Reviews (page 4 of 7)
Hard to believe how slow it sounded today vs at the time. Timberland’s beat stood out the most.
This is classic 90's Hiphop. The definition of 90's hiphop.
Well, a pleasant surprise indeed. Chilled out Hip Hop done extremely well. I never paid Missy much heed growing up, and I’m not sure I’d invest in this for my collection. However, I wasn’t in any rush to put it off so that’s something. Outstanding tracks: none, they were all similar enough to each other to not stop me in my tracks.
Really enjoyed the vocals and production. A bit too long for me though and a lot of the songs sounded samey. Good but not sure if I will come back to it.
This album was good. I understand this is Missy's first album but amateurish quality to the album doesn't speak to me like it would others. I got mad respect for Timbaland but his production on here didn't do much for me either. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was expecting (maybe because I'm not too familiar with his work before the 2000's excluding Pony) The bars were good and features kinda do the heavy lifting but it's all round a fine record. I know Missy Elliott's work after this is great and it was cool to listen how she broke into the rap genre. Top 3: Hit 'Em With Hee, The Rain, and Izzy Izzy Ahh 3.00-3.25/5
Missy is classic hip hop. I was never a huge fan of Timbaland. 3/5
2,8 - Das Album verliert sich leider irgendwann in belanglosen Beats und gesäuselten Versen. Dabei hat der Anfang echt Spaß gemacht. Highlights: Busta's Intro, Sock It 2 Me
1 hour of ok material
It’s good! Doesn’t stand out for me as much as Under Construction - makes sense since this was her first album.
This was good. I appreciate that this album was produced by Timbaland. Her flow just isn't amazing yet.
Fav: Best Friends (Feat. Aaliyah) Least Fav: Hit ‘Em Wit Da Hee (Feat. Lil Kim) Timbaland beats hit hard once again
A pretty solid album, some good parts, some more mediocre parts, but nothing I’d call bad. It’s got some really great moments, I would probably rate it higher if it was a bit more streamlined. 3/5
I thought this started quite well, the first few tracks being really quite good, with some cool production and beats, and Missy with a break nice smooth flow. It quite quickly turned to being a bit monotonous though and by the midway point of what is, of course, an overly long album, I was really waiting for it to end. So I’d say I’m more likely to pick a couple of tracks off this to add to a playlist than i would be to listen to the whole thing again.
One thing you can say about early Missy Elliott is her albums are fun, Timbaland production is tight as hell and undeniably of it's time, but Missy's raps are just so off the wall surreal one minute then super serious the next... It keeps you on your toes.
This was like hip-hop on ambien… a little too chill for me
Okay, I guess. Not my typical style/genre, so not really into it. Can recognize that it had a huge impact.
I think Missy has a really unique style, and I'm a fan of most things that Timbaland tackles. Plus Busta Rhymes is pretty entertaining. "The Rain" is an awesome track. The rest of the album is pretty good. It's kind of a high 3, maybe I'd push it to 4 with more listens.
I wanted to like this more than I ended up liking it. The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) is a classic, but a lot of it faded into the background. Pretty sure Missy has better albums in her.
nice funk grooves
Not really for me, but i did like some of the beats
So good
Timberland's wickawickawickas have always irked me a bit - I feel like they are in every song he's produced - probably not, but they are distinctively annoying when they do pop up. Overall I didn't mind this album, pretty solid by Missy Elliott. I feel as the second album we've had by her it could have been swapped out for Salt-n-Pepa (yes, I'm going to keep banging that drum - its a huge omission if you ask me. No one did ask me, but its my review and I'll say what I like!)
Cool, some nice tracks but nothing that catched me good, but can recognize the importance for hiphop
Impeccable beats from Timbaland at the height of his powers, with Missy reigning over the proceedings with swagger, presence, heart, humor, groove, and bars. Excellent guest features, and a solidly fun and futuristic vibe throughout. This isn't really my kind of music, but it's an easy album to like, no matter what you like.
Timbaland beats are distinct but garish. I don't hate it, but I think its overrated. 2.8/5
No klasyka hip-hopu ale nie dla nas, szczerze to myślałem ze będzie to szybsze, to takie powolne i spokojne, może lecieć do pracy ale bez Oli w domu
A good album, I liked Beep Me 911 and Pass Da Blunt the most.
Pretty smooth album blending hip hop and r&b. Nothing particularly stood out to be me but it was enjoyable and easy to listen to. Surprised how refined and though out this album sounded both for the age and given the fact it was a debit album.
I thought this was a heck of a throwback and boy she really did a great job on this. Busta rhymes timberland being the producer
It surprised me. Some catchy songs but generally unremarkable.
Missy Elliot is awesome. I understand she was carving out her well deserved spot in the industry, but I still wish there was more of her voice on this album. I've already generated Under Construction which is near perfect. I'm more likely to relisten to UC, but I definitely enjoyed hearing her debut and first work with Timbaland. I chose Izzy Izzy Ahh for my playlist because it hints at all the fun ways she starts incorporating her vocalizations even more predominantly later on. I'm giving this 3, but it would be 3.5 if there were half stars.
3.5, banco la referencia a curtis
Timbalands production alone makes this at least a 3. Can def tell this is a freshman album as her bars are pretty weak but that being said this is a great debut album. Strong 3
Ugh. That homophobic asshole starting and ending the album really rubs me the wrong way. And it's hilarious how cliche the timbaland beats sound now. That being said there are some incredible songs on this. SOME.
I wanted to really like this, but it was just okay. It was like Missy and Timberland got really really high and started talking about everyone criticizing them and then wrote the most mellow relaxed revenge album. They threw in a couple of random songs, but also wanted to remind you how great they are, by staying super chill and mellow.
Musically it's pretty good. Lyrically it's okay. I like her rap style but the only song I especially liked was Izzy Izzy Ahh.
It's a really funny bit to have a lyric "I'm such a good rapper" in your rap album. First half was fine, the second half kinda dragged for me.
I don’t even disagree but repeatedly singing “I’m such a good rapper” is very funny to me
It was okay! you can tell from this debut that ms. Missy was destined for success. I really liked "Friendly Skies," it is verrrry reminiscent of "International Lover" <3
I like Missy’s hip-hop music but a little too many R&B tinged tracks for my taste on this one.
I can appreciate Missy for her talents in the industry and enjoy her hits as one-off songs (The Rain being the most recognized on the album) but the album as a whole isn’t something I would put on again. I did enjoy a few of the songs that pulled in bits of other songs. I liked how Pass the Blunt had reggae influence, even though the line about Puffy doesn’t age well. It’s not really my genre when it comes to albums but enjoyable for a one time listen.
I don’t feel like I can properly rate something like this because I can’t tell if it’s good or not… I just know it’s not for me.
A classic in its time, which stands up better than many albums from then
bustas intro- 5 hit em with the hee- 5 sock it to me- 5. the chorus is good but the song drags the rain- 5 beep me 911- 5 they dont wanna fuck with me- 5 pass the blunt- 5 or 6 bite our style- 5 friendly skies- 5 best friends- 5 dont be coming- 5 no more its fine but it drags on and every song starts to sound the same
I had way higher hopes Best Song: The Rain Rating: 5.0/10 (Okay) Stars: 3/5
Very mediocre
Beats are fire, some true classics here - like 3 songs too long
Missy and Timbaland are a smooth combo. A few bops on here but overall it wasn't my favorite project. Close to a 4 for me but not quite there.
Missy Elliott is one of the greatest female rappers of all time, and while this album doesn't highlight her best verses, it at least introduced us to the Queen of Hip-Hop, and features an array of incredible artists. I will say it overstayed its welcome. Favorite Track: "The Rain(Supa Dupa Fly)".
OK
Enjoyed this 3/5
This was a great listen if slightly bogged down by the trend at the time to bloat hiphop albums with too many filler tracks. Missy Elliott never got big enough in my mind, I really felt she had something special but it was maybe a bit too ahead of its time. She’s at her best with Timbaland producing, just an incredible duo that I wish we see more work from, but it feels like the time for this specific style of hiphop has passed. A good listen, but could have been great if the album was tightened up a bit.
Ok, so having another artist open your album to tell people how good you are...? Good of Busta to help a young artist out, and I suppose a young female artist in this genre in the 90s wasn't starting on 3rd base, but still, set the wrong tone for me. That being said, once this one gets into its groove, there's some listenable tracks, though I'm definitely not going to consider myself exactly qualified to assess the quality of the hip hop. Guess I'll just have to take Missy's self aggrandizing word for it, since she calls it out on just about every track. Maybe the name drops (that Puffy call-out hasn't aged well) indicate how amazing she is. Drinking game idea: drink every time Timbaland's name gets dropped.
Pretty cool album, more RnB than I was expecting but really enjoyed it. Great production with Timbaland and heaps of collabs.
Fun and funky R&B base with some fun lyricism from Missy Elliott. I enjoy so many of the guest features on this album as well. Miss E has the power to keep up with the great rap artists of the 90s with a smooth flow. Fave Tracks: Hit 'Em wit da Hee; Sock It 2 Me; The Rain; Beep Me 911; Friendly Skies; Don't Be Comin' (In My Face) Worst Track: They Don't Wanna Fuck wit Me
When Missy got to work with Timbaland, she decided she had struck gold. "How can I ever pay him back?" she thought as she sat down to pen lyrics, "I know I'll mention how awesome he is at every chance I get. Now what I need is to express that aspiration of success and craftsmanship, let's see...."
Good
Surprisingly not so bad - R&B and funk elements helped me to "survive"... :)
01) Busta's Intro - 7,0 02) Hit Em wit da Hee - 8,0 03) Sock It 2 Me - 10,0 04) The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) - 9,0 05) Beep Me 911 - 9,5 06) They Don't Wanna Fuck wit Me - 7,0 07) Pass da Blunt - 7,5 08) Bite Our Style (Interlude) - / 09) Friendly Skies - 7,5 10) Best Friends - 7,0 11) Don't Be Commin' (In My Face) - 6,5 12) Izzy Izzy Ahh - 8,0 13) Why You Hurt Me - 7,0 14) I'm Talkin - 7,0 15) Gettaway - 7,0 16) Busta's Outro - 5,0 17) Missy's Finale - / TOTAL: 7,53 (75/100) Current ranking: 249/552
It was fine, but Missy went on to make much more interesting music than this. "I'm Talkin" was so bad that I was tempted to give the whole album one star, but on reflection, it's an okay album that deserves three stars.
Shrug. It's fine. Longer than I would've preferred + didn't like the intro/outro, but otherwise inoffensive.
It’s not bad at all, and the first half is particularly good. But, it’s overlong and I’m not hearing much that would make it essential, though this is a bit out of my wheelhouse.
Not even close to my usual jam, but not painful to listen to.
Decent album. Missy and Timberland create such a unique combination. Not as many hits on this record, but still good. 3/5 Might listen again
I wasn’t blown away by this album but I didn’t hate it. The few songs that I saved off the album were not especially memorable. But the big highlight is the music and production on this album are buttery smooth. If you like r/b, this is a must.
Not my favorite of Missy's, but it was just the beginning.
В принципе, фоном слушалось неплохо. Пожалуй, поставлю 5 баллов из 10.
I’ve never been the biggest Missy fan. She’s definitely talented, and there were a few tracks on here that were petty good, but I mostly thought it was just okay
I actually like Missy Elliott, but I've never heard this album. It's kinda mediocre. Better than a lot other hip hop of that time period, but not remarkable.
Nothing new to see here the first of 6 albums with one theme.
This one has the beats and production values, maybe a little too diverse even. But when it hits it holds up despite being over two decades old.
A work of art that deserves to be here but not a style I’m a big fan of
Don’t know if it’s the slower pace, the beats, or the samples used, but this is undeniably 90s and that it comfortingly familiar even when I have never heard any track beyond The Rain. Is this the best hip hop album? No. Would I put this on while I get shit done. Absolutely. 3⭐️
Pretty good but I was expecting a lot more rapping, it ended up being like 90% soul and R&B and sounded pretty samey throughout as a result but still decent. (6/10). Also Busta rhymes featuring was pretty cool.
Definite talent. A lot of guest stars dilutes her contribution, IMO
This is good, but it isn't iconic.
It's good, but around halfway it couldn't keep my attention anymore. Favorite song: beep me 911
Not bad for a debut album, but I have never cared much for Missy.
Listen a little bit. Seemed decent.
Really nice production!!
Started out so strong but petered out a bit over the course. The Rain is just about perfect. 3.5
Getting an album with "Beep Me 911" right after an album with "E-Mail My Heart" is really enjoyable, as is getting Supa Dupa Fly a few days after Superfly. Anyway, random number generator aside, this album is a really fun and easy listen which is surprising since it has so much spoken word and is an hour long, which can feel like a real drag sometimes. Missy Elliott consistently just has so much artistic vision and the ability to deliver on what's in her head - it's really impressive.
So much dead air filled with talking about what they are going to rap. Just rap it! Missy has come a long way since then
Caña
Very sensual, but groovy, smooth.. nice!
So much better than I expected.
Pretty standard hip hop. The title track is awesome, surprised I’d never heard it before.
Timbaland proving himself the greatest R&B producer of all time. Listening to 'Hit em wit da hee', or 'More than a woman' from Aaliyah's self-titled, is enough to make 2010s production sound boring as fuuck. Missy's fine.
Definitely full of fun 90s bops, but overall it runs kinda long only ending up to be just OK overall.
It is okay.
I didn't mind Missy Elliott's music, except for the slow stuff where she sings high.
A lot of heavy lifting from Busta Rhymes and Timbaland help make this freshman release successful. Missy Elliot will go on to some great Hip Hop works but you can see the talent on Supa Dupa Fly. 3/5
The production is strong and there are some good lines. Not so much my scene but some funny moments and decent hooks
A really amazing debut album from Missy Elliot. Raunchy and raw, it showed that a woman can rap about the same shit as male rappers (fucking, drugs, etc..) and do it with class. Good songs: Pass Da Blunt The Rain Hit 'em Wit da Hee 3/5
Sounds like every song released in 01-06 which is impressive given it was released in ‘97. Solid.
supa dupa might be going a bit too far
Day380- it’s a good album but not top 100 all time
I liked this a lot more than I expected. It's a very listener friendly album, but I'm not sure I'd consider it an all time great.
This album has some great tracks! I had this one back in '97 when it came out. 3/5
Found Busta Rhymes intro a bit odd... felt like a foreword for someone's biography, maybe that was the intended effect. Found myself a bit bored at times, although Missy's lyrics were fun, hilarious and catchy. Timbaland has produced some pretty cool beats here, but I just don't know if this style of album is for me. The whole thing kind of blends into one.
Not heard this one in full before. It's not her best but got some belters
Funny album... Repetitive...
Favorite Track: Pass da Blunt
I imagine this album was recorded in a hazy room filled to the brim with damp smoke, people lounging back in their lazy chairs - all posed exactly as instructed by Missy Elliott on the album cover - with just a hint of ennui in the air. The evening is fiercely laid-back, stories are being flung around hinting at deeper, undisclosed feelings but you find yourself just nodding along since your brain is bobbing like a balloon anyway. When the night eventually ends, you find yourself outside in the cold again. You're filled with a fuzzy sense of contentment, but you can't shake the feeling that time has just stood still for the past - you don't even know how many - hours and it starts to creep up on you just how little you have been doing the entire day.
At first I thought that this would be just another boring Hip-Hop album, but it's more R&B and Funk than Hip-Hop, and I quite liked it.
Mostly entertaining, some songs a bit slow
Part of a wave of mid 90s hip hop albums that really brought the genre to a commercial peak and changed the sound and style of pop music across the board. The slowed down and spaced out beats with a sultry RnB feel, emphasis on hooky grooves, and the big choruses made this THE production template for the next decade plus. Laid back delivery of sharp rhymes paired with sung lines, overall Missy Elliott's verses are still central but less out front and more part of an ensemble funk performance.
Heh
The Rain:ssa sama sample kuin Zeds Deadin Sweet Memories kappaleessa. Timbalandin tuottama levy ja sen kyllä kuulee instruissa. 50/50 Hiphop ja Rnb, ihan ok mutta ei niin hyvä kuin Missyn aikasempi levy. Parhaat: Don't Be Comin' (In My Face), Izzy Izzy Ahh, Pass da Blunt
I couldn't have named a Missy Elliott track, but am glad she's included here. I'm also glad her debut album has come up first; I like chronology when getting to know an artist I haven't previously made time for. So the singles appear first, I gather, which explains why they're highly listenable. I like the laid back slow beats and basslines. I'm never really going to relate to lyrics of this type, so I tend to tune them out. Enjoyed the overall vibe of the music.
I did like the groove, despite the ongoing slow tempo. Otherwise, nothing spectacular.
It's fine kinda long. Not really my jam but could see how some dig it
Missy Elliott - Supa Dupa Fly Was surprised to get a rap album from this list, but I'm not complaining, since I'm a huge hip-hop fan. I already heard of Missy Elliott before, but never took the time to listen to her music until now. As expected, this album is very direct, spontaneous and her bars go to great levels at times. From start to end, it does indeed feel like a journey you are taking upon to understand her perspectives and struggles she had to faced to in her past, and it just so happens to have great beats from Timbaland. This is great! 1.- Busta's Intro = 7/10 2.- Hit 'Em wit da Hee = 8/10 3.- Sock It 2 Me = 8/10 4.- The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) = 9/10 5.- Beep Me 911 = 9/10 6.- They Don't Wanna Fuck wit Me = 8/10 7.- Pass da Blunt = 8/10 8.- Bite Our Style (Interlude) = 6/10 9.- Friendly Skies = 9/10 10.- Best Friends = 9/10 11.- Don't Be Comin' (In My Face) = 7/10 12.- Izzy Izzy Ahh = 9/10 13.- Why You Hurt Me = 8/10 14.- I'm Talkin' = 7/10 15.- Gettaway = 8/10 16.- Busta's Outro = 7/10 17.- Missy's Finale (Spoken Word) = 6/10 FINAL SCORE = 7.8/10
groovy
It's a debut with a lot of well known collaborators so I guess she made a name for herself early on. It's ok, but not for me. Faves: The Rain, Why You Hurt Me
I liked parts of this a lot but it did start to drag in the back third. Could probably use about 15 mins shaving off (definitely including the ghastly "Best Friends") and it would really tighten things up. The Timbaland production is great - loved hearing all the bleeps and bloops supporting Missy's flows, which were generally on point. Fave tracks - "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)" from the tracks I was familiar with, and "Beep Me 911" from the others.
J'ai clairement préféré cet album à "Under Construction", mais encore une fois c'était un peu long et redondant à la longue. J'aimais déjà pas mal plus son flow et la production par Timbaland porte beaucoup du poids. 6/10
Ok this is actually good 90s hip-hop. Props. Stand-out: Best Friends
Front half of the album is absolutely loaded, but it's like 20 minutes too long; most of the back half is pleasant but kind of unremarkable, for the most part.
Good bars although it feels dated. Us this still on the current list?
Pretty meh
This was a fun album. Didn’t know that Timbaland was producing at this time but I can see the influences
If it weren’t for timberland’s production this would be a 2. No songs really stood out and caught my ear but it sounded like good, turn of the millennium hip hop. We might take this for granted given how the sub genre went on to dominate, but cool to hear who did it first before that sound was ubiquitous.
I recognize how one of a kind Missy Elliot is, and The Rain is a great song with a great video. Beyond that, not an album I’m going to throw on again.
It’s just fine. Don’t see myself caring too much after a single listen.
More albums should feature Busta Rhymes. Preferably, on every song. The album artist's presence is optional It had some laughable lyrics like "I'm such a good rapper". Don't know if it was sincere or not, but I had a good laugh Izzy Ahh song was the best
Best Song: The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly). Such a great sleepy/dizzy sound. Worst Song: Friendly Skies. Ginuwine trying desperately to replicate the success of "Pony" and falling short. Overall: A much more muted, less boisterous offering than Missy Elliott's later (and in my opinion, better) stuff. Still, there's a certain laid-back appeal here, and the production is undeniably slick.
Liked this more than I thought I would. The production is very slick, I'd say shout out to Timbaland but Missy Elliott has that covered! I can't think of another album that thanks you for listening at the end.
2.75
Pretty good
Primer acercamiento a Missy Elliott. FAVTRAXS: Sock It 2 Me, The Rain, They Don't Wanna Fuck wit Me, Pass da Blunt, Friendly Skies, Best Friends, I'm Talkin' LEASTFAV: Why You Hurt Me 3/5 (podría ser un 3.5/5 en la teoría)
This is Missy Elliott's debut album, coming out 5 years before Under Construction (which I got 152 albums ago on here). There are a whole lot of collaborators on this one, you get appearances from Timbaland (the producer), Lil' Kim, Aaliyah, Busta Rhymes, and a bunch of other people that I've never heard of before (including some dude named Magoo). This is another one that's a little bit underwhelming to me listening to now, but I think the context is probably important. This thing comes out basically right in the middle of the whole east-vs-west coast rivalry, and a lot of the rap music was really bleak and violent. Missy is definitely not the first female rapper, but it was definitely hugely male-dominated at the time too. And then she drops this and it avoids the whole rivalry and is both witty and funny. It also sounds much more like a 2000s album than a '90s album to me, which I think is a testament to Timbaland's production. This feels "old" today, but nothing like a lot of the early '90s rap albums. My issue with this is that, frankly, I find it a bit boring. She has some moments, but the pace is a bit slow throughout and there just isn't a ton that's captured my attention here. Under Construction had some standout songs ("Work It" for sure) that this one doesn't quite have for me. It's consistent, but not in a way that I'm loving. Anyway, it's alright. One of those that deserves to be on the list for its impact on the genre, but not particularly notable to me. Favorite song: Izzy Izzy Ahh Other: Sock It 2 Me, The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly), Beep Me 911, Pass da Blunt, Best Friends, Why You Hurt Me 10/10/24
Decent hip hop/R&B
A perfect time-capsule from the mid 90s.
It was fine.
Great debut album, and kept getting better. I didn't realize Timbaland produced. Enjoyed listening start to finish.
Decent beats and rapping but it gets boring after a while.
Pretty soft and r&b vibes. I like it but not really my Vibe that much
I remember when this came out and it seemed very innovative at the time, but I'm not sure it stood the test of time. Probably deserves a place on this list for historical reasons, but I won't be listening again. Side note: it cracks me up when she intones "I'm such a good rapper" in "I'm Talkin'". I assume/hope she's just pretending to be serious here, but I feel like lots of people didn't take it that way.
Okay album.
Her verse in 1,2 step hit harder than anything on this album. This had more of an r&b, soul vibe than the rap/hiphop I know missy for. Overall I enjoyed it but I don’t think it’s her biggest work.
стилевое дерьмо. и мисси читает плотно, и тимбэлэнд музло делает хорошое. но в целом такое ощущение тяжеловесное, местами прям томно
I liked this decently well, but it wasn't super compelling.
It’s fine
This isn't really my thing, but it's not too bad. I like the production in general, and there's some good flowing, vibey songs in here. It's more chill than I thought it might be, and more singing than rapping which I didn't expect. It was quite listenable.
It's OK. When Missy raps, she sounds confident and forceful but there's too much R&B crooning by other artists that brings this down a couple of notches. Still, glad I was exposed to it.
Not being too familiar with 90s US hiphop scene, quite a few names on there. missy elliot, busta rhymes, lil kim, timbaland. Meh
Supa Dupa Features but also Supa Dupa Forgettable
Sock It 2 Me //
Fínt Hip-hop, en svolítið inn um annað og út um hitt. Má alveg vera í gangi en gerir í raun ekkert fyrir mig.
Found a lot of the songs a bit too slow for my liking. 3/5
Not the most supa dupa fly thing I’ve ever heard
Timbaland's fingerprints are all over this, and this is more his album than Missy's, I think. Missy's flow has always been solid and unique, but I think lyrically, she made huge improvements in later albums that I personally think are more noteworthy. I also feel like a couple of cameos were unnecessary: Busta was just playing hype man instead of adding musical value, and Lil Kim and Da Brat have never done it for me (though I acknowledge Lil Kim's flow). Aaliyah, to me, was the only guest that added value. This album is a good start for Missy. She only got better as she went on. I appreciate how Missy "got weird" later in her career, which is something I feel like people who listen to this genre had little tolerance for at the time. Missy was definitely her own person, which I always thought was cool
Nice, but nothing too crazy. Timbaland’s production adds it’s own charm and Missy E and the guest artists do a fair job
I think this is fine?
After an oddly misjudged introduction from Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot steps up to show the boys how Hip Hop is done. This is a highly accomplished debut album with a lot of depth and some surprising twists. The highlight is probably an unexpectedly cheeky cover of Pass the Dutchie which becomes a song about the joys of smoking dope.
It's a pretty chill rap album. It wouldn't be so memorable if wasn't for the fact that it was one of the albums playing a role to assess women rappers position in the mainstream.
After 4 tracks I was ready to write this album off as complete garbage. To me rap music is about the lyrics, therefore the lyrics have to have substance. All I was hearing was - I'm the greatest, name drop, I'm the greatest, swear, repeat. Luckily there were songs with something to say later in the album. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough meat on the bone to raise this above mediocre.
Missy Elliott has style and this album drips with it, though it just isn't my favorite style of hip hop/ rap. Good flow, it seems effortless, but the content in the songs is either unrelateable or boring to me. Some of the backing tracks are pretty cool and I'm glad I listened. My favorite here is Hit 'Em wit da Hee.
I appreciate Missy, and her contributions to the genre, but again, this just isn't my jam.
This sounds a lot like most other late 90s-early 00s rap that I’m familiar with. The beats are extremely well produced, but the most notable thing about Missy’s lyrics is the career they precede
Well, not really my thing, but it seems well produced and has both attitude and humor. The video for "Sock it 2 me" is pretty impressively weird and funny, and somewhat the same for "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)". It's interesting to see how much critics and reviewers talk about how pioneering this album was (for both Missy Elliott and Timbaland), and particularly how "futuristic" it sounded back in 1997. I guess it's a testament to how influential this must have been that in 2024 it doesn't sound as unusual or revelatory as it did then. I *do* wish the album was about half as long, to be honest, but I *do* appreciate it that this project exposed me to this album.
Love the instrumental flip on The Rain; makes for a really dope, stripped down song that doesn't feel like it has aged at all. Instrumental on Beep Me 911 on the other hand is distinctly 90s, but is pretty great. Weird thing is I could easily see this being used by a boy band if Missy didn't pick it up. Gettaway sounds like something Justin Timerlake would have used on The 20/20 Experience. This was fine, but honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. Certainly were a few high points (The Rain, Pass da Blunt, Izzy Izzy Ahh), but a lot sort of fell into meh territory for me. I'd say this is 3.5 territory for me -- better than average, but not by much.
Honestly, I was expecting a little more from this. Maybe the expectations were too high knowing all of Missy Elliott's hits, but only a few tracks really stuck out. A lot was repetitive with only ok lyricism.
Ooooh de wondere late 90s, the boss bitch era. En boss bitch anthem 'Sock It 2 Me' moet even benoemd worden, want die beat is trademark female hip hop van de late jaren 90. 6,5/10 Highlights: I'm Talkin' Sock It 2 Me
It was another old-school hip-hop in a row, but noting how some songs aged much better than others was interesting. It's far from my favorites, but it's a nice album.
I loved this as a showcase of Timbaland's production abilities. The features are doing too much here though and not letting Missy shine. The inclusion of an album of hers that isn't the one with Get Ur Freak On? Not sure if I agree with that. That song still sounds fresh and original 23 years on but some of this tracklist is pretty dated. A tentative 3 because it's leaning towards a 4. Also sidenote - loved the Busta Rhymes and spoken word outros, very different.
First listen, decent but doesn’t come close to the greatest of later missy.
Not exactly my thing, but I sorta like it.
5 / 10 Rap clásico, poco especial a parte de que la cantante principal sea una mujer y de las colaboraciones. No debería estar en esta lista.
It was OK.
Excellent rap album. Very well recorded, produced and conceived. I had never heard of Missy Elliot, but I loved her voice.
3.5
All about getting high and shagging. Interesting for a debut.
Pleasant enough, no desire to re-listen.
Great make out album.
J'aime le côté frondeur et assuré, avec la mise en scène caractéristique de ces années.
Some really good songs on here, but I found the quality dipped a bit in the second half, and it's way too long. It's dated in strange ways as well, like some of the slang makes no sense anymore. In general I prefer Missy's hip hop stuff to her R&B. Love I can't stand the rain though!
Not really my type of music, and also not really my type of rap, but it was nice and chill, perfect for just having it in the background. I enjoyed some of the background tunes.
Local legend. Hell yeah. 757 forever. Her later work is for sure stronger. Timbaland's production is legendary.
At least this was melodically listenable for the most part
such a vibe, but it's definitely not my vibe
Listened to this while playing Final Girl. The poltergeist killed me and I lost. I looooove me some Missy...but I really love her more later works more than this album. It was super fun hearing her debut...definitely some classics. I was surprised by quality of the guest spots considering it was her first album. Some great early Timbaland beats...but also not as strong as his work down the line. It was also fun to hear her backwards-speak in a song i hadnt heard before. I didn't realize she had done that multiple times! I keep teetering between a 3 and 4...but I feel like a 3 is where this should land.
Svedigt album. Kunne absolut godt høre Timbalands indblanding, om end for mange af numrene flød sammen for mig. Momentvis hvad den spændende takter hvor der blev leget med sproget, men ellers var der for megen sweetloving over pladen.
I miss 90's hip hop. Timbaland made several artists great including Missy. The hits and first half are good but the second half kind of tails off a bit.
Recorded in two weeks but still sounded like it beamed in from five years in the future. Nothing jarring here—Missy’s flow, Timbaland’s beats, and a Busta cameo all glide along like they’ve known each other in a past life.
Music video jams
This album has a really cool style. Smooth R&B with hip-hop beats and big, rubbery funk basslines. Of course Timbaland produced the whole album. He's so good at making music that borrows from the past while also feeling futuristic. Missy Elliott does more crooning on this album than I expected. A lot of the rapping on the first half comes from guest appearances. But there's still a fair amount of rapping from Missy Elliott. I like the sound effect ad libs she does on “Izzy Izzy Ahh.” (The wordless hook on that song is cool too.) She has a calm, confident presence on the mic. Definitely no shortage of swagger. Wooow that beatboxing on "Gettaway" is so good. The beat sounds almost alien. The album is probably a little long for my taste but there's a lot of highlights and the production is top-shelf throughout.
This project has led me to appreciate Missy Elliot more than I did when I was growing up. I used to think she was funny and at times overly silly, and I'm finding that the music industry is missing someone like Missy in it right now. I found it surprising when I saw that her last full length record was released 19 years ago- in 2005. Surprising because growing up she was always around, always releasing and touring and making funny music videos. And this second time that she's on this list, I'm continuing to bop and listen and enjoy her songs. She's more than just a comedy rapper, she's got a beautiful tone, a slick flow, and sharp lyrics. The production is great and filled with interesting moments, and the songs aren't too formulaic.
Its solid, but falls into the same trap a lot of other old hiphop albums do: Its way to long
Well, I had a whole review for this, but I accidentally closed the tab and I don't feel like writing all that I said again, so I'll be kind of brief. I see the value in this album, but it's not really for me. Missy Elliott is iconic, yes, but I just don't really feel much with this album. I'll start with praise. I think she is a fairly solid rapper. The features are okay. The beats and music production are quite good. Timbaland definitely has a talent for it. As for my problems, it really just boils down to "it doesn't personally speak to me." The writing is kind of weak. I feel there's too many shoutouts to the featured artists. I obviously support giving credit where credit's due, but this is kind of overkill. The album was a bit long. None of the songs were that memorable to me. It felt kind of repetitive in a way. Overall, I understand why this album's on here, but it's not my thing and I have problems with it. Low 3/5.
This is my second and final Missy Elliott album to review. I listened to this for the first time a few years ago, and I wasn't wowed by it, and after listening to it today, my opinion really hasn't changed. I'll start by saying that the production work on this album is fantastic. The beats are great too, and Timbaland deserves credit for his work here. There are moments where it sounds like Missy had more creative control and freedom over this album, and those moments are the best parts. Missy is a great rapper, and I love how her voice just oozes with her personality. My biggest beef with this album is that there's not enough moments where I felt like Missy was in the driver's seat. If I remember correctly from Under Construction, I think she alludes to the fact that she lacked some confidence in the early days of her career, and this album suffers from that. There's too many featured artists on here for my taste, and it feels like Missy is a sidekick on her own project. "The Rain" and "Don't Be Comin'" were my favorite tracks. I love when Missy talks shit about crappy men, and she really delivered on "Don't Be Comin'." She does a great job of empowering other women, which she also highlights on "Best Friends" with Aaliyah. "Best Friends" was easily the best song on the album to feature another artist. In terms of influence though, this album is massive for paving the way for other female rappers, and it's a huge moment in hip-hop history. This album is fine, but I'd much rather listen to Under Construction.
Missy does what popular artists like Meghan and Minaj do now but with more fines and less brain rot. Still not my cup of tea. This is a long album and after a while I became desensitized to it and it just became background noise. 5/10
Honestly I was expecting worse, I kinda liked it Top tracks: Pass da Blunt
As lovely as the voice is, genre is tough for me to appreciate.
beats are great and i love her style but i fear going for a totally laidback r&b vibe for an hour makes it a little boring
Niet smaak, sommige nummers zijn wel Nice
Missy Elliott is iconic, but I don't think this is the entry I would put in from her catalogue. You can feel a bit of her style, but each song feels a bit underbaked and goes on for far too long. 3/5
This album definitely has a feel to it. I really liked some of the songs, but I tried listening to this while I was lifting weight and it wasn't a good fit. I'm on the fence about 3 or 4 stars, and trying to account for my poor listening voice, but will go with a 3. However this is an album, and artist that I will try to listen to more.
Meh, not something I'll come back to. There are some OK songs on here, but the album as a whole feels pretty long and dated.
Missy Elliot has always been a titan of rap. On this album, though, it showed more of her production genius than her quirky rap mastery. The two songs with Timbaland were ethereally smooth. Beat Friends with Aaliyah was R&B candy. The problem though is the collabs at the time were revolutionary, but now feel dated. Her best was still to come.
Way more R&B than I expected. I had never listened to this one before. I wanted more rap as I owned and have listened to Missy’s later albums especially Under Construction. I might have to revisit this one to truly get it.
Suena bien.
Very vibey album. Definitely has its moments and there are a couple all-timers on here (The Rain is amazing), but I’d classify most of this as really dope background music. Slightly above a 3. I’ll prob put it on next time I’m high or something.
Nice hybridization of Rap and Pop, haven’t listened to many of these but it was good. 3.3
A thoroughly enjoyable album. No single song really pierced my soul or anything, but this felt of a time without feeling dated or campy.
This album was better than I thought it was going to be, based on my memories of the singles and the fact that I really didn't like this style of hip-hop and R&B at the time. However, I think it stands up pretty well, especially the first half. The second half of the album started getting too silly and off-the-rails for me with some of the music samples sounding like someone making random mouth noises or choruses/hooks that relied too much on "the preposterous." I can definitely understand why other people would really be into this album, though.
I don't think I'd choose to ever listen to this but not in a bad way. Not my style but she's got a cool voice and the R&B/Rap style productions/song switch ups are pretty cool. I know her hits and definitely like a few but this is a crazy massive album which is impressive enough on it's own and it's her first.
Not bad by any means, just sort of flat. Was never a big fan of the mid 90s rubber suit rap and M. Elliott has always rubbed me the wrong way. 2.5/5
My opinion on Missy over the years has never really changed; she's at her best when she has complete control over the tracks. I've never cared for the features she goes with (some of the Timbaland collabs are alright). This is a solid debut that doesn't overstay its welcome, even at an hour runtime. I do wish some tracks hooked me in a bit more, as a lot of songs here get pretty samesy.
It’s interesting hearing Missy operate at a more subdued frequency before she achieved supa-dupa-star status; at times this sounds more like a showcase of Timbaland’s production than it does Elliot’s presence.
Yeah it was fine.
90’s female rap is dope! Enjoyed the shit out of it!
Solid production and was an innovative/influencial album of the time period. Great inclusion for this list, but nothing really stuck out to me to make me want to revisit.
I was in-between a 2 and 3 start rating, but didn't think this album was on par with the albums I've rated 2, so I went 3. There are a few good songs on this album but most of the others are pretty uninteresting. Not necessarily bad, but I was definitely checked out for a decent amount of the album.
I really like the couple songs off this album, but a lot of the tracks felt like filler. I also didn't like how the vocals are so quiet in the mix, maybe that was just the style of the time.
Not my usual, bit average and repetitive
I enjoyed it, but no truly great tracks.
This would be a 4 if it didn’t suffer from that early 00s production bloat and Timbaland’s one trick pony production. This sounds just like an early Justin Timberlake album.
Sexy. 2.9
I am not a huge rap fan and was not familiar with this particular album. There are some nice songs but overall felt too long.
Yeah, this was fun. Dirty, bolshy and well-delivered, with great production behind it. It suffers a little from length and gets a bit bogged down, but I can totally see why it's a popular album in the genre.
for me it's just fine, nothing remarkable
weird the first song is just busta rhymes.
missy!!! i'm glad her debut album made the list, though this album was just ok to me. i was impressed with the variety of artists guesting, especially for a debut album, and what the different artists brought. not to mention the genres because it wasn't straight hip hop. but what i like most is how revolutionary this must have been in 1997 to have a woman hip hop artist debuting with a huge album!
3/5
Great debut album.
On the whole, I liked this album more than the other Missy Elliott album that’s popped up (Under Construction); it feels a little more chill and low-key. An enjoyable album that never quite made me think more than “this is pretty good.” Highlights: Izzy Izzy Ahh, Friendly Skies
I absolutely recognise Missy's skill, but this is just not my vibe
Hip hop that has a sound I enjoy.
I always forget how R&B Missy is. I have always thought of myself as a fan but have never really listened to a full album. I thought this was great and loved all the collabs with other artists.
Objective Pinnacle 90s hip-hop. Really, really cool to hear missy and timbaland this early in their careers, still honing their sounds. Star-studded features, but holds its own without them. This truly was the golden era of hip hop. Personal Missy falls into the category that many rappers fall into for me: not amazing or elite, but solid in their offering, adding to the collective mosaic of hip hop sounds. She and timb have put out some certified bangers in their time together. Grateful for that. However, this album comes down to timbaland for me. He is one of the most versatile and consistent producers in the hip-hop/r&b arena. I didn’t think I could love him any more, but then this amazing 90s sound. You can have your favorite hip-hop producers in your youth, but just like paying your taxes and getting your own place, maturity as a fan of the genre means embracing the fact that timb is just far more talented than your favorite.
Missy Elliot proves she can straddle two genres with this sensational blend of silky R&B singing and fluid rapping. Her rapping style is laid-back, conversational, and playful, transitioning effortlessly into soulful vocal hooks. The album includes a large roster of features, some better than others, that give the record a collaborative party vibe. Timbaland's tight production, employing classic drum samples and suave instrumentals, compliments Missy Elliot's vocal styles well, adding to the relaxed conversational vibe. Many tracks sound similar, and while more variable energy would have made the album more interesting, I can't fault the artist for sticking to her smooth guns. Stand out tracks include "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Beep Me 911", "Best Friends" and "I'm Talkin'".
I appreciate this album as a set of deep cuts from Missy that show where her signature style took root. The b-side of this does not get enough love IMO. Busta's intro / outro, and Timba's weak bars strewn about detract from Missy - though the context of this album (fresh talent / female rapper in the 90s) helps me appreciate them coming out to support and produce her debut album. It's important to remember that this album is of a time and genre where the production extended far beyond sound and into the realm of video! If you haven't watched the music videos for this album, you're missing out on a lot of (very 90s) creativity that starts to pull in that millennium hyperfutursim hype.
Good
Four songs in and I'm very much enjoying this album, way more than I expected too. The rhymes are subtle and the music engaging for me. Her take on The Rain (sampes of I Can't Stand The Rain) is a hilight so far. I'm Talkin' is also a hilight. All in all a fine album, a good listen. An album that I may well return to. 3.5 stars
I was actually amazed that I liked several vs of the songs and the beats. I’m not a prude about language and swear words, I drop plenty of F bombs of my own. That said swearing, every other word just to swear, not a fan…. I know that this is just one sample of Missy Elliott’s work, so gave it 3 stars for that.
A little too much filler, but otherwise strong
I want to like this one more than I do. I was the sweet spot for when this was released and it is definitely feeling nostalgic. Missy undeniably deserves to be on this list, just not for this album. Still pretty solid so 3.5.
I was too young for this upon release. I'm not hugely into hip hop but expect that Missy's debut was a breath of fresh air. A couple decent beats from Timbaland, a handful of known collaborators, and I expect a couple long standing hits (not sure though). I expect this album was cemented over time as Missy emerged as a long standing hip hop icon. 2.70 stars
This was fine. More R&B than Rap. Not necessarily my jam.
Not bad. Less a rap album and. More of an experimental R&B/Hip-hop album
Lots of great samples on this album. Its fun to draw a straight line from Nicki Minaj and other artists popular today back to the late 90s and Missy.
3.5
Some great catchy songs on this one. Brings me back to a certain point in time, for sure!
Not bad
meh idc
The lyrics are pretty Anglo Saxon but the album is fun
Another landmark rap album, but I was expecting to enjoy this more than I did. It's well produced and I like most of the features, but this one does suffer from runtime bloat. If most of the songs were a minute (or even two minutes) shorter I think it would feel less vibe-y and tiring. It's held together by Missy Elliott's charisma and the beats, but I found myself zoning out and being surprised at how much was left to listen to.
This was a solid 90's hip hop album. The production and beats were super solid and were definitely a highlight to me. None of the rap was bad but much of it played second fiddle to the beats in my opinion. Not many of the tracks stood out to me individually but the album as a whole was enjoyable. Not sure how much I will come back to this one but one im glad we got.
While Missy Elliott should definitely have a place in this compilation, I don't this this album is the work to remember. She's starting up and not yet at the top of her game. Also, this album has "The Rain (supa dupa fly)" on it - a track I absolutely cannot stand. Even omitting that track, the album would be merely "jolly good" and not "exceptional". The track is not omitted though, so....
The first thing that stood out to me on here was the production. The beats are so good. Good flow/lyrics as well.
Izzy Izzy Ah might be the worst song on the album. That was annoying. The best song was Best Friends. Overall, the beats and the singing were good. Best hip hop album so far
Very telling that the intro track on a female rapper's debut album in the 90's is named for and about a man 🙄 The bullshit misogyny Missy must have put up with in her early career, until she was proven a valid independent artist, my god. But she's tough and she has succeeded on her own terms, much respect to Missy. This may not be my preferred genre, but I can appreciate what she's done to open doors for so many other women in the industry and in this very sexist niche of it to boot. She is a powerful feminist icon, and I respect the hell of out her. I'm happy to see that she gets the final spoken word on this record.
Un álbum seminal de Hip-Hop que influenció principalmente las tendencias trip-hop que le siguieron. Un trabajo sumamente interesante que fue esencial para la fabricación de bandas multitudinarias como Gorillaz.
3.5
This is a decent album but it's also not really my thing. I didn't strongly dislike anything on it but also wasn't blown away by any of it. I think this is a solid debut though, so I'm going with a right down the middle 3/5. Standout Tracks: Sock It 2 Me, Beep Me 911, Pass Da Blunt, Friendly Skies
It was OK. Enjoyed quite a lot of this.
Supa dupa fly what can I say.
Some of the best Hip Hop is Missy Elliott.
Music good. Rap eh.
Missy Elliots music with its sex positive attitudes was certainly something and the album is better than I thought after I just vaguely remembered the singles. However, it has the problems of many other hip hop albums that just deals with, well, hip hop. It's all very self-absorbed in a way and so I didn't care so much either when Beyoncé popped up. A different time, I guess. Nothing you really need to listen to.
Sample heavy, but really nice.
Can’t say I’m a fan of Missy as an artist but Timbaland sets up some decent music and the guest appearances help add variety and interest to Missy’s mediocrity, ultimately resulting in a half decent album.
Not my scene but pretty fun. I liked all the shoutouts, very funny to start an album with someone introducing you.
It was alright, but I probably wouldn't listen to it again.
Surprisingly funky and more mellow than I expected. I quite liked it. Apparently a rapper named Magoo gave Elliot the nickname 'Misdemeanor' "because it's a crime to have that many talents". A misdemeanor is defined as: "an action that is slightly bad or breaks a rule but is not a crime". Talk about damning with faint praise. Rating: 2.5/5 Playlist track: The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly) Date listened: 23/10/23
Good 90s hip hop. I'm digging it but it's not crazy. Very solid 3
Pretty fun listen
I probably would rate this lower if this didn’t take me right back to elementary school.
Busta Rhymes's intro and the following track are pretty fun listens, the instrumentals especially. Have found a few of the early tracks drag on a bit. A number of fun tracks on this album, although I feel like it could've closed on a stronger note. Overall, a solid debut album.
Haven’t listened to Missy Elliott in decades! Not sure I’ve ever heard this album. It’s good, but not Supa Dupa good. 3
Really like Timbaland's production on this, it's very smooth, crisp, and punchy. Missy's style on this was wayyyy more subdued than I had expected, only being familiar with her big hits prior to this listen. A lot of the album kinda floated along in the background, but it sounded great.
I don’t know it’s okay the music isn’t as bad as the other missy elliot album in my opinion but it’s just too long for me and it gets boring quick. 3/5
Supa Dupa Fly is the debut album by American rapper Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott. Missy was praised for her persona and performance, while Timbaland - the album's producer and recorder - received acclaim for his production style. This album topped the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and reached 3 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Supa Dupa Fly has also been certified platinum in the US, and is considered a classic in the hip hop genre. This was the first hip hop album from a female rapper that performed well and paved the way for similar female artists to do the same. I love the way Missy Elliott raps and the musical production by Timbaland was well done. Supa Dupa Fly is a great R&B/hip hop album that everyone should give a listen to.
This isn't really my scene but I liked bits of it a lot.
3.5
I thought that I would like this more. I remember The Rain being one of the first songs from the genre to really catch my attention. Perhaps it's because I'm not really a hip-hop head I don't understand it's influence or something. I'm just being honest that a lot of it bored me. I'll give it a 3 but a think 2.5 would be more fitting for my enjoyment.
Not her best.
A total bop but definitely NSFW
Goes hard in the early tracks before tapering off in the second half, though there are hits and skips in both parts. Timbaland’s beats are pretty great, though it is funny to skim the 1997 takes calling them “futuristic” since I think they’re more just weird and memorable. All in all it’s good, though I don’t think it’s her best based on what else I’ve heard. Best song: Sock It 2 Me
I put this one off for a while. Well produced, and actually enjoyed it more than I expected. Missy Elliot is undeniably musically talented.
rap, men ikke på en bra måte, og heller ikke på en dårlig måte
It’s pretty decent. I enjoyed the switch up in genres between hiphop and R&B and Timberlands production is really quality at points. Unfortunately it felt a bit bloated though. 6/10
Hip hop sin contemplaciones de una artista totalmente desconocida. Para amantes de este estilo. Sin ninguna extravagancia
ok but not really my bag
Heard it before?: No Enjoy it?: I did, it was calming and Elliott’s delivery is just flawless at times Favourite song: Track 14 - I’m Talkin
It was okay I guess, nothing incredible, got a bit dull in the middle, but picked up again near the end. Didn't hate it, but wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this again.
Waaaay back in 97, this was an album I loved to bump in my car. Move forward 25 years it takes me back for sure, however, it isn't the same album I remembered. Enjoyed, just not one of the best. 3/5
помню что сильно подозрительно относилась к Мисси в те времена. ща вроде норм (Тимбаленд!), но наверно надо сильно внимательнее слушать слова, без этого только продакшн приятный
I forgot how much Missy sang on this and how mindbending Timbaland’s techniques were back in the day. It’s not her high water mark, but it’s damned good.
Since he doesn't have an album of his own, I'll mention here that Busta Rhymes has a really interesting flow that is super charming. As for the rest of the album, it's pretty alright. I like Missy Elliott's rapping, and some of the backbeats are great, but the bragging gets annoying, especially the praise of Timbaland that I assume he wrote himself. None of the features feel that present to me either, other than the before mentioned Busta Rhymes. An alright album that just feels very much like an album that you'd imagine if I just said "rap album".
Album review written by Tom, feat. nobody el$e I used to hate this music, and what it stood for, the conspicuous consumption and brazen sexuality and egotism. I think that my analysis was very simplistic and I appreciate more of what people like Missy were doing, which barriers they were breaking down. I still don't like most of the music but some of it is passable. I'll be generous and give a 3.
More singing than rapping and this is a good thing to showcase the album as modern R&B closer to Aaliyah than Jay-z. I like it. Laid back, smooth, good singing.
Missy Elliott would get better later when she's chatting filth and not calling out Timbaland every 3 minutes
Nothing to write home about
very r&b Timbaland apparently did the production but it doesn't sound like him
This feels odd to say but this album feels like the lounge music of hip hop. It's laid back and relaxed.
Good listening. I can’ stop the rain.
Hip-hop. Ni fu ni fa.
