Reviews (page 8 of 16)

It's Rumours. What do you want from me?!

Oh my fucking god, FINALLY! I have been waiting for this album to show up for almost 3 years now!! God Tier album. Absolutely flawless from end to end. It is the font from which all dad rock has sprung. Everything about this album is perfect. The music and lyrics paired with all the interpersonal band dramas behind the scenes that bubbled up and boiled over into it all. What happened during the recording of this album is the very essence of its greatness. It's the stuff of rock 'n' roll legend now, but it's how things got done back then with so many drugs, free love, and iconoclastic personalities crammed in one studio in a creative pressure cooker. Reading about the band during the recording of this album is almost more entertaining than the album itself at times! It's incredible that this group was able to get this done at all. And it is the crown jewel of all classic rock, in my opinion. It is the one record that no record collection can possibly be complete without. Every single song is awesome. Even when it slows down for the ballad, if you think ballads are boring, Christine McVie's vocals will make you cry. Stevie is everything to me though. Her vocals are bewitching and emotive on an untouchable level that technical proficiency can't compete with. The flavour in her voice gives this album its ultimate shine. Top marks and any one who dares disagree is a fucking moron who needs to have their ears cleaned out. A true magnum opus for the band, for the 70's, and for all of rock 'n' roll as a genre. This is so much greater than the sum total of its parts; it's a masterpiece for this epoch of our pop culture collective. Unreal.

cool album

Unreal

Well…. This is the most 70s album of the 70s. It’s a no skip. It’s 5/5. One of the best records ever made. O (and Bryn)- if you don’t know the history look it up but let’s leave it at love hurts. And “don’t shit where you eat”. And the song that DIDNT make the original record may be one of their best- Silver Springs. If you wanna see a human being laser cut directly through another person watch the live 97 version of Silver Springs where Stevie stares a hole directly through Lindsay’s heart while she sings “I follow you down to the sound of the voice that haunts you, you’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you…”. And that DIDNT MAKE THE ALBUM.!!! The Chain- breakups suck. I love you, this band is great, but also fuck off- love Lindsay You Make Loving Fun…. I’m gonna write a song about how my new lover/boyfriend is so much better than you and then make you record it over and over and over while I sing it- Fuck You John! - Love Christine Go Your Own Way- Stevie, you’re a whore and I hate you so I wrote a hit song that you can enjoy harmonizing to for the rest of your life, Love, Lindsay And as always- Mick, don’t do too many drugs and stop trying to have sex with every woman in the room- including Both John and Lindsay’s recent love interests…. It’s like a soap opera. Imagine if this was in the era of reality TV and they were followed around with cameras while recording this….. whew. Anyway: 5/5 …. Listenable almost at any time. Best Song: Gold Dust Woman Worst Song: impossible but Songbird perhaps

Incredible album, stacked with bangers, great listen from front to back. Not much to say about "Rumours" that hasn't already been said, it's a masterpiece.

I suppose you should skip this review if you've stumbled upon it because I am biased as hell. This is my favorite album of all time. Don't even need to listen to it to rate it, but I will never miss an opportunity to do so. There is not a single bad song on here. I will pick 5 for my paylist (Dreams, Never Going Back Again, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, and Gold Dust Woman, if you're curious), but the whole thing is already in the permanent rotation. Cutting Silver Springs off the original release was a huge mistake, but I am glad we have it nonetheless. Go watch a video of Stevie Nicks staring a hole into Lindsey Buckingham while singing it live. It's worth it, I promise.

it is good

A timeless and perfect record

Truly the greatest white people music album of all time. The duo of Dreams and Go Your Own Way are perfect, the chain has one of the best outro solos of all time, yet none of these are my favorite song. You Make Loving Fun is such a groovy, yet beautifully sung song by Christine McVie. I love this album so much

I haven’t listened to this album in a while and forgot that it is amazing all the way through. The vocal harmonies, the guitar playing, and the songs portraying the state the band was in at this time. It’s awesome through and through

I heard this on vinyl when I was 17. Loved it then. Love it now. Nothing has changed, nothing needs to change. The chain was the song that my stoned brain grabbed on to and felt so deeply.

One of the best albums ever

One of my favorite albums,?I’ve listened to this hundreds of times, probably the best from this variation of the band, I was even fortunate enough to catch the tour for it at Madison Square Garden. I love it.

Yes!!!!! Another college fav! Every song. Magic. THIS album truly deserves to be on this list.

I definitely didn’t mind the drive to work with nasty traffic while blasting this one. Haters are idiots: some feel it’s played out because it’s SO popular (especially after Bill Clinton claimed “Don’t Stop” as his campaign song) but shit, it’s sold 40 million albums for a damn good reason. It’s a near masterpiece IMO. This version of Fleetwood Mac reminds me a little bit of the Beatles: 3 prolific songwriters, all very different in style, but still able to produce a cohesive album. And like most of my most beloved albums, what I consider the best tracks often can change on what day you ask me. Here, we get at least one stone cold classic cut from each of them, varying from the caustic and cutting back and forth between Lindsey and Stevie as they pour their hearts out about their breakup, coupled with more soothing tracks from Christie (her “You Make Loving Fun” may be my personal favorite with Stevie’s “Dreams” a close second). Christie can be mean too when she wants to be: Imagine writing a song about your current affair and having your husband play (amazing) bass on it? Crazy shit when you think about it. In my opinion, the ladies win on this album, providing some of the most iconic tracks of all time. Lindsey deserves credit though for providing amazing production touches on ALL the songs, even the ones from Stevie calling out his personal bullshit from their fractured relationship. Also, his guitar work is under appreciated; he’s easily one of the best guitarists in the world and shows why several times here. With all of the cocaine use and in-band cheating going on it’s not only amazing they were able to create such a classic, but continue on as a band. Rumours is drenched in 70s, SoCal sunshine vibes that still resonates and captured a mood and zeitgeist… I never get tired of this one 🥰

So good!

I don't even need to listen to it again because I know it's a five and one of the best albums of all time. Listening now though, it really is that good. Stevie, Lyndsay and Christine are all incredible songwriters with really distinct styles and signatures, you can always tell who wrote what and they're all pitch perfect. Christine gets overshadowed a bit, but she's made incredible, gorgeous love songs. Dreams, the Chain and Go your own way are best song of all time contenders, but I think You make loving fun is also an absolutely perfect song. Lyndsay's guitar is crazy throughout, the solos are unbelievable. So good, somehow even better than I remember. Honourable mention to Silver Springs, we were robbed. 5.

Certified no skipper. Every song is killer

Hating this album is not a personality trait.

very nice album, nice intergration of blues with rock and pop music. i will return to this album some times.

Minus the fact that I heard this too many times as a child growing up, it’s still a great album.

An iconic album that topped the charts for months. Liked the gentle soothing sounds featured throughout together with the varied vocals of Stevie Nicks, Christine Mcvie and Lyndsey Buckingham. Although I did enjoy it I prefer Tango in the night but that's down to personal preference. This is a giant of an album and worthy of its place on here.

ЛЮБОВЬ МОЯ. Всё никак не докачу до того, чтобы узнать историю этого альбома, но ничто не отменит того факта, что это realno krutoi альбом.

Rumours isn’t my personal favorite FM album, albeit that’s likely skewed due to the sheer amount of air play it receives, but I do love how seamless they blend their rock style with pop here. It’s the most commercialized they’ll get without fully losing their rock sound. That being said, silver springs only being on the deluxe and only originally being released as a B side single back then is an actual war crime. Go watch that shit live.

This was the first Cd that I ever got, and I did not listen to it that much. This album is a 5 for the story alone yeah maybe it is overrated and overplayed but it shaped everything to come for bands like this. The dual woman and man singers the cheating. I cant say more I like this record its not my favorite but I can not deny the influence.

Born out of the angst and pain of separation, deceit and divorce, this 11th Album of Fleetwood Mac is a tour de force. If any album is to be 5 stars, it's this one

Stone cold classic.

Well. Yeah. Very hard to find any faults with this. Could do with one more song, too good to end in less than 40 minutes. 98/100

There's a reason why it typically rated one if the best albums of all time.

None more 70s

Obviously this is five stars. I’m not happy about it and like to pretend I’m not a Fleetwood Mac fan but I also didn't build my entire personality around contrarianism.

Quite a mother

This is another easy 5, not much that can be said about it that hasn't been said thousands of times over. I do sometimes prefer the self titled album before this one, but both are top tier. Some of the best pop/rock songwriting ever, and the drama between the group members really adds to the entertainment value. Some really incredible guitar playing too, Lyndsey Buckingham is an incredible musician. One thing I would recommend is to give the deluxe version a listen, because they corrected their error in leaving Silver Springs off the original release. It's one of the best songs on the album, and really ties the whole thing together nicely. It should have been the closing track, hands down. If the run time was a concern, they should have dropped Oh Daddy instead, that song adds nothing!

★★★★★★ With Silver Springs

kind of too goodnot to give 5

Eines der wenigen Alben in dieser Liste (bis jetzt), die ich nicht anhöre. Sondern dem ich gleich die volle Punktzahl vergeben kann.

One of my favourite albums!

Listened many times. Classic & iconic.

Seems like every song on this could have been a single. Might get a bit of hate for being so overplayed but still a classic 5*

The best FM album. It's hard to believe that the band was able to produce something so good despite all the problems they had in their interpersonal relationships behind the scenes.

Rounding up from 4.5. Deluxe version has the better finale track for sure. Songbird is the one true dud in here

Classic, all-time album. Amazing songs. Really good. Liked it a lot

Wow! Where to start? Rolling Stone writer Jordan Runtaugh wrote of it, “the inner turmoil surfaced in brutally honest lyrics, transforming the album into a tantalizing he-said-she-said romantic confessional.” I can’t add anything more to it! If you don’t know the history, get a laced glass of Chardonnay and have a go at this one. It’s worth it!

Classic pop perfection. There are so many great songs on this album it is basically a best of compilation. Hard not to just jam out to this one. I did listen to this while driving the Cascade Mountains of Oregon. :)

Front to back bangers!

Wayne Chooney back in his United days type album

BOM DEMAIS!!!!! Eu realmente não sabia que precisava ouvir Fleetwood Mac para caminhar na rua nossa o grau que dá olhar o centro com essa trilha sonora é impecável!

I love Fleetwood Mac! Rumours is one of my favourite albums—it's basically one banger after another with no skips at all. I listen to it regularly, just as I do to some of their other stuff like Tusk or Tango in the Night. Easy five stars.

Yes. I mean... just yes. Small infusion of personal anecdote as to the "why": Rumours must have been one of the first CDs in my parents' music collection and it's, this!, soft rock has taught me very early that good music doesn't give a shit about genres. Beautiful album. 20 stars.

One of the best albums ever. 🤩

5/5 dreamssss

Perfection.

Classic. Banger. After banger. After banger.

i love u stevie nicks

I like Fleetwood Mac and I've listened to this album before. It is atmospheric, acoustic, great vocals. Every song is good, different from each other but overall coherent album. Song "Oh Daddy" is the one that I cannot remember, but I like it a lot!

Ideal album, would give 100 points out of 5 if possible

In my opinion; one of the best albums to ever exist.

One of the best albums ever. A must listen

Listening to this album was like visiting a trusted friend not seen in some time.

Uhm, any album that has an entire Glee episode dedicated to it is an immediate 5. On a serious note, this album is timeless, easy listening. So excited to have this as my Friday album and listen to it all weekend long.

Top5 album, not a single song on this album I don't like.

Great album! The songs are varied, but still form a cohesive whole where I barely notice the transitions. No songs feel weak. The instrumentation is there and hits hard when it needs to, but doesn't overwhelm the soundscape either.

This is a classic no matter how you slice it. Sure this soft pop rock isn't my cup of tea, but this is hit after well produced hit

I mean it’s one of the highest ranking albums of all times for a reason.

The vibes are off the fucking charts on this album. 4.7 stars

Sound City classic start to finish!!

*chef’s kiss*

Did we expect anything else

😌👂🏼👍

Easiest five stars. So versatile, entertaining, beautiful, capturing. The album just makes me happy. Masterpiece.

Stevie is my gold dust queen!

Favorite songs: Dreams, The Chain, Gold Dust Woman.

Impecable grabación. Sonido perfecto. Canciones escuchadas mil veces. Gran disco (en directo pierde muchísimo).

Forgot how good this is.

It's "Rumours", I can't say much about this album that hasn't been said. It's one of the best selling records in history and it deserves it.

I doubt we'll get too many albums in this collection like this, as I think I've heard more songs from this album on the radio than any other album (and I don't think I've ever listened to the album itself, at least as an album); the only ones I wasn't familiar with was "Songbirds", "I Don't Want to Know", and "Oh Daddy". It's almost like a best-of album, except it's clearly not, and it works as an album. I know there's a lot of arguments on both sides for which incarnation of Fleetwood Mac is the best, but it's hard to ignore at the longevity and success of this album's version of the band, and even if the music isn't particularly novel or ambitious, I can totally see why this sits towards the top of best-album-of-all-time rankings. I'm actually kind of glad that I still remain ignorant of most of the drama and intrigue and at-times despicable behavior of some of the band members, although I'm guessing that we couldn't have had Spinal Tap and so many other epic band fails without their legacy. Regardless, I *am* intrigued to listen to the band's early years, given all the references to their "Peter Green" years.

I was 13 when this album came out and I checked it out from the public library. I liked it well enough to listen to it a few times and then never listened to it again until today (05.14.2024). If Fleetwood Mac came on the radio, sometimes I listened, sometimes not. Whatever. But when I looked at the track listing today, I was blown away by how many great songs are on this album. Nearly every album has a few weaker tracks: here there's Oh Daddy and that's about it. Impressively fun pop.

one of the first albums I ever had. Got it for my 8th birthday. Still an utter classic

5 - I don't think I can fault this album, even though it's been so overplayed. I still remember the first time I heard the chain.

So gosh darn good, it might somehow be underrated. I think the front 8 tracks might be the most consistent run of songs in any album ever. Fave Tracks: basically all of them but lately I’m really into You Make Loving Fun 5/5

I've been looking forward to this gem and the day is finally here! it's an insane album honestly – the shade, the sass, the upbeat melodies. the best break-up album ever, it's so fun, just draws you back in again and again. oh, also, Silver Springs definitely should've been on the original tracklist.

Just phenomenal, from front to back. No doubt this album rocked the world back when it was released, and is still holding up so well today. Timeless music. Easy 5.

Don't know how to feel about this one. Been waiting on it for so long that any expectations I may have had were never going to be met. Can't help but feel it's turned into that one record everyone who owns a Crossley suitcase has to have in their collection. Although NY's Harvest is on that list too and I fkn love that album. Cliches are cliches for a reason after all. Five stars for Dreams but Never Going Back Again is the actual highlight, incredible guitar playing.

CD bm Bbc That was typed out by my arm or the charging cable or something when I paused the video I’m watching. I’m keeping it because I think it’s funny. When I was in Sixth Form, a friend and I decided it was the best idea in the world to record a podcast together. I’m a white guy, it made sense at the time. The idea of the podcast was that my friend and I would drink together and discuss pieces of art that we both liked. We had plans to do everything; books, episodes of TV shows, films. But we were both music guys first and foremost, and so for our first episode, we did an analysis of an album that we both loved. We only recorded the one episode, which was fortunate because he ended up being a massive piece of shit, but also because he was fucking awful at analysing art. While I would introduce, I think, pretty interesting topics of conversation regarding Rumours, he would just quote lyrics and expect that to move the conversation further. And he would often get the lyrics wrong as well. None of this has ruined my appreciation for Rumours. I still think it’s a perfect piece of art, if Songs In The Key Of Life is the Anna Karenina of albums, Rumours is the Pride and Prejudice, a more accessible, more relatable, yet no less perfect work. One of my favourite bits of recorded music is the first bit of the solo to Go Your Own Way, how it cuts through the backing just gets to me every time.

This album is a masterpiece; one of the greatest of all time. The perfect balance of catchy rock n roll jams and vulnerability during a tumultuous time in the band's history. There are about 9 songs on this record that could be this or any other bands biggest hit, and they had all on one album. Of course there's hits like "Go Your Own Way" and "Dreams" which are all-timers for a reason, but songs like "You Make Loving Fun" and "Never Going Back Again" (which WILL make me cry just in the intro alone) are also beautiful pieces of music that carry so much weight and meaning. I could go on and on about this album - it's perfect. 10/10

One of my favorite albums of all time. Know this in and out. The chain is my favorite of the whole album

GOATed fr fr. Even with an annoying dud like Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow this thing is still somehow perfect and timeless and absolutely essential. Deserving of all the attention praise and the lofty place it holds in the history of rock/pop music.

Perfect album. The weakest links are still legendary songs. Fleetwood at their absolute pinnacle. Iconic for a reason.

If I could give this album six stars I would

Just a nice time listening to this one. I put this on in the office as I often do with each day's album and for once I didn't feel the need to desperately ride the volume control to avoid the glares.

A great variety of quality songs

Excellent music. Love it

10/10. Every song goes to the 5⭐️ list (if it wasn’t already on it). Very well could be my favorite album of all time.

Dreams, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, etc.

Songs 2-5 are all absolute classics. What a side.

My aunt got trampled by the crowd when she went with my Dad to see Fleetwood Mac at a sold-out show in ’77, literally breaking her arm just to see this band at their absolute peak. Now, I play her copy of this album religiously once a month, and hold it with the same reverence I’d hold any family heirloom. This is simply one of the greatest albums ever made. It’s one of those records where it’s so good, it’s not even fair to put it in a personal top 10, because yeah, everyone with ears adores this record, unless they’re purposefully being a contrarian. It’s the definition of “this sounds like a greatest hits album” because every song is just so deeply integrated into pop culture by now. There are no weak songs; my least favorite song, “Second Hand News,” would be a high-water mark for any other band, and only pales in comparison to the rest of the record it opens, because on its own, I adore it. I even go to bat for the McVie songs, because “Oh Daddy” and “You Make Loving Fun” are maybe my favorite songs here. It’s femme and witchy and sparkly thanks to Nicks, it’s reflective and somber and sultry thanks to McVie, and it’s bitchy and biting and masculine thanks to Buckingham. It’s rocking, it’s heavy, it’s pop, it’s folksy, it’s jazzy, it’s got a bit of everything for everyone. And even after decades of listening to it, today I still was hearing new elements I never noticed, which is the sign of a record that transcends criticism, in my opinion. This record is a cultural touchstone, so important to modern life that it’s now hard to see a world where it doesn’t exist. Flawless flawless flawless!!

clearly 5 stars

Huge album in 1977 Every song is great

Very biased since this is a favorite album. No skips and every song is legendary. One the best pieces of media in 1977 and possibly ever. Take your silver spoon and dig your grave.

Dreams, The Chain, Don't Stop. All iconic hits!

Dreamy, lovely, excellent music and filled with hits. What more do you want?

Yes yes. This is a good album. Don't we all know it.

Ja:odličan je album. Zlatni standard pop rocka Vojko : mlikota je to

Been looking forward to this one crossing my plate. The artists who are able to be kinda genre-fluid I'm finding are the most fun and getting higher ratings from me. I listened to this one like 5 times. Rock. Folk. Melodies. Harmonies. Pop. You'll know!

Their best album, for me, when this unique blend really produced something very special. I've always thought that Fleetwood Mac shouldn't have worked; they could have been an absolute cheese-fest, musically, with the jolly, folksy elements. I don't know whether Stevie Nicks is an actual witch who weaved magic around this album, but I think she has a lot to do with the fact that it became a thing of wonder. Her own songs will always be my favourites; I adore her voice and her searing lyrics. But it's so good as a whole. People will listen to it forever, and reflect on life and love and heartbreak.

I don’t need to listen to this again to give it five stars but I’m really glad I have an excuse to. It’s brilliant.

I’ve loved every second of this album since I first heard it nearly 40 years ago. Never gets old and nor do I.

Perfect pending band!

If you deny the greatness of this album, you’re probably the kind of person who adds an inch when giving your height.

Yeah this is inifintely better than the debut. Loved it

Rumours is a classic

oh. I can't believe it but this might be my first time listening through this album of perfect pop rock. I've heard all of the songs before, but I'm still shocked at how great this is - it really doesn't get much better. It goes through so many different changes of mood, but it all fits. If you love the sound of the seventies, this is it. I wish I had more time to gush, but sadly must move on to the next album.

This is an all time rock classic. Stevie’s voice and Lindsay’s guitar riffs are legendary.

Love Fleetwood Mac, particularly Stevie Nicks, don’t really know why but this was an epic album so a rare 5*

Always amazing!

My parents loved this album, I love this album, and now my son does, too. 5/5

Not much to say about this that hasn't already been said. It's one of the best albums of all time. Fav songs: The Chain, Dreams, Go Your Own Way

Where to even begin with this album, I mean it is an obvious 5 star album without a single doubt. I think John Mulaney has the best quote about this album, "an album written by and for people cheating on each other", which just sums it up pretty perfectly. There is so much more depth to this album than that quote of course, you could write a thesis on this album. Just a fantastic listen every single time with just some of the most legendary songs of all time on it. It deserves the love it gets and the hate it gets is just contrarians who hate on anything popular. Fantastic all time great!

I would never call myself a fan, but it’s hard to deny how good this album is

Oh you already know. Unreal album. Possibly their best, though I have a soft spot for self titled as well.

Words cannot describe how good this album is.

This is truly awesome

To say it's a classic is an understatement. It's a great-sounding collection of great songs played by a band at the top of its game, even if their personal lives were absolute disasters. Highlights are Second Hand News, Go Your Own Way, Dreams, and The Chain, but truly, they're all great!

So sweet listening to this. I only knew the more popular songs but really enjoyed all of the album.

That is a good one

A Classic!

Yeah, there is no question about the rating of this album. The musicianship and energy and just damned enjoyable, memorable songs pour forth from it.

Such a good album

Is this the one with the TikTok cranberry skate guy song on it?

Fleetwood Mac is my mom’s favorite band, and my little sister’s name is Stevie; this album’s so in my bones that they’d probably break if I rated it less than a 5.

Oma arkkivihollinen tämä albumi.. Todella hankala päästä mood arvostaa lickkejä tässä.. En pidä miten yrittää heiluttaa ihmisiä.. Älkää alistuko heilutukseen mutta antakaa vahvoina tähdet...

only thing wrong with this album is how short it is - 10/10

All killer, no filler. Favs: Dreams, Go Your Own Way, I Don't Want To Know; but honestly all of them. Also, how beautiful is Songbird!!!

There’s a reason this album is one of the most recognized EVER. epicness!! Still blows me away that it’s their 11th studio album too. My most played vinyl record for sure. Listen again: yes Purchase for my collection: own it Favourite Song: all of them!

Loved every second. Listened at least 5 times

Not much to say that hasn't already been said by all these other positive reviews. I did read that this is the highest rated album in this list, which I'm not sure I agree with, but there's no doubt that this is a 5 star album. Hell, it's 2024 and this recently popped back into the Billboard Top 200 - nearly 50 years after it was released!

one of my favourite albums of all time godbless xxx

A+. Amazing listening back to an album that manages to keep giving after decades

This is a really good album. A must have.

Very good album, one of the best ever in my opinion. I have heard it a million times and I own it. Pretty much non stop hits.

Everyone knows this album. Everyone is born knowing this album. Half the songs on this are some of the most well-known hits ever. It's incredible. Easiest 5/5 in the world.

Brilliant album.

Classic, cohesive and fun

10/10 top album

Easy 5 stars. One of the best albums ever produced. I can’t pick a favourite song because there are so many. Loved to listen to this one again after a long time.

This is a perfect album, simple as that.

This album has been in my collection for many years. It's excellent.

It is a great album, solid from start to finish

back to back home run albums. Yeah...it's been played out over the years, but putting that aside, it's still one of the best albums ever made.

A truly iconic album. And I don’t even like Stevie Nicks.

One of the all-time greatest records.

Love this record

Always loved this one. Who doesn’t??

Liked Songs Second Hand News Dreams Never Going Back Again Don't Stop Go Your Own Way The Chain You Make Loving Fun I Don't Want to Know Gold Dust Woman

High 9 it’s amazing and a classic for a reason

Baita cdzao, justifica o hype recente quando foi redescoberto, vários fados

Classic. I have it on vinyl.

Cool album cool backstory

Fucking goaaaated omg

A true perfect album.

Yeah, it's totally cliché, but this is legitimately a top 10 album of all time. Everything about it is fantastic - the vocals, the harmonies, the guitar playing, the songwriting. There's a reason it has sold over 20M copies.

One the best of all time

There has never been a more perfect album ever.

its such a breath of fresh air

Very few unfamiliar pieces in this album of hits. The few that were new(ish) to me were slower ballad songs showcasing her amazing voice

There's not much to be said about this great album. Pop rock at its peak with great songwriting, catchy melodies, harmonies, enough diversity of sounds, but a very cohesive and concise album that achieves exactly what they set out to achieve. Essentially perfection

One of the greatest ever surely

Reminds me of my childhood, but a great deal more poignant knowing the tumultuous recording conditions, and greater understanding of the themes and pain. Musically one of my favourite albums.

Fleetwood on top of their game. Can't think of a reason this isn't a 5 star album.

This one is such a strong album. Almost feels pointless to write in detail why. Just listen to it. Instruments, vocals, lyrics, structure. It's all there.

I listened to this for my first time maybe like 3 years ago. This album goes everywhere and does it well. If someone had told me this is a greatest hits album I would have believed it. I'm a big fan of Never Going Back Again. The Chain obviously, that bass at 3:05 and where the song goes after that, so hard. I managed to avoid most of the hype and I had no context. This is to say, I believe this is some great music. The arrangements are so good, keeping you engaged and keeping things interesting.

No need for any kind of lengthy review on this one, it fuckin' KICKS. Enough said. 🤘

One of the best albums of the 70s, not a weak track on the record. All the separate members at the height of their powers combining to make an album greater than it's individual parts. In a vacuum you could just raise this up as a Fleetwood Mac Greatest Hits album. All the more amazing is how this album was even recorded at all. With all of the interpersonal strife, relationships merging, intertwining, and imploding; it is a miracle that anything was recorded. The massive amounts of Cocaine could not have made it an easier environment either. But through all of the strife and tears, fornication and fighting, Rumours emerged as a rare work of art that continues to be held up as a benchmark for other artists and a watershed moment for the group and music in general of that era.

Excellent album with banger after banger. Lyrically I appreciate that the songs rarely say the word love, even though that’s the theme of the album. Multiple lead singers really makes the whole thing feel refreshing

A Classic

Classic.

I was sad when it ended and that is not true at all for me with most albums on here. Knew and like some of these songs already but this was my first time listening to Rumors in its entirety. It is great to see something that obviously had so much care put into it.

One of the best that they put out

An absolutely classic, I never tire of listening to Fleetwood Mac, the Buckingham/Nicks/Mcvie/Mcvie/Fleetwood era, actually though this is my 3rd favourite behind tango in the night and mirage but it's still a joy to listen to - 5 stars !

Of course.

one of the best albums of all time

Bought it the first week it was out based on the previous album. Great album from beginning to end.

A classic that never gets old.

Such a great album. I've never really listened to a whole Fleetwood Mac album before now, but I've heard almost all of these songs at one time or another, and they all stand the test of time. Listening to the album was a delight, and I am upset with myself that it took until I was 40 to sit down and listen to it throughout.

Love this album. You can do anything while listening to it: clean, fight, fuck, or walk it out. Best tracks: The Chain and Gold Dust Woman.

This album is in my top 20 of all time. Classic!

This was one that took me a while to "get" so to speak. But you can hear the sexual tension between the two leads and how it shaped this masterful album. Fantastic from end to end. 9.6/10

A primeira impressão já foi boa.

I have loved this album for so long

Classic!

The second best-rated album, the Second album I got. It's a solid and uplifting album throughout. An essential listen for those who are interested in discovering historically iconic music.

Great album before listening. It will be nice to listen to it from start to finish. Really want the vinyl of this. Still great. Love it

10/10 Perfect even with the dangling lavatory chains.

Why do I ever listen to anything other than this album? It's so good. I always forget.

Did not listen. However am well familiar with it, it's 5 stars

Perfect pop from a great band who was derived from an even greater 3 guitar blues band

Ok, so, i've saw this album soo many times in different things and places, never in my life listed to it until now, and i'm actually very suprised about this. I nearly knew every song here! It's just full of hits for me, while i was listening to it i danced and even sang some of the songs that were here, that made me love it. Without a doubt i can say this is one of the greatest albums of that decade and even of history. I'm not related yo this type of music, that's why i actually didn't knew how many stars put it, but less than 5 stars was fair.

Didn't really recognize any of these song titles, but knew nearly every song. Knew "Don't Stop" and didn't even realize it was Fleetwood Mac. Great all around album, varying styles, multiple singers.

If you don’t rate this one a 5 stars you’re wrong. It’s one of the best selling albums of all time for a reason.

When people 'complain' about the music of the 70s only being disco, this album, along with Boston and Foreigner, are the albums that I bring up to let everyone know that there is a great deal of non disco-based music that cam out in the late 70s.

This sounds like cocaine and champagne with lots of fuck yous. I adore this album & love that Silver Springs was added on the extended version. That song is witchcraft sung by the witchiest woman in rock. Time cast a spell on all of us. Phenomenal album.

A great album from beginning to end.

One of my favorite albums of all time.

One of my favorites!

Dope album, one of my faves

Unreal that this isn't a greatest hits album. It was their 11th studio album too! Crazy. 7 of the 11 are certified bangers, the other 4 are good too (just slower). An easy 5. Gotta be one of the best albums ever.

You don’t get much more perfect than Rumors. If there’s any LP that’s stood the test of time, it’s this one. From the masterful guitar in Never Going Back Again to the foot-stomping joy of Don’t Stop; from the beauty of Songbird to the rich harmonic outro of The Chain, Fleetwood Mac are a true musical blessing to the world.

Amazing album. Was on heavy rotation in my youth. In my personal top ten rock albums of all time.

Perso j’aime beaucoup “Never going back again” et “I don’t want to know”.

One of the top albums of the last century. Everything about these songs is defining.

❤️

Such a cool, relaxing, symphony. 5/5

It's astounding something so great can come from so much drama and dysfunction. A perfect album from beginning to end.

My first album (in first grade) and I can still listen to it in its entirety. Pretty much perfect.

Look, it's a five. It was always going to be a five. Damn this album is just so good.

Players only love you when they’re playin

Simply perfect

Dysfunctional people often make incredible music. Great album. I don't care for all of the softer songs, but nothing to complain about.

Discazo

The greatest album of all time

Solido do começo ao fim. Um dos albuns mais dançantes que ja tive a honra de ouvir

A good classic. Lots of uplifting vibe.

There is a reason this album is considered by many as one of the best of all time. The harmonies are glorious, melodies infectious, lyrics meaningful. Every song is a masterpiece. Christine McVie sings two of the only songs on the entire album that aren’t on radio repeat and those are two of the most beautiful melodies on a nearly perfect album!

Such an iconic album. Definitely on the top shelf. 5/5

stevie nix literally crushes this album from start to finish. will listen to the entire thing now

I absolutely love EVERY single song on this album -- such an influential sound both in 1977 and still today

Yay! A favourite! Such a classic. Each song was so different from the next - and none of them bad! A 'must listen' again, and again, and again!

Gliches für "The Chain". "Oh Daddy" Au geil, au wenns jetzt irgendwie weniger gstreamed worde isch. Ja aso eigentlich klar ganz stabiles Album, prob miis best rated Album (zemme mit eminem, haters gonna hate ;D) 4.9/5

Sorry sind am skifahre gsi und denn derf mer ja mal s eint oder s ander album verpasse hani ghört😂🫶🏼 Hey ja fleetwood mac isch eif guet? Macht spass z lose!

jede song en banger

oke vorweg ich lieb das album worschinli top 10 ever isch au kein hot take es isch afoch extreeem guet. second hand news fuuuck. fick. aaaah. es tönt so knackig alles s baut langsam uuf, de song isch so simpel aber gsangsharmonies sind so schön. dreams isch uunglaublich ein vode beste breakup songs überhaupt. d melancholie und s schwebende glück glichzitig uii. never goong back so cute. dont stop lauft mer regelmässig noh und s isch immer in guete moment. go your own way au en breakup song fürd ewigkeit. songbird. mann sie singed alli soo guet. the chain herzstuck vom album und beste song. da heisst öppis. wie hend sie gmacht. you make loving fun vergissi amel wie chrank guet de song isch. bgvs mann. fuuuck. oh daddy (ich weisnich digga muss des) gold dust woman. ihri stimme passed afoch chraank guet zeme. eazy home-run-überhaupt-kein-zwiifel-lockers füfi.

It's THE Rock/Pop album, along with PREFAB SPROUT’S “Steve McQueen” (1985) There's just so much right with it. The entire album is packed with melodies you'll never get out of your head, lyrics you'll contemplate spitting bitterly during your next lover's tiff, great guitar work from Lindsey Buckingham, an-array of diverse and wonderful vocalists and songwriters, and spikey hints of the trauma the group was going through while making it. Just observe how unhinged "Second Hand News" is - it tries to be jolly in the face of depression and ends up borderline insane. And how acute and cutting is that chorus on "Dreams"? "Women they will come, and they will go, but when the rain washes you clean, you'll know." Buckingham's last-ditch attempt to get over his break-up on "Go Your Own Way" is utter perfection, and "The Chain" is even better - all 5 members dissecting their infidelities and failings for all the world to listen to. Need I even mention that bassline? It truly says something for the power of this record that songs as good as Christine McVie's awesome contributions, "Don't Stop", "You Make Loving Fun", "Oh Daddy" and "Songbird", don't even stand out. Any other group would kill for songs like these, but in Fleetwood Mac, they were casually being knocked off by the keyboard player.

IMO one of the 25 best albums of all time.

Perfect 70s AOR. Oh Daddy is the only one I’d consider skipping and it’s stuffed with solid gold classics. Production is fantastic (the drums and bass in particular sound great). Buckingham’s guitar parts are always just the right side of the wanky/tasteful continuum and the way the layer acoustic parts with electric gives it depth. Add to that three really good songwriters and vocalists and you have an absolute classic. The previous album is my all time favourite of theirs, but the soap opera nature of this adds a little something. It’s Rumours FFS

Any day, all day! Love them - always have.

Yes! A wonderful classic album. Always enjoy it. A great way to start my day.

Has to be 5 stars.

All the ladies love this magnificent album and so do I.

Stone classic. Everybody I know has a different favorite song from this album, and they're all right (mine's Gold Dust Woman).

This is an excellent album. Not one bad song. Always worth listening to.

Not my fav Fleetwood Mac album, but almost every song is a hit. Dreams and The Chain??? Iconic

Excellent album...a classic!

Nothing new to be said about this album - it’s a great one - and it’s also amazingly produced, amazingly sung, and amazingly performed.

I'm not the biggest fan of Fleetwood Mac - I could never get behind the drama and the history of the band, or why that would make the music any better. But it's undeniable that this is one of the best albums of all time, especially when the layman knows well over half the songs on it. It's catchy, it's diverse, it's succinct. Undeniably great.

Ever track a classic

Truly brilliant album, one of the best ever written. I'm trying to envision a scenario where a musical group goes through this much turmoil to create an absolute masterpiece simply because they all respect each other too much as artists. And I've pretty much reached the conclusion that it could never happen today. It's honestly pretty amazing it even happened back then. Favorite track: Break the Chain

Masterpiece

Album Nr. 25 Endlich mal wieder ein durch und durch gutes Album.

Actually not my favorite Fleetwood Mac album (that goes to the previous, self-titled album), but still an easy 5 stars.

An absolutely iconic album with practically every song being a hit. I love how there were so many different songs writers in the band so they could all write songs talking shit about eachother while they were all banging different people in the band. I'm guessing that this is going to be a top 10 maybe even top 5 rated album on this list, and for good reason

Dreams is an absolute bop of a song. Probably the most over played Mac song but it still hits and is so breezy. It’s a song I’m almost always in the mood to hear. Never Going Back Again is a great easy tune. Don’t Stop and Go Your Own Way are admittedly good song, but something rubs me wrong about them for some reason. Songbird is relatively new one for me, but hearing Yim Yames incorporate it into Phone Went West at Bonnaroo made me ascend. His version is 100000x better than this fight me. The Chain is also one that I can listen to most of the time. While I’ve never been too particular about Fleetwood Mac this got the advantage of me listening to this on a beautiful day walking outside. Also the fact they created all these jams while coked tf out and everyone banging each other is impressive in itself.

Hot damn!!

A classic for obvious reasons. Nothing to complain about

I listen to this often, classic rock fan that I am. It inspired me years ago to look into Fleetwood Mac deeper. Nothing like the early stuff. I lean towards the Buckingham-Nicks group.

Nearly hit after hit, nearly perfect album, nearly giving this 100/100, but i would give "Rumours" an easy 5/5. Favourite song(s): "Dreams", "Never Going Back Again", "Go Your Own Way", "Songbird", "The Chain", "I Don't Want to Know".

I saw Fleetwood Mac come up and was immediately excited. Then I started listening and thought, maybe these songs are too tired and dated, maybe not as good as I thought, overused. But then I got to the end and said , "I need to listen to this again. Right now"

It’s rare that an album is this universally acclaimed both critically and commercially, but it is just that good.

Clásico instantaneo e indiscutible. Imprescindible. Pop-rock fresco, melodias preciosas, hits reconocibles y una continiudad en todo el disco admirable. Grupo en estado de gracia. Altamente recomendable.

Great music

It holds up. I didn’t *need* to listen to this album. But I did, anyway.

Det er sådan poprock skal lyde

It is understandable why this particular Fleetwood Mac album would be so highly rated as it is chock-full of great songs by a great band. I would not say it is their absolute best but it is "in the running" as it were.

I don't think there was one bad song on this one!

One of my favourite albums of all time, such a delightful experience to listen to it anytime I can.

Oh snap! All but 3 songs off this album are already saved in my playlists, but I’ve never listened to the album itself. It’s a perfect as you’d imagine. Nothing out of place. No sour notes. Beautiful music.

Banger after banger after banger after banger. Drugs and emotion fueled the fire to create one of the greatest albums of all time. Just sucks that the band hated each other recording the majority of this album.

I'm in my 70's. Who my age doesn't love fleetwood mac?

Excellent lp

9/10 - 5/5 Much more variety than the previous albums I got. Amazing instrumentation, along with surprises like castanets. Several top 100 songs and some I didn't know I knew. Great vocals and songwriting. A good album to really sit and listen to.

Sound track of the 70's

Awesome

Honestly there are lots of classical Fleetwood Mac song on this album and is a very very good album

Taking me wayyyy back! This is the soundtrack of my childhood! Love it!

Strong candidate for greatest album of all time.

One of my all-time favorite albums, (and an all-time favorite for the world). Instant 5 stars, I probably didn’t even need to listen to it again—I’ve heard it so many times that I can practically hear the whole thing in my mind. Nonetheless, I relished the opportunity for another listen. There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said about this remarkable album, so I’ll end with this: there is probably no greater collection of songs that exists—every track is top notch, even my least favorite. A perfect record, and the third I would give 6/5 to if I could—the others being “Songs in the Key of Life” and “Dark Side of the Moon.” (How do I pick just one song for my playlist?)

Hit after classic hit. Easy 5.

Great. Start to Finish!

Finally an album worthy of being on the 5-star list. Great sounding record... cleaner then most modern records. Haunting Vocals and catchy riffs. Dreams, Never Going back Again, The Chain, GoldDust Woman all top tier songs.

Very interesting.

Love it. Classic

Classic!

One of the greatest albums of all time. Dreams is one of the best songs of all time. Don't Stop is an ear worm. Go Your Own Way is a classic. Songbird might be one of the greatest love songs written The Chain is a favorite You Make loving Fun 8/10 fun love song I Don't Want To Know 8/10 simple but catchy Oh Daddy is scathing

Russ almost gave it a 5, I also almost want to give it a 5. So, I will, and Russ amd I can average out to giving it a 4.5. Great album overall.

One of the best rock bands ever. Stevie Nicks at her best. Enough said!

Excellence.

Most people know this classic rock album. Some say it is soft rock. Well, damn good music is what is! And that is because Fleetwood Mac have always been able to point out more the roll in Rock'n'Roll. Few bands are able to pull this off. Think about that.

My father hates this album because it was "overplayed" at the time of its release. "IT WAS EVERYWHERE. I COULDN'T ESCAPE," he said. So, as a teenager I avoided it... and I'm still pissed he ever told me this. I wanted to hate it because I wanted to be like my father, BUT I FUCKING LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.

What is there to say, one of the most perfect albums of all time. Filled with raw emotion, hurt, and love... and some of the best diss tracks in music history.
