I don't like Reggae, especially this. The songs are all the same, his voice is lazy and his fake accent is off-putting, the saxophone solos are kinda poor a d high school level. I couldn't wait for this to be over.

Surprisingly good, unexpected amount of cursing, which felt weirdly modern. Sort of bored by the end but glad to have listened. Didn't hate, but wouldn't probably listen again.
Astonishing production, really does sound like they made it in their basement, and that it's still very creative and funny and entertaining is very impressive. Not much into hip-hop and my rating is for how likely I am to listen again, so only a 3. Still had to have experienced it.
Nothing I can say that hasn't been said. IMO greatest album of all time, no skips, all bangers.
Listened twice, second time convinced me it was a 5.
Didn't dislike it, but I prefer a bit of distinction between songs and it sort of all ran together for me.
I was surprised that I felt this way about the album even though i only knew the two big hits. It felt like time flew by listening to it
I hated this.
Even the good songs would have been much better if they were sung by someone else. Incessant droning.
These songs are great. Groovy, good songwriting, heartfelt. However, Tom Waits should not be allowed to sing anything and that is a hill I will die on. My vocal chords hurt just listening to him.
I don't like Reggae, especially this. The songs are all the same, his voice is lazy and his fake accent is off-putting, the saxophone solos are kinda poor a d high school level. I couldn't wait for this to be over.
I was hoping to like this but I really didn't. I didn't think any of the songs were particularly special or memorable, though I liked the sound of them. Her rhymes were often really trite and guessable, and her vibrato is all over the place. That makes her pitchy to my ear and it becomes sorta cringy to listen to. Not for me unfortunately.
Utterly charming
Parts of this are really shocking, but it's a great listen and I really enjoyed it.
Not a fan.
I wouldn't listen again, but I wasn't unhappy listening to it.
I can tell that this is pretty decent for what it is, but I'd be absolutely never choose to listen to it again.
This was a great listen! Sometimes a little samey, but the songs are excellent.
Fine, but voting. Each song sounded almost exactly the same as the last.
Great album, loved the theme and will definitely listen again.
I was going to give it a 3 because I weirdly did not hate listening to it, though I'll never ever do it again. I ended up deciding on a 2 because 70 minutes of this is just way too long.
I enjoyed listening to it, but it gets a bit same-y after a while, and his voice starts to get a little annoying. He sings with almost no enunciation and does the same vocal tricks in every song, so I wish there was more variation. The hits are great, of course.
Great, so much soul and a great story.
A fun listen, though I wouldn't ever do it again :)
I love afrobeat and these songs had a great rhythm and great mood to them, but I did not think there was much of a variation from song to song. It felt like a slog after about 15 minutes, and I'd happily take one song on its own, but a whole album sorta put me to sleep. High level of musicianship, but I wouldn't listen again.
This is the first album of the project where I really discovered something new that I liked! Her voice is really great and I love the attitude of the music. It's not the type of album I'd buy, that's why it's not 5 stars, but I was pleasantly surprised!
I really really want to like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, because they are very cool. But it's too much noise for me, every single song sounds the same except Maps, there are too many moans, and Karen O isn't really singing, she's just sorta yelling. I understand that some people like that, but as a singer myself, I don't. It's really not for me and I'm sad about it.
The most beautiful drunk singing I've heard in a while. This is really awful. He's a great singer in theory so I assumed that I wouldn't hate it, but he just drones on and on and his vibrato started to make me feel seasick. He has arranged the orchestration of each song as if he is Beethoven himself, but none of the songs stand up to it. They're extremely repetitive, not very creative, the phrases are long and boring, and I can't understand a damn word he's singing anyway. This album is pompous and was torture to listen to.
Worth listening to, though I wouldn't again. High musicality.
Was fine, a little boring. Message in a Bottle is clearly the best song on here a d it's the opener, so it goes a little downhill.
I don't know if I would have given this a 5 were I not obsessed with the Beatles and already a huge George Harrison fan. Not every song is a winner, but I'd buy it and I'd listen to it again, because it's a snapshot of life out on his own for the first time and it's very charming to me. Plus there are some really wonderful songs on here.
Such a pleasant surprise!
Production is stunning, her voice is beautiful, but the songs have no life in them. Feels like every one was just written to "be a hit," when really none of them are. I don't believe the songwriting, and I didn't need to listen to this.
My first time listening to Iron Maiden. Didn't blow me away but I also didn't beg for it to be over.
Pleasant but boring, no songs that stuck out to me.
I'm never going to choose to listen to this, but I enjoyed parts of it.
At least one of these stars is just for Gimme Shelter, but still enjoyed the whole album.
This was a great surprise, never heard of them and I really enjoyed it. They play with genre really effectively, and the songs can be very silly but it feels very authentic.
I feel so bad giving this a 2, especially when I see all the reviews here. But I rate for myself and how likely I am to listen again, and I won't. There's nothing wrong with it, I appreciate the lyrics and how important this album was at the time, and I like that he is very political. But I'm not a fan of hip hop and I'm always just waiting for it to be over. I much preferred the Wu-Tang.
I thought this was awful. Terrible singing, non-existent production, rambling songwriting. I'm interested to hear her other albums as people seem to really like her, but I'd never listen to this again.
I appreciate the creativity of this album, but it wasn't my favorite.
I really like Susanne Vega, her voice is so pleasant. No heavy hitters on this album, but I enjoyed listening to it.
I respect this. But I have to be honest with myself that I didn't like listening to it.
Chris Cornell's vocals are stellar, but this album is too long. I enjoyed listening to it, the band is great and I will happily listen to him sing, but as an album I thought there was too much filler.
I loved reading about him, Touré seemed like a really good human. Reading about how music in Mali has since been outlawed was also sad to hear, but I'm glad I know about it now. Great guitar playing, really high musicianship. I respect this a lot. The 3 is because I read l rate based on whether I'd listen again.
The perfect mix of Old Beatles and New Beatles.
Never heard of this before, but I really liked it!
Look, I love Green Day and Dookie is a classic. Upon careful listening, it's really a variation on a theme, there are some absolute bangers on here, but the others are like.. less good versions of the bangers. It's knocked it from 5 to 4 for me.
I want to like this. I love The Bends, it's one of my favorites. But this just feels like a pretentious collection of Soundscapes.
This was hard. I've loved These Days for a long time, but l admit I like the song more than I like her performance. Her accent is so distracting, it causes her to make really strange singing choices.
Don't care for it. Every breath you take is good.
Purposeful chaos. Loved it during covid, love it now.
Super creative.
I don't think hip hop is for me.
Pleasant but boring after a few songs
Too soundscape-y.
Really enjoyed this one.
My first Bowie album! Heroes is clearly the best song on the album, but I listened twice and enjoyed all of it.
The hell is this? No redeeming qualities.
My first Cat Stevens! He's a great songwriter, and this album is really charming. Will visit again.
I'd never heard of this, but really enjoyed it. It does sound like an insane clown is going to kill you, but there are some real nice songs on here and I'm a big fan of Psychedelia
Really hard to rate. Dusty has an incredible voice that is still relevant today whilst other singers might fall into the category of old fashioned. Turned out that I knew nearly every other song as well! I wouldn't sit and listen through this again, but I enjoyed nearly every song on here.
The big hits are great. Loved the addition of R&B and jazz, just way way too long.
My favorite of the eras.
Not great.
I've avidly disliked Tom Waits, his voice sounds like he's in a meat grinder and as a singer myself it gives me anxiety. However, this album, I get. It's super charming, there's really high quality to the musicianship, his stories are funny, and it's unique. Cool stuff.
This was new to me, really enjoyed it.
First three songs are the best, all others are like worse versions of them. Also weird to heard Beyonce sing about tearing other women down. Didn't age well..
I don't like prog Rock, but this was great. High musicality, loved the complicated time signatures.
Grew up listening to this one, brilliant.
I can't listen to this.
Sad noise.
This firmly gets a positive review from me, I enjoyed it a lot and respect what this album is trying to do. The inclusion of all the indigenous music and instruments really adds to the entire sound and doesn't feel gimmicky in the slightest. I can't give it higher than a 3 because I rate based on my likeliness of listening again, and metal is 100% not my cup of tea, but I'm really glad I got the chance to listen to this. Respect.
Wanted to love this but way more country than I wanted
