Reviews (page 8 of 8)

I’d rather get myself papercuts and drown them in vinegar than listen to this again.

Not for me

too weird

1+ Star (3/15)

There is nothing you can say that will convince me that this is good music. Even Björk herself sings in a way that sounds like she's forcing it out, like she also doesn't want to hear herself sing.

Answer me one question: wtf

More weird music for normal people. Bring back The Flying Pickets, I say.

Terrible orgy pop. I’m amazed I made it to the end

Not really a fan

Not for me. Thought I might like it as i have heard some of her music before but no, sorry.

Björk is not my thing personally.

Not a fan

yeah nawr 1/10

If I could give it less than 1 star I would.

Terrible

I have post and debut in my collection which are both great albums, this, IMO, is awful, turned off after a few songs to save my ears

Horrid

Bjork is incredibly unique. There are some songs I've really enjoyed in the past, but overall has never been my style. This album doesnt represent what I like about Bjork and I didnt recognize any songs. Her voice is also unique which is really cool, but it can go from buttery magic in one track to nails on a chalkboard on the next track. Hope to hear more Bjork down the line but I disliked this album specifically.

Not my cup of tea. Only impressed it got made, and I do not understand the acclaim.

This is probably too experimental for my mood. It's a bit jarring but there's some good songs on this album. The creativity is off the charts with the approach of each song. Enjoyability is more variable.

The concept of jurassic park has scientists, geniuses in their respective fields, create something in defiance of nature. A huge feat and worthy of praise. Bjork has always seemed an artist's artist. Genius in her field, worthy of praise. As a normal Joe though I am left wondering the JP quote "did you ever think you should" make this album. A-capella as a choice is impressive but felt like it died years ago for a reason.

Collections of random sounds set to a piano or choir.

It’s never been so hard for me to get through an album.

Sounds, not good ones

I like Bjork. I do not like Bjorkappella.

Maybe it’s because I’ve listened to more Bjork this week than my entire life, but god this sucks. Where’s the music.

There's simply no way I'm listening to this album again

Experimental and probably very accomplished. But not at all my thing. I had to fast forward some songs.

Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood but yikes idk

Album sucked lol

Too experimental for me.

NOT a fan

What the hell is this?

Is it possible to give a -1 star rating?

Awful experience, a constant head ache ... wtf is this shit considered to be music ?!

- I don't like this album - Makes me feel anxious and uncomfortable - Who Is It is the only song that is fine to listen to

Not quite sure if the presence of a drum machine caused the seizure towards the end of the album. I do appreciate the risks taken by Björk, but it didn't work out this time.

Just recently had a bjork album and it wasn’t that bad. Now my second one and I can wonder is what kind of hallucinogenic trip she went on to make this chanting noise of an album. This was pretty terrible to listen to. No thanks 1.6/10

I never thought that a cappella-based trip-hop could be so irritating. I guess it deserves praise for the production and its apparent influence, but I won't pretend that her voice doesn't grind my ears.

One of the worst albums I have ever heard, I made it though 2 songs

Very weird album

It's this music

1.5 Interesting, but not very enjoyable.

Björk lost me after The Sugarcubes. Too much of this gives me flashbacks to growing up and going to Catholic church.

Unbelievably shit

Bit too visionary for me

Ethereal, though slow and feels repetitive.

Bjork be like here’s some noises for an hour

this is the type of self important wank that Cerys Matthews gets a wide on for.

I would give this zero stars

I very much dislike her music and her squeaky voice - I find both very irritating.

not a fan

Did not finish, not my style

I liked the other Bjork album, however did not get on with this in the slightest. First tune was just wailing, skipped ahead and it was screaming. Music appears intentionally disjointed, am sure it's cool and arty but not fun to listen to at all. 1

Alex love Bjork, but I can't listen to her. It's too weird.

I am determined to make it through this album. But I am 6 tracks in and it is not easy. Closest I've come to turning an album off so far Update: I've made it. My God that was painful. Favorite track: Desired Constellation

Too avant-garde for my tastes

What a truly awful album for me. Some songs could have been ok but she puts weird sounds over them. Harmonies were obnoxious lyrics were... odd... i finally got to a semi decent track only to find my spotify went to a similar artist after the Album was done. I am now upset because I'll never get that 45 minutes and 45 seconds back.

Interesting concept, challenging listen, but overall quite an annoying experience.

Ugh. Bjork. I cannot fathom what the draw here is. There's no structure to any of these songs. They're just weird for the sake of being weird. And her warbling baby-talk voice is literally maddening. Hate it so much. In fact, I hated everything about this experience. Everything. Zero stars isn't an option, so one will have to do.

The best songs are the ones in Icelandic, because then you don't have to be burdened by understanding what she's saying (I kinda want to look up the lyrics to Desired Constellation, but I'm too young to have a stroke). Then again, they're also usually the ones where she decides to howl or something. I tried. Best track: Vakuro

There were some notes and sounds that were cool, but most of it was awful and I didn't want to hear it.

Entirely too slow and strange for me. Could barely get through one song

0/5 This is the first album I stopped listening to because it was so bad

I don't mind Bjork, but I hated this.

Achei um saco, muito chato. Todas as músicas parecem iguais, nem consegui terminar...

Siinä määrin hieno levy, että meikäläinenkin osais duunaa näin paskaa kamaa. Jäi kesken.

This was terrible. Fjork Bjork.

Didn't like this at all

like fuckin dreaful

Fuck that very much.

I'm at a loss for words. I'll keep it simple. This sucked. Like a lot of suck. A whole lot.

I bounced off this pretty hard. Not sure what this was about or who it was for.

More boring bullshit by Bjork Seriously, WTF is this and why is it on any list, let alone a list of albums you must hear. If it was on a list of albums that should be taken out back and shot, I could get behind that.

My personal disdain for Bjork is very high.

Points for being very unique. Some of the songs were an absolute no-go for me. The beatbox songs were fun.

Just more Bjork garbage. I will never understand how anyone could like her stuff. Such a shame how there's so many more talented people who don't even get a tenth of the recognition she does. 2/10.

I knew it was going to be weird... Just not sure how to listen to this. More drugs maybe?
