Beep boop beep
IDM with deep themes? That's like catnip to me. Love this so much.
Fantastic
Cool soundtrack
Decent until Crash and Carry, then it becomes amazing.
cool
My wife introduced me to Orbital, and this is one of the albums she had a physical copy of and was in high rotation. For people who know me they would understand that I Wish I Had Duck Feet is a fave. I really like Philosophy by Numbers and the way it feels more like an extension of Science Friction. Kein Trink Wasser, Quality Seconds are great and Are We Here? is another favourite.
Not necessarily the Orbital album I woulda chosen, but what the hell, you can't go too far wrong. This is very much the sort of chin-stroking intellect-masturbatory music that appeals to the specific type of nerd that I am. I started out being a nowt-but-metalhead but I could see the utility in ambient music for soothing scene-setting. Orbital was the first act that made me think I could enjoy upbeat electronica too. Fave track - "Forever", maybe, or "Are We Here?" - I'd happily listen to the whole album again at the drop of a hat though...
Partially too experimental, but in general - an epic electronic opus
This is right up my street. Added to my collection, heard a fair bit of dirge from orbital, and some that I absolutely love, (illuminate is my absolute fave and I can't stand David Gray usually). Anyway, this was a great listen, not one for every day, but great end of busy week relaxing album.
Pretty good beats to relax to.I was doing other stuff while I was listening.Perfect for that.
I like it
A peculiar album, even the repetitiveness of the album doesn't make it boring, it makes you follow a kinda dream. It's just so interesting to hear but I don't think it's and album to hear everyday or every moment
I’ve listened to orbital before and loved them so seeing this album come up got me excited and it was a really good listen! All tracks I really enjoyed.
Amazingly groundbreaking IDM from the 90's. Still sounds fresh and new.
Exactly what my brain needed on a stressful Wednesday morning. Orbital are at their best when they're doing more chilled-out stuff.
Very cool electronica. Enjoyed it a lot
Huge part of my 90s soundtrack
Very unique ambiance, I love it !
Found a new favorite artist
richtig gutes Album, schön abwechslungsreicher Elektro
Awesome
7/10 Best songs: Crash and Carry Interestingly, I just got Orbital's debut album about 1.5 weeks ago. This album is just as good as that one, with some enjoyable long early-90s experimental techno/electronica. That being said, did both albums belong on this list? No, probably not. This is probably the album that could've been cut. I still like it though.
Dope background music.
I think this is a bit and they’re committed to it… The original pet sounds but this is literal pets making sounds. I transcended when Crash and Carry came on. These songs needed to be either half as long or twice as long but I can’t decide.
A little samey through the album's runtime but still a great time.
Techno rave music through and through. Only really knew Orbital from Halcyon On & On which has been a part of my rotation since I watched the original Mortal Kombat as a kid on VHS. There's not a lot here for people who don't want the driving repetition but for me there is more than enough variety from track to track and even within the tracks that I never got bored. It activates my brain and melds seamlessly to drive me on, either in the background or foreground. So glad I've finally sat down to truly see more of their work.
If ravers made elevator music. 4/5
Kor slemt e det på en skala fra en til en hel masse å si at det her e perfekt bakgrunnsmusikk til arbeidet? Sikkert ganske mye, men det e sant.
This is actually pretty funny. I could see working to this.
This was a great trance, danse track. I am obviously biased towards these sort of electronic heavy synth songs and albums, but this was the right combination of meditative and energetic. I like the interjections, it was playful and chill. Not you know ground breaking, but still quite good.
a lot better than I thought, gen good electronic and defo has some bangers
Despite being from the birthplace of techno, that being Detroit, I admit that I find a lot of it lacking something for me. The standard rave music I've heard holds little emotional appeal; its just garden variety music to dance to. But for some reason, with a couple of albums, Orbital have been the exception to that rule. Its both very worthy of being at your typical rave, while having an emotional feel where its just good to listen to. This particular album may be a little less the straightforward rave sound like the Brown album and a little more song oriented, but in a way similar to Underworld. It both starts and ends with fantastic tracks, with some other gems spread throughout (the latter half of "Are We Here?" is lovely). Pretty great.
This is pretty good. I liked it enough to go look at their other albums and put their most recent one on as well. Pretty good. Probably helped to listen in the car during the commute.
Very good ambient/techno album which would have been great in a festival tent but good to listen to in the car. Kein Trink Wasser war eine Überraschung!
This tickles my brain in just the right way. Turns out I love repetitive electronic music.
I think electronic music is growing on me
It reminds me a little bit of the Cowboy Bebop OST.
A very good garage album, I love England!!! This album was very enjoyable and funky. Rating:4/5 GEMV (20.04.2026)
Above average electronic music. Don't mind it much at all. Enjoyed it a lot, some great beat, very pleasurable, good production. Some electronic music is just idle MRI noises, but this stuff has melody, feel, and rhythm. Kinda long but that's expected from an electronic album of the day. Pleasantly surprised, considering all the reviews panning it.
Like other electronic music, the songs are too repetitive, too long. But these songs are less about making you forget, but helping one meditate. Difficult to get lost in a mindles dance. Interesting. 3.5/5
The sounds and the composition doesn't hit me in the same way as the first two Orbital records which are absolute classics. That's not to say that there aren't highlights on Snivilisation. It's a fine record and the album closer is an absolute masterpiece that recalls Kraftwerk a bit but it sounds contemporary to the 90s and still futuristic thirty years after it was released.
I really liked some of the tracks. Slower, alsmot instrumental electronic music. But some I don’t love so 4
I was first drawn into Orbital from the cover design of the following album, In Sides. As was the way in the mid 90s, this meant I eventually bought the album more or less blind, and was not disappointed. So eventually I explored the back catalogue and own a copy of Snivilisation (along with three of their later efforts) as well. It's not one that really stuck with me through the years though, and lives in the portion of my CD collection in the loft, rather than the few hundred albums I keep handy. That said, listening to it a couple of times this week has reminded me what a good, ambient acid house album it was and more broadly what a great act they were in the 90s. I'd have preferred In Sides for the list although the later, somewhat more accessible although critically maligned 'The Altogether' was my personal favourite. Still, I've appreciated the nudge to give this one a bit more time of day for the first time in many years, while also doing some re-acquaintance with the others in the process. I suspect the global average won't do them justice (British, electronica, wrong side of an hour in length, 'waah, waah, it's too repetitive'... etc) but I'm inclined to land on the higher side of the 3/4 fence on this occasion.
I was a little annoyed at first of getting another techno album. But I looked back and the other Orbital album on the list is the one techno album I’ve liked so far. And this one is similar. I don’t why this is the one techno group I seem to like, but they manage to make their beeps and boops somehow interesting
8.5
Massive improvement on recent offerings
Last couple songs got kind of long. But overall good vibes.
i can dig it!
I enjoyed listening to this group while commuting o the train. Some songs have that Autobahn feel to them. It was also a pleasure listening to it at home relaxing.
This album is very good. Very out there. I like it.
I Wish I Had Duck Feet is a fucking banger. Several really cool songs. Feels like it'd be music featured in the hit video game Cyberpunk 2077.
Verrry interesting sounds. Inventive electronica.
Interestingly, the album started off slow and not very interesting, even annoying here but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. It's one of those albums that are much better as it goes on. It's hypnotising and quite fascinating techno/downtempo. Not sure how to rate it, I feel like 4 stars would be a bit generous, but I don't want to give it 3 stars, the same rating I gave out for less entertaining albums. I'd rather round it up to 4.
Cool Album..enjoyed it. Will be giving this one some more play time.
In high school, I started getting into techno/electronica. But I was always more into downtempo or breakbeat or jungle, not trance. But I remember getting a compilation, Trance something Express 3 or 4 and Are We Here? was on there. Then I heard the shorter remix on the MTV Amp compilation and really dug it. Trance still isn't at the top for me but this can really soundtrack a morning. 4/5
This was new to me. Thoroughly enjoyed it, Crash & Carry, Kein Trink Wasser and Are We Here? all superb
One of the all time greats, thank you RPG!!!!!
Cracking electronic shifts !
A weird one but I liked it!
I was vaguely familiar with Orbital and never heard this album at all before. Loved it and will be going back to it soon. It's actually awakening a taste to listen to oldschool british electronic music.
7/10
I found this quite musical, which is unusual for electronic music. I also very much liked the spoken word samples, they were interesting and well chosen.
That wasn't bad at all. It's amazing that the album wasn't released until the mid-90s. The sound is actually reminiscent of older German electronic pioneers. But then there are also a few passages that sound very much like trance, which I also like. I'm sure I won't listen to the album again anytime soon, but who knows? 4/5
If you don't like electronica, especially mid 90's electronica, you are voting this a 1 or 2. If you do like electronica, you are probably voting this 4 or 5. I feel so lucky to have artists like Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy all coming on the scene when I was a teenager in the early 90's. Music, raving, after hours chill out......halcyon days.
A fun peek behind the curtain into the rave/acid house music scene in the early 90s UK. Super groovy, super danceable (probably even more so on hard drugs). I was immediately taken in by the trance-y, hypnotic house vibes. If you listen closely, you'll really appreciate the several intricate layers the two brothers add to really breathe life into their beats. Also, as a big Röyksopp fan, I was delighted to hear Alison Goldfrapp's voice on "Sad But True" and "Are We Here?" - her vocals are angelic and almost always elevate any song in the EDM genre to another level.
Some really good moments but there's definitely better orbital albums.
Chill electronic music with varied and interesting sounds that aren’t too dated over 30 years later.
Rating: 8/10 Orbital goes hard. Some of the best 90’s techno if you’re into that sort of thing, just an hour+ of beautifully constructed rhythmic club beats. If there are weak points for me, it’s Philosophy by Numbers for the annoying vocal sampling and the quick interlude Quality Seconds (ironic). The last two tracks make up nearly half an hour and are very rewarding for the time investment because they’re the best ones. This album is sick
I've been traveling through dimensions, phasing in and out of reality. Some might call me a time traveler, others would describe me as a temporal vigilante. I sit up, in a cold sweat - I'm in the 90s. My vision is blurry, my head is throbbing, but I can hear quiet industrial beats coming from my CD player. Farts, bubbles popping, a rainstick, all in rhythm to a tasty percussive beat; the original humans must have believed this album to be influential. How long have I been here? Hours? Days? Neither - I'm only at the beginning of fourth song on the album. I lay back down, and let Science Friction take me. I don't know where or when I'll end up, but I know the journey won't be a gentle one. 7.0/10
4.1 It is very good. I had Orbital recently on here and I think my comment was that it sounds like a radio-friendly version of Autechre, and this comment is so much more true of this outing. Yes, at 75 minutes it is probably a lot longer than it needs to be, with certain tracks like Kein Trink Wasser running way too long, which do detract slightly. But there are some great moments. The opening track, Science Friction and the latter half of Are We Here the highlights (again though, does the latter track really need to be 15 minutes?). I think 90s UK electronica needs more representation in this list, so many great albums from so many great artists missing from this list, so maybe my high score reflects that partially. But still, it's a very good album that I've never heard before, and that's what this list is all about.
I think I like this. I am not entirely sure.
Mega chill
Sounds so fresh
I knew I’d hate this from the first second of the first song. How wrong I was! The first half of this is great, although slightly let down by the second half. I listened to the first 3 mins of each track because of time constraints, so can’t give this top marks, but I really liked what I did listen to. Just a shame about the length really; no album needs to be 75 minutes long and there’s a 30 minute 5 star album hidden amongst all the filler here.
This is the background music on How It’s Made. All that is missing is the voiceover of the narrator explaining how a widget is made. “Today on How It’s Made, we follow the surprisingly precise journey of the everyday widget. It begins as raw material, carefully measured and fed into high speed machines that cut, shape, and smooth each piece to exact specifications. The parts move along a conveyor, where automated tools and skilled technicians work together to assemble them with remarkable efficiency. After a final inspection to ensure quality and consistency, the finished widget is packaged and shipped, ready to quietly do its job, all thanks to a process that blends engineering, timing, and just a little industrial magic.”
Good album.
Good electronic music. Needs further listens. Nothing sticking out as a memory the day after
I don’t knowingly know any Orbital but they’re an artist that’s always been one I’ve been aware of and would like to explore. I managed to listen to this on my headphones which seemed to be the right choice as I became immersed in its soundscapes. My only criticism is it is a bit long at 75 mins but the ambient closer, Attached justifies its runtime.
Very coool
I really like Orbital and this type of sound in general. There is some nostalgia in this for me. Helped me keep focus while driving today!
comme c'est doux, ca fait bien référence de puristes qui écoutent "la vraie éléctro" I Wish I Had Duck Feet ultime favorite
This is another one of those classic early 90s electronic albums that instantly evokes a sense of nostalgia. It’s packed with those classic piano and keyboard sounds that made me fall in love with electronic music in the first place. You can still hear traces of the earlier, more club oriented aesthetic, but now it’s filtered through the framework of early IDM and experimental electronic music. It’s also a great early example of ambient house and ambient techno, with experimental broken beats mixed throughout the album.
This album was an amazing critique of technology and consumerism. Without lyrics I think so much was conveyed through the song titles and sampled voices. “Philosophy and Numbers” is a great example of this. The two samples are introduced with one talking about philosophy and the other technology. At the end of the song, they go back and forth trading the ideas to each other and that's where the meaning of this album really clicked for me. The album art is a perfect representation of this, and it's now one of my favorites. There's so much symbolism packed in there I could talk about it forever (see what i did there). This album is political and makes statements. I'm automatically interested in a piece of art when the artist isn't afraid to share these thoughts. Besides the messaging I resonate with, the music is ear candy and was composed very creatively. There are so many fun sounds and satisfying moments. “We Are Here” is a highlight for me. its a whole album within the album. Very political and environmental with developing instrumentals. I loved the album and I was shocked to see how low the average rating was. Each song was so intentional and had a story to it. Even if I interpreted the song different than intended i got so much out of every song I think this album would make a great soundtrack to a space movie btw - Tess
Forever: 7/10, I enjoy the synth, this sounds like the background music in an nerdy adventure building/working game(like satisfactory), or the background of the one part that is sped up while their working in science show. I Wish I Had Duck Feet: 3/10, it sounds like my brain when Im thinking and having a stomachache at the same time Sad But True: 8/10, this reminds me of a monitor in a hospital or a science lab, but it's also giving ascension. some lyricism is reminding me of those Egyptian stereotype songs Crash And Carry: 8/10, sounds like drumline cadence for the first 30secs.spunky, and reminds me of the history channel but in the 2010s Science Fiction: 9/10, it reminds me slightly of a boss fight in an indie game with the lower tones, I like the plink plink waterdrop sounds Philosophy by Numbers: 11/10, holy shit this is by far the best song, the plinking and the speaking and the noises are so trippy, I like how they dropped the synth around the end, it reminds me of the one computer game Portal Kein Trink Wasser: 5/10, I like the piano part but when the beat drops it gets too repetitive, this reminds me of the color code #52B2BF. Quality Seconds: 1/10, why do we sound like a broken mri machine with drums? also too repetitive for my liking Are We Here: 9.5/10, start sounds like victor sheet music before he adds to it. at 8:05 I swear I start ascending because THIS PART IS SO PERFECT. 9:00, holy shit opera singer fr. 14:30 is like the end credits in an indie movie about love and hate? Attached: 10/10, it's got the Mario desert theme thing in there and it's elegant but also funky and opera like. pewpewpew noises
Low 4 stars I really enjoyed listening to this album. It gave me something really interesting to immerse myself into during my late night drive to the airport. The first few tracks feel really muted, yet flowing? (average synth player trying to describe tones :P), and really reminded me of Stereolab or some early Aphex Twin. A lot of the songs had voice samples pop in and out: and I really appreciated when they did, it made those songs sound really full of life imo. The middle of the album started to get higher and higher in sharpness and energy (my words arent wording but hear me out), until we hit two of my favourite tracks, Kein Trink Wasser and Quality Seconds. Both of these sounded so cool omfg. The first one I thought was so cool with how they were able to bring in the piano and then the drums and then layer them both together, and the second one just sounded like a hardcore band but instead of guitars you gave them computers. The message behind the voice samples in Are We Here? also kinda made me think a little bit. However, especially towards the middle and the end of the album, it started to drag and get a little bit repetitive. Really not a fan of that closing track. But, anyway, I could definitely see myself coming back to the beginning few tracks of the album to either study to, or find inspiration for synth tones and whatnot. Favs: Forever**, I Wish I Had Duck Feet, Crash and Carry, Kein Trink Wasser, Quality Seconds Dislikes: Attached, Philosophy By Numbers
It's either the chillest dance floor or the hypest chill-out tent
A little bit techno, a little bit D&B. Not my go-to but I enjoyed it enough

I know people don't like this kind of music.. But I like this kind of music.
Fantastic for the classroom
I really like the range of sounds they experiment with in this. I especially loved how hard they came out of nowhere with Quality Seconds, even if it felt out of place. This album is cool vibes and feels like ear candy.
This is that really good old school electronic music.
Cool
That’s a long album. I really liked it, showing my age but it’s the same reason i love any jean michel jarre album. Just put it on and let it do it’s thing while you get on and do your thing.
Sounded like the soundtrack to a PS1 game in all the right ways. Really enjoyed it.
I had low expectations of this album, I'm not quite sure why. I think it's because I thought Orbital were more of a dance band. This, mostly quite laid back electronica was quite a bit better than I expected and, while it didn't blow me away, I did enjoy it.
exceeded my expectations quite a bit. i quite enjoyed it. the beepin and a'boopin were good to work to
I am a big fan of electronic music so I am obviously biased to that extent. However, I was not all enthusiastic about this album because I felt bored of it in the beginning. It was only during the last two tracks that I really started to dig it's vibe and enjoyed it insurmountably. It is surprising for me because two tracks were very long, I believe at 12 minutes long and I am not a big fan of listening for more 10 minutes for a song. But due to it being a solid EDM track, I really did like it.
this feels like both a better version of lofi and the exact music Electronica was ment to be. I don't get Electronica. I am very open and honest with myself that music with no lyrics rarely appeals to me. This one did. This is exactly what I imagine city beats to be. A lyricless album will only go that far in my ranking but this one went.
Really enjoyed this. Orbital seems to really make some sounds that work for me.
I'm surprised this is the Orbital album given to listen to over the Brown Album, but this album is great, Orbital are geniuses, and I'm just going to listen to a bunch of 90s acid house stuff for the rest of the week.
90s electronica. Good vibes.
A quite nice listen, it doesn’t sound 30 years old. I did get a bit bored of it towards the end. Nice background music at work or on a walk.
I liked it
Decent! Not my scene at all but i thought it was imaginative and kept me interested
When two of the longer, more prominent songs on Snivilisation are tacked on at the end, one has to assume that Orbital were not lacking in confidence; if anything, the duo's hold on the electronic music scene was getting stronger while they were veering off towards more far-flung places. Whether made for illicit raves that their country was cracking down on or for the more individualistic listener with the Walkman in hand (or streaming service in this day and age), Orbital's grey album is well worth the hour plus long acquainting. Favorites: Forever, Sad but True, Science Friction, Philosophy by Numbers, Kein Trink Wasser, Are We Here?, Attached.
4/5
Nice electronic album. Liked the sound a little better than Architecture and Morality. Some moments were a bit goofy, though (Philosophy by Numbers, for instance)
"Snivilisation" feels like a pioneering effort in electronic music. Some tracks have a timeless quality that could easily be remade with modern EDM sounds and effects, though the beeps and bops do feel a bit dated now. It’s definitely a hit or miss album, for an electronic lover like me, tracks like "Are We Here?" really resonate, while others, like "Quality Sounds," just don’t hit the mark.
I, of course, know who Orbital is, and I've heard some of their songs, but I don't think I've ever listened to a full album by them, and I really loved this one. It's not perfect, but it's very chill, relaxing, but still fun and interesting like a lot of electronica and EDM at the time. I definitely will be listening to this one and some of their other stuff in the future!
This is exactly what you hope to find in such a list. Never heard of them, and it's really good, always interesting and (mostly) still feels kind of fresh. Some songs are better than others, for example Are we here ? starts interesting but drops mid way through, I wish I had duck feet is just bad, but there is a couple of bangers, (give me a club pogo on quality second anyday) and some nice ambient-y music. It's varied, trippy and the scope is perfect, there is little to really dislike here.
This was interesting.
Very good. The second quarter is weak compared to the rest of the album but it's full of character overall. Forever, Sad But True, Kein Trink Wasser and Are You Here? are all immense
Some electronic, not the kind I'd listen to for the entire album. But it actually grew on me
Dreamy electronic beats that kept me going on my work day. Could imagine listening to this album while on an epic drive to the country or the coast soaking in the gorgeous landscapes.
Thought this was super lovely tbh!! Had a great time vibing to it, especially the middle section
i loveeeeeee techno !!! this album was so fun
Never heard of them but I was really vibin.
Buenazo
Orbital have two entries in the 1001 - this album and the immediately preceding, much heralded Orbital 2 (Brown Album). If it were me compiling the 1001, I'd have personally made a stronger case for the following In Sides to feature over this one. However, Snivilisation is still a very enjoyable and thoroughly interesting ambient techno sprawler at 75 minutes in length, although it is a much less digestible and accessible release owing to its stronger sense of eclecticism and complexity. It tends to be the somewhat overshadowed middle child, perhaps also not helped by being released in 1994, which was a particularly strong year for electronic music. You had Aphex Twin / Caustic Window, Autechre, The Future Sound of London, Global Communication, Massive Attack, Oval, Portishead, The Prodigy, Underworld et al. releasing some of their very best material that year, the majority of those leaning into friendlier takes on ambient, IDM, techno, trip hop and other stylings which were making waves at the time. You could leave me on a desert island with nothing to listen to but a curation of 1994 electronic albums for a month, this included, and I'd be quite content with that, although this one would probably be one of the last from that crop that I'd be actively reaching for. I've found myself slipping into an electro-rabbit hole over these last few months, making some amazing discoveries along the way, although Orbital are an act I've always been familiar with and have had an appreciation of, owing to my Dad's tastes.
I'm not a fan of electronic music but this band was pretty good. Constant great rhythms with changes in tone and melody.
enjoyable random noises
A little nerve wracking
I enjoyed it, another good album for background music
interesting experimental electronic music
On Snivilisation, Orbital channel to past as well as the future. There's clearly Kraftwork influence in the driving repetitive rhythms that simulates the feeling of steady movement and the charming melodies, but Orbital also predicts Vaporwave by means of the commercial samples and liminal drones that linger behind the beats. I was ready to rate this a 3 because one of my criteria is how the album makes me feel while listening to it, however, I caught myself dancing with my cat for more than a few songs, so I think it gets a 4 by default. There's some inspired stuff here. It's not as ambitious as other albums on the list, but what Orbital does, they do well. Not to mention: 1994? Orbital were making future music.
a few circumstances of compromised receptiveness to the outside world are making it extra hard for me to form thoughts ab stuff i have very little language for in the first place but i still had a v good time. ig my main observation is just how unexpected the sources of some of the rhythmic power are, theres always a lil bit more shape than just a regular drumbeat. theres a quirky and vaguely dark edge to the whole record, which reading about it does come in that moment in history where the uk was attempting to legislate rave culture out of existence. theres impish rebellion, a bit of fearfulness, and a lot of beauty ofc
So normally I dislike electronica, but this one works for me. I put it on while building some kitchen cabinets and I kept bopping to it. Weird, but it think because they mix in actual sounds and other music it works. It's not all beeps and boops to me.
Top comment was a fun read Such a vibe when cooking so squeezes out the 4 Agree about Quality Seconds
Like the 90s themselves, that was quite a ride.
Cracking album; genre defining.
At first I rolled my eyes at yet another British 90s obscure techno album, but I actually found myself bopping along quite a bit on this one. Definitely sounds way ahead of its time. Would definitely turn it on again as some background beats.
I liked it. Never heard of this before. I thought it was good
I liked it, goes a little long and has some dated moments, but some really good jams and textures.
Similar vibes to Aphex twin, very lowkey, nice ambient vibes with odd samples
This was a pretty cool album. I put this on while gaming and it was a good vibe. Lots of unique beats and sounds and some occasional vocals to keep things varied and interesting. Some techno gets boring after a while but I was engaged the entire listen. Standouts were "Sad but True," "Crash and Carry" "Kien Trink Wasser" A solid 4/5, just the right amount of weird and techy/spacy sounding crap. A couple songs were a bit long and grating, keeping this from a 5, but I liked most of it a lot!
Something different so I enjoyed it as background tunes. Nailed the electronic vibes
This one is very beep and boopy. I like most of the tracks. There’s plenty of variety on this one Fav tracks - Forever - Sad but true - Crash and carry on - Science Friction - Are we here? Worst track - I Wish I Had Duck Feet
techno minimalista do mais pica hein, curti bastante. tranquilim, sem muita quebradeira. vou usar pra trabaiar!!
Regarding the other electronic albums on this list, this one actually felt more meaningful. It involved more complex layers to the mix.
Matrix cave scene vibes But a bit more nineties club less end of the world
Not a bad album, but I feel like it's on here because it's a more complete album than Orbital 2 (despite Halycon + on + on being one of the best songs around) so as a "you must hear it before you die" it gets ranked higher and these guys deserve the credit. So yeah, album wise? It's fine. But it doesn't have any real bangers and suffers from what music like this always suffers from in a greatest albums thunderdome: it lacks the force to really blow you away simply because of what and how it is. All that bloviating out of the way, great tunes. One of those groups that doesn't piss me off that the songs are fifteen fucking minutes long because they have a really great sense of how to do the variations on a theme thing. Simultaneously want to ding it and laud it for its relative variety.
Snivilisation I really liked Orbital 2, and initially I didn’t enjoy this as much, finding the first half in particular a little too uniform, and with too much of a twinge of shirtless male dancers in headdresses and goggles banging mad max style oil drums with spanners on Top of The Pops. However, in the back half there’s a bit more variation and texture, eg the piano on Kein Trink Wasser, and the feel of Philosophy By Numbers and Are We Here? And on further listens the whole thing grew on me a lot, especially as I just let it run on repeat while I was working. And I started to really like the sampled voice on Philosophy by Numbers, it had a 90s fly on the wall doc/information phone line vibe that was pleasingly nostalgic. I don’t think it has quite the same sense of minimalist flow as Orbital 2 though, it feels a little more disjointed between the 1st half and 2nd halves, it doesn’t quite have the feel of musical movement across it’s runtime, but it still is a great electronic album that I’ll definitely come back to, making it a solid 4. 🛢️🛢️🛢️🛢️ Playlist submission: Are We Here?
I was won over by the nascent ambient dance of Orbital 2. This one seems an evolution of sorts, a bit more social commentary included, less hardcore beats and even more ambience. At times it even veers into what your raver may call softer territory with the likes of 'Attached' which has all the melodic signposts of Lemon Jelly. There seems much less of a focus on the club scene, and more on building a mood at home perhaps with a special cigarette. It's the come down album after the rave of Orbital 2.
Not a big Electronica fan but I really enjoyed this. It was diverse, had some good beats and even a thrashy song ("Quality Seconds") I also enjoyed the songs with a female vocalist. Made me want to listen to more of them
Definitely glad I heard this album as it is filled with moods and emotions.
Pleasant grooves
It’s fine
Mysterious secrets of the rave. Minimalism, experimentalism, and classic techno collide. Conceptually rich, diverse and epic.
Good album. I've heard of a few singles from Orbital, but never a full album. Great production and sound. Nothing jumped out as amazing, but it was enjoyable.
4.35 bc it gets too repetitive at times with the song lengths but I've greatly enjoyed it overall.
Kinda stereotypical, but kinda good
Great workday music. There is not an Orbital release that I don't like. They are indeed the soundtrack of a generation.
This is one of the few albums I’ve heard that are long and boring, but in a good way. This album feels like it works best when you shed the expectation of it being full of non-stop entertainment and variety, and just let each track take you on a journey. Favorite Track: Crash and Carry
Dangerously lit
I was already familiar with Orbital, being a big fan of their album "Orbital 2", despite not having delved too deep into the world of '90s techno. While I didn't enjoy this album as much as that one, the experience as a whole was more or less similar. What you'll get here are hypnotic arrangements, danceable grooves, ethereal and cacophonous lead melodies, and the occasional spliced-driving or tone-setting sample. And the entire experience is really driven by an atmospheric undertone that's just otherworldly - especially on a song like 'Are We Here?' and the shifting synths of 'Attached' that reminded me of a Steve Roach movement. The song 'Science Friction' might be the most gorgeous piece here. I just love that subtle melody in the background and the wayward keys in the foreground - I can listen to it for hours. The drumless intro of 'Kein Trink Wasser' takes a while to catch its groove, but when it does, it manages to induce that same hypnotic effect that so many other moments here do - no drums needed! While not as forward-thinking as a group like Autechre, nor as memorable and well-executed as "Orbital 2", and the vocal loops do *occasionally* age this record, I was still entranced the whole way through. Just some really solid techno music - given my very limited frame of reference, that is.
Beat exercise in 90s electro sound
I got lost in the sauce with this a couple of times. Crash And Carry felt like I was under a trance. Philosophy By Numbers was trippy as hell, but I enjoyed the weirdness. Quality Seconds is a WILD detour. It shreds, but double check your volume before that one comes on. The 2 songs after get the album back on the psychedelic vibe, but it did drag for me towards the end. I'm landing at 3.5 stars for this one. I was at a 4 before the end, so I'll just bump it to that.
Well I really enjoyed the last Orbital entry on the list. This is a bit of a long one, but I'm looking forward to the ride. Forever is a fine way to open the album. Love the silky, wandering synthlines playing over the drum and bass. Its like the musical equivalent of lens flare. Sad but True is magnificently quirky and groovy. Feels like something befit for a sci-fi bazaar scene. Man I am loving the looping and layering at work here -- Crash and Carry is another fine entry. Quite a bit more dancy with higher BPM, skittering high-hats, and some daunting fuzzed out synth melodies. Kein Trink Wasser is a change of pace with the piano led instrumentation with strings, etc. Nice in the way that it bobs along. Well this was truly delightful. Back to back listens -- high 4 / 5.
Another Orbital album! In my last review I said I might come back to Oribtal 2 and I certainly did. I have probably listened to that album another 5-6 times so I am happy to get more Orbital. Feels like a very similar album with maybe a little bit more variety in sound. Kein Trink Wasser is a winner.
This was a trip of an album. Some really cool techno/electronic beats and sounds which were all over the place. Nothing super repetitive and it all was very fresh for each song. I didn't get the closest listen cause I kept getting interrupted while listening but still really enjoyed when I was listening. Seems like I liked this one more that the last Orbital album.
All around a pretty chill album UNTIL Quality Seconds. Came out of nowhere and had to check I was listening to the same album. Album went pretty quick considering it's over an hour. Very enjoyable and psychedelic.
I thought that was pretty cool! Video game music
Good for concentration at work!
Normally not a bid techno fan but I just grooved on this. Probably rocks with acid
67/1089 - Strange. A mix of genuinely good techno (Sad But True) and baby's first fl studio beat (Kein Trink Wasser). Good outweighs the bad in this instance.
You had me at "(featuring Alison Goldfrapp)." By its nature, this isn't something you're going to be able to actively listen to very easily, but as an ambient artform, it delivers. I will say, however, that it runs a bit long (as an album and, at times, as individual tracks). Still, not bad for what it is. I'd probably have given it a 3, but Alison's worth an extra star.
Alternative electronic music. Very cool. Keon Trink Wasser is a banger with the repetitive piano. Not a fan of I Wish I Had Duck Feet - too much on the weirdness.
Y'see? This is what this whole project is about. I can tell you with 100% certainty there is not a chance in hell I would have listened to this album outside of this project, but man is it an interesting one. Was skeptical going in after having to listen to Timeless, wasn't pumped about another 1990s era English 75+ minute long electronic album, but most every song in this album is different and interesting, and I loved sitting down and listening to *the majority of this. Certainly won't be going in my absolute top tier or anything, but I'm definitely glad I listened to it. Attached sounds like a song that would play at the entrance to EPCOT and I'm not going to pretend I don't appreciate that, and Crash and Carry just DRIVES.
I feel like some albums in the project get the short end of it if they happen to pop up at a time when the mood isn't right. Well this album came at just the right time. A little bit high, enjoying an old fashioned, and at the end of a long weekend in need of some chill. Was really vibing with the last track "Attached."
Literally the blade soundtrack, loved it, like underground music in a concrete basement
A five course meal for the ears
Pretty fun. Everytime I see electronic music from the 90s, it's a good bet
A fantastic listening experience! The transitions between songs were good, and I loved every track. Lots of unique sounds. I will probably listen to some more of their songs.
vintage future asmr ‘94
I've always kind of liked this album. It's a bit like electronic music that doesn't quite belong in the club or in the bedroom, but exists just out in the world somewhere. Orbital craft some pretty interesting sounds that tell a story. I'd argue that it's not their best work, but it was the first album that married dancefloor techno with a poppier kind of ambient. For me, their previous album "Orbital 2" had the best hits. Their follow up album "Insides" is where they really hit their stride, but "Snivilisation" set the blueprint for it first. It takes a bit more time to think about and it works best as a whole experience, complete with subtle bits of social commentary reflecting the political end of rave culture, effectively setting the sounds out into the larger world.
That was banger
Actually really enjoyed this. Got some avalanches, panda bear and bull ant vibes.
Tracks 1 through 8 come and go. Nothing fancy, nothing that stands out besides the personal favorite "Philosophy by Numbers". Tracks 9 and 10 though, OH BOY. I wish the whole album sounded like that. Overall, 3.5/5. But I'm gonna give it a 4 in favor of those two final tracks.
beep boop a lot of this rocked. my cat lied down on the desk while this was on, i think he was feeling it
Some boring and irritating stuff in the middle but overall this is much much more interesting than most acid house albums (more of a singles format). Makes me feel remiss for never having checked these guys out more.
Loved it
really enjoyed this & it will probably go into my "listening while working" shuffle. 3.5
Wow. What a surprise. Never heard it before and it’s such a beauty.
One day I'll work out the difference between Orbital and The Orb. Today is not that day. Feels like a great version of bleep bloop music in any case.
Twas paired very well with my crazily dark and foggy drive (with lots of car lights) to work and back! Never really bothered listening to this group, so came as a nice surprise.
Great focus music.
Revolutionary at the time I'm sure. Now it's background music for working a tech job.
Worth another listen, some neat percussion.
Trippy
I’ve never heard of Orbital before, but I’ve enjoyed a lot of the electronica music that I’ve reviewed so far, so I expect I’ll probably enjoy this album too. I enjoyed this album quite a bit, and it’s definitely in the upper tier of electronica albums I’ve listened to, especially from the nineties. I was a bit daunted by this album’s run time when I was reading about it, but the 75 minutes that I spent listening to it really flew by. The music was really varied, and I liked all of the elements that went into it. A few notes on some specific songs I liked: -The flame noises at the end of “Forever” were really cool, and they went along perfectly with the speech about condemnation. -“I Wish I Had Duck Feet” reminded me of Crystal Castles (I love their music, don’t like Ethan Kath), with the vibrating effect that they used on the vocals (I think “Magic Spells” is the song it reminded me of) -“Science Friction” was probably my favorite song on the album. I loved the lighter musical tones that were used. -I loved the piano on "Kein Trink Wasser,” it added a really great eighties vibe to the overall sound. -Even though it was the shortest part of the album, "Quality Seconds" was awesome, with its heavy rock sound This was a really good album overall. It’s not something I’d listen to every day, but I’ll definitely come back to it at some point.
This is incredibly unique
This would have been a kickass video game soundtrack. After "Orbital 2" put a sour taste in my mouth over two years ago, this finally won me over. Great boops, great beeps, can imagine Earthworm Jim shooting over it - only three things a good electronica album needs.
Interesting to listen to. It's funny to me to see that this was recorded in the beginning of the 90s. There's something timeless to it.
Really enjoyed it so different but familiar as well. 8/10
Honestly thought this was so good for electronic music. Some of the songs were a bit similar but enough variety where you could put it on in the background and enjoy. I liked this album a lot, especially compared to some other electronic music I’ve listened to.
Looked at the genre and length of this record and expected a bit of a slog but, I was pleasantly surprised. Very atmospheric and textured with a good variety too. While it does become a little bloated towards the end of the record it still ends up feeling like a journey throughout the soundscape.
Techno. Me ha gustado. Un 4.
We get such a strange assortment of European house/techno type albums, I had no idea where this would fall (and this is actually our second from Orbital). This one's great though! Some really bizarre and interesting textures on here, surprised how many of these long songs I really liked. Great album! I'd say nix the previous Orbital album in favor of this one, we really don't need two. Favorite tracks: I Wish I Had Duck Feet, Sad But True, Kein Trink Wasser, Are We Here. Album art: Wasn't keen on this at first glance but it's growing on me already. It's all grey, but looks to be some wires or headphones contorted into the shape of a person? Some little cars driving around the perimiter too, not sure what's going on. This is cool though. 4/5
Big fan but I love this type of music to zone out and work to.
Never listened to these guys until now, but this is definitely making me consider checking out the rest of their discography.
I’m at a 3.5 that I’ll bump up to a 4. Really, the only reason I’m not at a straight 4 is because Attached is such a fucking deflating last track. That was 12 minutes of a glorified loop and it just felt like a really sour note to end a really good album. Regardless, I will not let the final 12 minutes dictate what the first 63 gave to me, which was pretty fucking good. There’s some really fun soundscapes here, and while a lot of it leans into VGM-adjacent territory, I’ve just been listening to a lot of VGM lately, so this sort of soundscape fell right into my recent comfort zone. I think the production choices and sound design for most of this album are really good, and there’s a huge variety of synths to work with, and a lot of it comes together in a pretty harmonious way. The layering that builds up each track to get to something really concrete was well done throughout most of this album, and I found myself just vibing a lot. I do think the final 17 or so minutes of the album fall flat; that’s the final 4 minutes of Are We Here? and the entirety of Attached, but regardless, I found so much of this enjoyable to listen to that I’m completely fine with bumping it up to a 4. This is some quality stuff here, and I’m really glad it’s on this list.
A horrible album cover and name, but the Orbital folks have delivered another interesting album. The hypnotic beats and music keep me entranced. This will be good for working. 4/5.
Nice, dance is not really my thing but this was easy to listen to
Creative, disjointed in a wonderful way, beautiful at times. Really just a fantastic listen.
hell yea techno
Ahh 90s electronic music - love the random beeps and bloops of analog synthesisers!!
Рейв-культура - не моё, но но звучит очень приятно, есть качающие и цепляющие треки классные (как у группы Koop).
A strong electronic album - slightly dated on the production side but doesn’t detract from its quality
Super record. Quality seconds indeed
7/10 - if this album was every other song it might be a 9 or a 10. But if it was only the songs that were excluded in that every other it would be like a 3 or a 4. The last 2 songs however are pretty decent. I can hear so much inspiration was pulled from albums like this. Even in the songs I don’t like it likely inspired other songs I don’t like. The second song reminds me a bit of a few topi songs that I don’t enjoy greatly.
Some hard hitting techno to ambient trance, this is a super tasteful collection of the electronic scene done well. Really nice tones and movement in the song structures that get you right in the zone. Tracks like "Science Fiction" have a way of feeling floaty and meditative without going full on "Pure Moods" on you. "Kein Trink Wasser", for instance, has that big Chicago house piano energy at first but goes into an unusual chamber direction that you can bop to without even dropping a drum beat. Look for more range on the sprawling final 2 tracks featuring the jungle "Are We Here?" complete with the paper-slap snare over the top of a metallic snare and just about a thousand other drum sounds in between. This stuff is thinking way out of the box and that's why Orbital are legends.
Musical. Estaba bien, pero un poco repetitivo. Ambient-techno.
The evolution of electronic music!
This music rather passed me by at the time (I was aware of it, but never engaged with it). This is a pretty fine album, though it's really a bit long and rather overstays its welcome!.
first listen not that diverse in production but i found it meditative and nice
Quite cool actually
I think this is the second Orbital album I’ve been generated. The first was one of their self titled albums (the brown one) and I loved it. I have high hopes for today of some low-fi IDM that works like Ritalin. Let’s go! Songs I already knew: none Favourites: I Wish I Had Duck Feet, Are We Here This is just what I was hoping for. I had this playing while I was working today and it was great to have on while focusing on something. It isn’t overly technical, so never gets distracting, but is still interesting enough that it doesn’t feel boring in any way. As cliche as it may be, chill beats to study to are pretty great. And I never would have imagined I’d have said that before starting these daily reviews.
Was close between a 3 or 4 star for me, I’ve gone 4, few tracks went on for a little too long
Maybe not the most "essential" Orbital album, *Snivilisation* documents a transitional phase between the iconic *Orbital 2" and the bouncy and sonically more adventurous *In Sides* within the British band's discography--with more drum'n'bass rhythms, and less orthodox techno flourishes. The thing is, "transitions" can sometimes lead to an interesting offer that surprisingly ages better than expected (as witnessed in many key moments of this record: "Forever", " Sad But True", "Science Friction"...). The record loses the thread a little as it delves into increasingly grating dada experimental shenanigans (a tendency also found in *In Sides*, but probably better executed there). Yet the two last 10-minutes-plus epics "Are We here?" and "Attached" makes listening to this album until the end worthwhile. Aging well is not so easy in electronic genres. So I might revisit this album later on to confirm my suddenly large benevolent feelings here. 3.5/5 for the purposes of this list of "essential albums" (rounded up to 4)Which translates to a 8.5/10 grade for more general purposes (5+3). Number of albums left to review: less than 300, approximately (I've temporarily lost count here) Number of albums I'll include in my own list: half so far, approximately Number of albums I *might* include: a quarter, approximately (including this one) Number of albums I'll never include: another quarter (many others are more important to me)
Heeeel nice. Orbital 4 life.
really good
So weird and trippy, loved it!
A very pleasant techno/electronica album. Fitting for listening to as background, but some of the tracks straigh up ball. My favorite so far is "Sad but True" with the cool rhythmic beeps and the Moby-esque and Massive Attack-esque vocals throughout. Though it stays loyal to its overall theme the album in my opinion doesn't lack diversity either. It could be a little boring to listen when you're not feeling the vibe, but if you do it's definitely a good choice. Way better than Daft Punk imo. Thumbs up 7.5/10
Might have found one of my best studying albums. It's just busy enough to keep your mind satisfied and prevent you from falling asleep, and just calm enough as to stay in the background and not interrupt your thoughts. But couldn't imagine happily strutting down the street while having this playful plethora of beep boops injected into my pair of precious ear canals. That'd just make me sad:(
Interesting album
I have a soft spot for 90s British dance music
Fuzzy, zippy, excellent to run to, great electronic beats very 90s, very UK and actually very very enjoyable
The kind of electronic albums I can appreciate. It's too long for me to stay focused but still a very nice listening experience.
Too long, but the vibes are pretty cool. These albums can feel kinda boring, but this mostly avoids that.
En base a la crítica que hace el álbum al sistema judicial de Reino Unido sobre los raves, se plasma correctamente el concepto del mismo. La intención de los autores se denota en las melodías plasmadas en el disco acompañados de patrones rítimicos repetitivos.
I don't have a lot to say about this, but much like the first Orbital album that I got on here, this is really good 90s techno. It manages to be repetitive dance music without feeling repetitive 4/5
Not my style of music but if it was I would like this album.
Albumnamn till trots faktiskt rätt bra
Favorite Tracks: Kein Trink Wasser Are We Here?
I don't know how I went this long without ever hearing of this band. I'm not that knowledgable about EDM but still, these seem to be the OGs. If you told me this came out yesterday instead of 30 years ago I would believe you, it's so fresh. A whole lot of fun.
Loving this proto ambient techno
8/10 yeah I dig Orbital’s stuff it’s fun
туц-туц-туц алкоальбом: пиво на утро после рейва
Heck yeah, give me more of this! Not the most interesting album if I was focusing just on it, but in the background as I'm doing some work it's great. A bit of variety, good grooves throughout
First time listening to this album. I loved later Orbital back in the ought dickities. This feels like the threads that led to that. Enjoyable and worth a relisten.
Ahead of its time it would seem
This is a video game soundtrack type beat.
1994 was a pretty big year for techno music in the U.K. A multitude of large 90’s techno artists released albums this year, mostly in response to the Criminal Justice Act that banned raves in the country. Orbital was one of those artists, but if you didn’t know that beforehand, you wouldn’t be able to tell just by listening to this record. Like many techno records, this album’s antithesis is built on these long songs with really complex and winding instrumentals. Sometimes it takes a while for it to get to the good parts, which makes the album feel a little bloated and drawn out. But when those good parts do eventually come, they are pretty good. This is relatively run of the mill techno. The last two songs are both over 10 minutes. And given what I had heard on the rest of the album, I was a little worried this would be the worst of the bloat and slog. But surprisingly, Are We Here? was actually a pretty solid song that is paced well. But the closing track definitely falls more into the bloated category. The difficulty with this album is that there are just better electronic records from the same period I would rather listen to. Rating: 7/10
A neat listening experience. A little bit dub step, sort of reminiscent of The Art of Noise, but more industrial in sound.
early IDM really hits different.
Great example of 90s UK electronic. Not everything was trying to be The Prodigy, some people were making thoughtful, patient tracks you're meant to sit with.
Good
Completely new album to me which received multiple playback during the day. Solid effort.
Classic
nice noises arranged in a pleasing manner
The reason I like this project is finding things I never heard of, just like this band/album. "Crash and Carry" sold it to me, just the kind of techno I love. I didn't enjoy the album fully, but some dreamy psychedelic tracks here and there are the reason I'm giving a 4
Great electronic album. Enjoyed it greatly, very smooth an interesting progressions. Feels very ambient-like, but more powerful.
Very strange, and definitely an album I would not have discovered otherwise.
Very good electric album, I hate when electric songs have shit chat over the top of them, but this felt more refined No songs stood out to me, as is usually the case with electric, between 3/4* Some long songs as well
Surprisingly fun - a bit weird and a unique sound, but super enjoyable. Quite varied throughout the album
One of my faves so far altho personally prefer their first album. Enjoyed the heavier tracks on this one as the rest was a fair amount of electro-style beats, which I'm not a massive fan of generally. Feel privileged to have seen them earlier this year in Bristol too!
This is a pretty good listen and it's always nice to see electronic genres appear on the 1001 list. Some of the sounds have an impeccably warm 1990s vintage feel to them. I like how genre-spanning the album is, with elements of techno and drum & bass, but also bits of ambient and downtempo. Overall, I'd like the album to have more uptempo energy, which it only gets on the standout tracks. The spoken word samples don't do anything for me and are an annoying feature. I suspect this record was picked because it defines a specific era of British music culture (pretty much where the 1990s rave scene meets Glastonbury). There's no shortage of 1990s electronic albums that sound better than this one. 3.5*
pretty good electronic sound, enjoyed overall!
so early 90s. much enjoy
Fantastic for my focus groove.
I wasn't that impressed the first few listens, but this one grew on me the more I listened to it.
Techno. Me ha gustado. Un 4.
Weird electronic / house but not bad!
Great walking album, nothing crazy memorable but overall an enjoyable listen.
pretty sure whatever i wrote about the last orbital album applies here, it'll be something along the lines of the biggest hits being on the first album but it's still a very solid album.
3,5
Maybe an 8. I feel like it's pretty solid but I also don't care for techno.
A bit of a slow start, but by the mid/late point of the album I could see the charm of it all. I also get the feel like it has inspired many a modern electronic music producers. Favourite tracks: Kein Trink Wasser / Philosophy / Are We Here?
I liked that way more than I thought I would. For ambient techno, it never quite hits that "oh just kill me" level of repetitive noise. It's interesting, complex, compelling, and really incredible GSD background music. Seriously, I was so productive with this in my ears. Well done, Orbital. You get an extra star for helping me work.
Good sounds to hear for me
Enjoyed this album surprisingly. I think my rabbit did too
nice album; good for long, contemplative rides/runs/etc.
4 - very good with only 1/2 jarring tracks
Another artist I had heard of, but never heard. It was surprisingly enjoyable considering my usual tastes, great for a chilled evening. Currently sitting at artist #1207
Another great proof of concept. I like techno overall but had never hear of these guys. 1001 Albums led me to discover another great time decoration. Art decorates space and Music decorates time....
I liked this a lot. High quality electronic shit from the 90s. Mixing and shit has the same texture and feel of Dummy by Portishead. Added something from this album to a playlist I’m working on. Not 5 stars, but a solid listen.
Initial 3, minor interest in the genre. Later after reading positive reviews and a couple more listens- 4 stars. There is a lot of different going on both in each track, and across tracks.
I had never heard of this and was prepared to hate it based on the title. I thought for sure it was going to be some jokey, snide, statement about how, well, civilization is sniveling. And maybe it is but that kind of thing always feels pretentious and annoying to me. So I was happily surprised to find that it's a fun, cool, 90s techno album. I like it! I don't know where the title came from, but it's not an overpowering theme in the music itself. This was fun. I should listen to more 90s techno.
Diverse collection of electronic tracks. Great beats
Gimmedabloop Gimmedabloop
Bleep boop
Like a dank funky version of a Mr Scruff record. I loved every second of this goofy time
Compared to the previous Orbital album, this one has a little more variation with less club music. The club music is still the highlight and very well done.
Great merge of EDM and ambient genres.
spunky beats to squirm to
Crazy funky electric beats, something that had to grow on me to really enjoy Never could listen to these songs individually tho
This was fun, definitely music for being on drugs. I like how the tracks had multiple themes that intertwined and overlayed each other instead of just relying on one riff played over and over forever. Quality electronica.
Reminds me of watching Hackers and creating for DeviantArt.
Not their best album. Probably not in their top 3. Still very good though.
sound of snilver
Cool space sounds
No es lo mío pero me entretuve
This album transported me through orbit.
Trance usually bores me but I vibed with it today. A couple annoying clunkers but made for good morning commute background.
Cool house/trap sound.
Excellent album. I particularly enjoyed Quality Seconds.
Not Orbital's best album, but a corker nonetheless. Stand out track for me was Are We Here
Delicious, medium acidity, still very fresh, will age further.
