Reviews (page 3 of 8)
as much I wanted to hate on this I can't. Fred Durst is a dick , we all know that but the singles on this record are bangers.
Does this album belong on this list, not really, and it was later removed…. But I absolutely love this album because it’s just entertaining as hell. Also the Rollin’ (Urban Assault Vehicle)” version just might be one of the greatest remixes of all time due to the features of DMX, Method Man, and Redman.
Guilty Pleasures music. Mostly angry music circa 2000. Mix of Eminem, NIN, and Metallica. Fred Durst's vocals are iconic for this Era, but also surprisingly good musicianship with noticeable guitars, bass, and drums. My Generation My Way Rollin' Take a Look Around beautifully quotes the James Bond theme Hold On is a surprisingly sweet song with tender vocals including some vocal harmony.
9/10
HAHAHAHAHA he wnl das album het scho einiigi banger aber ich han nonie s album als ganzes glost ich lieb und hasse s intro hahahaha hot dog het schomal echt SCHRECKLICHI lyrics und nödmal so, dassmer chan drüber lache sondern eifach nur schlecht ABER musikalisch findis recht geiil, au sini schrei sind easy stabil? hetti nöd denkt my generation findi echt cool, d gitarre het en gwüsse groove woni rifach geil find (au wenn d scratch-bridge chli ass isch) WISO GFALLTSMER my way findi die typisch nu metal "verhängti"/psychedelisch(?) gitarre so geil allgemein chlii es chilligers lied tut gad guet E MILLION COPIES INNERHALB ERE WUCHE?????? Oh man this album is my childhood! It's probably my favorite limp bizkit album and probably thie best! I used to listen to this while doing my paper route haha, solid album!
3,5
Eh
Hot Take: This is one of the most interesting entries on this list precisely because Limp Bizkit is such a clownish, divisive band - but one with a giant impact and surprisingly hidden genius. Indeed, no one can dispute that Limp Bizkit was part of the musical inventory of the late 90's and early 2000s. They are one of the best examples of nu-metal, a divisive genre in its own right, and embodied a feeling of a special time full of change. The internet was just out there, not in its infant days but already a toddler with a knack for doing weird stuff. Nobody embodied that better than the band. But setting aside this cultural impact, is the music any good? Well. As someone who listened to this album up and down in my early days, I'm really surprised that it holds up pretty well as I rediscovered it now after only listening to some selected songs over the years. You can't deny the immense banger qualities of "Hot Dog", "My Generation", "My Way" or of course "Rollin" with its hook, riff and that mixing. Fred Durst is a vocalist with an interesting delivery and voice. Only problem is that his lyrics are just monothematically pissed-off mode stuff. Wes Borland is the secret talent as someone who produced great stuff in his own right. Look into how he plays the guitar, he carries those songs. The other songs - darker, quieter stuff like "Boiler" but also "Hold On" have their own qualities. Here you could see that Limp Bizkit could've also been a serious band if they'd wanted to. If I had to choose an album by the band, it would've been "Significant Other" which feels less predictable. I'd still like this one here even if it's only out there to make me chuckle and nod my head. This album deserves to be on the list and a good rating because it's THE example of nu-metal (whether you like that genre or not).
I liked it more than I thought I would
Far from my favourite Nu Metal band, but you can't deny the contribution they had to making metal appeal to the masses. And this album has a lot of the hits. The album cover is absolutely hideous though. One of the worst album covers.
And now you wanna hate me because hate is all the world has ever seen lately!! 🖕🏻
Take a Look Around, Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle), My Generation, Livin' It Up
Perhaps because everyone was saying I’d hate it, but really because it was fun to listen to I can easily forgive the length and round up.
Yeah, I'm limpin' with the Bizkit. A great refresher on my metal and what early-2000s alt was. Some songs are quite good and technically proficient, others, are meh. Overall quite enjoyable.
this album slaps i don't know what you guys are talking about
Some great dark tunes and plus the singles but some not so good tunes. Love the production and the guitar work from Wes
Limp Biscuit has a weird way of getting so much right. Lyrics are on point, music slaps....
I really don't think that this is an important album or it needs to be heard (don't think it should be part of this list which also goes for a lot more albums). But I like the music and simply find it very nice.
Awesome!
Didn't like having to relive when this was popular. It was definitely a sound that worked for a minute but that minute has left.
7/10. Good album and certain songs are keepers.
Did this guy pay to be on the list?
4/5
In reality it's a 3, but compared to some of the rubbish this usually generates me...
Gutes Album, hab ich früher viel gehört!
Most diabolical Album cover and name but I can’t deny this album FUCKS pretty hard.
Everyone loves to hate limp bizkit, but I grew up with this trash. These are gonna be nostalgia ratings. It hasn’t aged well, feels like Bush-era music, and I wouldn’t like it if I heard it fresh now. For nostalgia alone: 4*, otherwise a 1*. So edgy, he says fuck so much! Highlights: my way, rollin, my generation, take a look around
Not too bad
Limp Bizkit are an infectious spirit. Everything else is just salad dressing.
4.5
3.7 2x actually liked this more than i thought i would. Fred Durst is a chode but a lot of the songs are bumping
One of the great dumb albums
Hard to listen to at work, but feel very anti establishment now
Loved it at the time, played it toooo much
iconic
Whomst among us did not have a short-lived Limp Bizkit phase? I have a vivid memory of 10-year-old me borrowing this CD from a friend and jamming to it on my Walkman while we were travelling for a ski trip. Good times... My Way was and still is my favorite song in this album. Rollin' is a close 2nd. The next few songs kind of drag (even on the Xzibit feature!) until we get to Take A Look Around, which takes its riff from the Mission Impossible theme. Forgot how much I liked that song. This is definitely a tough one to score depending on how seriously you take Limp Bizkit, but I actually thought this holds up better than I thought. It has its high points and low points, but for the most part jams fucking hard. I'd probably score it at 3.5 stars and bump it to a low 4 for nostalgia.
Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water might be the most early-2000s album title ever, but man, Limp Bizkit delivered. Say what you want about Fred Durst and the band's image, but this album has bangers front to back. “Take a Look Around” is an all-timer — that Mission: Impossible riff hits hard every time. People love to clown on Limp Bizkit, but if you actually listen, there’s a lot to like here. It’s loud, it’s dumb, it’s catchy — and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. Favorite song: Take A Look Around Least Favorite Song: Hold On
Surprisingly delightful
Kinda cracked me up at some parts. Enjoyed way more than expected. Kinda captured my mood for the day, too.
You know, I kind of like it. It is just in-your-face angry punk until it surprises you with the quite lovely and melodic "The One."
For all the butt rock I listened to on Likewise/iTunes/Grooveshark, I never listened to much Limp Bizkit. Thought this was going to be some hyper butt because of the name, but I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Impressive blend of heavy metal, rap, and pop punk that paired nicely with a freezing run. They definitely got some big names to feature on this album. Good album, cringey name.
Some of these songs are so dumb lyrically, but god damn the instruments go so hard throughout this whole album. The Rollin' at the end with all of the guests at the end was a wild song. Limp Bizkit is a band I would never listen to at all on my own time. But I would absolutely love to see them live. Their shows must be so intense. This may be the hardest album to rate cause it is stupid but I was jamming the whole entire time. So F it, it gets a 4
Oh boy this is bringing me back. Has that classic early 2000's nu-metal sound. Hot Dog FUCKin rules I don't care what anyone says. A little long for my taste but I actually really enjoyed most of this. Got me super hype. I can see why people don't like it but it give me a certain aspect of nostalgia that you just don't see anymore. Might not be the highest of 4's but it's a 4 nonetheless.
I see a lot of people hating on this, which is fine, not everyone can limp with the bizkit
Remarkably I really enjoyed this. Again one of those US bands that passed me by but it’s a good consistent album. I was expecting to hate it but there’s a reason it sold so many copies.
Great album haha! Pure teenage rage lol. Great coming across it again as I haven't listened to Limp Bizkit in at least 10 years.
I’ve been unironically waiting for this to pop up for months. I wanted it so bad, because I just have so much to say in regard to what is really going on here. You’d be hard pressed to find a band which gets more heavily scrutinized than Limp Bizkit. There has been a general consensus since the 2000s ended, and people moved on from nu-metal, that Limp Bizkit sucked. People decided they always have been, and always will be a shitty band. It’s interesting how similar both this band and Red Hot Chili Peppers are in this regard. Because most of the hate stems from one person, and one person only. Mr. Fred Durst himself. I mean, people blame the guy and his bandmates as the sole reason why Woodstock '99 was a complete disaster. Which most people know by now to be almost entirely incorrect. I say almost because they definitely contributed a bit. The presence of Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, which is unfortunately a real album name that’s also accompanied by possibly the most grotesque cover ever conceived, genuinely offends some people. I’ve personally never found Fred Durst all that annoying. I can tolerate his voice and antics. And he’s honestly become much cooler in recent memory than he ever was back then. Once he ditched the tough guy act and embraced how goofy their music really is, he became much more tolerable. But much like Anthony Kiedis, this album is at its best when Fred shuts up. Wes Borland and John Otto are fucking animals, and pretty much every performance they give here is top notch. Every breakdown sounds absolutely massive and kicks total ass. I’m not afraid to admit how much I like that aspect of their music. It’s hard as fuck, no doubt in my mind. Fred’s lyricism is garbage. Obviously. My personal favorite is probably “If I say fuck two more times, that’s 46 fucks in this fucked up rhyme” on the first song. The Christina Aguilera and Ben Stiller name drops on Livin' It Up are also insane. Also, on the aforementioned Hot Dog, is the chorus not just completely ripped from Closer? I’ve always wondered if Trent Reznor actually signed off on that. Now, am I aware that me scoring this higher than a number of deeply loved and largely lauded albums is probably punishable by law? And that in comparison to other well known nu-metal groups, this album, and really band in general, is less impressive in almost every way? And that from an objective standpoint, this is a bad album? Absolutely. But I’m also aware of what I’m listening to, and it’s basically just a guilty pleasure at this point. There aren’t many records that capture everything wrong with the 2000s so perfectly. But if there was anyone to do it, it would be these guys. As Zakk Wylde put it, “Limp Bizkit sucks cock”. Rating: 7/10
Okay, so we're being intentionally disgusting. And I hate that I like it. Musically it's aggressive and abrasive in exactly the way to revert me an angry middle schooler. It's not good. But somehow it's also brilliant.
Is it stupid and in-your-face macho bullshit? Yes, but thats why its so much fun. I had a great time revisiting this album and I remembered why I loved it so much. So many hits, and so many f-bombs and similar sounding songs at points, but you can take me to the Matthews Bridge, great addition. 4.5 if I could.
Corniest lyrics ever written or said, the instrumentals are great but the fred durst shouldve been fired and sho
4-
Some great tunes!
Very nice
You know what, it was good. Fred Durst really beloved he was the voice of the generation recording this.
Nah, fuck all of you pretentious douchebags. Limp Bizkit fucking slaps, and no amount of fucking Captain Beefharts and Talking Timbuktús will deny it. I used to listen to this album on my way to work on the night shifts and I felt cool as fuck. Alongside Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park, Mezzanine by Massive Attack and Wither Blister Burn + Peel by Stabbing Westward.
This album was great outside of the context of Fred Durst's personality. Having been around during the rise and fall of Limp Bizkit, I feel strongly that their music would have had a much greater impact on the early aughts if Durst had not been such an insufferable douche canoe.
Surely, for the average music fan that is also knowledgeable, the very thought of Fred Durst breathing onto a microphone is your ear is a thought so odious it makes you want to vomit suddenly. Limp Bizkit was, and is to a somewhat lesser degree, a polarizing proposition. The most testicular fortitude addled rock group of their time, with a lack of regard for common decency towards all things man and woman kind. Nothin screams this out quite like the title of this album, which combines in-jokes involving a human body part and some other yet to be disclosed thing. A hour and fifteen minutes of impending debauchery itching to explode out of the speakers/headphones. And allow me to say that the majority of this album is brilliant. This is a band doubling down on the at times justified/at time unfair vilification lobbied on them in the wake of the Woodstock '99 fiasco and other trivial reasons pertaining to their existence. While not nü-metal personified, this is one of the defining albums of that genre. If only I have enough space in this review to say the word fuck. Favorites: Intro, Hot Dog, My Generation, Full Nelson, My Way, Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle), The One, Take a Look Around, It'll Be OK, Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle).
Nostalgic excellence
You know what? Fuck you. It's a great album.
Bonus star(fish) for nostalgia’s sake
Overall liked the sound. Kind of rap rock and would listen more but the lyrics are bad
I'm 80% sure I owned this CD. Am I embarrassed about it? Yes. Do I still know the lyrics? Yes. Did I have a good time revisiting this album. Also yes. I'm pretty sure everyone of a certain age had a Limp Bizkit phase.
Took me back to my youth. A pretty daft album but very enjoyable if you're in the right mood.
Stretching myself to a 4 here just because the global rating is too low. I enjoyed it.
Good album. But not ever song hit but most did.
Fun to listen to for nostalgia. The first half are bangers in terms of nu metal classics but it fizzles out in the second half. This CD was permanently in my stereo for about 8 months of my high school years.
Yes, it's a relic of the nu metal phenomenon of the late 90s to early 2000s, and yes, it is kind of dumb, but it's dumb in that "turn your brain off and just enjoy the music" sort of thought bubble. 4 (chocolate) stars flat.
Classic Bizkit
Alright partner.... No, this album didn't age well. But the memories of young me waddling to school blasting this album are golden. Aggressive, rude, tacky lyrics mixed with heavy riffs and DJ-record scratching, I love it. Highlight: My Way, Rollin', Take a Look Around Lowlight: Rollin 2
3.5 as someone who consistently makes fun of limp bizkit, i was annoyingly pleasantly surprised by this. i grooved to about six of the songs including two (rollin' and my generation) which i thought i found annoying but ended up being pretty fun in the context of the album. there were plenty that i didn't like and i'm obviously not a fan of how much they loved the word faggot in this era but what i liked i really quite enjoyed.
From the all 2000's hard rock bands I think Limp Bizkit is closest to my heart. I don't know why. They just have a lot of straight head bangers.
Added to my library!
Makes me feel like a skater kid in 05 playing video games in his friends basement.
Yet another ex-1001 album!™ http://1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie.wikidot.com/album-artists-a-z-ex Surprised that this album ever made it onto the list. Fred Durst comes off as a total knobhead, so why did I rock so hard to it?! Awww... it's complicated! 🤘
Ignore the hate, embrace the starfish
Nirvana goes ElektroBeastieBoys, fun
bring back old school white trash
A polarising album which is reason enough to be on the list. Also there's some absolute head-bangers on this stop worrying about the lyrics (if Hot Dog wasn't on it people would rate it higher)
Some good classics and bangers, overall it was okay not a huge fan of some of the slower songs and the outro was weird but the songs that stood out made up for it.
One of the first albums I ever bought. The nostalgia is strong and it still stands up to the test, providing you're in the mood for some angry, angsty music. The Rollin' remix and nine-minute outro are unnecessary, though.
I love this album. I remember whne this got released. I was stoked they were album to follow up Significant Other with this banger. Almost as good as it's predecessor.
I have always hated the intro. It actually pushed me away from the album as a college kid. Still I skipped and listened to the first song that I liked and then the singles. This album doesnt get enough credit (minus tje stupid intro) as ground breaking for the nu-metal genere and a whole generation. Its a really good aalbum and ai was surprised I can still love it as a grown as man. Its kind of a childish teen rant music but its still fun although rebellious at the same time.
I love this and I apologise for anyone else who will read it but it’s FUCKING GREAT Fred dunks on Trent in Hotdog baby This was one of the first albums I ever owned!!! Love LB fat Fred and fat wes
Listen, I'm unironically a Limp Bizkit fan but this isn't the album to include here. Durst is well into his Flanderization at this point. Three Dollar Bill should be here first because it is much better and second it was much more groundbreaking. Even Significant Other should be here instead. Who knows, maybe they are on the list. 3.57.
My expectations were pretty low for this album, but it's actually good? The rock parts go hard, and the rap parts really bring out those nu-metal vibes. Actually, the lyrics aren't even that crazy for the most part - they sometimes sound like they belong in a sad grunge song rather than a messed-up rap-rock song. Also, I thought the 80s New Wave-style guitars they have during the verse parts and in the slower songs were a nice touch.
This was surprisingly good! His voice is weird and there’s some strange lyrics but I like the instrumental parts
Such an important album for it's time
8/10 lots of bangers on here
I don't care what anyone says, Limp Bizkit is a ton of fun. Are they high art? Absolutely not, they're goofy as shit, and thats the main part of their appeal. If you dont understand that, you can kiss my Chicolate Starfish.
I expected this album to nothing but annoy me, but man, does it groove. Toward the end it did get increasingly annoying, but overall this was pretty good.
Love this album, not sure why it’s on this list
Enjoyed it way more than i thought - outro pushed it to a 4
better than expected
Man this album brings me back to my youth!
"Soggy biscuit (also known as ookie cookie, limp biscuit, wet biscuit, shoot the cookie, jizzcuit, or cum on a cookie) is a male group masturbation activity in which the participants stand around a biscuit (UK) or cookie (US) masturbating and ejaculating onto it; the last person to do so must eat the biscuit." Brought to you by Wikipedia!
In your face as expected with Limp Bizkit! Cool album that I did not hear before. Includes mega hit Rollin’. Xzibit is on a track which is cool! I like the mix of rock and rap. That was actually how I first heard about the band - the collab with Jay Z.
Have to be in the mood to listen to this but pretty hype listen overall.
Couldn't have come across a better Friday afternoon gym album. What an absolute gee up. I could do without the serious/heartfeltish tracks though thanks.
Fred Durst is a whiny bitch who can't write a decent lyric to save his life. That said, I was 23 when this came out and re-listening to it for the first time in 20 years, took me back to bouncing around my first flat after a night at the pub with the gang. So it's a 0/10 for 2024 me - but a solid 4/5 for 2001 me.
This is a fantastic example of numetal at the height of it's popularity.
With a name and album cover like that, what could one expect? It's juvenile testosterone - the album, and I like it.
Now that's my jam!
Nostalgia on this one for me. Pretty fun album though, although listening to it again it’s like they took some popular songs and used them in their own ways.
Erster kleiner Tiefpunkt: „My Way“ (Lied 5). So ein Gejaule. Aber dann Rollin, sau geil. Danach auch solide. Lied 8 („The One“) dann wieder ein Downer. „Take A Look Around“ (Lied10) wieder super, danach wieder ein belangloses Lied. Ich fürchte, dass sich das Album auf gute 45 Minuten kürzen lässt!
I loved it lol I’ve been missing out!!!
I can’t give this a 5. It’s a nostalgic album and surprisingly has some replay value, even 23 years later, but it’s so goddamn dumb. Fred is so corny, the music is so corny, but at the time, THAT SHIT SLAPPED. I can’t say I remember this album being as long as it is and some of the songs being as long as they are, but ok. Matt will give this a 5/5 rating FOR SURE
Well, not glad to say that this is my first Limp Bizdick project, and it’s absolutely horrible. Chocolate Starfish manages to have nearly nothing about it that redeems itself. That being said, theres some pretty damn decent riffs and grooves on this record, and it deserves less hate in my opinion. Fred Durst’s vocals are like horrific tragedies that you can’t bring yourself to look away from. The whole vibe of the album reminds me of a very specific time in my life, and I can’t ignore that about it. Thoughts: what the fuck Favorite songs: Take a Look Around, Rollin’, Hold On
By the time this record came out, I had move on from Limp Bizkit. The rawness of that first record wasn't there during the second for me. By this third record I thought the band wasn't going to be a thing anymore. But I was wrong. Despite the fact they make fun of my favorite band in the opening track, and despite the song Rollin', one of the dumbest lyric lines ever, this record slaps. And it's thanks to Wes. He made this record what it is. The guitars on this are fantastic. And Boiler may actually be the best Limp Bizkit song. Fred Durst couldn't ruin how good this record sounds. It's just too good. I will say in closing however that there is 16 minutes of literal wasted time at the end of this record. There is nothing of value after Hold On ends. Ben Stiller is funny but come on... Ugh. Losing a star just for that alone.
Really enjoyed this one. It's just a shame it's a tad too long.
Kind of shocked how well this album holds up. Could do without the skit at the end but the music itself ripped, wall to wall bangers from a band that I shouldn't like, but somehow I do.
Nice
It was annoyingly catchy.
As the outro mentioned, they’re the band that can pull off rock, pop, thrash, and rap. Again another album with lots of flavor and character.
Guilty pleasure... be Better if I was 19 years old I suppose...
Surprisingly fun and interesting
Fascinating. Thought I was gonna hate it!
Nice. Not as good as a live performance, but it's still good.
Makes me want to break stuff
Rap metal. A ratos me ha recordado a RATM. Venga, un 4.
Some bangers on that album.
4.0
Has it aged well? I honestly don't know. Some songs are still bangers, some are cringe. Riffs and John Otto's drumming is superb. Fred Durst is an acquired taste. Must admit I liked this album more than I thought I would. Really well produced, good fun if you don't take it too seriously
Innovative, rap metal pop all in one
I don't Care if the lyrics are cringe,The riffs are too good are some of the songs have too strong choruses to not call this album great,Fred durst is such a good frontman and brings such an annoyingly likeable energy. It’s too long though and can be admittedly very annoying.my way and rollin are amazing.why is DMX here,Not complaining
Ah, good old Limp Bizkit. My memories of the emergence of nu-metal in the early 2000s as a late-teen/twenty-something, was that it was the domain of a particular social subset, not quite goth and not quite emo. Whilst I did not subscribe to either, I was quite partial to 'My Way' and 'Rollin''. This was my first time listening to this album in full, and beyond the juvenility inherent (not just the album title), there are some pretty catchy tunes on here, perfect for a good bit of headbanging. I'm sure a lot of purists will hate on Fred Durst and crew, but I would listen unapologetically again.
3.5
Past the ridiculousness of Fred Durst's persona and word choices are some fairly catchy songs. I admit this album has a special place in my heart, as I remember the excitement when in 7th(?) grade my friend introduced me to this. It was something I would not have been able to access due to my parents relatively strict policies about what I watched and listened to. Many of these songs still hold that power for me, the feeling of magic of hearing something I had never heard before, something off limits - perhaps strongest with "My Way" and "Take a Look Around." The album is way too long and that final 10 minute track with Ben Stiller is garbage, but I did appreciate listening to the album again.
Mega new metal 1994
Amazing production, crisp, clear, layered perfectly. I love the dynamic changes when the beat goes from hip hop to rap rock, the guitar elevate the energy perfectly. Some legendary features included as well. Lacking the melody and songwriting diversity of Linkin Park, but a solid entry from this genre.
Refreshingly heavy yet melodic album
Load.
OK, I'm only about halfway through, and two things immediately come to mind. First, I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying this, I've never listened to these guys at all, really, other than random hearing of their bigger hits. That said, I like industrial (Ministry, KMFDM, Front 242) and I like rap (Beastie Boys, Digable Planets, Tribe) and I'm not scared of noise (Swans) and so this is kind of great. Second, I am blown away -- amazed -- to hear there is a "clean" version of this album. What the hell?!? I am just going to have to check that out, as the level of profanity in this record is off the chart. The album runs a bit long and some of the tail end of it is rather meh, but overall still surprised and impressed that I enjoyed it as much as I did.
It's a very melodic rap record, which leads me to wonder if it's actually a rap record... Still really good.
Conflicted on this one. The album/music itself is a master class in pumped, angry, air boxing motivational music. The production is good, when Fred tries to sing it work, when he spits anger, it's a little whiny, but it works. In addition to the problem of Fred Durst, the place where this title comes from it not just juvenile, but they still think its edgy and cool. Blink-182 gets away with the same thing (Take Off Your Pants) but are making fun of themselves with it. Entirely different dynamic. Fred doesn't earn his self-pity anger on this album, but the energy and music work if you're just singing it by yourself. Entirely engaging.
I like this band to a certain degree. Yes, they had a big influence on the genre for a solid 1-2 years? But next to every great song is a clunker. But this one is probably my favourite album all together of them. Take A Look Around, Boiler, My Way, Rollin', Livin' It Up are classic though 7,5 out of 10
My God, Limp Bizkit. This takes me back to middle school. I can remember being a rebellious youth, and thinking the song Hot Dog was great because Fred Durst says the word "fuck" 48 times in the song's 3:30 runtime. This rap rock/Nu Metal movement that occurred in the late 90's - early 00's was crazy. You can see a bunch of these bands if you watch reruns of Woodstock '99. Fred Durst was actually blamed for instigating a riot during that festival by singing their song "Break Stuff" to an audience of pissed off young people. I can distinctly remember listening to Limp Bizkit's previous album, Significant Other more than this one, however, this album had its share of hits: Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle), My Way, My Generation, and Take a Look Around to name a few. Fred Durst's lyrics are corny as hell, but the energy conveyed through his angry lyrics and heavy instrumentation made for one hell of a "pump up" album. This is another one of those albums that is deep rooted in nostalgia for me, so it is hard for me to give an objective opinion on this record. I always felt that liking Limp Bizkit was a guilty pleasure. I get that they are cheesy, and dated, but I still can't deny that the music got my head bobbing a few times. I listened to the record twice today to try and separate nostalgia from fact, but couldn't do it. If nothing else, thanks for the trip down memory lane. Will probably listen again. Favourite songs: Take a Look Around, Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle), My Generation, My Way, Full Nelson, Get Your Groove On (Dirt Road Mix), Rollin' (Urban Assult Vehicle), Hot Dog Least favourite songs: The One, Hold On, Outro (I don't need to listen to a looped track of someone laughing for 4 minutes) 4/5
4.2 whats with all the hate, its such a solid and pretty accessible nu metal album. faves: hot dog, rollin, livin it up
It's been 23 years? Wow. Still love this album! Brings back a lot of memories. Standouts: ------------------- My Way, Rollin', Take a Look Around, Boiler, Intro/Hot Dog, My Generation Others: ---------------------- Full Nelson, Livin' It Up, The One, Getcha Groove On, I'll Be OK Rating: 4.5
Enjoyed this one but only because I am more open to limp biskit after Woodstock 99.... Interesting that I didn't feel anxiety on this one like on Hole.
I genuinely think the guitar riffs are amazing, but what doesn't make the whole album amazing is the lyrics and vocals. Some songs aren't too bad with the lyrics (the second half), though. The album cover, name, and intro are definitely interesting. They clearly aren't afraid of being strange or different, in a good way. Fave track(s): The One, Take A Look Around, It'll Be OK
Need more healthy angst white male music
Nice und fun. Limp Bizkit halt
I actually kinda like this? what the hell? it’s definitely not my genre, but once you get past the obnoxious metal tropes, it’s a surprisingly enjoyable and creative album I’ll still always prefer bands like Rage Against the Machine or Mr Bungle over this stuff, but honestly, this album ain’t bad at all 7/10
Boss album
Fun album. But you got to be in the mood for the abrasive lyrics. Appears to be an album for those who think others reject them.
Listened Before? Y Ohhhh boy! This one is a surprising selection for this list! I absolutely love this record, and the band too. They're heavy, dirty, aggressive, and unapologetic. The perfect 2000 album. Just before 9/11, when everything was excess and aggression. So much cussing, and so many heavy riffs. One of my favorites, although I bet the ratings are very low overall. We'll see! Added to Library? Y (was already there) Songs added to playlist: My Generation, Full Nelson
Rating: 8/10 Best songs: Hot dog, My generation, Rollin, Take a look around
What a blast from the past. I knew more than I thought I would. And was transported back to my youth. Pleasantly surprised.
It's weird to see how hatred has become nostalgia over the years. What we used to despise 20 years ago is being listened now with a mix of remembrance and a feeling of 'ok, it wasn't that bad'. This record, coming from the spectacular success of 'Significant Other' and their infamous appearance at Woodstock, takes you back at a point in time, the turning of the century, when so much things were going on and these songs happened to be part of their soundtrack. So, after all these years, hats off to Fred Durst and co
I've always had a soft spot for Limp Bizkit. In the 90s, my older brother sent me on a mall mission to find their debut album. Every CD store employee looked at me like I was speaking gibberish (I guess I kind of was...limp biscuit, three dollar bill???). A year or two later when they were massively famous, I thought Fred Durst was the coolest dude ever. I even wanted to buy the same red Yankees cap he always wore. It's fortunate I never did...I was a 14 year old, white, middle class girl from southern Ontario and I'm pretty sure I would have looked ridiculous. But damn it, in my heart of hearts, I really thought I was a badass. I never, ever listen to Limp Bizkit anymore but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this trip down memory lane.
This album brought back more memories than I thought could be hiding in back of my jnco jeans. I was surprised how much I still enjoyed it, and I also remember Limp Bizkit seeming so angry to me, and they really do not come across that way to me as a 38 year old.
I'm sure it's a lot of rose-tinted glasses, but I really enjoyed listening to this album again. It ended up taking me down a rabbit hole of old nu-metal for a couple hours. I can't make a case for Fred Durst being a virtuoso or anything, but Limp Bizkit is definitely a guilty pleasure.
Completely nostalgic review from me. I thought these guys were the coolest. I was 16 when this came out and listened to it for hours. It hasn't aged super well, but still gets the blood moving.
Kind of my péché minion. But I spent a lot of time listening to that album and limp bizkit overall ! I really like the rap and metal mix, it's both angry and efficient. I have to admit that the mix is not always perfect but overall I really enjoy this album ! 4.25/5
Rock album that really rocked me!! Crazy energy and I loved it. Would gladly listen to again... Some hip-hop musicalities also really caught my attention!! Really nice 4/5
Klasik.
Actually not bad. Very much of its time, but it's easy to see why they were so popular; Fred Durst's cartoony, juvenile persona matched with punchy, compressed guitars and flawless production.
Rap metal. A ratos me ha recordado a RATM. Venga, un 4.
Recognized a couple tracks here. Having a hard time rating this… I'm no prude but the overuse of profanity cheapens the lyrics, and I’m to the point in life where if I hear someone swearing nonstop I think they are too stupid to find any better words for what they’re trying to say. I enjoyed the heavy music much more than Durst’s whiny singing, but it sorta worked (or it’s my memory showing a bias). Overall I think I gotta go 3/5
Weird shit
Skate punk, thrash metal, hip-hop with lots of adolescent rage. A lesser Rage Against the Machine, and I say that as one who is less than enthused by RATM.
I surprisingly found this quite entertaining
Couple of good songs to sift through in here

16vyear old me lived this and 41 year old me loves this. Don't get me wrong, its not good by most metrics, but it encompasses 2000s Nu Metal perfectly.
What a 2000s throwback! I wouldn't call this album one of the greatest or one of the most creative, but it definitely was influential and one of the faces of the pop-metal era.
Finding "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water" on a list of 1001 albums to hear before you die is certainly a surprise for the day. I'm not going to tell you that it is an essential record, because it's not and the main reason is too much filler. The album runs at least 30 minutes too long - but it is good fun - when the mood strikes - which I confess isn't too often (I own the album!). The production holds up well. The band are tight and in particular the rhythm section provides a rock-solid foundation throughout. The star of the show is guitarist Wes Borland, who has a very distinctive style. In contrast, Fred Durst’s vocals can occasionally sound akin to a whiny teenager and can easily get on your nerves. Stylistically, the album relies heavily on the Limp Bizkit template: - A quiet opening, often accompanied by catchy keyboard motifs or samples. - A shift into rap-style vocals. - A heavy drop, accompanied by crushing, down-tuned guitars and an explosive chorus. This is best demonstrated on the the standout track, 'Take A Look Around' - a genuinely superb song. It follows the standard Limp Bizkit template perfectly, but the clever integration of the 'Mission: Impossible' theme motif makes it highly effective. Oddly enough, the weakest song on the album, 'Getcha Groove On', is the one track that completely abandons this formula. This album represents three stars of genuine fun. It simply suffers from bloat; it would be a much tighter, stronger experience if it were trimmed down to 10 tracks and a 45-minute runtime. 1 "Intro" (2/5) 2 "Hot Dog" (3/5) 3 "My Generation" (3/5) 4 "Full Nelson" (3/5) 5 "My Way" (4/5) 6 "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" (4/5) 7 "Livin' It Up" (3/5) 8 "The One" (3/5) 9 "Getcha Groove On" (featuring Xzibit) (2/5) 10 "Take a Look Around" (5/5) 11 "It'll Be OK" (3/5) 12 "Boiler" (3/5) 13 "Hold On" (featuring Scott Weiland) (3/5) 14 "Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle)" (featuring DMX, Method Man & Redman) (3/5) 15 "Outro" (1/5) Total - 45 Average - 3 329/1001 179/329 albums reviewed were new to me.
Didnt fully hate it
The heavy Wes Borland songs are absolutely fantastic and are part of the reason that Limp Bizkit are now a Download headlining band. That guy is a genius. I like it when John Otto takes it to the Matthews Bridge. But my god the other songs are really bad. Just chop out 30 minutes of the problematic and difficult-to-listen to stuff and you have a very good album.
Este álbum salió en mí cumpleaños número 6. I'm definitely limping with the Bizkit.
Limp bizkit get a hard time these days but at the time they tapped into the tone of the era. Honestly, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Yeah okay. The lyrics are childish but the music really varied
Very much of its time. I don't really care for it now, but back when it came out I had this shit blasting on the discman.
It’s just one of those days
I thought this was supposed to be bad. Why are there some actual bangers on here?
Fun and very goofy. The outro was unnerving, very 90s.
Yes, awesome, this hit in a way the Beastie Boys have not. Good songs, great momentum.
i often think about how my life would have turned out if only we could fly limp bizkit style
Some great songs, brings me back to the hockey dressing room in when I was 11. Some filler too... so I'll say 3.
This is more of a cultural artifact than an artistic statement. These guys are wringing everything out of this lemon right at the peak commercial success of nu metal. How else can we make money off pre 911 of rebellion against nothing? Wes Borland is a highlight with his eerie guitar playing.
Some of their hits really do hit, like My Way and Rollin, but then the others are just meh. I'll hand it to them for innovating hard rock/metal for incorporating rap and hip-hop elements, but I don't think I'd come back to this album.
Good
On y est, l’an 2000. And The Hot Dog Flavored Water. "My Generation", "Rollin’", "My Way"...
Can't believe I'm saying this, but... I enjoyed this album? I was (and mostly still am) convinced that I dislike Limp Bizkit. The whole schtick and appearance that they go for is a huge negative for me. Durst is the true personification of a douchebag. Even so, I thought this was a solid listen. Most of its appeal came from the music. I'd heard that Wes Borland was a good guitarist, but he worked some magic here. I mean, he had to in order to create songs as good as these came out in the collaboration. It rocked, even with the vocals being what they were. Of course, the biggest issue with this album is Durst. No matter how hard he tries to come off, he still sounds whiny. He's like the yappy little dog that lives next door and never shuts up. And, as much as you may like dogs, you can't help but want to punt him off the nearest bridge. Another issue is how long it is. Why did they need 75 minutes for an album named after a butt hole? Somehow, even with all the reasons I should not like this, I have to admit that I kinda did. If you tune out the lyrical content, these could be some really good nu metal songs. As they are, they're still not half bad. Overall: 3/5
Sigue rodando rodando rodando rodando
Full disclosure, I was a Limp Bizkid so I am 100% biased. However, I didn't like this album at the time (too commercial, they sold out etc.) in hindsight I was wrong and it's actually good, just not as good as Significant Other.
I grudgingly admit i found my head bobbing along with the thrash metal rap on several occasions. However when I really pay attention the lyrics are ridiculous and much of the album sounds like some teenagers just got ahold of some musical instruments and are playing them as loud and as angry as possible. Not one for the ages, but a decent peek into the time capsule of that era.
There's still some enjoyment to be had no matter how poorly this aged
This album gives me this image: It's 2002 and I am in middle school, I listen to this album. I got pumped up, my dad enters my room and tell me to do my homework... I say 'shut the fuck up'.. I got my ass whooped by him Fav songs - My Generation, Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle), Livin' It Up 3/5
110. gross
What type of lunatic chooses Chocolate Starfish & the Hot Dog Flavored Water for a list of albums to listen to before you die?Especially when Significant Other exists. Take A Look Around is the theme song to one of those Mission Impossible movies. Do you think Fred Durst actually understands Fight Club since he's seen 28 times? Scott Weiland on Hold On! What is the point of sampling Life in the Fast Lane, when you can barely hear it. Almost like an afterthought. The album ends with Ben Stiller laughing for 3 minutes. You want the worst! You got the worst! The one! The only! limpbizkit I Try not to take a band too seriously when they are named after a frat boy game about jizzing on biscuit & eating it. I have seen them live with Papa Roach & Eminem. They put on a helluva show in their heyday. Are they stupid? Yes. Who cares!? Are those weird naked malnourished Fred Durst baby clones floating in Hot Dog water while showing us their chocolate starfish? Now we know why no one likes Fred Durst.
Þetta er glatað, en fyndið.
It's fine. The best song is Rollin' because other better artists take over for a while
favorite song: getcha groove on vibe: mad rating: 70/100
No one wants to admit this is actually fun and good, so here I am.
Guilty pleasure. It’s fun, dumb and energetic. RIP Sam Rivers Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst are falsely accused of being the main reason everything went nuts at the Woodstock festival. Look at the 2021 documentary Woodstock ‘99: Peace, Love, and Rage which gives a more nuanced view of the situation compared to the Netflix doc “Trainwreck” which almost solely accuses Fred Durst and the band.
Hi, I’m *name redacted* and I reluctantly fuck with the Biskit. This was a fun, stupid ride through that odd weird millenial moment of the rap/rock/funk hybrid, of which I guess Limp Bizkit was the most successful. These guys are painfully dorky - the lyrics are so try-hard it’s embarrassing - but the record did induce some head-banging and kitchen dancing at points, and it kept my attention for the full 65 minutes. Points for keeping their friend’s incredulous roast of their name, music and image in the last track. The howling laughter, my friend, is all of us.
Stupid, infantile, and way too long, but a lot of fun. 3.5
Who doesn't love a 10 minute long outro track, more than 3 minutes of which is just some douche laughing at his own jokes. This was definitely too long, but I don't really mind Limp Bizkit in general.
Its ok
Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
You know, I went in with an open mind and didn’t hate it nearly as much as expected. It was actually a great album to listen to while working out. That’s actually the only scenario in which I’d personally listen to this.
I despise everything about their aesthetic. I'd be embarrassed to be caught listening to this. The lyrics objectively suck ass. Outside of the admittedly good riffs, it's all so over the top trash that it's impossible to take seriously; so much so, that it weirdly loops back to being kind of fun. I don't know, I think I kind of limp with the bizkit actually 😭 Standouts: My Way • Rollin (Air Raid Vehicle) • Getcha Groove On - Dirt Road Remix • Take A Look Around • Boiler • Rollin (Urban Assault Vehicle)
had beter verwacht 2.5
Ya know, I really didn’t hate this as much as I thought I would. I can understand the hate for Fred Durst, but the band had some killer ideas and riffs happening throughout this album.
Would be a fun album but there is much bloat everywhere. Would be a 4 for me if the album was cut to half its length
It MAY have been revolutionary at the time and the and the sound DOES bang but it’s the same idea just repeated 10 times.
Similar at times to System Of A Down but musically quite a bit more interesting. Favourite tracks were probably My Way and The One. 3
I rolled my eyes when I saw this album appear as the album of the day. My gf loves this album - we own it in vinyl. I'm not the fan of it she is. This album was a product of its time. It is a necessary component of any historical discussions about the social zeitgeist of the early 2000's, and maybe, for that reason, it deserves to be on this list, but I also think it was rightly removed from later editions of the book. It's not a great album, but I don't think it deserves all the 1-star hate, either. It's silly fun, I'll give it that. It's obnoxious, and loud, and oversized. It has a terrible title.
A couple of these songs hold up ok, but most of it is REALLY dated (mostly by Fred's baby vocal delivery) My Way Rollin' Take A Look Around ^^ All pass the sniff test to me, mostly because the guitars are so sludgey and cool. Mostly a pass but it was an interesting listen
Too violent for me
fun but not very listenable unless im in a weird mood
Actually didn't hate it. Although, the number of times Fred Durst says "Fuck" in this album would be a great tie break question at Think Tank. I'd guess at least 200+
Way more hits than expected. Strong motherfuckin' start and then they calm down a bit. Very enjoyable, even better while doing something active!
Captured a moment in time. Some bangers. Some shit.
I mean... it has Rollin' and that song is forever a banger. I'll give it a 3, cannot deny the talents of Wes Borland.
Fun songs, the Mission Impossible theme was always a cool song I thought, this was a good time in music when NuMetal was starting out.
Love this band. Their vibe and sound are so singular- sure it’s not anything high-brow, but it just makes you wanna crank the volume. Songs like “Rollin’,” “Take a Look Around,” and “My Way” are in total bangers of meathead attitude and 2000s nu metal nonsense. The problem here is its length. There’s a solid stretch of weaker tracks in the middle and the DMX and Xzibit remixes were very unnecessary. Despite the amazing work by the musicians and my overall loving the project, it gets a 3
Surprisingly had to much fun listening to it while working my corporate job
Better than Coldplay
Better than expected honestly
first song is bad i don’t like it. after that it kind of feels like if hazbin hotel was a band why are you saying fuck so much 😭 hate his voice as well track 8 is alright actually i don’t mind it too much! i think it gets a lot better after track 8, i might listen again knowing that it gets better later on because each time a new song came on i was waiting to see how shit it was
Album with Rollin in it. Has bangers but FAILSS in the second half.
the good songs just about make up for the tripe
Long live Limp Bizkit - shall they concern parents evermore.
I feel dirty after listening to this. Aspects of this album though hit a soft spot for me from my nu-metal tastes of the late 90s to early 00s while in my 20s. I dig Wes Boreland's style, the production of Terry Date, that nu-metal groove. I dig the guest vocalists who REALLY carried the tracks they were on. And there are some tracks that definitely deserved to hit the airwaves of rock radio of the time. But man... the whiney ass Fred Durst vocal style and gudawful lyrics just grind at my senses anymore. On top of that, much of the album sounds like rehashing of previous material just to capitalize on their successes. Almost a "let's make a track that sounds kinda like this one." Basically non existent growth in their sound. And those fucking vocals... ugh. Yet, I found myself enjoying it more than I think I should.
Incredibly apt album name which maybe earned it an extra star on its own
I still like the sound, the mix, the voice, incl. the rap. But yeah, the lyrics suck.
Not as bad as I remember. Crazy it made this list though.
Although this is actually awful in many ways, it's also quite a mixed bag of styles and sounds. I feel that if half an hour was removed this could easily be a four, but in its actual form, it's a slightly bloated three.
It's not some kind of a masterpiece, but it's definitely a fun album.
Surprisingly fun.
Liked it!
Huh. I didn't mind this and liked a fair bit too.
A very solid album, but the tone drags it down completely. I don't care about some random person mocking the band that they put in their own album.
I got a Sonic Youth album yesterday, and sorry hipsters, I prefer this. It's not exactly groundbreaking stuff, but it's fun and it's okay to have some fun every so often. Probably don't need the endless Ben Stiller outro, though.
3 - corny but a fun listen
It's definitely junk food music...but I love junk food. I would've preferred Significant Other on this list (it's their best album), but this has hits. Also Fred Durst is a more complex character than people gave him credit for, which is mostly his own fault for why people view him that way, but I digress.
At the time this was a change of pace for Limp Bizkit with a more laid back approach and lengthier workouts. I thought of this as their Nine Inch Nails phase. There are some catchy tunes, but in fairness, this has not aged that well. Most of the songs are too long and could have used some editing. Also, the album title is still stupid.
An okay album, I Iiked Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) the most.
A couple of bangers raised to 3 stars. But if there’s going to be a nu metal album it should be White Pony by Deftones.
Meh. 3 star
Fred Durst: visionary, poet, my generation's Bob Dylan.
Sounds good; trash words
The album matched the style I expected from Limp Bizkit. Recognized The Way and see they somewhat made reference to the album name throughout. Was also surprised to hear their NIN Closer reference in the opening track and Mission Impossible Theme in Take A Look Around. The laughing in the Outro was pretty obnoxious. Overall an interesting enough listen.
Rage Against The Machine if they were angry at their parents for confiscating their Xbox, not capitalism
Nice
Such a guilty pleasure. Haven’t listened to this album in years!
Came at this from a very low opinion, and my late 30s opinion was right , vocally and lyrically past prejudices were difficult to get over. However, some excellent tunes and the odd song that was very good. Like a lot of albums on this list I won't be listening to it again. But the process has given me some excellent albums that I never would of bothered with, so we ll keep motoring on
It was surprisingly listenable. Wes has some very good riffs. It's Fred Durst's voice that puts me off.
Rollin alone calls for a score above 2. Not much higher though.
I rarely listen to this full through, but the basically NIN cover opener is INSANE. The hits hit harder than most nu metal and at this point I really just love Durst’s goffiness. But god damn theres like 6 songs too many
This album would be much worse if Fred Durst did not becoming capital I Interesting in the past few years.
This is an interesting ride. This is my youth, definitely not the best Limp Bizkit album in my opinion but still has some pretty good songs on it. The soundscapes are really cool on some tracks and then other songs are just cringe. But that is LB in a nutshell. Is there talent there, undoubtedly. Is some of it bad. Yes. Is some of it so bad it's good. Also yes.
Against all odds, not against it in the end. Would probably give it another listen if time allowed.
Surprised me! Better than expected and kinda good. Not likely to be a long term fan but I get the appeal
Bändi on tuttu lähinnä radiosta.
Actually better than I was expecting. Foolish amount of swearing but that just amuses me.
Start of their down fall. First albums are amazing. This one has some bangers but it is when they became way to unserious
A little repetitive but this album makes me wanna commit felonies!
yeah it was ok
This is definitely a product of it's time. The style, cameos, lyrics, and popularity. This could not have existed during any other time than the early 00s.
Sometimes you just need to crank some nu metal and wreck shit.
Did not hate it. I think I get limp bizkit
OK; so lyrics mostly suck, but the album gets too much hate for what it is. It has a couple of good songs. 5/10
more nuanced than I expected. 2.5
3.3/i can't hate it but overall it's a little annoying nowadays
I remember but not my thing
Not too badly executed but feels derivative 3.2
3 stars strictly for nostalgia purposes. Otherwise limp bizkit is hot garbage and Fred durst can fuck off
Quite rocky. My way pretty good
Rather vulgar.
I laughed out loud when this one popped up. The idea of this over-the-top, cringe-worthy album being on any essentials list of albums seems ridiculous. But as I listened to it (hit with a heavy dose of nostalgia from listening to this as a teen) it occurred to me that if you wanted to pick an album to best reflect what pop music culture was (the good, the bad, and especially the ugly) circa 2000, this might just be the one. Much as I detest Fred Durst's lyrics and vocals, I have to admit there's some catchy riffs on here thanks to Wes Borland's talent. I'll let nostalgia carry the day and award it 3 stars.
Interesting, and that’s all I’ll say
Is it bad that I didn't totally hate this? I struggled through the last 20 minutes but the first 40 were ok.
KEEP ROLLIN ROLLIN
Wild how ubiquitous these guys were for like 2 summers and then totally disappeared.
Started off strong and had some hits but really drug on and was hard to finish
I don't know, maybe it's just nostalgia, or maybe it is decent. Going to give this one 4 stars. Ok after listening to the second half of the album I think I'm going to drop it down to 3 stars. Not good.
They’re like the Beastie Boys meets Lincoln Park. In a good way.
I’m honestly surprised how much I liked this album. I know it’s a massive meme on this website, and for good reason, but it’s not nearly as bad as the ratings would imply. First of all, it’s just one giant shitpost. When treated as such, it becomes substantially more enjoyable. Literally a few friends just having a good time. The way they blend multiple different genres together like EDM, Rock and Rap is actually quite creative and catchy. Yes, Fred Durst is an obnoxious douche canoe who can’t sing, but it doesn’t really detract from the album enough for it to become unenjoyable. The songs “My Way” and “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” are my favorite songs on the album. The constant pop culture references are also pretty funny honestly, with direct riffs and references to things like Nine Inch Nails and the Mission Impossible Theme. But man, that album art is truly one for the ages. One of the album arts of all time in fact.
3.5/5
Enjoyed this album more than I expected to, though, by the time i got to the last few tracks I was ready for it to end and I didn't feel the need to dip back in for a 2nd listen. I liked the guitar tones , really heavy and crunching for the heavier chorus parts then sometimes a reverby, shimmering sort of elastic lead part for the verses or interludes (Livin It Up). Myriad of guitar sounds definitely my album highlight. Not a huge fan of the vocals although they do work well with the music. Lyrics are pretty much nonsense as well but again they do work so I wont judge too harshly. I actually preferred when they really lean into the nonsense and things were comically ludicrous i.e Hot Dog. Full Nelson was pretty sick, again especially the guitar sounds. My Generation, My Way and Rollin are all decent tunes. Gnarly screaming on Boiler which was a definite highlight on the back end of the album. Favourite tracks - Hot Dog, Full Nelson. 7/10
Some catchy tunes, and raw lyrics (if slightly cheesy). A fun listen.
This is a tough one. The whole thing is objectively bad. But I loved these guys back in the day when my musical tastes were... Less mature. Nostalgia is strong with this one.
haven't heard this in full yet. Limp Bizkit is kinda hit or miss for me so we'll see how this holds up Intro - no rating Hot Dog - 2/5 My Generation - 2/5 Full Nelson - 2/5 My Way - 5/5 Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) - 5/5 Livin' It Up - 3/5 The One - 3/5 Getcha Groove On - 2/5 Take a Look Around - 3/5 It'll Be OK - 2/5 Boiler - 2/5 Hold On - 2/5 Rollin' (Urban Assault Vehicle) - 3/5 Outro - no rating Average score: 2.8/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ i'm convinced that once you've heard one Limp Bizkit album, you've heard them all My Way and Rollin' were about the only songs that i feel remained solid tracks over the years. stupid teenage me might've found this album entertaining i guess? as an adult, this was underwhelming at best
