Favorite Songs: Little Wing She's So Fine One Rainy Wish What a crazy good album, it seems like there are the ideas for two albums packed in one. Great riffs and amazing tunes.

<3 Jimi

So much good stuff. But I know he has better

I love the psychedelic space narratives of the 70s

super funky and so progressive.

Say what you will about which guitarists are the best ever, but no one can deny what Jimi Hendrix brought to the world is remarkable. I don’t even know if I would consider him one of my favorite guitarists of all time, but I can fully understand why he is to some. He gave life to the instrument in a way no other guitarist ever has. And what he was able to create and achieve in just two years is astonishing. This seems to be considered the weakest of Jimi’s three albums, but the “worst” Hendrix album isn’t really saying much. This is still a great psychedelic blues rock album. It’s fun, bright, tasteful, and full of amazing riffs and licks. It also sounds really good for the time. Most bands weren’t making records that sounded this good back then. And this was still about a year before Led Zeppelin came out, which I would consider a turning point in hard rock history. Also absolutely have to mention Mitch Mitchell. A drummer who people don’t talk about much anymore, but who also had some insane chops. The perfect drummer to match Jimi’s energy. The A-side of this is pretty much perfect, and the B-side has some pretty good songs, but isn’t as consistent. This may not have the dynamics of the other two albums, and it’s also quite a bit shorter than the other two, but it’s still a good time, and not a horrible place to start for Jimi’s sadly brief career. Rating: 8/10

Much more cohesive and in my opinion better than Electric Ladyland, this was a fantastic listen.

He is amazing. I would have liked to see what he would have done in his 30s and 40s.

Not my favorite from Jimi Hendrix, but his talent is on full display here. My favorite songs are probably "Wait Until Tomorrow," "Ain't No Telling," "Castles Made of Sand," and "Bold As Love," with that being the absolute standout track. It feels like there's a bit more filler here than on his other albums, but overall it's still good, and Hendrix is still one of the best.

What can be said about this album? It's a stone cold classic. It's not the kind of thing I'd be listening to as an album these days as it's completely out of context with my life, but it brought me back to the vibe in my crunchy college for sure. Little Wing, You Got Me Floating', Castles Made of Sand and Bold as Love sound as good as ever.

I enjoyed this album. It had a couple of radio hits. It's Jimi.

Very good album. I sort of take it for granted because I've heard quite a few of the bangers on it for so long. But I can only imagine for amazing it'd be to hear them again for the first time. 4/5

Well,it's Jimi Hendrix. I like to listen to him once in a while, some nice tracks on this album, psychedelic as always and he really liked stereo effects.

Is ok, but not my favorite

Psicodelic

Das waren noch Zeiten!

Überraschend effektreich, viele Takt- und Tempowechsel, hypnotisch, berauscht

I don't know. Guitar is not bad but I was expecting something more of famous Jimi Hendrix. Maybe I am just used to guitar like this and because of that I am desensitized to Jimi's genious?

Hadn’t listened to a full Hendrix album before, and found myself really enjoying this one. So many good songs, although a couple that just didn’t work for me. The weird intro also didn’t make much sense. That said, an awesome album and a huge part of rock history, given the influence Hendrix has had on countless guitarists.

Loved this, Jimmy is a force to be reckoned with. The intro really took me off guard, wasn't what I was expecting and he's so consistent - I don't have a bad word to say

I bought a Jimi Hendrix cd in high school and it got heavy rotation in the old truck. Jimi Hendrix is amazing and his guitar prowess and creativity is unmatched. Plus just look at his style. Incredible. I have mainly stuck with his “greatest hits” and a blues compilation so it was nice to go through a full album. Crazy that he only finished three complete albums before he died at the tender and cursed age of 27- imagine what else he could have achieved! “If 6 was 9” was my favorite. I’m a big fan of psychedelic music and this is the OG right here. A fun listen! I bet we’ll see Jimi’s other two records on this list. Four stars.

I liked this more than I thought I would. I always thought I didnt like Jimi Hendrix but I enjoyed it. My favorite one was Castles made of Sand. Kind of reminded me of Jack Johnson. 3.6 stars rounded up to 4

Inconfundible virtuoso con la guitarra en un disco lleno de matices y ritmo. Indispensable.

Obviously a classic but some had choices, like having Noel Redding sing one of the songs. If 6 was 9 also feels 20min long and makes the post little wing part of the album into a slog.

One Rainy Wish stands out!!

I love jimi Hendrix as this album certainly has a lot of great songs on it.

Great guitar psych rock album. Much more familiar with his first album but this one is just as great!

Awesome album. The songs I wasn't already familiar with are fantastic. A true classic!

Jimi Hendrix is one of those artists who we’re just expected to love. And while I certainly respect Hendrix, I’ve never liked him as much as I’m supposed to. There’s some great stuff on here, but the overall package isn’t quite great. It certainly doesn’t come off as cohesive, ping-ponging from the pointless sound effects of EXP to a nice shuffle number to the jarring contrast of Spanish Castle Magic, to the melodic Wait Until Tomorrow. It is mostly very good, but the overall is less than the sum of the parts. My favorite songs from this album are “Little Wing” and “If 6 were 9”, and I prefer cover versions of both (by Derek and the Dominies and Roy Buchanan, respectively). Don’t get me wrong. It is a solid 4, a little bit below the debut, and above Electric Ladyland. But none reach the 5 that everybody would expect/demand. 4/5

I like it a lot. Love the experimentation sprinkled in

Jimmy is 2/2

Iconic album, some awesome songs

Great jimi album

More kick ass than I remember.

Awesome guitar playing. Occasionally a bit heavy on the feedback at times. Also on random song, by someone other than Jimi that kept making me check to see if Spotify had switched to a Beatles album.

As far as power trios go, one will take the fierce agility and jazzy proclivities of this lot over the (frequently lumbering) blunderbuss that was Cream. So many delights here beyond the fully worthy headliners ("Little Wing" [which should be about six minutes longer] and "Spanish Castle Magic" and "Castles Made of Sand") – "Wait Until Tomorrow" and "One Rainy Wish" and "She's So Fine" (which admittedly sounds a different band [mainly due to the vocals]) each merits a full digging. As with Coltrane, there's real subtlety and understatedness within the ferocity – the combo of those qualities plus the the thumping rhythmic playing as foundation, is what made the music. And one finds JH an underrated singer besides. And bonus points for this being released the year of one's birth.

Very impressive and varied throughout. Stand-out: Castles Made of Sand

There are some weird tracks in here and the rest are straight up amazing. Lose the weird and annoying and this would be a 5.

Hot. Like it even if not my style

god level riffs. dont like his voice tho

Far out

That was an amazing record. Insane sound quality and of course superb guitar play be the one and only

First time listening to Jimi Hendrix, and found this album interesting. It's quite clear why he's known as the best guitarist of all time!

A really fine album there are a couple of ones that don’t shine as much as the great ones. Sounds like Hendrix was trying to expand/explore and it’s mostly successful.

Not Hendrix's best album but Hendrix is easily top 5 guitar players all time so that's a hard bunch to pick from honestly

I love a bit of Jimi but whilst this is really sound Psychadelic rock and the musicianship is beyond compare it has never really hit me between the eyes in a way his other albums do.

never heard the full album, some meh weird/experimental tracks but overall high quality. Little wing is such a masterpiece, wow. Im a big chili peppers fan and this was the first time (at least as i remember) hearing the original little miss lover, rhcp one is superior but i guess thats just the tech difference Title track blew me away, great song as well 4/5

I hate myself so much for saying this, I enjoyed listening to that. wtaf, kill me.

Rattles my teeth. Experimental and hazy. Great to listen to through headphones.

Sounds good but not as good as “Are You Experienced”. It’s a little more tongue-in-cheek. But that’s OK, it doesn’t need to be anything more than a vessel for “Little Wing”.

Definitely so bangers. Wacky sounds and just fantastic guitar playing. Favorite songs: little wing, castles made of sand, ain’t no telling

First album by jimi I've listened to. And that last track is brilliant.

Didn't even finish it but will be playing over and over pop off Jimi

Merci pour le pseudo chapatiz

Great but inconsistent. Some fabulous tracks - Little Wing is a classic. But felt slightly lacking by the end. I did try twice because listening to Jimi whilst you’re drifting off is not a good plan. It would be a 3.5 but I’ll give credit where it’s due. He was a tour de force.

Can you imagine if we had more than 4 years of Jimi Hendrix? Hot damn. I love everything about the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Always dug the aural play with the panning sounds. So many bangers on this album Wait Until Tomorrow, If 6 Was 9, Bold as Love. But nothing tops Castles Made of Sand, which I think might be my favorite song of the band. Though that might change when we meet him next on this journey.

Standout songs; Little Wing / Castles Made of Sand

My man! Jimi is legendary. Although a fan, Ive not heard all of his albums so this was a treat. Amazed how many artists tried to keep the songs under 3:30 minutes. A shame. Good stuff here

Psychedelic virtuosity on display…some amazing guitar work on Little wing and Castles made of sand and if 6 were 9, and some noisy songs as well. As an album it’s uneven, and the gems glitter brightly!

Felt like I was hearing the ghost of Voodoo Child the whole time.

first time listening to hendrix aside from the Greatest Hits - immediately understand how/why the guitarists i love cite him as an inspiration. feels like the musical version of when i watched 2001 a space odyssey for the first time and realized virtually everything ive ever watched was just a reference to that film - castles made of sand.. FUCK !!! - theres an art to making a song short and sweet but these are pinkpantheress song lengths and i wish some of these had like an extra 30 seconds - this being recorded in the 60s doesnt make sense to me. insane

never listened to this before but it's definitely a slay. lots of variety

see 4/5 is 80% and this album is definitely better than that but if I compare it to jimi hendrix’s are you experienced (which I’m sure will come on this list some time) I can’t rate it 5/5……I’m sorry…..definitely mr hendrix’s most cohesive album though!! very groovy, very fun. HOWEVER the first time I heard this album was through my dad’s floor standing speakers which he got when he was in uni in the 90’s and that’s probably the best way to hear this album (besides at a live venue obviously) ‘cause today I heard it through cheap wired earphones while washing dishes and it just didn’t hit the same…..these riffs were meant to be played live!!! loud and surrounding you from all sides. I think that’s the only reason I’m able to rank this album lower than are you experienced/electric ladyland…..those albums survive being earphonified better. fave songs from it: spanish castle magic, bold as love, castles made of sand it’s not my Favorite favorite but people usually rank you got me floatin’ as one of the weaker songs in the album so I gotta say it has some of my favorite riffs from the entire album. undeserved low ranking.

First time hearing any of these songs aside from Little Wing! Really enjoyed the album but it's a 4.5 for me- it can't be 5 stars because Electric Ladyland is a step above, sorry :( I'll definitely be coming back to this album in the future. For Real Life Changing: Spanish Castle Magic, Little Wing (makes me remember that guitar is my favorite instrument in the world) Great: Exp, Up From the Skies (very fun lyrics, love when a 60s album mentions global warming), One Rainy Wish, Little Miss Lover, Bold As Love (saved by the final guitar solos) Very very good but not quite there for me as a whole: Wait Until Tomorrow (funky!! too British sounding), Ain't No Telling, If 6 Was 9, Castles Made of Sand Eh. Whatever: You Got Me Floatin and She's So Fine

Loving so far. Great background music. Keen to listen to again so I can sing along.

Good album.

Nice and psychedelic 👍

I almost refuse to rate any of what little Hendrix there is anything lower than a 4.5, but I will try to give this album an honest listen. Spanish Castle Magic If 6 Was 9 Little Miss Lover

Ok *this* is the Hendrix album. So much better than the aimless Electric Ladyland to follow. Amazingly I don't think I'd ever actually listened to this album all the way through, having not ever truly connected w/ The Experience's music but this is definitely my favourite of Hendrix' 3 JHE albums. Pretty much the entire album is great but in particular "Spanish Castle Magic" "Little Wing" of course and "If 6 Was 9" all especially kick hard. Maybe my biggest complaint about Hendrix in this band is that they weren't the best songwriters but these are more compact and work better for me. Irony: One of my favourites is the longest track - "If 6 Was 9" TL;DR: Yeah this is the shit - lots of good tunes, some of which I honestly wish were a little longer but I CAN DIG IT. 8/10 4 stars.

Not my usual music, but you can't argue with this album's greatness. The guitar on this album is so influential and incredible, very easy to listen to and get caught up in.

Great Essential Dylan!

Pure Hendrix. Fun album to listen to.

Rough start but very good

Opens with the highly experimental "EXP", but also contains the massive "Little Wing", and one of my favourites, the heavy "If Six Was Nine". Other highlights include "Castles Made of Sand" and "Bold As Love".

Love this album!

so fresh so fun!!!

Interesting album. It’s Hendrix so it’s great but probably his weakest. Has the problem a lot of 60s albums have of having a mix that’s just a little Jackie when listening on headphones

Gott stöff. Titillagið er alveg frábært.

Very good, one of his best

I have never heard all but a handful of these songs. Great album!

Favourite tracks: bold as love; little wing; wait until tomorrow; esp

Gem of the psychedelic age

groovy and ageless

Wasn't to interested at the start of the album but it picks up as it goes, liked very much "one rainy wish". Another highlight was "bold as love" with a great solo at the end. Obviously amazing guitars through the album.

Jimi the goat

My boy Jimi always coming through with the brain scratching music. HOLY SHIT “EXP” THAT MOVES THROUGH MY BRAIN SO GOOD OMG. That guitar in “Spanish Castle Magic” damnnnn. I really liked “Little Wing”. Help “If 6 Were 9” was so left ear heavy, lowkey this whole album has been. I feel like I’m being overstimulated by this album. It’s good asf don’t get me wrong but my brain has been scratched enough like I don’t need anymore. “She’s So Fine” and “One Rainy Wish” like tickles my brain yk. Oooooo the guitar in “Bold As Love” is really really nice.

So so good

Today should be a fun album. I’ve listened to a Jimi Hendrix already which I loved, so I stay hopeful here too. Glancing at the track list, I’m not sure there is anything here that I’ll recognise, but you never know. I’ll be really surprised if I don’t enjoy this. Also, I like how trippy the cover art is. Songs I already knew: none Favourites: Spanish Castle Magic, If 6 Was 9 I got a little worried with the intro track EXP as it was really strange, and got me worrying about if it was going to be some bizarre experimental rock. Thankfully, after this track we get to exactly what we expect, with excellent guitar playing with funk rock licks abound. I likely said this after the other Hendrix album, but I don’t feel like people appreciate Jimi’s voice as much as they should as his guitar playing overshadows this, but his deep smooth vocals are so lovely.

I'm glad that songs like She's So Fine exist. They prove just how vital Jimi's voice was to this band. When he's not at the front of the song, The Experience goes from astonishing to mediocre really fast. It's easy to talk about his guitar playing, sure. And a lot of snobby critics have less-than-positive things to say about his vocal chops, but man, the dude had a perfect fucking voice for taking rock music to its next logical state (which he pretty much single-handedly did). Yeah, this album's a certified banger. Take away She's So Fine and anything where Jimi's not the main character, and it's pretty much perfect. I'm five years older now than Jimi was when he died. What does that say about me? I don't know, maybe nothing, but maybe not. I think about this a lot.

There are some really great songs on here that I've never properly listened to before. Old Jimi was many years ahead of his time.

It's Hendrix, it's great. Is it as good as "Are You Experienced" or "Electric Ladyland"? No. It's definitely the weakest of the three. But Hendrix's weakest album still crushes most artists' best.

Jimi does Jimi things and it works. 'Little Wing' and 'Castles Made of Sand' just rock.

The length of Axis: Bold As Love is perfect, the musicianship of the trio is insane and songs like "Little Wing" and "Castles Made of Sand" are legendary. Hendrix pretty much changed rock and I love him for it. But, with the exception of the US version of the debut, none of his albums stand out as perfect to me. Many of the songs do. His live performances do. But not always the albums. Re-reading this I realise that it sounds like, I hate this. I don't. Not at all. But it is Hendrix, which means I expect nothing short of perfection.

Great album! Favourite tracks are Rainy Wish, Wait until tomorrow, Little Wing, Spanish Castle Magic, and Bold as Love. I enjoyed how Hendrix mixed or juxtaposes different sounds on the recording, it's cheeky and makes it interesting. To me this really is a 4.5 rating, but I can't do half ratings here :)

Of the three albums by Hendrix that are on the list, this is the one that I had always felt was the weakest. It's a great album, but in comparison to "Electric Ladyland" and "Are You Experienced?" I'm like... "Yeah, it's good. But I'd listen to the other two first if I had a choice." I mean, it has some great / good relistenable tunes to it: "Spanish Castle Magic", "If 6 Was 9," "Wait Until Tomorrow," "Little Wing," "Castles Made Of Sand," "Bold As Love". But for all those, there are some that you just don't think of: "You Got Me Floatin'," "Up From The Skies," "One Rainy Wish," "She's So Fine" (sorry Noel, this should have gone on your solo album). "Little Miss Lover" is kind of on the fence for me. I think part of is that it came out so close to "Are You Experienced?" it is really not noticed as much. It's good, but a lot of fair to good songs that are forgettable to me.

Not as good as their first album but then that was a tough act to follow. This is still pretty good; sneaky good. It really grows on you and you start to realize how good Hendrix was at composing songs and you're reminded just how good all three were as musicians. If you like uptempo Hendrix (think Crosstown Traffic from Electric Ladyland), the 3-song sequence from Spanish Castle Magic to Wait Until Tomorrow to Ain't No Telling will be up your alley. Blazing. You Got Me Floatin has similar vibes. If you want more bluesy, slower tempo Hendrix (think Hey Joe) then you need to check out Little Wings, Castles Made of Sand, One Rainy Wish, or the title track. Personally, I think If 6 was 9 is the best song on this album. It showcases Hendrix, Mitchell and Redding - pulsing bass and drum lines to go with sweet guitar licks. And it oozes cool with Hendrix' lyrics and varied vocal delivery. Maybe not their best work, but still very solid.

Exp- The intro track features abnormal sounds, and at the end it shifts to rock. The track in question starts off with a question if aliens are real, in which Jimi answers no. Most likely he tells a tale as if they actually were (6.5) Up From The Skies- Jimi talks about a change in the world that is coming’s its all the current problems, and begs this person, maybe Mother Earth, to let him see and hear everything that will change (7) Spanish Castle Magic- Jimi is talking to his girl, convincing her all her doubts are purely fabrications in her mind, and that they need to run wild, as paralleled by the ‘Spanish Castle Magic’ (8) Wait Until Tomorrow- Jimi was excited about taking his girl and running away together, but she insists on waiting one more day, signaling she has some doubts about everything (8) Aint No Tellin- Jimi leaves without his girl, even though he doesn't want to. However, he desires the adventure more, so he bodes her farewell (7.5) Little Wing- Jimi is back to daydreaming about his girl, a girl who’s imagination runs free as she has the same desire as him, to run free (9) If 6 was 9- Jimi talks about conformity, and how he is against the idea of needing to do what society tells u to do. Rather, he will live life as he wants to, and die when its his time (9.5) You Got Me Floatin’- Jimi is driven mad my his new love interest, who makes him float at the sight of her (9) Castles Made Of Sand- A sadder song about how castles made of sand, a parallel of people who have some disease or suffering will always get washed away, or die (9.5) She’s So Fine- Another song about Jimi’s love, but not as appealing as the previous (6.5) One Rainy Wish- Once again, Jimi courts a woman, this time claiming the first time he laid his eyes on her she instantly stole his heart, and he became obsessed with her (8.5) Little Miss Lover- This time, Jimi doesn't just watch his girl from a distance, he approaches her and immediately gets to the point, and wants to make her his (7) Bold As Love- Jimi finally comes to term with his girl, and although he is scared, he trust in the boldness of the love, and pushes forward (10) Summary: My first Jimi Hendrix experience, my favorite rock album so far, although the total of that count is no greater than 3. Great production with the drums and instruments all coming together to paint this album about the mysteries of love; OVERALL: 8.2/10

Hendrix truly helped reinvent what the guitar could be. I prefer Are You Experienced, but there's still much to be appreciated on album 2

Awesome album, experimental but coherent. Love Jimi

I would probably give this 5 stars if it didn’t have a slide whistle featured and Desolation Row was slightly shorter. I just can’t hold on for that long. Strong 4.5

Dude shreds

This is the second Jimi Hendrix album that I've gotten on this list, the first being Are You Experienced (I love that this means that I'll get to experience all three of Jimi Hendrix's albums in their release order). I really enjoyed listening to this album. All of the elements that I enjoyed on Are You Experienced are present here too: great guitar playing, great song writing, and a unique psychedelic sound. However, I think Axis is the slightly better album of the two. I know that this album was released merely seven months after Experienced, but somehow the band's sound is more complete on this album. I don't know if it's just better songwriting, or if everyone just gelled better on this album. Sure, this album doesn't have a "Purple Haze" or a "Fire," but the album as a complete work is just a better experience. Favorite track: If 6 Was 9

Enjoyed it. 4/5

A wonderful classic album where Jimi expresses complex emotions and gives us a number of timeless songs. John Mayer's cover of Bold as Love is nearly as good as the original, but nothing quite hits the notes like Jimi singing it.

3-4. Tendency to 4

Pas autant aimé que Are you Experienced mais ça reste un bon album de Jimi Hendrix. Je l'ai seulement trouvé un peu plus lassant par moments. Je devrais définitivement l'écouter dans un meilleur mindset pour mieux l'apprécier. 7/10

Smooth, cool, technically brilliant... and just a little too noisy for a 5.

More variety than the debut album. More R&B elements for sure. Really good songs. Amazing this came out just months after the debut. Things happened quickly in music in the '60s.

Fresh soul based guitar rock

Dark mofos caught me slacking on these, really enjoyed this listen. Fav track Little wings

I'm back! Good stuff from Jimi. Can get quite frustrated with psychedelic noodles but this was pretty reserved in terms of wanton floweriness. This album feels like kickin back and livin free. Not one I'm gonna have on all the time but the appeal is very much there. Three and a half. Fave track: If 6 Was 9

Snuck a brief listen in - Hendrix was someone I had never fully gravitated to before but had no major complaints from this spin. Soulful, rhythmic, groovy. Not heaps of above the rest standouts but a couple tracks I’ll return to. Three and a half. Fave track: Castles Made of Sand

Great Hendrix album. The title track is my favourite song of his.

Little Wing is Jimi Hendrix on full power, turning the guitar into a sacrament reminding us of the mystery and majesty of love

Possibly his best all round album and sparked John Mayer's whole career.

Shes So Fine is a skippable song making this album 4 stars instead of 5

Few stand out tracks here. Loved the final song 'Bold as Love'. The opening track I didn't really like but then into 'Spanish Castle Magic' it all turned around for the better. I like Hendrix track that you feel him let rip on and there's a few on here.

Yeah love me some hippy shit. Dude had the riffs. A track or two I didn't care for but overall a groovy, psychedelic rock record

Axis: Bold As Love is the second of three albums that The Jimi Hendrix Experience released while Jimi was alive, and it is the worst. That does not mean it is bad! I really enjoyed this album, but the experience (heh) of listening to it is lacking compared to the other two. It lacks the tuneful singles found on Are You Experienced?, such as Hey Joe or Purple Haze, and lacks the punch of Crosstown Traffic or All Along The Watchtower, as well as the lengthy jam that is Voodoo Chile. But it doesn't falter—the songs are all good, with tight performances and great vocals from Jimi. Perhaps with time, I can come to appreciate it as much as the other two Experience records, but for now this occupies the bottom of the hierarchy. Favorite songs: Bold As Love, Spanish Castle Magic 4-4.5/5

Exceedingly cool. Hendrix is a genius and as a power trio, this lot is so much more versatile and interesting than Cream. "Little Wing"and "Spanish Castle Magic" and "Castles Made of Sand" are all teriffic but the noodling in between and jamming on top of the powerful rhythm section – which is a serious power train. Shockingly good.

Axis: Bold as Love roars in, making alien sounds like nothing else. It's a noisy, scary experience and it rules. The rest of the album is par-for-the-course Hendrix. That is to say: really good. It's consistent in it's delivery and a worthy slot in the Hendrix discography.

Great album front to back, enjoyed every song especially “Spanish Castle Magic” and “Bold as Love” 8/10

It's hard to say that this is not one of the best albums I've ever listened to, but this is my point of view. Hendrix is a master, but listening to his songs in a row like this album doesn't cause an ecstasy sensation like getting some of his live presentations randomly in some social network feed. Maybe it's a matter of the day's mood, though, I don't know. "Spanish Castle Magic" was new to me, and it is the best song on the album.

Pretty great actually... Never really listened to Jimi before, but it was super groovy and easy listening... Tried it a few times :D reminded me of Lenny Kravitz . . would definitely listen again, and might be more open to other albums

I wasn't familiar with most of these songs, but they all have a utterly distinct sound that I only identify with Jimi Hendrix. Brilliant musician, though this album was a little hard to get into, especially starting with that weird UFO soundtrack. There is some incredible and timeless stuff on here though, like Spanish Castle Magic.

Great musicianship across the board. For a 3-member band, this is truly a masterful performance. A couple of standouts including Little Wing and Spanish Castle Magic, but I need to give the others a relisten. 4/5

Love the way this album opens on such a crazy note with "EXP". Kind of BOLD if you ask me (ha ha) to start off an album with almost 2 minutes of a silly skit. So, being a big JM blues guy, it was very cool hearing what a huge Jimi is in John's big salad of a guitar style (dare I say he and the Trio did "Wait Until Tomorrow" better on "Try!"? Maybe.) To me this record feels like, to make a videogame reference, the Super Mario Bros. of the rock realm. It was complicated behind the scenes but Jimi made it seem easy. Sure, there are new games out today that are more "exciting" than Super Mario Bros. but you gotta give credit where credit is due. From Page to Frusciante, SRV to JM, Hendrix can be found in their tone. In their melodies. In their licks. This album gave the world a lot. This is all not even mentioning Jimi's lyrics. He was a poet for sure.

A lot of the time I think that Hendrix’s guitar is sloppy, but there were a lot of good songs on here

First Jimi Hendrix album! You can’t knock this! So good! Inventive, magical. 4/5

A solid round of psych rock again from the man himself, but this is honestly the weakest of his three studio albums in my opinion.

I mean its great, such a unique sound....out there at times one thing this reminded me is that Jimi had a crazy ability obviously to SHRED but also the licks, and non lead guitar work is so awesome too.

Great album, Jimi Hendrix is always enjoyable. Catchy songs, incredible guitar work, and no song was boring. 8/10, doesn't hit the level of Experienced but it still a great album.

You can't really go wrong with Hendrix, can you? "Little Wing" by itself is worth the full price of admission on this one. This album has several of Jimi Hendrix's best songs on it, which more than make up for most of its shortcomings... most of them. For all of Hendrix's natural genius and charisma as a performer, some of the psychedelic wanderings are more grating than I honestly expected them to be. And that Noel Redding song is just plain bad. Ultimately, the album suffers a bit from a lack of cohesion stylistically, and there is more filler than I thought Hendrix had in him. As albums of this era go though, Axis is still one of the greats. Fave Songs: Little Wing, Spanish Castle Magic, You've Got Me Floating, Castles Made of Sand, Bold as Love, One Rainy Wish

This was one of my first albums, and first Hendrix record. Haven't listened in its entirety in decades, but amazing how so much comes back. Love Hendrix, and the album has amazing tracks like Little Wing, If 6 was 9, and Castles Made of Sand - but like Electric Ladyland it does feel a bit uneven. And strange choices for order (strange to start with the very odd EXP) and inclusion (She's So Fine). But when it shines it shines. 9 stars, rounded down.

An effortlessly amazing LP defined by how at ease Hendrix feels throughout – this isn't a performance or production, just Jimi expressing pure feeling by means of his guitar. The lack of any kind of artistic facade felt wonderfully refreshing and meant I was able to tune purely into the sheer wonder that is Hendrix's musicianship. A spectacular listen, and one I will be returning to often.

Between 3-4, some parts are a little too experimental but also some real gems.

Seems in line with Are you experienced and electric ladyland. Quality, but I still don’t get the fuss, after 30 years.

Not my favorite Hendrix album, but some good tracks on here, namely Little Miss Lover and Castles Made of Sand

up from the skies soundscape is wonderful mane. what on earth is he doing with the guitar. this album was recorded so cleanly. the drums are class in wait until tomorrow. the panning is so well executed in the mix across the board. aint no telling goes ham. these cats are cookin. little wing guitar is just perfect what the hell. I get why people say Jimi Hendrix is the goat. these bass grooves oh my gawh . chorus fell kind of flat in if 6 was 9. bass is still going ham along with these drums dame. again the guitar switching sides each phrase here is done so cleanly. Is this the best song yet? longest song and most bold. this is an album to be heard in headphones !!! the album cover really sums up the sounds. this album is similar to Getz Gilberto in that it works very effectively thanks to the limited number of instruments. Here its only drums, bass guitar on every song and its likely much the better for it. Guitar on castles in the sand is most pushing of the button. the reversed guitar in left ear sounds incredible. vocals sound great. oh this is a great song. first song that I've noticed great lyricism. the drums on here are really really impressive. one rainy wish- guitar phrase layering just before hook is brilliant. wow wow wow. putting the lead vocals just wherever in the pan is a wild mixing choice that works perfectly within the sounds of this album. fuck yeah. little miss lover drums are once again great. this would be a great album to test headphones with. noo I'm on the last song. what's really impressive in this album is that the drums and bass are as cool as the guitar and the guitar is really really really cool. if you like guitar this last song is for you. overall: this is great!!!!!!! these are the notes I made while listening btw x

I wasn't familiar with this album what WHAT a corker. I listened multiple times on Friday and it put me in such a good mood. Just the best sexy, cool music isn't it. I discovered some new faves I'll be listening to more regularly as well

Pretty good stuff Jimi

More Jimi songs I like: Little Wing - This one spoke to me, felt really good listening to it with Alexis working on the couch and Crumb asleep on her bean bag chair. Bold as Love

groovey baby

It's all good. But EXP is arguably the worse start to an album ever.

Really enjoyed this!

Woah, they really have to use an actual religious image huh? Anyway, this record sent me to space.

No fucking around from Hendrix and Co, who chug through a dizzying array of songs, particular highlights being ‘Spanish Castle Magic’, ‘Wait Until Tomorrow’, and ‘You’ve Got Me Floating’. There are a couple of weak spots, but this was pretty good overall.

Teetering between 4 and 5 I will finally settle at 4. I liked it but not an album I would pop on after some time.

I enjoyed this more than I expected. Maybe because there are quite a few mellow songs.

Probably my favourite Hendrix album. This is an artist growing in strength and confidence.

It was good and it was short 4/5

Not quite as good as Are You Experienced or Electric Ladyland for me, but still some amazing tracks on here.

It feels blasphemous to give any Jimi Hendrix record anything but a 5/5, so I will be giving Axis: Bold as Love a 5/5. There's always been so much talk around Jimi being the greatest guitarist of all time. I don't know if one guitarist can fairly hold that title. Maybe there's a flexible top 10? Or a top 10 for genres or time periods? It's hard for me to say that Jimi is greater than others in different musical spaces, like virtuoso classical guitarist Andres Segovia who is equally as impressive, but plays the guitar so different than Jimi that it's almost a different instrument. Is Jimi even better than someone who doesn't have all of the tools, isn't flashy, but writes amazing music on the instrument? I think the songs of The Beatles are more straightforwardly impressive (in terms of the basic building blocks of harmony + melody) than Jimi's original music, so would that make an argument for George Harrison or John Lennon as being in the same realm of guitarring? This is why I don't really love "who is the best at X" conversations when it comes to music/art but I feel obligated to mention it when Jimi is brought up. I'm struggling a little with where to rate this one. This album is amazing. It has "Little Wing", and "Castles Made of Sand". I don't know if I like it as much as "Are You Experienced?", which has "Foxey Lady", "Manic Depression", "Hey Joe", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Fire", and Jimi's most famous track "Purple Haze". Purple Haze is one of the best guitar riffs of all time- probably a top 10 for me. The 2 huge tracks on this album would also be as equally good as the huge tracks on "Are You Experienced", but I think AYE just has this one beat by the sheer amount of amazing songs. For that reason, I gotta give this album a 4/5. It's a high one- I wish this website allowed for 0-100 ratings. This is a 4.9 in my eyes (ears) and AYE is 5.0.

It's a good listen, but it just lacks that something that makes both Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland exceptional.

This one is really interesting as I have never understood Hendrix before, apart from outliers like All Along The Watchtower, but this one just hit different. I really liked the funkier songs on here like Wait Until Tomorrow

Jimi Hendrix a son propre son et son identité, c'est une valeur sûre, on sait ce qu'on va avoir. J'ai préféré cet album à Are You Experienced, j'ai de la difficulté à l'expliquer. Peut-être parce que le côté expérimental est bien présent, mais s'accompagne de chansons de forme plus «traditionnelle».

Possibly the best psychedelic album every made, and also some fantastic stereo effects as it was a new toy. Solid songwriting and of course some of the greatest guitar playing ever.

Solid. I liked this a lot. Not sure what else to say, it's good music.

Finally the blues rockers are taking acid.

Jimi Hendrix was cool. His music exudes coolness. Bit sometimes it only leaves me warm.

It's Hendrix. What's not to like? A lot.

Highly recommend listening with headphones because the spatial effects are just awesome Groovy, good vibes

Excellent blues filled guitar leads dominate this record but in usual Hendrix fashion the guitar acrobatics seldom ever get in the way of the songwriting, which is the real heart of the music here. There's lots of energy here but, moreso than the debut, there is also a lot of beautiful ballady type songs. Something like little wing is so delicate yet so intricate in its composition, but it doesn't just linger on the expressive guitar work and also gives room for Jimis gruff vocal delivery.

Knew this would be a good album with that UFO opening. And wild album cover too. I’ve never listened to this album before, but I’ve heard little wing and if 6 was 9 but it’s been forever and I really dug them. Also Bold As Love is on here and I forgot Jimi did that song Too! This was a fantastic album to start the new year.

Another from the legend, still waiting on the debut. To me this is the weakest of their three studio albums before Jimi passed, but it's still very strong, that's testament to how great he was and this band was. Very exploratory, a good bit of genre bending. The guitar work, as expected, is otherworldly. Tracks like "Little Wing" and "Castles Made of Sand" are embedded in my brain, especially the reversed guitar tracks on the latter song. Such a shame that we lost this guy as early as we did, he remains unparalleled as a visionary in making the guitar into something much more than an instrument. In his hands, it's alive. Favorite tracks: Castles Made of Sand, Little Wing, If 6 Was 9, Bold as Love, Spanish Castle Magic, One Rainy Wish. Album art: One of the greats, to be sure. Love, love, love this art style, and sacrilegious as it may be, the portrayal of Jimi as some celestial god kind of makes sense. 4.5/5

Mostly very excellent, love the guitar sound. Just some songs that are a bit too messy

Great album. Shows of his genius quite well :)

This was pretty good. The instrumental was probably the best of it, really good guitar rifts throughout songs

Never underestimate what a genius Hendrix was.

A classic from one of the best all time. Many great songs. Obviously Little Wing, which might be the best known song off this record, but I always loved If 6 was 9 as a great statement for Jimi’s mindset and thoughts about freedom and expression. This was also the first Jimi album I ever bought, and always loved the artwork of the cover inner sleeves.

Great album. Love going back to this one. Jimi's riffs are unforgettable and this album holds so many great songs. A nice chill rock album. Only track is didn’t care for was “she’s so fine”. 8/10 Fav tracks: Spanish castle magic, little wing, castles made of sand

"Little Wing," "Wait Until Tomorrow," "If 6 was 9," and "Castles Made of Sand" automatically make this a 3 or 4 stars out of 5. The songs are a little more tightly crafted than those on his first album, though it's probably not as revolutionary. I get some R&B influence, some jazz, and some experimentation. He's got a vision for where he wants his music to go and he's working through it on this record.

Smooth and psychedelic. I liked this quite a lot but some of the songs were a little forgettable. Still a good one though. Favourite - Spanish Castle Magic

Such a fun listen. I love everything about the instrument

A new one to me and I enjoyed this. I am less familiar with these songs, so need to play this again to give a meaningful critique, but generally enjoyed the flow and the feel of it. A big range of style and moods here, swinging from the full-on feedback noise of Exp straight into Up From The Skies. One to revisit.

Hendrix smashes another great album out merely months after his debut. Psychedelic rock looking at aliens, magic castles, mermaids and probably looking at how we could go about fucking all of them. The only thing keeping it from a 5 is the most stupid decision in production history to fade out on the Little Wing end solo. Best Tracks: Little Wing; Castles Made of Sand; Bold as Love

-I love the alternation between simple, driving drum beat and lyrics and the full scale jams on "Spanish Castle Magic" -Drums and Bass be going kinda crazy on "Wait Until Tomorrow" -"Little Wing" isn't that crazy to me, but I know it is quite highly praised. Not bad, just not a particularly standout track -"If 6 Was 9" has a cool groove going to it and then goes to a wonky psychedelic jam -"You Got Me Floatin'" is a solid, catchy tune with a sweet jam to finish it off -"She's So Fine" is like a weird mix of an old Beatles tune a psychedelic rock -All the tracks are good, but many of them lack some sort of oomph to make them strong Jimi Hendrix tracks. Not too much really sticks in my head as particularly crazy. Again, it is all very good, but it isn't up to the level of other Hendrix stuff I have heard. Straddling the border between 4 and 5

Skills

Very interesting, but I need to listen to it again in the future

it was good. Not as good as the first but still pretty rad

It’s Jimi Hendrix, you know his stuff! I liked this less than “Are You Experienced”, but still a great time

👍Hendrix👍

Great album overall i would say that the slower songs weren't so great i liked to more dynamic more

60´s sound timeless jimi

Good album that I don't think I'd heard before. Not many songs I was that familiar with. I enjoyed it though, for sure. 3.75/5

Is it Jimi’s weakest album? From the Experience, yeah probably (although I think Ladyland is less consistent), but it still flourishes with great ideas throughout. The best stuff sounds like the logical evolution from Experienced, while the weaker stuff sounds like B-sides. B+

It's Jimi goddamn Hendrix.

Awesome album. Last song on the album is incredible.

Good vibe, bit too psychedelic for me on some parts, but definitely some nice songs. Can hear the influence

I've listened to a couple different "Best of..." compilations from Jimi Hendrix, in addition to a couple of other full albums, including one for this list. Only two of the tracks from Axis: Bold As Love seemed familiar to me, and both of them are on my list of songs that I would chose to listen to again. I like almost anyone's version of "Little Wing", and "Castles Made of Sand" catches me with the music as well as the lyrics. The lyrics in "Castles Made of Sand" seem to always get me to sit and try to follow along with the images being described. "She's So Fine" was the surprise new addition to my personal playlist. The drums and backing vocals had hooks that drew me in. "She's So Fine" emphasises the quality of the rest of the band backing up Hendrix. Hearing Noel Redding take the lead was a present surprise. This album is solid and easily replayable.

Not really my style of music but I can appreciate the guitar

Oooh yeh

Goed album, gitaarwerk van Hendrix is legendarisch voor een reden.

Jimi Hendrix

This Hendrix guy is like pretty good at guitar

Truly a seminal album from Hendrix. You can hear and see his style in this album and his guitar playing and songwriting ability is on full display. Not my favorite album of his, but still top notch!

I have never listening to a Hendrix album, I only know his stuff in the every present social culture of his hits, inclusion on soundtracks/comps etc. This album is great, and a lot more noisy and disjointed than I was expecting--in a very good way. Dude rips for sure.

Warm voice, spectacular guitar, the other 2 aren't half bad either.

The first two songs had me a little worried, because they felt meh and were missing significant guitar sections. But it definitely picked up by the third song. Not his most impressive album, but still magnificent from a musical and enjoyment perspective.

Rating: 8/10 Best songs: Spanish castle magic, Wait until tomorrow, Little wing

I like this album. The songs mostly jump into life and they are inventive. JHs work as astonishing. It feels like its recorded live which is good. Little Wing and the title track are classics. Its a tad indulgent at times but i think that is part of its charm. 4 I think.

For me this album is not as good as are you experienced or electric ladyland but it's still an absolute classic. 4.5* instead of 5*. Fave tracks: castles made of sand, little wing and if 6 was 9.

Why is Little Wing so short. It's just getting started and it ends, I want more. Patchier and scratchier than the debut certainly but still some stonkers here.

3.5 - Hendrix gonna Hendrix

first 2 songs sucked lol Ain't no telling - zany, upbeat, cocaine-fuelled guitar strangling Little Wing - classic and sexy If 6 was 9 -

Hendrix is a weird one I actually don’t really listen to him, his music is good in fact very good. You cannot deny how good he is at guitar. I know all his albums kinda. This is the weakest of the three though 4/5

The Hendrix album I am least familiar with, I reckon. Gets off to a bit of a rocky start, but soon hits its groove. Fave track - "If 6 was 9", perhaps? "Castles Made of Sand" and "Bold As Love" are both contenders too...

8/10. I feel like I liked this better than some Hendrix albums I've heard.

Probably my least favorite of the three Hendrix albums. Still quite good. 8/10

iconic

Massa massa

Doesn't maintain the highs all the way through but how high they are

I really liked it, liked pretty much every song. I had to go back and remind myself what each song sounded like though, it just flowed to I couldn’t tell when songs would change(which is good or bad)

As expected, Jimi is excellent. It has now been added to the list...

I never liked Hendrix before but this album was nice

First half is stellar and 'Little Wing' alone is worth the price of admission. Second half lags a little though with 'Castles Made of Sand' the only major highlight.

first listen groovy

Great tunes. The guitar work is so technical and yet so smooth and dreamy. What a god.

Great album. Fun revisit

Another 50/50 album. Although maybe more like 70/30. Pretty good on the whole

I don't really like the mix on this, there's nothing natural about it. No doubt some of the effects they were using would've been revolutionary. Fond memories of Castles Made of Sand being played on road trips.

I was in a different headspace when I first listened to this album for this project (I had listened before), and didn't remember what rating I would have given it, so I decided to re-listen. Oh no, listening to Jimi Hendrix again :) 1. Exp- I may try to ignore this song so it doesn't unfairly torpedo my ranking of the whole album. It was acoustically upsetting and I was looking forward to it being over. 2. Up from the Skies- I've always liked this song and still do. I like when Jimi is a little bit chill :) 3. Spanish Castle Magic- A little heavier than I'm usually in the mood for, but it's done well. 4. Wait Until Tomorrow- One of my favorite songs on the album. I like how it has more of a hint of strutting soul in places than most of his tracks. 5. Ain't No Telling- Solid album track. 6. Little Wing- Good guitar, which, duh, but the opening made me just want to close my eyes and listen. It isn't one of my very favorites overall, but it's a nice one from this album. 7. If 6 Was 9- Good lyrics, good guitar. It was too intense for me on my first 1,001 albums listen, but I enjoyed it a bit more the second time. It does still go a little too sharp and trippy toward the end for me, though. 8. You Got Me Floatin'- This one is fine, nothing special for me. 9. Castles Made of Sand- Pretty sounds but depressing lyrics. I also don't get the last verse. 10. She's So Fine- Weird to hear a different voice on a Hendrix album, but apparently Noel Redding got to do this thing. It has a little more of a "traditional" late '60s rock sound, but it's likable. 11. One Rainy Wish- Not remarkable, but it was fine :) 12. Little Miss Lover- At the very beginning it reminded me of Tommy Roe's Dizzy (which came out after, so there you go) but I was like, what else does it remind me of? Oh, Foxy Lady LOL 13. Bold As Love- This wraps up the album well. Oh that guitar at the end bumps it up a little :) Going song-by-song has made me a little pickier than I would have been, so I should call this a 4.5 instead of just 4. Even with the songs I don't like as well, I can almost listen to this album all the way through. (Some days I know I couldn't take the sadness on Castles Made of Sand, and in an ideal world I skip Exp every time.)

Super interesting album. The instrumentation, specifically the guitar work, was phenomenal (it's Jimi Hendrix, what did you expect?). The basslines also stood out to me, and I thought they fit each song very well. Seeing the vocal and lyrical prowess of Hendrix on this album was also very fun, and I feel like it's overshadowed by his guitar playing. No matter the case, this album, albeit short and sweet, is certainly solid and worth a listen.

Little Wing is great, as expected

Trippy cover, trippy album, though what they have to do with each other is unclear. Listening to any individual song is rewarding, but is isn't an easy listen, not to me at least. I was particularly entranced with One Rainy Wish. My favorite on the album is Little Wing. All in all a pretty amazing work of art.

Some of this is not perfect, but a lot of it is perfect. Little Wing is one of those songs that defines Hendrix. The Rolling Stones would only be so lucky to put together 2:25 like that, and they have tried...like all the time. Castles Made of Sand is another masterpiece. This is Hendrix at his lyrical best, but also maybe some of his rhythm guitar best. Like I said some of this is messy, but what a follow up to Are You Experienced. It doesn't reach the heights of that one, but damn close.

Amazing cover art, interesting album

3.5 stars

Very pleasant. Fun stereo effects and memorable melodies.

The bridging link between AYE and EL. Some songs play like basic psychedelic rock, others play like the heavy rock and blues influenced EL. I'm more partial to the latter, but the whole record is pretty nice, with some relaxing moods and heavy tracks. Favorite tracks: "Spanish Castle Magic", "Little Wing", "Ain't No Telling"

Classic rock sound, not listened to much Hendrix before and liked the songwriting and guitar work but also surprised by the drums. Good stuff.

I don't think it's the best of his albums, but it's still class.

Good use of a stereo mix throughout the album.

Elements of metal, blues, prog and experimental rock. All of this coming from a trio.

Classic Hendrix. Love it

You got Me Floatin Wait until Tomorrow Castles Made of Sand

What can I say i like jimi Hendrix

What can you say? Classic. A very specific moment in music and the world that coagulated into a cultural high point that couldn't happen again the same way.

Incredible talent, just not for me. Probably 3 stars

Great guitar, Hendrix was a virtuoso.

It really had that generic Jimi Hendrix vibe, kinda outlandish and interesting. The guitar playing in this album is amazing, you zone out when he is just shredding on the guitar.

I punkish friend of one of my sisters taped this for me when I was 14 back in 1987. He'd taken the liberty of excluding Exp and the Noel Redding track, which was a good call. This is the first time I listened to this album since the early 90s but it still is a sonic blast and Hendrix was a true pathfinder. I had forgotten what a good lyricist he was, especially with Little Wing and Castles Made of Sand. Got me listening to a bunch of other Hendrix today which isn't not a bad thing

A classic, very good

Wegweisendes Album, aber für mich zum durchhören zu abgepacet…

drums and guitar and chill

201121 11:36 4

This album is a treat.

Little Wing might be my ATF guitar picking song. Jimi is at his finest. Shame they decided to fade early and keep the song at less than 2 1/2 min. Jimi's live versions keep it going for another minute. This song is a perfect showcase for guitar players to strut their stuff. Clapton's live version was 3 x as long to allow more soloing time. Stevie Ray did a 7 min cover version and he never got around to singing the verses. Some of the experimental stuff, including the first track " Exp", was worth a try but didn't really work imo. "If 6 was 9" is an interesting experiment. Could we label this the precursor to the drum & bass genre? It's nice that Jimi gives his bass player and drummer a chance to be front and centre. The psychedelic drumming and bits following the false stop in Bold as Love are enjoyable as are the two castle songs. Overall not Jimi's best LP but still quite good.

This album really showcases Jimi's creativity. It has an experimental feel to it, especially If 6 was 9, which is free form jazz-ish (is the loon sound at the end really a guitar??) and the way he jumps from funkier tracks to hard rock to ballads. There are 3-4 classic songs and the guitar playing is other-worldly.

Very interesting.

I really dig it

His first album is probably still my favorite, but the songs that dial back the psychedelics are great.

Just wow, but careful about listening to the first track with any sort of hangover - although the stereo effects are pretty cool.

Really enjoyed this one, strong 4 that could go up over time. Some great songwriting and guitar melodies, I would probably appreciate it even more if I were a guitar player myself

Little wing and castles are standout - lovely musicianship but as an album is not the most balanced

it's pretty good

Was an interesting listen, sets a nice vibe

Thom Yorke said "anyone can play guitar." And that's totally true. If you have a guitar, I guess. But not just anyone can play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix. Most songs are just a bit too short - I wanted them to keep going! And then "If 6 Was 9" showed why keeping things short was a good thing. Leave them wanting more, don't wear out your welcome. And certainly not with a weird flute solo. Was that a flute? It was weird. The song with Noel Redding vocals was also weird, and yanked me right out of the album's flow. Aside from those two minor issues, "Axis: Bold as Love" is a great glimpse at the brilliance of Hendrix. And if it was just the guitar work, that would be enough. But Jimi proves his voice works so well in his style, and that he can blend seamlessly with the Experience to create a full sound that isn't overwhelmed by one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

I was skeptical as the initial track descended into staticky, sonic chaos. Good thing Jimi pulled it back from the brink. There are some true gems here. Little Wing, with one of the sultriest guitar solos ever made, just leaves me wanting more. The title track has big finale energy, great way to wrap up the album.

Quick album to listen to. Not a bad listen - Hendrix was def a pioneer and sounded great. Can only imagine getting stoned to this in the late 60s lol 7/10.

Cool, vibrant and summery

Top album, wel minder bekend als "Are you experienced" maar toch wel heel mooi

Сочно, мощно, от него взяли истоки многие группы

Hadn’t heard since a teenager. Drumming is incredible.

Pretty good album, great instrumentation. Songwriting is sort of so-so. The songs are fine, but they don't sound fully fleshed out. The album doesn't really have any breakout songs either.

Starts so goofily but really lifts off with "Spanish Castle Magic." There's a loose almost carefree feeling to the album. Sounds like they are having fun creating things in the studio.

Love this album, really chill cool vibe.

So I had to bootstrap this album together from different sources on youtube so the listening experience is way out of wack. Spanish Castle Magic finally gets the album started with some really modern sound guitar. Little Wing is a forceful beautiful song. Jimmy's guitar work is outrageous how relevant is still is.

Quisiera estar high on lsd, tirada en mi alfombra en los 80s escuchando esta joya en el reproductor de vinilos que acabo de comprar, brutal

A little rough around the edges

u 130. albuma, već su ispucani svi Jimi Hendrixovi albumi (ovo je zadnji ispucan), i bome su svi albumi čiste četvorke, neki možd malo jače. Volim njegov zvuk, sve u svemu, dosta dobar album - energičan, hedonistički nastrojen i topao album.

good jimi album, not as good as electric ladyland though

I was always under the impressions that people thought are you experienced was his best album and i think that is a bit shit, so this is a pleasant surprise.

Jimi's estate is too litigious. This is the first album I have not been able to listen to through YouTube Music. It's a shame because Jimi was such an influential musician and this is limiting the potential for more people to hear and experience his music.

Really good!! I think if I listen to it more I'll grow to love it!

Really enjoyed it. Cracking guitars and drums. The last track Bold as Love is brilliant

Really, really liked. 4.5.
