of re-listening because I've been a huge Adele fan for years, especially of 21 and 19. This is an incredible project. If I could be more specific with ratings, I'd give it a 4.5, but being generous with my rating for how iconic this album is and how much of a moment it had in pop music when released. Favorites: "Rolling in the Deep," "Set Fire to the Rain," and "One and Only." Total bangers. Adele is incredible, and I appreciate how authentic she has stayed to her sound, audience, songwriting and structure, and aesthetics over time - she could have easily gone another direction and did bubblegum pop for her sophomore album, but she's stuck to her "divorced middle-aged woman" pop guns throughout her career, and I love that (and her).

The is a really good album. Great songs carried by a phenomenal voice.

I know most of these signs and remember when the album came out, but I forgot how many of them absolutely slap. Her voice is amazing.

Is this the best songwriter of the 21st century? Debatable. But this album is phenomenal, and she doesn't really have a bad song on any of her albums. One of the greatest voices ever

By far my favorite Adele album. I listened to this over and over again in 2011. I love almost every song on it. I especially love Someone Like You.

A good one.

I LOVE ADELE

Obviously I knew the singles - how could I not? And they’re still brilliant. But the production, the vocals and the lyrics here are all outstanding. Brilliant album.

Classic

Brilliant. Just absolutely brilliant. Writing something this strong at age 21, the strength of her vocals. Someone Like You ranks somewhere in my favourite, most powerful songs of all time. Flawless.

love no notes

Loved one and only, and of course other big hits too. Rolling in the deep and set fire to the rain does feel a bit crafty for me. But this is largely because of too many terrible covers. The original version is full of vitality. Strangely someone like you has millions of covers as well but it’s always a perfect Adele song no matter how bad the covers are. Overall although I like 25 more than 21, it’s still a five!
