Not a big fan.
Dinosaur Jr's cover of "Just Like Heaven" was one of the first songs of theirs I heard, and it didn't do much for me. I didn't get hooked til Green Mind (which was post-Lou Barlow), and even then my fandom was pretty limited. You're Living All Over Me may be considered a classic nearly 40 years later, but I probably fall more in line what Wikipedia describes as "critical indifference and low sales" to its release.
Sounds like a badly recorded demo tape for a band I'm never going to sign.

Disappointed- I wanted to like it but it fell flat. Not particularly compelling
Back then, we'd refer to them as Sonic Youth Jr. With the perspective of time, I'm amazed at how appropriate that moniker, and the derision implied by it are. They are awash in the same noisy sheen as Sonic Youth's recordings of the same time but without a hint of the substance. Sonic Youth's sound reflects a disciplined artistic process; a reimagining of harmonic structures BASED ON AN understanding and then rejection of the dominant constructs of the day. Similarly, Thurston and Kim developed unique vocal styles that are interesting to listen to. By contrast, Mascis just sounds lazy. He understands the noise, but not the sound; and his vocals present like he just shouldn't have to bother developing technique or personal style. Jesus, even Joey Ramones took his vocals seriously. If Dinosaur, Jr. contributed anything to the evolution of music - as opposed to opportunistically jumping onto the coattails of some incredible artists - I'm not hearing it.
Fairly generic guitar band. Didn’t hate it but nothing stood out

I didn't mind listening to it, but it didn't even Nostalgia hit me so are you going I guess not everybody got into Dinosaur Jr when they came out.
Having heard other Dinosaur Jr. music and liking a lot of noise, I had high expectations for this album, but it just didn't deliver for me.
I know it's a style but I just do not care for limper, dissonant singing like this. Guitar riffs are cool though
I guess for it's era this was groundbreaking, but to me it sounds like the recordings of a bunch of amateur high-schoolers rocking out in a garage, which I guess is the point? The grunge scene that would come to be inspired by this offers better, and I don't like grunge either

Meh...
9/9/25. Found it a bit noisy and couldn't really catch on after two listens. Perhaps this one needs to grow on me and currently don't "get it." It was cool to learn about the Folk Implosion connection.

Nyttig bekjentskap. Skjønner at grungegenerasjonen ble inspirert av dette. Men klassisk eksempel på at pionerene sjelden har den beste kvaliteten. Litt tamp og kjedelig i lengden, og veldig svak vokal.

Not for me
This is what I'd call grunge for sure. Not stone temple pilots or Pearl Jam. It has its place, and I think I would have liked it more when I was younger. For some reason, I've never been able to connect with Dinosaur Jr. I can see the correlation to Nirvana. It just didn't click though.
No thank you. Just feels like this album brings in a cold storm front and makes it rain for days….and not in a good way. Just too heavy for me.

Man really struggled through this. Guitar tone was a real struggle, vocals were kinda low effort and energy. After one song I felt like I had heard it all. Not really punk, not really grunge, and not really for me
Proto alt-rock. Don’t really like this, but it isn’t bad bad as straight punk.
I get the importance of this band you can really hear where the influence on nirvana came from but that doesn’t mean I love it, or like it much 2/5
I had higher expectations seeing this came out in 1987 (so far my favorite decade), but it seems like noise. The cover of Just Like Heaven couldn't merit it an additional star. Now I'll listen to The Cure to get that out of my ears.

Some parts were better than others, but I think the industrial noise kind of spoke louder than the inoffensive songs.

This is not the same Dinosaur Jr. I heard in their atrocious noise rock album named Bug. I mean, You're Living All Over Me wasn't great, but they had nowhere near the same amount of noise rock. That fact alone made this album so much more palatable. I was able to appreciate Dino Jr.'s alt rock sound, somewhat. The lead singer's vocals are still the worst.
Older punk. Could sound better.
Dinosaur Jr is noise first, followed by singing . I’ve wanted to be a fan of these guys for years and it’s never come to full fruition. It’s not going to happen today either. This is down the lines of Sonic Youth and not as heavy as Helmet. Crispier than Nirvana but not as commercially made. There isn’t a lack of trying with these guy. It’s just too consistent of a sound from start to finish. Like one big long opus song of garage band noise. Choice cut: Raisans
1987. Kind of a knock off Black crows sounding band without much zest
This album was very sludge-y for me. The songs had no crispness for me. I am sure that was part of the point, but the sludge kinda drained the energy any of the songs. I was hoping for more, and I just didn't get it out of this. NEXT.
I really don't understand how people like this band. That said, I didn't mind "Poledo" and their Cure cover was OK.

Eh this is meh
At first I thought, “oh, this is what Nirvana would be like if they had no charisma”. But that does a disservice to Nirvana and also doesn’t explain the weirdness of this album. It starts off terribly with the first song - thought I was in for a very rough ride at that point. Mercifully there was less terrible white noise/screaming from there on in. Which allowed me to collect my thoughts on the lead singer: - effeminacy reminiscent of the pet shop boys but without the charm - a bit like when they let a fan come up on stage and sing a song, but they’re not any good - at times sounding like they were asked to sing this all with a gun to their head having only heard it a couple of times previous The different sounds throughout this album threw me too. It all started sounding more coherent in the last few tracks then there was the bizarre outtro on the last track. All in all, a bit strange and confused. As am I after listening to it.
I keep wondering when this band will wake up. They seem on the face of it a slightly heavy band but they juxtapose that with a weak and lifeless voice over. Its very strange. Its like getting Darth Vader and replacing his voice with Mr Bean. It would make no sense to what your watching. I imagine grundgy rock with this. Like say Foo fighters or Nirvana. A better lead for this band of pretty much anyone could elevate this to something decent I would think. Wasted potential! Sludgefest I actually enjoyed it felt a little Stone Roses esk. Mainly because there was large sections with no singing! Is it just a jam session it is so confusing to listen to!? In fact I didnt realise how much I see Mr Bean in this. Large sections of absent voice on most tracks. Mumble weakness. Whatever man.
Angsty grunge for teenagers stewing in their bedrooms. I guess fairly interesting that it was quite an early example but if you are looking for this sound in the late 80's just listen to The Cure who are actually good.
This album reminds me of a particular ex girlfriend. I understand why she liked it, but understanding why someone would like something is not the same as liking it yourself.

Noise can be invigorating or overwhelming - this is the latter. Exhausting, monotonous and unpleasant.
There's one Dinosaur Jr. song I like and it's not on this album. I'm open to liking more than one of their songs but I haven't heard any others that I like. This music is all about the guitar. I appreciate cool guitar work but I enjoy a little bit of subtlety and finesse. His approach oscillates between a sledge hammer and a chainsaw. Mega crunch distortion layered with vocals that remind me of a cross between Flaming Lips singer and Neil Young. The lazy passion-lacking vocals are sort of the antithesis to the raging guitars. It's an interesting juxtaposition. And can he turn the distortion down a little just for variety? Yes, Poledo starts with what sounds like a mildly effected acoustic guitar but he can't last more than 2 minutes before we interrupt this broadcast with pure full blast static. I think some musicians tried making music out of noise in the 90's. Turns out people mostly prefer music over noise. Just like Heaven is an interesting cover. I think I still like the original better and this is kind of a weird way to end the album. Overall this has potential and I want to like it but seems like a whole lot of "not work'n" to me.
OVERHYPED! I’ve seen this album show up in so many indie blogs stating it to be a the ultimate revelation of 80’s underground rock, alongside Sonic Youth, Husker Du and The Pixies. For me, I feel nothing. It’s sloppy, overdriven noise. The songs are nothing special. I think the kicker for me is when they cover The Cure’s Just Like Heaven. That is a perfect song, and yet they manage to make it sound completely unremarkable.

It had its moments, but the screaming, screeching guitars, and whining isn’t for me.
A bit too noisy, the moments where feedback weren't painstakingly loud were nice, but that was the minority of the time. Another stepping stone in rock history.
You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr left me a bit gutted. I was expecting something raw and energetic, but instead, I found the whole thing to be overwhelmingly noisy and chaotic. It's like the band decided to throw every guitar riff at you without much thought for balance, and I couldn’t help but feel it was all a bit much. There are a few redeeming bits, I’ll give 'em that. The album does have moments where the sheer energy and attitude come through, and some of the guitar work is undeniably impressive, flamboyant and wild, and you can tell they’re having a laugh with it. A couple of tracks manage to capture that raw, unfiltered spirit of rock, and for those moments, it feels like a proper blast from the past. But, blimey, the noise factor is off the charts. For me, the album feels like an endless barrage of feedback and distorted guitars that, rather than invigorate, just overwhelm. The production seems to favour volume over nuance, leaving little room for any sort of subtlety. The vocals, too, don’t do much to help. they're buried under the chaos, sounding more like an afterthought than a real feature. Honestly; the lack of structure and the relentless clamour made it hard to stay engaged. It’s as if the band thought more noise equals more rock, but for me, it just felt like a messy jumble that I couldn’t really sink my teeth into In the end, You're Living All Over Me is one of those records that, despite its occasional flashes of brilliance, just doesn’t sit well with me. The unrelenting noise and overall lack of finesse make it a frustrating listen. I reckon it might be a cult favourite for some, but I can’t help but rate it a disappointing 2.3/5 stars. I was really stoked walking into this one only to be thrown off by the shit mixing on it. I love Dino Jr that I've heard otherwise, but this one was not it unfortunately fam. Is there like a remaster or something? Does it sound better on vinyl (one of those types)? Good songwriting and performances. Sometimes J Mascis is too J and/or Mascis though.
Meh. All very bland. I changed headphones halfway through to see if a less analytical pair would add more excitement. It didn't. 2/5

Oh yay it’s these guys again. This is easily better than Bug, but the end of Tarpit, the butchering of Just Like Heaven, and the singer sounding like he's on opioids all combine to bring it down. Best song: Little Fury Things
Damn these vocals suck. The music, at times, was okay, but for the most part it was too noisy and didn’t seem cohesive. Not a big fan of this. Did I mention the vocal suck?

This album had some good stuff on it, but also felt kind of long, not really my favorite.
Not a fan of this band or this album. The vocals have all the energy and cadence of ordering a pizza The guitars drone lethargically over chord changes It’s like rock music as heard through a plastic cup. The production makes the whole thing muddy and soft and sound permanently far away. I just can’t get into Dinosaur Jr.
I will echo my review on the previous Dinosaur Jr. album I had and say that the vocals aren't great. I don't know if it's the point but they're whiny and out of tune. I will say that I enjoyed this one slightly more though. A little heavier and faster, but still not exactly the type of rock music I like. This is the first time I've said this whilst doing this challenge, but how the hell does this band have two albums on the list? If this band has two, there are a few heavy metal bands out there that I feel could and should have more inclusion and representation for not only making better music, but for being more popular and genre defining. Anyway. My favourite track is 'Poledo'. It starts off as a quiet acoustic guitar track and after about a minute and a half, it's like someone flicked a switch. The vocalist and the guitar are absolutely screaming so loudly which then turns to something quite sinister sounding. The last minute is very eerie. Not enough to save it I'm afraid, as with the previous album by this band, it gets a two.

This gave me more 2000s "trying to be a band" vibes than 1980s vibes. The lyrics are bland, the tune feels off, and it seems like the same song over, and over again. A lackluster album with a few highlights for my Christmas Eve. Favorite Song: "Just Like Heaven".

Like many of the super-duper-influential albums in this list, I much prefer the work that they inspired.
The second Dinosaur Jr. album to shoe up on this list. I hated Bug. This album is a lot easier to listen to (not that that is saying much). I didnt get the influence of Dinosaur Jr. after listening to that album. But after this one I do. The tones are much better here. The songs are about the same. And the vocals are what make this and all Dinosaur Jr. songs for that matter such a chore to listen to. But getting past that I understand why this band were so influential. Some of the instrumental breaks and guitar solos are great. And this album came out in 1987. It sounds so 90s to me. To me that right there shows its influence and how ahead of its time it was. I can hear little bits of a lot of 90s bands when I listen to this. Especially some early Foo Fighters.
Pretty safe to say this annoyed the fuck out of me this morning. I can see how of you're sloppy drunk and want to body slam someone this soundtrack could be beneficial, but ain't nobody got time for that today. Only giving this a 2 because if it's too loud, you're too old.
Like Bug, there are some interesting moments on this musically, but Just naw to j masticulitis voice!

Dinosaur Jr appear again in the list and again I............... don't really understand. I really really really feel like this band should tick all my boxes but, for whatever reason, it doesn't hit the spot for me. It's not *bad* but I'm equally not rushing to listen over and over again.

This started out alright but then went downhill. The first few songs really blended together, but in a somewhat pleasant way. Then it seemed to go off the rails. I was actually hopeful for the “Just Like Heaven” cover, but then the yelling happened and with the abrupt ending I just kind of noped out. Far from the worst thing, and I can see how it’s influential, but I’ll pass.

Apparently lo-fi just isn’t for me. I don’t like his voice and the muddy production values make everything sound the same. It bores me. The Cure cover is the best thing here and even it is not great (why does it end so abruptly)?

Better than Sebadoh, but too much noise and not enough music here for me, although I liked its loudness and rawness.
I’m being generous by giving this a 2. Honestly just got worse as it went it started with the most boring typical alt rock songs and by the end it was just the most horrendous guitar sounds. Even the cure cover was ugly as hell.

Kracked wasn't too bad. I'm not a huge fan of the vocals. I do like a lot of noise and distortion but some of this is getting to be a bit much for me. Interesting Cure cover on Just Like Heaven, stopped really abruptly. I'm probably at a 2 here.
Did not enjoy this album. Really don't like the vocals. Overall, I heard a sort of proto-Nirvana on this album. For me, this is 1 star. If I objectively listen to the guitar work, however, it bumps it up to 2 stars.

I tried to listen to it multiple times all the way through and just couldn’t. I feel like I can enjoy the album at a different time , because the general vibe is something I think I’d enjoy, and maybe a sunny afternoon walk wasn’t the place for it. or maybe I just truly don’t like it.

Oh nauseating dysphoria pain, with faux chirpy bits. yay! wow sure bring it on. I brought a backpack into which you can pour any left over grating unresolved putrid misery. Hmmm. Its not just the English who musically and politically seek to pick at old scabs and distort things so the suffering repeats. This gets a whole star upgrade for destroying Just Like Heaven (by the Cure?) so hatefully. You got marks for effort and application. Now put out your hand for a stamp. Confession. I skipped from the first to the last track. It seemed best for all concerned. Deux!
This had moments I thought were brilliant (especially the guitars) but the vocals were so weak and it got really annoying by the end

A few songs were pretty solid but it's largely not that great. Just noisy rock and "singing" into a mic whichever which way. Hardly as good as people are making it out to be and rivals some dudes playing with their friends on the weekend. Also gotta deduct for putting a cover on the album from The Cure. 4/10.

I get the sense it takes its self too seriously, can't remember what my feelings about the other Dino Jr album were (I feel they were more complimentary) but this was too fuzzed out for my liking

Punk influence has this record thrown off for me. Could see how/why people would enjoy it back in the 80s but misses the mark.
The super power of this band is to make other bands sounds so good. As I listened I kept thinking how great Pearl Jam and Nirvana were. After enduring a few songs that sounded like the neighbor's kids playing in their garage, I jumped to their most played song Just Like Heaven, a cover of the Cure's. It made me crave the original.
Oof, this was a tough one. There were many things that were good, but also many things that were quite bad. I thought you could hear some early seeds of late 90s or early 00s skate punk in there. But that good core was mostly disturbed - if not entirely destroyed - by overuse of distortion and bad mixing. Examples of this is 'Sludefest', 'Tarpit' around 3:20 where the guitar overpowers the song completely with its screeching, and 'In a Jar' where the open hat is so ear piercing it's ridiculous. If they would've toned some things down and mixed it better it could get a strong 3 perhaps, but now I feel like it's a deadshot 2. Also, the singing wasn't the best, and sometimes fell apart and was out of tune.
A pretty bland album. I liked some of the noisier tracks and enjoyed the guitar riffs. I didn't like the vocals though which I found nasal and whiny sometimes. It is very close to good but for some reason just stops shy of that and ends up being something I didn't really enjoy and hoped for it to end. I don't think the vocals are the only thing to blame but it just fails to stick the landing and becomes the 2. Was a fan of the "Just like Heaven" cover except the chanting background vocals which were mixed way to loud.

Just a whole bunch of meh for me. I can understand how this sound influenced some later artists, but it's just haphazard and really not my bag
I can see how this album (and sound) would pave the way for a lot of the 90s and 00s hard rock/grunge bands. But I'm happy those later bands came along, because I didn't particularly enjoy the sound on this record. Some of the riffs are energetic and forceful, but I do not like the singers voice at all. And I really feel like it takes away from what could otherwise be a much better album. Top tracks: SludgeFest, Tarpit
Way too monothematic for me. At first it reminded me of certain grunge bands, but in the end... meh...
J Mascis...more like...J Massacre...amiright? Unfortunately you have to wait until the final track to get the best track, and it's the Cure cover that just...ends. I have always like the ingredients that make up this band, but the final dish is not my flavor at all. It's like throwing pizza, tacos, burgers and sushi all into a bowl and saying bon appétit!
Fuzzed-out guitar interplay and nasally melodies abound, yet nothing memorable comes out of the distorted wash.

This was a hard listen. Not many songs clicked, and the lead singer’s voice was grating. Even the most accessible song which is good, the cover of “Just Like Heaven” isn’t as good as the OG. Just meh overall.

Nothing special here.. from an overrated band.
Mix an absolutely disgusting voice by the main singer together with incredibly boring riffs and some wild screams and guitar solos and we have Dinosaur Jr. I really don't like their music, and every album I listen to on this list just reminds me every reason I hate it. It's not as bad as some other incomprehensible records from the list, but it's definitely a mood-killer.
Talented musicians. This was definitely an influence on the grunge movement, but it didn't really do much for me. A lot of noise but not a lot of direction.

I had some clever things written here but I guess I didn't click save and they dissapeared. Was not a fan of this album, the distorted music and vocals didn't get me, and found me often skipping.

It was a fine album. As in "just fine". Music was great, but found the lyrics/vocals uninspiring.

For a few songs there, I was beginning to rethink my preconceptions of Dinosaur, Jr. Then, listening fatigue set in and I grew weary of the noise. The songwriting, which was driving my budding appreciation for the band, became less interesting, and still the noise. And then I got to "Poledo" and was beginning to wonder if this was dipping below a 3-star rating. The Cure cover was bringing me back but then they hit the chorus and I stopped listening. What a dumb thing to do to what was a perfectly competent cover. So, I went from reforming my idea of this band — which was that they were in it for the noise — to realizing I'm never going to like them. Oh well. Can't say I didn't try.
Not for me. This guys voice and whining about a girl who doesn’t like him is annoying. Some startling production like a quiet song with someone suddenly moaning at a high volume in the room. Other djr albums I bet I’d enjoy way more.
Just not very good. Guitars are tolerable at times, but it is ruined by the vocalist.
I didn't really like the lead singer's voice. There were some moments of brilliance from the album, but for the most part it was just kind of bland or uninteresting. The ending of the album was by far my favorite bit.

Cuz one album by Dinosaur Jr just wasn't enough, here we go again. I didn't hate this one as much as Bug, finding it maybe a bit less grating and unpleasant, but I also didn't find it very interesting either.
I was able to tolerate but did not enjoy this album. My most prominent feeling while listening was again “why?”
This probably says more about the state of my brain than it does about this album but this was all a ball of mush to me. I don't like it.
Is if me, or does it feel like it takes a lot of effort to get into J. Mascis's vocals?

Usually enjoy the output from this band but it feels like Mascis and Co. are stretching themselves thin here in terms of ideas, just feels oddly noodly and unfocused overall. Usually there's a strong lyrical and instrumental backbone that anchors the band's LPs, but with that missing here the whole experience just feels somewhat aimless and grasping.

Kinda boring tbh
Second time hearing this one. Still hasn't done anything for me. Which is odd, because this is a genre that I usually prefer. Maybe third listen will do it more justice for me. Standouts: None 2.5/5
Ooof... I did not like this. Normally I dig this kinda band but I can't stand noise rock. It just felt annoying to listen to. Not the worst thing I've heard on here, but tough to listen to.

Little fury things: it all kinda blends, would like to hear more separation I think Kracked: its fine, I think there are good ideas but im lost on the delivery Sludgefest: maybe its just poor recording quality? But I wish it lined up where it sounds like it should and I wish the singing and guitar were more separated. The lung: Raisans: again its fine. Not really doing it for me The sounds sound too much the same. Not enough variety for me. 2 stars. Better sounds quality, more rests, and more respecting and complimenting other instruments would make these really good for me.

grunge rock
The only song I'd ever heard by Dinosaur Jr. before today was Feel the Pain because it was featured in the game Rock Band 2. I remember thinking it wasn't great. This album cements that sentiment for me. Being so unfamiliar with their stuff this morning, I didn't know what to expect. What first struck me was the fact that it sounded like the whole album was recorded underwater. That, and the fact that the guitars were so distorted and muddy that they almost came across as an un-distinguishable wall of sound. The singer couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. This reminded me a fair bit of My Bloody Valentine, who were equally as terrible. My favourite song on the record was Just Like Heaven, which is a cover of the Cure. The original was much better. Overall, this whole album was garbage. I see grunge, and alternative rock influences, but this is just indie rock trash. I hope to never hear this again. No redeeming qualities. Favourite songs: Just Like Heaven, The Lung, Kracked, Tarpit Least favourite songs: ... the whole record. It is truly awful. 2/5

I love their sound, but the songs don't stick. J Macsis is a solid guitar player, but I wish the songwriting were more to my taste (in other words, it's not them. It's me).
Pretty sure i've heard this before, but I was always more of a Ray fan, in fact - I struggle to find much to love in the Dinosaur Jr catalogue these days

This is it? After all the encomiums and hype I've heard about Dinosaur Jr, I was greatly looking forward to this particular album. What a pity. Some wild guitar sounds aside, what exactly is so hip about this crap? Badly sung garage rock with noise and college FM pretensions, but nary a hint of craft or guile to be found. I don't doubt that YLAOM - and Dinosaur Jr - are an influential proposition. Sure, why not. I probably don't like the crap they've influenced either.

As on Bug, the vocals were quite irritating, but possibly contrary to Bug, I didn't care much for the songs and instrumentation on this either.
2.5 stars. I had high hopes, but another record that just makes me car sick. Extremely lofi with questionable amounts of musicianship. Maybe it’s a grower? I will probably never find out.

Listened to on 9/15/22 2.5/5 Favorite song: the lung Hmm I have mixed feelings…half of this album was good and the other half made me want to skip through it. The guitar - phenomenal, the drums - stellar, the lyrics - good (I think), but the random ass noises and yelling really got on my nerves

I really wanted this to be better than what it was. Lollapalooza regulars, I thought I’d have more nostalgia/love. 2.5. Dropping to 2 for lack of interest.
I never really could get into the sludgy stuff. This is one of those albums I've tried to get to love through repeated listening but it just doesn't do it for me. 2.5/5 stars

The best thing about this album is that it's relatively short. I can't stand J Mascis' whiny voice and I hate the muddled production. Some of the guitar playing is pretty good, but overall this is a no for me. 2 stars.

p564. 1987. 2 stars. Prototype grunge. Nirvana meets Black Sabbath but without the songs or talent. The vocalist can't sing, and they do enjoy their feedback and squealing guitars, so its a bit harsh on the ears. There is also an unhealthy degree of weirdness (Poledo) and hard rock wankage. On the plus side, they do keep it short. Perfectly acceptable of its type, and probably on the list because of its influence rather than its quality, but points deducted for wankage and the vocals. Wouldn't listen to it again.

I can appreciate an album that is trying to stir up some emotion, but I just did not enjoy it.
Nah. Too angry. Too chaotic. Not interesting enough. There were a couple of nice shreds and riffs, but it wasn't nearly enough. And they completely butchered Just Like Heaven. As far as covers go, that was absolutely horrible.
I quite liked the raw, grunge feel to it but nothing really stood out.

Not sure if I'm ever in the mood for noisy distorted guitars played badly with over-use of feedback and a terrible voice accompaniment. There is also a distinct absence of keyboards to lighten the load. Sounded like someone tried to pull the plug in the middle of Raisans and then again in Poledo. Might have been better if they hadn't plugged in at all. What a disaster!
This flip flops between painfully dull (in that particularly male 90s way) and actually sonically painful. Oof ooof ouch please don't shout! Stop abusing your instruments! What did they do to you :( They ended up stopping doing their own crap music and started playing The Cure at the end. I'm not the biggest Cure person in the world, but it really made me appreciate them even more because they don't scream in the middle of their bloody songs for no fucking reason other than to fuck me off. 1 star

The first 5 seconds of the first song I already knew that I wasn't going to enjoy this album. Skipped around and could confirm. Too grungy, raspy, tired voice type shit.
Jag har något soloalbum med J Masic som jag tycker är ganska bra. Det här däremot är inget vidare. Tråkrock och amerkanskcollagerocksång som är rejält irriterande. Finns visa punkiga och vissa skrammelindievibbar som låter okej (the lung). Men då krävs det att man har en rejäl ficklampa och letar noga. När ien tvåa men det täcker inte.
Was going to be a two, but the cure cover dragged it down.
I don't know if its the mixing or what they did with the instruments but this mostly hurt my ears. It was hard to focus enough to find something I like about the album when all I wanted was to remove my headphones or change the song. Changing the song didn't help since they all were like that. A total miss for me.

I'm aware of the existence of Dinosaur Jr - but I only have 1 song liked by them on Spotify ("Feel The Pain" from 1994). I think I first got into this song when playing the Rock Band video game with my kids and really liked it. Apparently this album is much earlier than that. I listened 3 times and none of this seemed memorable to me. I read the lyrics and none of it really grabbed me. I wanted to like this more, but it just didn't click. I can see how this probably influenced others that I like (such as Nirvana) and how they were influenced by artists I like (such as Neil Young) but the difference is those others create better and more memorable songs.
