very cohesive sound and each song could standalone well.

You know what, fuck it, I’m giving this five stars. It’s the anti- “hotel California.” Where that song acted as a negative force dragging down the rest of the album into 1-star territory, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is good enough to round up this album to 5, even if it has some really dorky segments. Overall it’s just pure Queen! I will purchase a copy of this. Must-listen #119.

oh mamma Mia

Death on a Sunday afternoon o la psicodélica (hablamos de Queen) I´m in love with my car. You´re my best friend es un clásico.

Love this album

Difficult to put down at the start, and then finishes with one of the best songs ever written.

Great album!

# Album Name: Night at the Opera # Artist: Queen # Rating: 5/5 # Comments: Well, this is not how i know queen but WHAT an album. Really enjoyed this one. It has such a range of styles. It was an absolute pleasure to hear the band go through the different styles. To the banging solo's to the folk track of 39 and even in love with my car! The first 6 tracks are great. And the album finishes up with one of the best tracks ever in Bohemian Rhapsody. Great album. A grower for sure! # Top Tunes: Death on 2 legs / Sunday arvo / love with my car / my best friend / 39 / sweet lady / BR / Prophet song # Would I listen to it again? Yes

Amazing album. Pretty much bonkers, but the musicianship is incredible, it has enough massive hits too balance the firsts into weird genres. Just brilliant.

Flamboyant, entertaining, nostalgic, breathtaking... Queen at the start of their absolute peak. How can you fault this? (I can, and I will: the fucking song about the car) 4.7

Queens music of often too Broadway for me, but I have to go with a 5 here. The production and effort on The bands part was absolutely top notch. The playing and dynamism were both on fire through the album (even in a song as stupid as “I’m in love with my car”) which reminded me of Abbey Road in that it had a first half which included some silly songs and a sweeping medley in the second half. Ending with God Save the Queen was a nice touch too.

Obviously the hits are great, but Death On Two Legs and '39 are some great album cuts!

this is another album i obviously knew songs from but didn’t know in full. how did i forget how good queen is. this is so awesome

5 baby! Hot 5!

A trip. Bombastic, overblown, theatrical, technically stunning and innovative. Prophets Song is absolutely amazing - the Freddie solo is jaw dropping. Bohemian Rhapsody nuff said

Rock star

a little bombastic rock n roll and one of the best voices in music? All this AND Bohemian Rhapsody? Yes, please!

I mean it's A Night At The Opera by Queen idk what you want me to say

Masterpiece, as expected. 5/5

Lots of fine albums came out in 1975 (best year in Rock after '66?) & this one is near the top (Physical Graffiti being at the very top) in that magical year of living prog rock as Punk lurked about prepping for a takeover of the status quo that would fizzle out with a dull thump much as the summer of love had done a decade earlier.

hay un par de temas que desentonan con el resto del álbum, pero no deja de estar lleno de obras maestras clásicas.

What a banger, especially for someone who usually isn’t too keen on the rock from back in the day. Of course I sang along to the entirety of Bohemian Rhapsody… I mean Wayne’s World kind of instilled it in me to also bang my head to the song at just the right moment. lol

The way I see things, there are three great groups of western pop music which have that special Midas Touch where everything they touch is instantly transmuted into something valuable. The third place goes to ABBA and first place to the Beatles, leaving the second place for, of course, Queen. So 'valuable' should be taken very broadly here. All three bands have some certified stinkers - hell, even this very album has I'm in Love With My Car on it - but that's not what I'm talking about. Instead, think of it this way: if some fun could be had out of this song during a karaoke night after approximately 2-4 drinks or on a roadtrip where the bumping of the car has lulled you to a state of semi-delirious half-slumber, then it's valuable. If a song manages to leave an emotional footprint of any kind other than total tedium, it's valuable. Of course the vehicle-coveting song is stupid, but when asked about it in five years, you will surely remember it being there, or the time you and your sleep-drunk friends bellowed along to it on that aforementioned roadtrip. At their peak, Queen just couldn't create an unimpressive, forgettable song if they wanted to, regardless of the quality. I guess what I'm saying is, this album is of course imperfect. But boy, does pretty much every single one of its (many) musical ideas fill my stomach with pure joy. Every time they hit one of those four-part aaaah harmonies, I smile. Every time Freddie starts a Music Hall-esque piano rag, I smile. Every time Brian May does that high nyouuung thing on the guitar, I smile. Some music is made for pondering, chin-stroking, catharsis, bewilderment etc. etc., but this music is made for making you feel like a balloon filled with childlike excitement; and it's second to none in that regard.

Top tier album. This is a 10 of 10 album to me.

I was really excited for this album! It was camp and theatrical. Not too many big hits on it, but Bohemian Rhapsody in itself deserves all the stars Freddie was so talented, what a voice. And Brian on that guitar was 🔥 5 ⭐️

Need to do a deep dive on Queen, casually throwing bohemian Rhapsody in as the second last song on an album full of classics is insane

This is #day202 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and... it's hard to wrap your head around, but this year marks the 50th anniversary of this masterpiece. Experiencing A Night At The Opera now as part of this challenge, you can't help but appreciate the fact that Queen went into the studio with one goal: to create the best album they possibly could. They may have even surpassed themselves. The recording technologies, the wide array of instruments, and the way the musical and vocal styles blend together all contribute to the essence of this incredible record. It simply begs to be listened to on vinyl. I've always loved Queen and firmly believe Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest singers, artists, and showmen of all time... no one stands close to him. A Night At The Opera is arguably Queen's finest work, or at least their most iconic. This album feels like what happens when a band is faced with everything to gain or lose. Because what they achieved here is truly timeless. I'd go as far as to say this is the album you'd want an extraterrestrial to hear. It's a 5 out of 5, no question. Looking forward to #day203.

was a 4 before seeing bohemian rhapsody on it, absolutely loved the hypnotic rock melodies through it all

Queens of Rock.

Such a great album, whimsical, theatrical, powerful and full of Queen spirit. Amazing.

Flawless. No notes.

Have enjoyed this album dozens of listenings. Timeless and perfect every time.

That was a wonderful album, I definitely jammed through Bohemian Rhapsody and I knew a few other songs but I was surprised to hear the majority of the songs for the first time and they sounded wonderful. If this is not a 5-star album, I don't know who to give 5 stars to, so my 4.75 stars are getting upgraded to 5 stars.

Hard to give it anything else (5)

good stuff

Queen was my favorite band for a long time. They still might be. So, I already have this album. I've listened to it many times. I already know how I feel about this one. The lows: I'm In Love With My Car. It's not bad, but kinda boring, and I think "car songs" should at least make me feel like I want to drive to it, and this one doesn't. The highs: the rest of the album. They've got some weird songs sprinkled throughout, but Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon and Seaside Rendezvous are fun and exactly as long as they should be. I want to give special mention of two songs. First, the too-long-for-radio religiously themed suite incorporating multiple genres and great harmonies and vocal layering, The Prophet's Song. It's Bohemian Rhapsody, but better, and I will die on this hill. Second, '39 is my favorite Queen song. It tells a powerful story in three and a half minutes. It's a great song that hides its emotional complexity behind an interesting story and a stripped back music production.

Such talented musicians and song writers. Another precursor of orchestral rock. What else to say… 5/5

An incredibly varied album oozing creativity and musicianship. Almost no genre is left untouched - it even has a country song ('39) which don't care much about, neither do I care much about the more cabaret'esque songs (e.g. Seaside Rendezvous). With that out of the way, it is still a solid 5. Most importantly, this album has amazing prog-rock and I even spotted Caroline Shaw-like glimpses of contemporary (I mean 2020's contemporary!) vocal classical in The Prophet's Song. Of course, in Bohemian Rhapsody, most of these styles are combined within one song - and it works. Great singing by Freddie Mercury (RIP), amazing harmonies, superb guitars from Brian May. "They don't make them like this any more".

When it's Friday and I'm not in love, I go painting in the Louvre.

Positive, main character energy - everything you need to put a smile on your face. Meditation effect. I loved it, even though have never listened to their albums in order:)

Complete classic with great song 4.7

For as many hits Queen has, there is still a ton of their music I have never listened to. And this album kicks off with a kick to the teeth; Death on Two Legs (Dedicated To...) is just so good. This labum then goes off the rails for the next 40 minutes, switching fenres every other song before landing on Bohemian Rhapsody. The only real dud here is I'm In Love With My Car. And by the time its over and I'm angry that it's here, You're My Best Friend starts, and no one can be angry with that song. Probably my favorite Queen album yet.

Brian May's guitar tone is outstanding. I've never been a big Queen fan but I recognize everyone in this band is a musical genius. They have some of the best songs from the 70's. 5 stars all day.

all timer

I was in doubt whether to give this album a 4/5 or a 5/5, since there is obviously some weaker tracks on here. The sheer musicality and the memories this brings back, however, push it towards a 5/5 for me.

Honestly never remembered what album Bohemian Rhapsody was on. But what a fun journey seeing what it was written with!

Have already got this on CD and spent many happy hours listening to this during various car journeys. I often find that Queen can be hyped up and not sure if all their albums deliver in the same ways as ANATO. For me this certainly lives up to the hype and there a number of bangers on the, obviously BH, but also Death on Two Legs, love of my life and I'm in love with my car (yes, it's the drummer singing and not Freddie. But, what a voice!). I know that the prophet's song is not everybody's 'cup of tea', but I like it for its experimental edginess and, dare I say it, prog rock potential. Maybe this album is the reason that Queen are hyped up, and if so, it definitely deserves 5 stars.

One of the greatest records of all time

At first, this is a pretty ok album, some classics and some experimental stuff. Generally very enjoyable. Then, Bohemian Rhapsody turns out to be from this album. What a masterpiece of a song! One of the all time greats! It singlehandedly makes this one of the best albums of all time. The fact that it holds up and still stands strong after 50 years is very impressive!

samo hitčine pogotovo opskurnije numere, pun mi je kurac bohemske rapsodije i love of my life

For some reason, I've never really had much urge to listen to Queen albums - the Greatest Hits was alway enough for me. Having said that, I've enjoyed all 3 I've got so far. This is the best of them though, some great non-single tracks in addition to the fantastic singles.

It queen night at the opera. Not one bad song. They made a movie

everything by queen is incredible

Superb listen

One of my most played vinyl albums. I love this album, and so maybe this will be a little biased. "You're My Best Friend" was also the recessional song at my wedding. "The Prophet's Song" is, in my opinion, the most underrated Queen song. I like it more than "Bohemian Rhapsody", which is (obviously) the other favorite on the album. But I enjoy every song on the album, and every song has a role to play in the album (yes, even "I'm in Love with My Car"). The Prophet's Song is so good because I really enjoy the first section of it, and then the delay section makes me forget all about the first section I like that so much, and then it comes back so strong, that I forget all about the delay section because I like what comes after so much. It's a masterclass of a song. One of the things that impresses me most on the album is how varied each song is. Each song is unique and stands out on its own, while the album still feels very whole. I could listen to this for hours straight and not be tired of it. Favorite Song(s): The Prophet's Song, Bohemian Rhapsody, You're My Best Friend, Death on Two Legs

Overall: 9/10 This is just a classic. Filled to the brim with fun, entertaining operatic rock and roll. Freddie is one of the all time great vocalists. This is almost a 10/10 album but there's a couple songs that I don't love (why does Brian May sing on this one???). I love Queen and I always will. Fav Song: Bohemian Rhapsody Least Fav Song: Good Company

There is no possible classification for this album.

I really didn’t expect to give this anything close to 5 stars, even after first listening to it. In typical Queen style, the ratio of ‘heavyweight’ hits to more lightweight, frivolous tracks is nothing special. And sure, the must-hear credentials of the album would feel very different without Bohemian Rhapsody on the tracklist. But I’m starting to realise, as I did with Sheer Heart Attack, that the all-over-the-place-yet-somehow-cohesive ‘variety show’ aesthetic of their albums is as much as part of the appeal as the big singles. Who else could follow the bile-spitting Death On Two Legs with the absurdly quaint Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon? Despite the genre-hopping, they always sound uniquely like Queen, and I like that all four members wrote songs - it adds to the feeling of a proper, democratic ‘band’ of friends coming together to make something even greater than the sum of its notable parts. In recent months I’ve started giving more sway to the following questions when deciding my ratings: did I enjoy listening to it, and would I like to listen to it again, front to back? And in the case of A Night at the Opera, the answers are ‘yes’ and ‘yes’. 4.5

As a former band kid who used to bang their head against the back of the seat when inevitably some asshole from the saxophone section used to start singing this song on the bus ride to competitions - I used to hate Queen. I specifically used to hate Bohemian Rhapsody. I have it on a short list of songs that were taken from me by the horniest, geekiest people I have ever met along with Don't Stop Believing and Piano Man. After listening to this entire album, I felt like the Grinch who's heart grew three sizes today - I used to stand atop my soap box and and look down on those tasteless, braces wearing, sportsball repellant dorks - but you know what? After experiencing the entire album I can truly grow to appreciate it. This is really the final act of a much larger rock opera. It's truly one of the most unique albums I have ever heard and I can't imagine there being anything else quite like this anywhere else in the entire catalog of the 70s. My mind has been changed.

This album. Wow. This album is a masterclass in percussion. It has incredible vocals throughout (in every way). The layering, the background vocals especially stood out to me. The instrumentals throughout the album are varied and unique, yet maintain a similar-enough sound to stay consistent and on track with the story of the album. The outro was FANTASTIC. I enjoyed every song from this album and can’t wait to get to know it more intimately.

I loved it. It took chances on a bunch of different songs. Everything followed a theme but didn’t seem like the same 1 or 2 songs. Also, I forgot how much I love ‘39. Great album!

Another album I own a physical copy of, but this one’s all me. I’ve loved Queen since Wayne’s World came out, so of course I was excited to find this gem in the used bin for $10. Bohemian Rhapsody is the star of this album…No question, but I really enjoy 39. I’m not normally a folksy guy, but when you got a folk song about space travel with a pounding bass line like this, woo boy. A delightfully weird album with a quirky mix of musical styles that somehow all fit brilliantly together.

Quite an eclectic, entertaining mix here. I actually really liked the songs where Freddie Mercury wasn't singing: "39" and "I'm in Love With My Car", specifically. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is still a banger, and would be without Wayne's World. When it was over, I was ready to hit play again.

One of the best albums ever made by one of the most musically talented bands ever.

Let's take time to talk about this masterpiece because I'm literally crying. I'm not here to stress its historical significance or artistic achievements, but I'm speaking for myself. This album is so important to me emotionally because it was the very first rock album I've ever listened to (and the very first record I own), and it opened a whole new world to me. I used to think rock music was just loud, annoying noises, and I really did not care much about musicality- until this. This album is just so beautiful and thoughtful; I can hardly describe the astonishment I felt when I first listened to it; all I can responsibly say is that if it were not for Queen, I wouldn't be here on this website. I won't have the desire to study or even really "listen" to music. This album is one of those things that changed my life. Queen is one of those things that changed my life. It means everything to me—a complete 10/5. Years pass, and I still love this; I still love them. Also, weirdly enough, my favourite tracks are "'39" and "The Prophet's Song". I cry over "Love of My Life" every time.

Can I give this ten stars?

Fantastica

I'm not giving an album with bohemian rhapsody on it anything less than a 5

I mean it's Queen and this is the album that graced us with Bohemian Rhapsody. But it also stands on its own as an incredible concept album, bringing opera to rock.

Bohemian Rhapsody is pretty much everyone’s number 1 song of all time. It’s a sign of just how good this album is, that it doesn’t overshadow the other tracks on here. As the title of the album suggests, this is a grand performance with flourishes, arias, jokes, nostalgia and plenty of hard rock. Some people might not like the 1920s style music hall tracks or Roger’s song about being in love with his car but they are essential parts of the tapestry. Superb!

Who can argue against this album? Even the car song is not that bad (the lyrics are what they are, but musically it's pretty OK; not the best for sure, but my guess is that 95% of the bands would be happy to write this song). It goes on all directions, mixing so many genres, but it's consistantly brilliant, and really groundbreaking for the time.

Outstanding album, with many different styles and complex harmonies. Had this on an eight-track tape back in the 70’s until it was stolen out of my car in 1978. Haven’t listened to the whole album since.

Millennials were right

It’s huge and ambitious, like a rock circus that somehow pulls it all off. Even the weaker songs don’t matter because the highs are so high. The production is wild, but everything fits together perfectly. It’s fun, weird, and absolutely brilliant.

Bombastic and delightful from the first notes. The highlight of the first half is You're My Best Friend, but the poignant '39 is almost as good. Lots of heavier moments too on I'm In Love With My Car and especially Sweet Lady with its crunchy riffs. Seaside Rendezvous closes the side on a catchy ragtime note. The Prophet's Song takes us back to hard rock with progressive leanings. Powerful start to side two. The lengthy a capella harmonies eventually give way to the heavy guitar again and it blends into Love Of My Life, a mostly acoustic and piano intermezzo that also features a harp (!). The quirky, jazzy sounding Good Company then sets up Bohemian Rhapsody. It's a microcosm of the whole album and a hell of a climax. Iconic stuff.

Who doesn't love a bit of Queen. There are parts of this album that are absolutely bonkers, and I mean that in a nice way. In fact, the whole album is almost completely bonkers. And therein lies the whole majesty (geddit?) of Queen. They were almost unique in their sound, nothing like it before or since.

Iconic album Freddie has a unique voice

What can i say? Majestic, perfection, a perfect album. Sound engineering of it, complex melodies, fun changes, the guitar sound rocks hard… I better stop writing, you get the point. 5/5

Ok but not my cup of tea

I love these early albums of queen. Such concept and wit and flamboyance. Beautiful arrangements and songs. Mercury’s voice is so good on this album (too)

This album speaks for itself. I loved the creative audio effects in The Prophet’s Song, like Freddie with a delay effect singing in a way that he harmonized with himself multiple times over, and the section shortly after using panning to create a push-and-pull effect between the left and right acapella “groups”. Freddie Mercury is the GOAT.

theatrical, enchanting, sometimes a bit camp. such is typical for queen. it's impressive to see how much they've put out and how consistent the quality has been. yes, this is the album with the famous "bohemian rhapsody", which their manager despised... the first song in the album is a nasty, yet elegant read on him. one minute, songs are carefree and energetic, the next minute songs are dramatic and emotional... besides the iconic tracks, this album is the british rock equivalent of 24-karat gold. bravo, bravo i say.

The Beatles do stuff like "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" and get called geniuses; Queen do it and they get called other names.

Unlike many of their edgy rockin’ and tumblin’ UK contemporaries, Queen is not afraid to revel in the absurd, theatrical, Monty Python-esque side of the British way of life. Drawing inspiration from the pomposity of opera and music hall tunes, Freddie Mercury swings and swaggers his way to a near masterpiece of an album. Brian May sounds like a legit magician on the guitar at times, experimenting with which had never been exploited in a rock environment. There’s an argument to be made that this is where metal guitar’s interest with classical music began.

I had never listened to this album, but I know half of the songs. This is what I'm talking about! This is exactly the type of album that should be on this list. So great.

Is this a masterpiece concept album? Yes it definitely is. Does it belong in the 1001 albums? Yes it definitely does. Will I ever listen to it again? No probably not. PS: God Save The Queen as the closing track was a masterstroke

Just an amazing album and bohemian rhapsody is just sounds phenomenal on this recording.

The prophet’s song🤘🏻

LISTENED TO THUS 2992 TIMES AND ITS PERFECT .

So difficult to go wrong with Queen because vocals are amazing, melodies are great, and instrumentals are great.

Perfect.

Phenomenal album.

Absolutely majestic af

This is Queen at their most Queen, meandering though bombastic, ridiculous, camp, and pure rock there is never a dull moment (although some moments might be a bit odd). Highlights include Death on Two Legs, ‘39, Prophet Song, and Love of My Life plus the more well know songs I’d still give it 5 starts even if it didn’t have Bohemian Rhapsody in it.

Queen is undefeated

Absolute legend. Feels blossomingly rich and absolutely deep. Cool.

Great tunes from start to finish. Need a few listen through to appreciate all elements

The epitome of an album, of legendary status. Delivers what it promises: an operatic, experimental, rocking musical experience.

great album

Epic!!!

Y'all already K N O W how queen makes me feel.

A perfect album, front to back. They really nailed down their sound on this album, one of my favorites. 5/5

Perfect album for being productive, was wrapping presents. favourite song is love of my life 5/5

Perfect album.

I have this album on CD, vinyl and MP3 and I know it very well. It is one of my favorite Queen albums and one of my favorite albums from any artist. Five stars easily.

Pure gold

How could it be anything else

I mean it's Queen I knew it would be amazing.

Over the top silliness. No notes.

love this Queen period - hard rock, vaudeville, operatic & pop another one in my LP collection

Much better than the last album I had. There's many great songs known and less known. My favourite is "Good Company". The ones sung by Brian May are underrated. Everyone knows "Bohemian Rhapsody", even those without taste. 5 stars for "A Night at the Opera".

Allein schon für Bohemian Rhapsody 5 Sterne. Aber auch der Rest ist durchaus hörenswert. 5/5

A masterpiece that shows what variety Queen could produce. I enjoy Jazz and The Works more, but album is no slouch.

Just an amazing Queen album highlighting how special Freddy Mercury really was. The a capella interlude in The Prophet's Song is mesmerizing along with the singles make this a fun album to listen to end to end. Unfortunate there are just a couple songs that fall completely flat. A 4.5 that I'll nudge to 5.

Absolutely love the album. Freddie’s voice is always mesmerizing

Pretty much every track is good (or great), weird, or confusing - many are two or more of those things. In a less charitable mood I would probably dock a point for Boh Rap (the most over-played and over-rated song in the history of the UK), but I had (somehow) not actually heard it for a while before today. Even the relentless cash-grabbing and fame-hungering of May & Taylor can't (quite) tarnish the legacy of Fred and John

Best ever

Is this the real life, or is it just fantasy? No, this is just one of the greatest albums of all time. I don't recall ever seeing a song with a billion plays on Spotify, much less 2.5 billion. Wow, just wow!

Listened to the album many times since I bought my first copy on 8-track. One of the top handful of albums ever made. The diversity of sights, sounds and smells on this album are breathtaking. Brian May's diverse guitar work sparkles throughout. Death on Two Legs alone displays a variety of guitar styles that no other rock guitarist uses. Freddie's voice was coming into it's own, but the use of harmonies with Brian and Roger are unique and underrated. This album more than any other is what this list is made for. Everyone should hear this album before they die.

I can't think of another band with the range--and stubborn bravery to express that range--as Queen, and this album epitomizes that range. Ballads (both sweet and sad), rock, operatic pieces, ragtime, harmonization, vocal roundels. All superbly done and expressed by the entire band. This is *definitely* an album that belongs on this list (even defines this list), and I didn't really want the next day's album to come up because I was still enjoying this one too much.

An outstanding album full or sensational hits. Some of Queen's greatest work - and there's a lot of it!

Simply one of the greatest albums of all time

Great album some bangers on it

I had never listened to this straight through. I'm glad this encouraged me to. Every song is good. Sure, some are stronger than others, but the whole album is a cohesive, fun, listening experience.

That was especially awesome

My carpool used to have this album cd and we’d listen to it on the way to kindergarten. And first and second and third grade. Just a damn good album

Well, Queen. Love it

No skips. Except for the car song.

A Night At The Opera is the only studio album where Queen fully live up to their immense hype. The production is superb and each song is masterfully crafted. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is the obvious stand out, but to me it’s “39” and “The Prophet’s Song” that ultimately sells this as a perfect rock album to me.

Kids, this is Queen. Queen makes good music.

More vaudeville than opera, there’s a bit of everything here. And, as with the Marx brothers’ movies, it takes several listens to fully appreciate the wit.

I had the rare opportunity to listen to this album with live accompaniment by a mostly unknown but talented vocalist, making a great album even better.

A Classical Rock Album, one of the best rock albums ever, and Freddy is the best

Imaju doslovce deset žanrova i utjecaja unutar jednog albuma. Ja ne mogu dati manje od 5, ili 9/10.

Had never listened in full. As big as it was rumored to be.

Great album and ending with God Save the Queen is such a boss move.

Okay, I Love My Car is undeniably terrible, but the rest of the album is so good (any album that contains Bohemian Rhapsody is a winner in my book) that it still scores a 5 for me. Found a couple of new songs for me that I loved and will download. Their harmonies are so tight, FM’s vocals are so strong, their instrumentals are amazing—what rock band has harps in their music? Loved it. Overall, their music was playful. But Love of My Life put an unexpected lump in my throat. How can you not give this a 5?

Classic

Un gran álbum con el sonido con el sonido característico de Queen.

A Night At the Opera is Queen's fourth album, and considered to be their best work. At the time, this was reportedly the most expensive rock album that had even been made. The band made a grandiose, soaring set of songs with a surprising range of influences. In addition to their basis of metal and prog rock, Queen added orchestral and operatic elements in this collection, with extensive production, giving each track intricate complexities of instrumentation and vocal harmonies. The album included "Bohemian Rhapsody," the lengthy song that has come to be regarded as one of the greatest songs in modern music. The song, and the album, established the band as international stars.

One of my alltime favourite albums

An absolute Masterpiece of an album. It really feels like they're finding their voice in this album. It has that authentic British Rock feel, and it's elevated by the trained ear of an operatic connoisseur. It's no wonder why so many of these songs end up on Greatest Hits and radios everywhere. The unfortunate part is that there are so many good songs on this album that they all don't make it to public consciousness. Quite a few songs on here that I've never heard before and ones that I wish more people knew. Not their only great album but one of the best. They took a stab at something different and really leaned in, and it definitely paid off.

Only really know love of my life and bohemian rhapsody, so im excited to listen to the rest.

What an unexpectedly fantastic album! So many excellent, truly diverse songs. This may be my best discovery of the project so far.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this album, I listened to it a lot as a kid. It's such a grab bag of different styles, following up Seaside Rendezvous with The Prophet's Song is absolutely wild. Can't help but love it.

Amazing album. I love everything about it, it’s so diverse, exciting, theatrical and also sentimental and nostalgic for me because I used to listen to it with my mum on cassette in the car when I was about 4 years old and just started school. Favourite songs: death on 2 legs, prophet song, love of my life and ofc bohemian rhapsody

Forever in my heart

While none of the other songs hold as much power as Bohemian Rhapsody, it was still a very nice listen all throughout!

The best Queen is when they go full Queen and make a bunch of miniature rock operas. This wasn't quite full Queen but it was like 90%

MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Queen were my first favourite band and will always have a special place in my life. So into this album it's a fantastic blend of genres and themes. Death in Two Legs, Love Of My Life, 39, I'm In Love with My Car, Youre My Best Friend & of course Bohemian Rhapsody are only some of the highlights Come for Bohemian Rhapsody stay for the rest.

Should lose a star for the car song but I can't bring myself to.

Yaaaasss qween rock it 👏

One of my biggest regrets is losing my vinyl of this when I left my ex. Possibly in my top 10 albums ever. Yes, even with the car song.

Bohemian Rhapsody es demasiado buena para ponerle un 4 en el álbum en el que está, a tomar por culo. Muy seguro de que me tira mi amor desde pequeño por Queen (era la única banda que conocía), pero me la pela.

All killer, no filler. "39" was my favorite - just love when Brian sings lead - but pretty well every song on here is perfect, and of course it's for THE Queen song on it, the one that makes Wayne's World a beyond perfect film.

Exceptional extraordinary .......

Another repeat artist? I'm gonna be honest, I'm starting to get tired of it. Oh well, at least this is another amazing album. I know I already rated the other Queen albums on this list very highly, but this might just be the best one. There's just something special about A Night at the Opera. I think it might be the willingness to be special. This is a bold album with bold ideas that absolutely pay off. I mean, the album starts off with a pseudo-diss-track towards the band's original manager with "Death on Two Legs"! That's interesting! The foundations made by Queen in their earlier albums are still here. The sound is still excellent. Freddie Mercury's vocals are still phenomenal. The production on this thing is insane. There's so many good songs on here. Not all of them hit as hard as the best ones, but the ones that are great are just phenomenal. Songs like "You're My Best Friend" exemplify the fun of Queen, while others like "Love of my Life" bring some emotion to the album. And yet, the impact of 11 of the 12 songs on this album combined pale in comparison to the impact that this album's biggest song has had. The song, of course, is "Bohemian Rhapsody." I could go on an on about this song. Call it overplayed or overrated or whatever. All I'm saying is that there's a reason why people have called it one of the greatest songs ever made. It's just such an innovative, wonderful song that serves as an absolute marvel of a musical masterpiece. I really don't know what else to say. This is Queen's finest outing (at least as far as I'm aware), and when their earlier work is already as amazing it is, it's no surprise that this album is a 5/5 in my opinion.

I just listened to this a couple days ago. Without a doubt the best Queen album. The back half still isn’t as good as the flawless first half but what a way to end the album. Rating: 4.8

Its queen innit

Queen!

После первого прослушивания я удивился что это играет Queen а не какая-то прог-группа. Фредди гений что тут сказать

Brilliant

Great album. Timeless

This album was really theatrical in the best ways possible. It felt like I was seated watching a play with some of the most unique music that I’ve heard. Of course I’ve heard Bohemian Rhapsody before but to hear it within the sequence of the album just elevated the quality of it even more. Incredible listen!

If there would ever be a Queen album for this list, it must be this one. Arguably the band's best album, A Night at the Opera is the culmination of efforts made by a group of young lads who were cutting ties with their greedy former studio Trident and abusive former manager Norman Sheffield, and making a grand statement for themselves. The recording and production of this album was the musical equivalent of putting all the chips in at the poker table, and man did they clean house. Every song on this album is amazing across various styles, time signatures, movements, and other experimental choices. From the sea shanty "'39" to the musical hall pieces "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" and "Seaside Rendezvous", from drummer Roger Taylor singing on "I'm in Love with My Car" to guitarist Brian May singing on "Good Company", from the door-kicker "Death on Two Legs" to the grand finish "God Save the Queen", from the short and sweet "You're My Best Friend" to the 8-minute epic "The Prophet's Song", it all works wonders. Finally, there's the crown jewel of this album - "Bohemian Rhapsody". This is not only one of the best songs the band ever wrote, but quite frankly one of the greatest songs of all time. It's not simply that everyone knows it but this song transforms one's sense of what can be accomplished. Back in high school, I remember studying this track for a project - the poetic verses of a man put on trial, the various movements from acapella to full-on hard rock, the use of panning and other studio effects, the soaring yet disparate vocal delivery from Freddie Mercury. There was a lot to be learned from this song alone, and it tells a lot about how Queen wanted to make an imprint with A Night at the Opera. If you haven't already, give it a listen.

A Night At The Opera was an album I bought when I was a young teen. It captivated me and opened my eyes to the variety and range of musical styles you can highlight on one album. Fast forward almost 50 years later and it still resonates with me as one of the few records I was proud to discover when I was younger and it has become an all-time classic. The opening track, Death On Two Legs is one of the best album openers ever and You're My Best Friend, a near perfect pop song that still brings back great memories from the 70's. Throw in the epic, Bohemian Rhapsody and a mixed bag of songs sung and written by other members of the band (besides Mercury), this truly is a group effort. I began to lose interest in Queen after this album (when they became even more popular), but I consider this as Queen's best and most artistically creative album..

Beautiful album. Perfection. Lyrically and musically, one of the best. Queen were a wonderful band.

Starts with a BANG and doesn’t let up. Electric guitar bits are crisp as fuck and hit hard, while (hardly shocking) there are many unconventional operatic elements. Weird yet witty lyrics are delivered with force from Freddie and there isn’t a single moment to point to in question of his vocal prowess. The thing that’s clear over everything is that these performers are having FUN. A lot of playing around with stereo and spatial audio. To top it all off - a near flawless mix and master. And, of course, one of the greatest songs ever. A masterpiece deserving of its rep. Listened to: grocery shopping. Favorite tracks: Love of My Life, Death on Two Legs, ‘39, obviously Bo Rhap

so good

Great album!

Perfection on record!! Queen was way ahead of their time. Everything about this record is perfect! Favourite songs: Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Lady, You're My Best Friend, Love of My Life, I'm In Love With My Car, '39, Death on Two Legs (Dedicated To...), The Prophet's Song, God Save the Queen Least favourite songs: Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon 5/5

Classic album. Enough said

Sometimes, even the most annoying group of theater kids can make art that is legitimately amazing. A Night at the Opera is proof that Queen are more than a singles band. (Though, if you took this album out of the equation, then yeah, they’re strictly a singles band. But that’s not reality, thankfully.) Frankly, I don’t know why I adore this record as much as I do – it has the exact same issues as the other two Queen records on this list; it’s just as overly theatrical and filled to the brim with muchness, which I find obnoxious – but there’s an element of constraint here that elevates it above anything else in their discography. And yes, I know that sounds silly when there are songs like “Lazy Sunday Afternoon,” “Seaside Rendezvous,” “Love of My Life,” and “Good Company,” but the pop sensibilities just overpower the dorky extravagance. There’s definitely a song or two I would cut in an ideal world (“39” and “Prophet Song”), but the fact that I would preserve a song like “I’m In Love With My Car” is testament to the level of consistency on A Night at the Opera, as well as the pure talent it must’ve took to make this album. But then again, if your album has a song like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” I think you probably have a classic on your hands, no matter what the fuck you put next to it. Thankfully, the rest of the material around that flawless song is very good, if not on the same caliber. Yeah, this album’s great. Dorky and a lot, but surprisingly great.

A masterpiece. Insane talent with fantastic songs. Loved it!

Prophets Anthem is incredible. Lots of great little recording tricks on the album - delay, a reel speed up of a guitar solo, using only vocals as a kitschy orchestra. I never really understood how much May contributed - writing and singing lead. What great musicians. Only Bohemian and You’re My Best Friend for singles. I find it quaint how cutely tongue-in-cheek British this album gets. I love the classical style piano solos and the eclectic range of genres/pastiches.

incredible give me fifteen of them.

One of the best albums ever. I mean, this album has Bohemian Rhapsody, Love Of My Life, Death On Two Legs, Seaside Rendezvous, You'Re My Best Friend, Prophet's Song and '39. This is an iconic record.

7/19/24. This might be Queen's best album, and very progressive at the time with the production. Outside Bohemian Rhapsody, each song stands in its own light and different sound landscapes are explored. This will be a new favorite for a while.

So good!

Age hasn't diminished this foundation stone of Rock. Death on two legs still as vicious all these years later. Bo Rap obviously....

Whenever I would discuss about music, I would try to look for excuses to call Bohemian Rhapsody overrated as I've heard many people call it the best song ever and I thought for a while that it's so mainstream it lost its spark, stupid right? I was wrong, Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the very best songs ever, it's a masterpiece. And while listening to this album I thought "Wow this songs are so good, this is fantastic." This whole album is a masterpiece. Oh wait, the car song, maybe it isn't that big of a masterpiece. But still a masterpiece!

Obra de arte

I love it

amazing, buffet for my ears

Queen, nothing else to say (even this isn't their strongest album)

I'm so excited for this one. I was listening to some of these just last night. In fact its one of the albums I've listened to most. There are so many songs I know and love. '39 has been one of my favourites for years and its so underrated. So is Death On Two Legs, and Seaside Rendezvous. I can't stop rambling about how much I love this and I haven't even started listening yet! There wasn't any moment I didn't enjoy, which is rare for an album. First time during this project so far. Highlights: Death On Two Legs I'm In Love With My Car You're My Best Friend '39 Seaside Rendezvous Bohemian Rhapsody

I love Queen and this album has my all time favorite song on it - Bohemian Rhapsody is the best. A great album all round!

Yeh class 9/10

Refined and harmonious without losing their grit. Outrageous energy and complex songwriting.

How could I give this anything other a five? It has Bohemian Rhapsody on it! That song is a fucking banger! Absolute peak 5/5

One of the all time greats the greatest ever

art in its purest form. utter perfection (with the exception of that car song)

Such a strong open. I'm not familiar with the song but it had me. Lazing on a Sunday afternoon prepared me for anything to happen. '39 - showed me these guys could have been famous in any genre of music On my first listen I didn't look at the track list and was honestly surprised when Bohemian Rhapsody popped up. This feels like an ALBUM, cool cover, the songs are different from each other but are all some how sonically related. I mean his voice. It's almost a disservice to pick the songs out individually.

I did not realize just how operatic this album actually is. There are swooping falsettos and aria-like melodies all throughout the songs. I found some new songs that tickled me, such as Lazing on a Sunday afternoon. Death on Two Legs is an understated standout on this album. Everyone knows Bohemian Rhapsody, but Death is an earworm full of power chords and amazing harmonies. I would absolutely listen to this album all the way through again. It goes down smooth and sounds incredible.

What an absolutely fun time this is. A delight from start to finish.

An iconic album from an iconic band. Inspired by the Marx Brother’s film of the same name, “A Night at the Opera” is full of fun and fancy free…along with a couple of Queen’s most iconic songs: “You’re My Best Friend” and the karaoke favorite “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Aside from those two gems, concert favorite “Love of My Life” was also snuck in along with two songs not sung by Mercury that may deserve more attention, in “I’m In Love With My Car” (sung by Taylor) and “‘39” (sung by May). Overall, this album is a variety of sound and song types, demonstrating Queen’s growth by the time they were creating this fourth album. It’s a fun listen from start to finish if you’re a fan of the band or looking for your gateway introduction to Queen.

Snilldarverk í heild sinni.

Grew up listening to this as a junior in high school. The foundation of my youth. 5 stars

This is quite the onslaught of musical experiences. Opera, childlike, get up and dance, rock and roll, soft songs??? Nice. I see why this is one of or is the album that put them on the map. This should have been called A Night at the Funny Farm But in a good sense. I was not displeased with this but what’s that matter to the 0-1 people that read this?? Choice cut: lazing on a Sunday Afternoon

YES!!!

Best to approach this album as the opera that it is. Devour it in one fell swoop, because it really hangs together best that way. And, if you can, listen on headphones, not buds. Everything really builds towards Bohemian Rhapsody at the end -- but the journey across sonic styles, those crazy Roger Taylor high harmonies flying around in the mix. The whole aspect is just beautiful madness. And if you can't listen to "Love of My Life" without being touched, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you as a human. No unexpected bangers -- just all the good shit.

10/10. It's a masterpiece. :)

You're My Best Friend: nice song '39: I didn't know Queen did bluegrass-ish/folk songs! This is a nice little song. Seaside Rendezvous: very silly, hah. The Prophet's Song: the first 6 minutes are too repetitive. It gets better at the end. Good Company: I like this. I like the banjo uke. Sounds cute and fun. Obviously Bohemian Rhapsody is epic. I could give the album 4 starts just for that.

God damn. Its beautiful.

So far, I've heard only 3 albums I can call perfect. It's one of them.

Very easy and enjoyable listen. I can see why it's a classic. IMO not a bad song on here

this album is a masterclass in musicianship. the band is firing on all cylinders, switching genres throughout the album with the greatest of ease. with “a night at the opera” freddie mercury solidified his legacy as one of the legendary vocalists of all time. brian may kills it on guitar, as usual. john deacon and roger taylor lay a solid foundation with the rhythm section. mid to late 70’s is my favourite era of the band and this is my favourite queen album. a stone cold masterpiece and one of my top ten favourite albums of all time. highlights: “death on two legs (dedicated to…)” “i’m in love with my car” “love of my life” “bohemian rhapsody”

Might have been a gimmick in lesser hands. Rock opera tends to mean rock musical theater. This is rock opera. It's often said it's a normal album plus Bohemian Rhapsody. In fact it's operatic throughout. Singular masterpiece by a band like no other.

Not for me. The vocals make me want to commit sudoku.

Exceptional

it's a banger

No me ha encantado, pero ...

I’ve probably heard “Bohemian Rhapsody” more times than I’ve heard any other song on this list, but it really put it in a new perspective listening to it on the album, where it serves as an epic climax. The deep cuts are all great (even though someone really should talk to Roger Taylor about his relationship with his car). Queen hit a real creative peak here.

Loved every second of this album. Even enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody… a song I’m good with never hearing again (although I fully admit it’s the perfect proper song to end the album). The whole album has an air of pomp. It feels like you should be raising your pinkie finger when you listen to it. Freddie sounds incredible as does the rest of the band. Plus it features 39, Death on Two Legs, You’re My Best Friend and Love of my Life. Which is all just killer Queen ;)

Just for Bohemian Rhapsody

This could be the perfect album. Potentially the best first 40 seconds on an album, ever. If they'd only went one prog step further and actually made the songs align better to each other. Great experience until around song 5. This could be a 6/5.

10/10. No notes.

This album rocks, one of the best so far

I'm only familiar with a few of their songs.

Great!

Can Queen do any wrong?

Seaside randezvous, what a bop, entire album is awesome

Nice breath of fresh air after what a week of crap albums… great production, some massive hits for Queen here. Even a few new ones for me that were sneakily good. Really nice harmonies. And how can I not choose ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for my 1001 playlist…

Mamaa...just killed a man🗣🗣

Every song on this album is great. There are some classics and some under appreciated bangers also.

Again, something I used to play all the time but due to its popularity have heard it too much over the years. Thanks for the recommendation.

Simplesmente o álbum que contém Bohemian Rapsody

What can you say, still so so good.

The album where everything quintessentially Queen coalesce: theatrical writing, soapy vocals, hardhitting rock tunes, stellar instrumentation, aggressive queerness, and also it is the album that could be single-handedly blamed for the creation of Muse and other operatic rock pastiche bands.

The guitar nerd in me geeks out over this record. Brian May has one of the most distinct guitar tones and playing styles in rock. In contrast to other arena acts of the era, it sounds like he's drawing more from classical music than the blues. And the way Queen used tape flanging just knocks me out. I love that sound so much. The record sounds fantastic. The songs just come one after another, with no space between any of the tracks. I miss records like this that showcase a large dynamic range. We never hear records like this since the dawn of the loudness wars. The quiet parts are truly quiet. And the loud parts are much louder by comparison. It keeps you on your toes. Everyone in the band writes songs on this album. And each member contributed at least one certified banger: I'm in Love With My Car from drummer, Roger Taylor, You're My Best Friend from bassist, John Deacon, the tender 39 from guitarist, Brian May, and of course, Bohemian Rhapsody from lead singer, Freddie Mercury. The whole thing is a 45 minute ride that shoots out of a cannon and only stops to take one breath at the beginning of side two. It's a thrilling classic.

It is actually like a night at the opera :) The music tells a story. Bloody amazing!

This album is so different musically but really shows off their talent and bold, creative spirit. I only knew a couple songs but enjoyed it a lot.

Loved it, I got to listen to some new Queen tracks that have been there all along, but not to my ears. This was an album that sounded like they loved experimenting in music, and just found the right way to be different.

It's Queen. It's 5 stars. This is the first time I have listened to this whole album. I really like some of the odder tracks such as '39 and The Prophet's Song.

Excellent. I'd only ever heard Queen's "Classic Queen" greatest hits album, which is good and all, but an *album* album like "A Night at the Opera" makes for a much more satisfying listen. It does have a few hits, most notably the unconventional-but-brilliant "Bohemian Rhapsody," but I was surprised to see that most of the lesser-known songs here were also unconventionally brilliant. There are a couple brief moments that seem to cross-reference other songs on the album, but other than that every song has a completely unique feel. The album started looping when it ended, and I just let the whole thing play again -- that's how great it was.

An honest piece of genius And yes, I am too, in love with my car <3 gouden sletj

Proof that an album can have the lyric "You call me sweet like I'm some kind of cheese" and still be a 5

I was surprised that I felt this way about the album even though i only knew the two big hits. It felt like time flew by listening to it

Simply perfect.

It doesn't matter who you are, where you came from or what you think, this is without a shadow of a doubt up there in the top three most important albums ever been laid down

Great, great, great

Always an incredible album , love the MOFI pressing of that album! Unbeliveable

The full range from You're My Best Friend to Bohemian Rhapsody, and all in under 45 minutes. It's big and epic, and still tight.

Spectacular. What can be said that hasn't already? "Death on Two Legs" "You're My Best Friend" "Seaside Rendezvous" BUT ESPECIALLY "Love of My Life" and "Bohemian Rhapsody", of course. As an aside, "'39" is the least sounding Queen song of all time and is still very good.

My favorite band is Queen and this is my favorite Queen album, what do you want from me Just the opening to Death on Two Legs is enough to be like absolutely yes

this is another heavy hitter from my middle school days, when i first started exploring music more widely. i think this album is brilliant and fun. there's some goofy "old fashioned" sounding stuff ('lazing on a sunday afternoon', 'seaside rendezvous', 'good company') but, like some later beatles, i think it's fun and charming. of course there's the big song on here that everyone knows, but my favorite songs on here have always been the biting 'death on two legs' and the immense 'the prophet's song' with it's amazing "vocal round" middle section leading into one of my favorite queen moments of all time ("god give you the grace to purge this place..."). of course it's widely regarded as an all timer, and i have to agree. to me, this is one of the world's most famous bands firing on all cylinders.

It's beautiful when the musicians in a band are also very best friends that like having fun together. Just ignore the car song 👍

Great album, classic Queen 9/10

I don't think I can say anything about this album that hasn't already been said. Absolute masterpiece, truly a timeless classic

do i need to say anything.

Ok, I'll give Queen a 5. Their live tho, that one, is a 10.

I love this album. I love its theatrical style, I love the songs themselves, I love how disjointed they can be from one to the other. I could bring up Freddy's vocals, but you already know.

"The" iconic Queen album. 5/5 Regular listening 4/5 Shooting bugs

Whatever Queen Album contained Bohemian Rhapsody was gonna get 5 stars, but there's some really really cool b-side stuff going on here as well

Hard to give anything but five stars. This album has (possibly) rock’s greatest song in Bohemian Rhapsody.

This album is so good, and silly. It is also a great showcase of the incredible range of style and genre they did so well ('39, seaside, sweet lady). Bohemian Rhapsody fits so perfectly as the culturally iconic centerpiece of this album, the whole thing feels like a Broadway performance. Favorite song I hadn't heard before: Sweet lady, close second is '39, honorary mention to lazing on a Sunday afternoon 9/10

Queen is straight up diva for this album. It’s such a ride that I was happy to take. The campiness of it all makes it a wonder to behold, and it’s very easy to see why Queen is such an iconic band in the historic of rock and music.

Trying to imagine what it would be like to listen to Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time in 1975… This album is very fun to listen to and probably would have been amazing to see live! I’ve been going back and forth about whether I wanted to rate this a 5 or not but hey an album doesn’t have to perfect to be a 5 according to my past ratings so!!! 9/10

This is a 5 minus. I really like some songs, but some of them are not really thought trough, in my opinion.

A freaking masterpiece. Listened to this in the car and did not want to get out when I needed to because I just wanted to keep listening.

So many great songs. Queen really does make timeless music.

Easiest 5/5 ever.

He's got the range

Iconic

I have a soft spot for Queen. Even the car song.

One of the greatest of all time. 15/10 No Notes.

Third album to get repeat listens. This is also one of the few albums I knew going into this project. Even the songs with which I am overfamiliar because they play on every rock station ad nauseam- cough, Bohemian Rhapsody- don’t become less magnificent because of that familiarity. I love this album like Roger loves his car.

This album is complete, interesting, iconic, and has a wide range of emotional affects that make for a near perfect listening experience. 4.7 stars

I can't believe I've never heard Prophet's Song before. An excellent track. The qualities of the other tracks go without saying.

Incredible album. So diverse but somehow everything is just gold.

Classic! Have this one on vinyl too.

This is my 54th album, 23 of which are from the 70's. A Night at the Opera is like a breath of fresh air. It's so unique from anything else I've heard from the era. I don't think I will listen to this album on a regular basis, but I have to give Queen full credit for creativity and novelty. Also for Bohemian Rhapsody.

Loved, great to hear the whole album and how they play around with the different sounds and not just bohemian rhapsody

One of the quintessential albums that is surely not only on everyone's 1001, but guaranteed on a 101 and almost certain in the top 10 of all time. Queen is dripping with talent. Brian May's guitar is easily one of the most iconic of all time. A sound that's immediately recognizable. His sing-songy leads in songs like You're My Best Friend would have you know you're listening to Queen without hearing any vocals. A song written by their ultra talented bassist John Deacon, creator of many big Queen hits, and creator of one of the most famous bass lines of all time with Under Pressure. I've said that their drummer, Roger Taylor would have been in his full right to be the lead singer of any of the competing 70s rock bands of his era, which you can hear on songs like I'm in Love With my Car - but I guess made the "mistake" of joining a band with fucking Freddie Mercury. What is there to say about Freddie that surely hasn't been drilled into everyone. His singing matched only by his charisma, just about the coolest rock star ever. I love this album. Imagine listening through a half an hours worth of absolutely GOLDEN songs such as Death on Two Legs, You're My Best Friend, 39', Sweet Lady, Love of My Life, AND THEN - and ONLY THEN! Getting hit with the greatest song ever written - Bohemian Rhapsody. I'm looking forward to reading these reviews. In full honesty skipping all the well-deserved 5's - and seeing just how anyone could justify anything below a 5. FINALLY an album everyone needs to hear before they die.

Adore QUEEN!!!

Fun, and well varied.

A masterpiece.

So good

Cool to listen to in its entirety, so much musical awesomesauce in here

Queen are one of the best bands to ever exist. This album features, from front to back amazing songs. Well written and even better performed tracks that really show off the greatest frontman in music history. It also features one of the greatest songs ever written which I name of itself adds quite a bit.

I Love Queen and this iconic album. One of my fav Queen tracks, Love of my life ❤️ "I'm in love with my car", what were they thinking? 😂 I came back to revisit this album and bump it up. Two of my favourite Queen tracks deserve a 5-star and they are definitely missing from my 1001 5-star playlist.

Best for ever

This album is even better than I remember, and I did remember it being great. I got really into Queen as a teenager and then listened through all their albums quite a few years ago, but I didn't remember exactly how much I really love this album. Queen is obviously known for their hits, of which there are many, but listening through their albums reveals their other tracks that were not just filler but really created complete albums, and "A Night at the Opera" is Queen's epic opus.

I would not call myself a Queen fan but this album is a monument to creativity and musicianship. The remastered version sounds incredible.

Queen siendo uno de los mejores grupos de la historia por siempre. Disco genial!

A monumental album that is jam-packed with both all-time great classics, and underrated gems. There are only 2 songs that I am not the biggest fan of (Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon and Seaside Rendezvous) because of their pastoral, English-ness...however, they do provide a nice break/departure from the rest of the album and give it much broader depth from a musical style perspective. A phenomenal album. Favorite tracks: everything else besides the two mentioned!

More ridiculous campy rock please!

Classic

I mean

That guy must really like his car. 5 stars.
