Deja Vu
Crosby, Stills, Nash & YoungI knew these songs individually but I'd never listened to the whole album before. What a treat!

I didn't give this a listen first time around because I was so tired of the overplay of Bitter Sweet Symphony, and the last thing I wanted was more Verve. I really enjoyed the rest of the album, and to be fair, even coming back to the big hit was fun. "The Drugs Don't Work" was a particular standout and I look forward to listening to this again. The "Deluxe" edition was disappointing. Give me a live version, or remixed singles, but leave the tracks as they were.
I was never a fan, but I really tried to get into it this time. No joy. I don't feel any emotion from the music. I like the genre, and there's nothing technically wrong with it, but somehow I don't connect with it. I kept having to resist giving up and listening to something else.
I really enjoyed it. I loved the "Five to One" samples from the Doors in Takeover. What a great era for Hip-Hop!
What a classic!
I listened to this three times, trying to get a feel for what people like about it, but I just don't find it stirs a lot of emotion in me. I don't dislike R&B or Soul but they're not my favorite genres either.
Loved it. I knew the hits from back in the day, but it was great to give the whole album a listen.
I've never heard of it before, but I really enjoyed it. I'm giving it a third listen now and trying to decide if I add it to my library. I feel like it could really grow on me with time.
"Deluxe Edition" - makes me want to cry. I like Depeche Mode, but I've never really *loved* their stuff. I was enjoying listening to the album instead of just the hits. But then I hit the "Deluxe Edition" junk. When exactly? I don't know. I'm just listening to a good album, and the next thing I know I'm listening to not a good album. Way to kill a good vibe.
Very nice returning to this. I used to be a big fan of their early stuff, but I drifted away after Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic.
I think I'm doing this wrong. It used to be I'd hear a song I liked on the Radio, enough that I'd buy the LP/CD. Then, since I'd spent my very limited money on it, I'd listen to it repeatedly. The repetition made the songs familiar, and I grew to love the whole album. Now, with streaming, we can listen to anything anytime, feeling no need to get more value out of individual purchases. I might have loved every song on Parklife if I'd paid for the CD and listened to it on repeat for ages. But I listened to it twice, and it had some good tracks, and it was ok, but it didn't really grab me. Some albums still grab me right away, but that's rare, and that's what I'm looking at to get a 3 or a 4 unless it's something I already know well. Not fair, but what are ya gonna do?
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did!
I liked it, and I especially liked the banjo parts, but it didn't really move me.
I know many of these songs well, but never knew where they were from. Great pick!
I enjoyed hearing the original of the Blink-182 remake for Another Girl, Another Planet!
Kate Bush can do no wrong
One of my all time faves!
Wow, I don't remember this music from 1993 but I love it!
I really liked how experimental this sounded
I tried to have an open mind, but I've never been a Springsteen fan
Loved it right until the bonus material kicked in
Fun to hear some lesser known tracks
Great album, great memories. Fun to listen to the whole thing instead of the "best of" for a change!
One of my all-time favorites! I've seen them perform the entire album through live many times. Love it!
It was really cool to hear Brian Eno's rock music. I think of electronic ambient music when I hear his name. I also didn't know he was part of Roxy Music - interesting!
I love this album so much. I think this might have been one of the first five or so CDs I ever owned, and did I ever listen to it!
I could only find this on YouTube. My guess is that they couldn't clear the samples that were used. Too bad - good stuff.
I thought "Money (That's what I want)" was a Spinal Tap original. Such a funny song, and I loved hearing The Beatles perform it!
I enjoy the humor and have mixed feelings about the music. I like his flow, and that he is experimental, but the result doesn't always vibe with me very well. Still a brilliant piece of work!
Can't get enough of The Smiths
Great discovery!
I remember people suggesting this to me when it was new, and I tried it and didn't really dig it. I liked it better this time around!
I've never understood the appeal of Bob Dylan. I love other music from the period, and other folk music. But I have a hard time listening to Bob Dylan, and barely pushed myself through listening to the whole album. I'd literally given up and then seen that I only had one more track to go, so I finished listening, but damn, that hurt.
This is the most I've ever wanted to have half stars. This is good, and I can't only give it a three, but I don't really feel it's a four either. But for Queen, I'll round up!
My kind of weird. Had to resort to YouTube to find this. I couldn't find it on Apple Music or Spotify. Too bad! Reminded me of Metal Machine Music for how it could be at the same time awful and awesome.
I really liked it, but I didn't think it was a real standout from other dance music.
This was the second Zeppelin album I listened to, and the first one I bought. All killer, no filler, and released in my birth year.
Def Leppard songs were such a mainstay of high school dances in the 80s
I named one of my Baldur's Gate 3 characters Rudy after "A Message to you Rudy". Great album.
Cool, and new to me
Until "All That You Can't Leave Behind" I didn't like U2. But that album clicked with me, and then I suddenly liked their back catalog too. Strange, but yeah, this is great!
We need more stars for albums like this. Was my fave in high school, but now I like Dark Side of the Moon better. Still a stellar album!
I got a headache while listening to it. Was it the album's fault? Maybe not entirely, but I wasn't digging it.
I really tried to like this. I turned it up and really tried to get into it. No dice. Then I had to pause it for a meeting, and I'm like "how much more of this do I have to listen to?" Turns out I was on the second last track of the first disc of a 6 CD set. Nope, DNF. Two stars because I didn't really hate it, I just didn't like it.
