Didn't bother me in the background. Will never go back to this

As far as elevator music goes, it's pretty good

Ok background music

Okay for background music. 2/5

A bit on the boring side — I don’t think the style suits me. Sorry fellas. :( it would be nice as a background sound in an elevator maybe?

Not my vibe

Bleh. It was fine. It fits somewhere in music, but not sure how it fits in an all time list.

It's fine, but there's nothing to love it for

French electronica / tango / nu jazz! Why this album is in this list is anyone's guess because I'm not sure what to make of this album. The album is pleasant enough, but ultimately boring and doesn't really go anywhere. However, pour yourself a Pastis 51, light a Gauloises, and chill.

A little too tango and repeating electronic beats - kinda monotonous

At times I felt like I could be on vacation, at others watching a sensual tango in a movie, and then there were some when I felt like I was listening to hold music. The remixes helped, particularly the one with Antipop Consortium, but overall this was not for me.

Dear Gotan Project, This is just a courtesy note to advise that your album 'La Revancha del Tango' has reached the threshold of accordion content to be authorised as Cliche. Best regards The World Bureau of National Musical Stereotypes

Do you want electronic music that has an accordion playing French music? If yes, listen. If no, then don't.

While this picks up a bit in the middle with something interesting, it's gimmicky with repetitive saminess. Not terrible, but I've absolutely no desire to listen again.

Really monotone. Nothing interesting happened during whole album. Tried it as a background music for studying, but still didn’t like it.

Not. For. Me.

Not my thing

fine, boring.

Not my style, very European sounding though.

Boring, less than the bossanova albums in the list but still. Apparentely very popular online because every 5 minutes new commercial on Youtube, making it even more annoying, 2 stars is enough for this.

The kind of shit that plays in the background of those obviously fake prank videos you find on Youtube with a title like "Funny Compilation #87 | Funniest Pranks 2014 😂". My brain keeps filling in a laughtrack and sped up clips of people looking confused while I listen to this. I feel like I'm in a straitjacket in a white padded cell.

Natuurwinkelmuziek

I'm confused by this album and its origins in so many ways. It's not terrible just weird and draining to listen to top to bottom.

Album invecchiato male.

Boooooahhhhh laaaaangwiiilig NEEEEEXT

Pretty much repetitive

Background music.

Jazz fusion with latin undertones. Works about as well as cold nuclear fusion: despite its promise, nobody's been able to make it work. I feel like a lot of my time was wasten listening and waiting for something different that just never came.

Relaxing chill music. 2/5

Electronic music with a tango tinge…performed by French guys with a ton of Spanish influence. That odd mix of things all come together and form an album that I thought was super interesting if not really for me. That said fans of beeps and boops will dig this electric tango.

Couldn't decide if I'd heard a few of these tracks on car adverts or if they just generally sounded like car advert music. Would have made acceptable background music I think but I listened to it on the train and it was a bit dull and aimless. Inoffensive but not sure I can point to any part that stood out or interested me.

This was fine as background music while I was working but as soon as I paid any attention to it I was extremely bored.

Nothing to dislike here really, nice and chilled background music that plods along. Good to have on while working but wouldn't choose to listen otherwise 2.5

The vocals on some of this sounds like an animated villain I think this is just not for me

It's nice to "put on" but listened to about 1/3 of it & can't call it striking or essential (not enough to be "tango's revenge!). PS. Yet again, this ain't jazz, which was the project I requested.

Eh, as background music goes I don’t mind this. It was a more than adequate soundtrack to walking round Melbourne on a sunny day. I just struggle to understand how it’s a must-hear. 2.5

So, so

Previous Familiarity: None! Trip-Hop Tango. Sounds interesting right?!?! Well...yes it is interesting, on the surface, but really, it lacks soul. The dark mysterious aesthetic perfected by Portishead and Massive Attack is attempted here, with little success. Hell, there's even a Tricky soundalike that lends vocals to the 3rd track "Chunga's Revenge" and it just feels like a cheap ripoff. In fact this whole album feels like a cheap ripoff. I don't know shit about tango, other than its sex appeal. And, there is sexiness to be found in some of these grooves, but the out-of-place accordion-like jaunt of the bandoneon kinda gives me an uncomfortable visual: one of a sexy couple swaying and grinding on dimly lit dancefloor. However, in the corner lurks a creepy mustachioed old man pulling on his squeezebox with a coy smirk on his face when one of the dancers dips down low so he can get a show. Still interested? Neither am I.

Started out very strong with a great soundscape but did nothing interesting with it. Over stayed its welcome immensely.

Fine to listen to in the background. Slightly too long for my liking. Época Sounds like it should be the intro for French detective show. Odd album, won't listen again.

Interesting idea for a genre but a pretty dull execution. First track was alright but rapidly went downhill. Found myself a minute or two in before getting bored and skipping. Probably ok background music, but nothing more.

Starts off really promisingly but starts to feel quite samey really quickly

an album of songs that will inevitably be chopped up for rap beats, and be better for it

Varies between very exciting elevator music and the wii shop music if they sold dancing shoes in Latin america, I don't know who this is for

Soundtrack music & maybe even intended that way from the beginning. For 2001, this might have been somewhat original? I won't judge the group for the excitement this might have had losing its context. I will judge the list for including it. Even with the earliest edition of the book in 2005, this was not an album you need to listen to. music: fell asleep with the TV on. (⌐-_-)

Boy a lot of this is so cool and creative, shame the whole thing is set to Default Chill 90s Hip Hop Beat. That sound is pervasive on this list!

While what is here of the instrumentation is great, it's too little too often to fully get into. More instrumental layering would do wonders. The 3 remix tracks at the end feel super out of place.

Instrumental.

Tango and electronica sounds collide into a smooth mixture of sounds that wouldn't be uncommon for an upscale lounge or professional dance studio. It's accessible, and ahead of its time for being released in 2001. Today, it feels like the world has caught up to the album; turning this into another chill-hop tracklist.

Jade Goody

Foreign language music isn't for me but this one had some good music. I wouldn't listen to it again but it wasn't too bad.

Harmless, not offensive.

I think those scammers who “play” violin in parking lots use this album.

Picture in your head, what does a French music album sound like? It's this. This is the album.

Vähän tylsähkö levy. En ihan ymmärrä miten tää oli relevanttia 2001, tosin ehkä oli just siks. 2/5

Soundtrack for a movie where people are sneaking around (non-life threatening situations)

Elevator music

2. decent, but I'd prefer a pure tango album.

pas aimé ca

2 not for me

Like a hand rolled cigarette learned to tango and make overly serious expressions. Interesting in concept but after a few steps and side eyes you just want to set it on fire.

Production was good, but the vocals lowered the rating. The album also fell off on the back end.

Meh, not for me, it's okay background but I can't connect with it for several reasons.

Quite enjoyed it as background music for the first 20 minutes or so. But it's a combination of low-fi dance music and Latin, both genres that tend (for me at least) to get pretty repetitive pretty quickly, and it really does. 2/5, fine for background (and better than a lot of this kind of thing than we've had), but really nothing more.

Meh, ik word hier niet gelukkig van.

Not sure I liked this it seemed to just keep going not likely to return 1.75/5

Chill latin music which threw me off as the description said this was a French group. It was ok, but not something I'll likely return to. 2.5/5

Last Tango in Paris was good. Videogame menu music.

I've never heard of this band before, but this album was okay. It was pleasant enough to listen to, but nothing here really stood out at all.

Nope jsut didn’t click with this. Could of died without hearing French Nu-Jazz

Ok-ish background music

This is a cousin of hip hop: rather than writing music then adding a beat, it is clearly built by starting with a beat, then adding snippets of repetitive music phrases over it. It's tedious. It doesn't create a song, it's just an ambience masquerading as music. The ambience is reasonably pleasant, but I still hate it. Anyone with a computer could create this.

Not my thing. Too much tango, it just is a limited-applications/amounts listen for me.

The idea of combining tango and electronica is interesting, but the album turned out pretty boring. It seems both the artists behind this were electronic musicians, so the tango components were mostly samples. And in this case, the remix is not really adding much value to the originals.

This music was somewhat entertaining, more so as it went on, however I don’t understand how it’s considered influential. Towards the end I started to enjoy but I think it was much too long.

Never really elevated itself beyond occasionally interesting muzak, shame really but the more interesting bits never seemed to take it any further

Telephone hold music for the OnlyFans French office. "Votre appel est important pour nous. Montre-moi tes pieds."

Wow a rare album from somewhere other than the US or UK on this list. That's a win, but the album review also describes the songs as filled with blase variations on the themes. I think that's apt, but then why choose this album for the list? Pleasant to listen to, but very much background music to me.

Kinda boring

I got heartily sick of this after a while. Which is a shame, I don't mind a good tango.

Mmm... quite interested in this at the start....chill out electronica ...but the novelty soon wore off....especially that bloody accordion. Very French....very meh.

Music for latin themed cocktail bars in Bishop Stortford.

1.5 - another one that needs more fumph

ka, gut produced aber kann nit wirklich was damit anfangen

It's trying to be Latin, it's trying to be Jazz but it has no fucking heart so ends up feeling like I'm trapped in an elevator with Herman Chavez:- Muzak Magician Extraordinaire.

Sacré bleu! Not sure I was missing out on a whole lot when I hadn’t heard electronica/tango fusion. Some beats would start off okay and pull me in but I would be just so put off by that melodica accordion sound, and some other production that almost sounded like it was lifted right out of the Garage Band sound library. Didn’t really gel with this one but can’t win them all. Fave track: Tríptico

It is not the type of music that I enjoy listening to. Although it is good music.

It was nice to work to but I don’t see myself coming back to it

a whole album of background music, not really my bag

Good background music, but not something I'd choose to listen to

Listen to this album if you want to feel like an expensive chocolate praline trapped inside an advert, forever being licked in a sensual way by posh women. I have very little else in terms of frames of reference for the Gotan Project's "La Revancha Del Tango"- it's quite unlike anything I've had so far on the list, automatically lending it an enticing, enigmatic air. This perfectly suits the music running through the album, making it an intriguing listen... for the first fifteen minutes or so. The basic premise of the Gotan Project is a group of French musicians aiming to revive tango as a popular music genre for a new 21st century. They draw upon electronica, downtempo and trip-hop, yielding a smoky cocktail of mood music. Accordion and violin reign supreme, sitting comfortably alongside synthesised bass and programmed drums. I did enjoy the mood it got across, but ultimately "La Revancha Del Tango" becomes repetitive and a little dull. The electronic treatment doesn't offer much dynamic range, and the performances are measured and laidback, without a great deal of showiness or passion. There are some standouts- the breezy elegance of "Last Tango in Paris", the steaminess of "Epoca" and "Santa Maria", the relatively frantic, discordant piano at the end of "La del Ruso." It certainly isn't bad, and I appreciate that maybe in a different mood, I'd find a lot more to like in this. Today, though, it wasn't quite for me.

I enjoy some tango but I guess I'm not exactly ecstatic with this modern take on tango. It's fine, but I guess some classics shouldn't be improved on, especially if someone thinks that they can improve by using late 90s, very early 00's poorly aged beats and remixes. Also, the album is way too long given how mediocre the music is. 4/10.

just calm music with litl bit of tango.. plutot non

The most French thing since yesterday (https://1001albumsgenerator.com/reviews/63df2d468d721c1ef8f8e7b7), although the accordion merely accents the latin American tango rythms. A bit of jazz thrown into the mix too. Quite liked the simultaneous eclectic mix of genres within at first, but the novelty wore off by half way. Fine as background music. Rating: 2/5 Playlist track: Queremos Paz Date listened: 05/02/23

It was nice, I guess. Made me feel like I was in a fancy parlor or something. It is not something I would choose to listen to, though. Just my personal preference.

I'm sure it's for someone. Just not me

Interesting enough, but should be half the length

don't hate it

Tríptoco sounds like the music they play in DSW to make you buy more shoes. Overall kinda eh

Got kinda bored didn't get all the way through

Meh 1.8

pretty good

2.5 It isn’t bad, just none of the songs really stand out to me. Kind of dull.

Wrong list for this one

Dipping my toe into a new genre, this will be my first foray into Electrotango. Combining tango rhythms with electronic beats, we hear La Revancha Del Tango breathe new life into old styles. How does it fare? It's alright. A lot of Gotan Project felt like background music to me, soundtracking my morning as I eat breakfast and get ready for work. Reminiscent of menu music for a video game, perhaps. There were some interesting parts but nothing really stood out all that much. Pleasant enough listen but not something I would revisit.

Nice background music, lots of tracks sound the same though. Tough to rate. 2,5/5

I don't think that I would ever purposefully listen to this one again, unless it was playing while I was walking through TJ Maxx.

Good production, but didn't really capture me. I do like this style when it's more upbeat and in your face but this was more like gypsy elevator music.

It was only slightly better than I feared it was going to be.

Hmmm... another Latin album. Three of the last five. This one is edgier to me. They want peace. And they'll going south. Chunga had her revenge... and I understood every single word of that song! Amazing me! Why would there be more lyrics on the album cover than in the actual songs? hmmm

Bog house music with a bog French twist. It annoys me that any non-Anglosphere music here has to have the idiot author's idea of an exotic flavour. It can't just be good rock music or something. So there are no Noir Desir or Die Toten Hosen albums, because unless there's a ridiculous "foreign overtone" Dimery doesn't want to know about it. After all, how could you list a foreign-language rock band when there are only a kazillion UK rock bands and we haven't gotten through all of them yet?! Anyway, this was too boring and too long. 2/5.

Interesting stuff. Not quite for me, but nice to hear something different.

It's a win only if it makes me masturbate gloomily. Achievement unlocked!

Back in the late 90s and early naughts the Hotel Costes, Buddha Bar lounge music was all the rage and I bought a whack of these CDs. Gotan Project had a slightly different sound, with its Argentinian tango vibe. Someone aptly described it as Astor Piazzolla IDM Music. Unfortunately 20 yrs later it hasn’t aged well, sounding vapid and repetitive. This would be fine in a hotel bar or at a dinner party but I would want something more substantive myself. The cover of Zappa’s Chungas Revenge is also vastly inferior to the original as accordions and dance beats just don't capture the mood of Max Bennett’s bass lines and Zappa’s guitar.

Gran Turismo menu music

Sorry can't get into tango xD

I was starting to think there's something in the French water spurring interesting Spanish-language projects, but didn't sense its presence here. That's a shame, as the start was pretty strong, fading away into samey electronica.

Was ok, but went on for too many songs

Really not my jam

Not bussin

Didn't love it. Ok.

Elevator music. Pleasant. There.

Hahaha wow I know almost all of these songs because they play at the restaurant. I was laughing listening to this because one after another I was going, “Yep, I know this one too.” “Queremos Paz,” “Una Músical Brutal” and “Vuelvo Al Sur” (plus a few others) are probably among my most listened to songs of all time because they play every day at work. Honestly though the music itself is pretty cool. A lounge-y mix of Latin American music with French jazz but… I just can’t separate the music from how I know it. One day, years from now, this will be a 5-star listening experience for the nostalgia. It’s gonna bring back a lot of memories. But today I have to give it a 2 hahah

Funky but wouldn’t listen again

The guy that made this list was like fuck need to have a French album so he just put the most French sounding shit you ever heard in your life on it

Bit like lift music. Fine but who cares?

I mean, it's nice, but I feel like I'm in an overpriced fusion restaurant.

2.5 stars. Chill but forgettable

dude it turned to east coast rap part way through

long and kinda boring Brazilian electrobeats. the soundtrack to a boutique store that never sells anything

It’s wasn’t the worst instrumental album. However the Spanish and various changes in genre made it had to few cohesive. Some songs were more classical. Others were more funky or Latin. It wasn’t bad but still it that great. 3.3/10

Not for me

Judging from the reviews here, I thought I might really dig this but it was pedestrian at best.

There is some interesting stuff here, but not enough excitement.

My first reaction is, "What the hell is this?" 2 songs in, I'm still thinking that, but according to the album title it's "Tango" music, so now I know what the hell this is. But is there a point to listening to this if you're not dancing or watching people dance to it? It's fine. I mean the beats are fine. It's also another world language album, and I've already made myself clear that when albums come up like this, I am forced to focus more on the music, and these songs are quite rhythmic and repetitive likely for dancing purposes. I know a little Spanish, so I can make out some of the lyrics, but overall. I'm underwhelmed. This is basically background music to me.

Not very interesting.

Decent background music. Some tracks sounded like generic game menu music but others were a bit more catchy.

This was used for a dishwasher advert, and that fits

Mi ricordano quei gruppi ospiti nelle trasmissioni in prima serata italiane.

surprised this is 2001, seems ahead of its time. not my thing, but was a fun experience. probably won't go back so...

Meh. Just meh.

In Conclusione: A me sto disco ricorda due situazioni.

Much like Eno's album, this one absolutely fought my attention every step of the way, demanding to stay in the background. And it did.

Background music. Repetitive. Nothing captivating

Somehow cool and boring at the same time.

Inoffensive, but just kind of boring. 6.8/10

This album was a collage of electronic sounds tied to a jazz-like beat and a tango rhythm, with sprinklings of lyrics wherever necessary. Super interesting and fun to listen to for the first time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to something similar.

Honestly, the tones we're a little anxiety inducing at times. Not for me.

not that interesting

Just not a good mix of the different sounds. It’s missing vocalists, whether rappers or singers, to put more life out of this album, which is an hour of repetitive beats.

sounds very 90s, trippy dub mixed with tango, bit portishead. But also a bit elevator music/lounge music-y. Personally not a fan of the accordion or the vocals.

Knew the second song on the album, don't love the music

No pues no conectó...

Eh, not my thing. Partial listen 20/1/21

A crap shoot, a mashup of two genres that offer nothing better than listening to the genres individually

Is that the fucking Come Dine With Me music hahahhahaha

It’s not horrible. It’s just so, so boring. I wanted to be done three songs in, and I still had around an hour to go at that point.

This so not for me.

6/3/26. Have heard one track on this before. Although a different sound than what I’m familiar with, the tracks go nowhere and ends up being a bore. Can be nice to listen to passively but was left wanting more.

From Lizzy to this...!! It's not terrible, just not my thing. Some have described it as lift music but there is slightly more to it than that.

God this one has aged badly! Love a bit of Trip Hop, but with Tango? I'm sure that this felt very clever and sophisticated at the turn of the millennium, but it just feels a bit naff now.

I really struggled though this hour and a half - took nearly four days. I just can't stand it. Spaced out trippy tango. No thank you

Snooze... DNF

It’s probably ok background music, I guess, but I’m not sure why it’s here. But I guess I ask that anytime something electronic crops up. This is probably one of the more interesting selections from this genre, but I’m still not enjoying myself at all. 3/10

An hour of refined boredom, somewhere between jazz for elevators and Tango Nuevo clichés, with a touch of 1980s jazz-pop à la Matt Bianco – but the whole thing deadly dull. Even the cover versions of Frank Zappa’s “Chunga’s Revenge”, Gato Barbieri’s “Last Tango in Paris” and the inevitable Astor Piazzolla’s “Vuelvo al Sur” are of no use here. Muzak.

The only place that this music is acceptable is an outdoor marketplace somewhere in mainland Europe.

When is this done? Is it done yet? Ugh,

boring

I don't know why we talk about American cultural hegemony like it's always a bad thing.

Absolutely dreadful. Insipid.

nothing burger

I say 1 star but in reality this album did nothing for me. It’s not hatred, it’s no feelings. These songs never vied for my attention so they never got it.

it is not my kind of music at all :D

Mäßig

I spent a while trying to figure out when this album really started, until I eventually found out that it doesn't really start at all. I guess I don't really like Tango. Tango here mixes with the more conventional dance music like oil and water do. There was some great percussion throughout but it was ruined by the rest of the musical choices here. It's a load of scraps of what could be songs, I really struggle to think who this album was made for.

Bo-ring!

This is background music.

Glorified elevator music. Like, what.

I used to really enjoy listening to tango. Sure, the music is very unique, and the instrumentation isn't for everyone. I thought Astor Piazzolla was truly fantastic. "La Revancha del Tango" by the Gothan Project is just a tired imitation. I don't know if anyone would even want to dance to it, or if they'd just fall asleep standing up. I still think "Tango Nuevo" is great—to listen to, to watch the dancers, and as film music. What the Gothan Project has done with it is completely unnecessary.

😒 This album is in the Epstein files

I listened to it while working and it didn't bother me that much. But I can't fathom trying to really listen one hour and fourteen minutes of tango, honestly. Sorry.

not into it

“La Revancha Del Tango” can't quite decide whether it wants to offer the dance music that gives it its name or more relaxed electro beats. Ultimately, it fails to do either really well, and the result is simply inconsequential. This sets it apart from the similar attempts by Astor Piazzolla, which I “had the pleasure” of listening to a few days ago—I didn't like those either, but at least they were exciting and inspiring. Two of the songs are part of film soundtracks, and in fact, the Gotan Project's compositions are best imagined as background music for blurry camera shots through Paris at night. But I have no idea who needs an album's worth of “horizontal elevator music.”

The Gotan Project is how Len Houmous now refers to his 4th marriage. Mostly due to the amount of time he had to spend on sun beds with her. The quantity of crisp n dry ye had to buy was outrageous. He briefly became a sales rep to get a larger discount. 1.2 8/10 Last Tango In Paris

Not for me

I don’t know this, have heard of them but I wasn’t looking forward to an hour of tango. But this is tango with a modern twist, upfront beats & samples typical of 2001, first impressions I’m relieved. Mostly instrumental but a bit smooth for me, dinner party lounge music. ‘The bandoneón is used a lot in Gotan Project’s songs. This is the classic instrument of tango, and it has a very similar timbre to accordion.’ Yes there is lot of this and if like me you’re not mad on it then it gets a bit much. Yes an hour of that was directionless for my taste.

Nineties wine bar music.

not for me

This is the exact album that seemingly all restaurants in México played between 2001 and 2005, probably later. And for a reason. It's background music, nothing more.

Do people listen to this while they just, go about their daily lives? Who would have bought this on CD?

I liked the Zappa cover. Pity they learned nothing from it. Another hipster pretending to be inclusive but actually trying to show their special uniqueness. PAH. 1 star.

This simply violates my ethos for what an album is and represents. The only reason dance music was released on albums was because it was the only way to release music to the public for a long time. But there's no narrative arc, no emotional grounding, no connection between tracks...it's just music to dance to in the club. Which is fine, and the music here isn't inherently bad...it's just not an album, or at least not an album that helps to write the history of music, to me

Was not expecting that much accordion, which is really the only thing interesting about it. Very repetitive. Would I listen to it again: No

Giving crud cafe background vibes. Not a fan I'm afraid. Next please!!

My word this is dull. Shuffling beats, disinterested singing. Melodies that never start. Dreadful plodding and quite frankly annoying.

This album tries to mix traditional tango instrumentation with modern production techniques such as dub effects and sampling but doesn't end up accomplishing much of anything.

DNF. Don't know why this album was included on this list. 1/5

This is the 129th album I’m rating. I have no idea what this is but I'm always interested in French music so this'll be interesting. Adding to my Playlist - Nothing. Not Adding to my Playlist - Queremos Paz, Época, Chunga's Revenge, Tríptico, Santa María (del Buen Ayre), Una Música Brutal, El Capitalismo Foráneo, Last Tango in Paris, La del Ruso, and Vuelvo al Sur. Queremos Paz - This is not French. All in all I liked 0/10 songs. This is nothing like I expected, and it just truly awful. I guess I hate tango.

I still fail to see the point of albums where the music is solely intended to be danced to

What is the criteria for selecting these albums?! I swear a quarter of them were just what was cheapest in a Tower Records sale bin. If you like accordion and laid back lofi beats, this is your album. Otherwise skip it.

Mario Paint soundtrack, sort of.

having a hard time figuring out why I had to hear this album before I die. whole thing sounds like it could’ve been in goldeneye n64 if the game had a porno level

Unseasoned soup. Glop. Third rate Astrud Gilberto. Why can’t I review a Gilberto album instead? This jello doesn’t belong on any must-hear list.

A whole lot of nothing

Elevator music.

Add this to the long list of injustices by the French

why does this music exist

Another background music album that I don't care about or can't relate to. Strange that it's on this list in the first place.

Not for me at all.

Not my thing. For the right person, I’m sure this would be cool.

Just move on

Nah bruh

Not for me

The millenial easy listening/cocktail barsound craze with ethno-touch. kitch-dopehead Zeitgeist of that time. I don’t know why I hate this so much…

Boring world music.

Name me a good French artist.... go on then... Plastic B... Daft P.... Vanessa P... Jean M..... nope. Air! Yes! How about Metal Urban? Yes! Maybe the Gonad Project? Nope. It was a bit tedious wasn't it?

I keep failing to see whats influential about music that sounds so obviously derivative. Maybe i am just too old for this.

French lift music

What even is this? I did not enjoy.

Reminded me of soundtrack music. Not very compelling for me. I can respect the composition and some of the variance and creativity beat wise, but I’m good.

International musicians playing the bare minimum to make an album. It's bad when the remixes at the end are more creative than the actual songs...

Ho fatto fatica a sentirlo quasi tutto. Ottimi gli spunti pubblicitari ma anche no.

Not my thing

It's not even English!!

I don’t know why but it just bores the crap out of me

This was and excessively long (even without the bonus tracks), repetitive movie soundtrack. Many of the tracks sounded like knockoff Sade instrumentals with some electronics and accordion thrown on top. Not even close to deserving a place on this list. 1/5.

First listen Saved 0/10

This is the best French music ever made.

Elevator music, hotel music, fancy store music, restaurant music, DVD menu music. It's fine for that, but I can't imagine being passionate about this. It's just somewhat decent background music. You don't need to hear this before you die, because you've basically heard it before in hundreds of places. Also, why do people who make this soulless music think the songs need to be 5 minutes long at minimum? For what this is, it's OK and I could see giving it a 2. The problem is I could not give a shit less about what this is. Most electronic music sucks, but subdued electronic music is especially baffling to me.

Dull beats and dull instrumentals make Dave a not very happy boy.

Not for me, lift or on hold music. Favourite song: Couldnt pick a song I would like to hear again Least favourite: I could pick all of them but I thought Triptyco was very bad. Album artwork: nothing to report here

Yeah not really a fan

A bit boring, not my cup of tea at all

Not great

No va.

Not my choice

3/10 There is just nothing here. Did not need to here this before I die. Actually, Ive already forgotten it.

Default ringtone collection from the first Android smartphone your mom bought you in 2008

No couldn’t finish this it’s really not for me tbh 1/5

Gross, dude.

Repetitive and boring. Quickly turns to background/ambient music.

Monotonous - repeatative beat.

Not my thing

No thanks.

Not really vibing with it. Has the feel of a corny 90s heist movie soundtrack

This type of Starbucks coffeehouse "electronic" jazz music is just not my thing. I started it and tried but ended up just skipping through because I find it extremely boring. Nothing against the musicians, I'm sure they're great at what they do but I'm just not interested. Standout Tracks: N/A

repetitive good for background music, otherwise, nah

So these guys went down to Argos and bought a Botempi home organ and pulled their granddads accordian out of the attic and thought they'd make a frap album.... and here it is!

Hideous. I love jazz and electronic music - there is no love and passion in the way this man makes music. He's just churning something out.

I'm not good at the tango

Dull but I didn't get a great chance to listen so it may be unfair.

The fairly bland adventures of a man with an accordion and a man with a laptop. Leave it in the hotel lobby lads.

Another fucking awful instrumental album

Unfortunately many of the selections sound the same.

the accordion is the main instrument on the album 1.5

It's harmless stuff, but not very interesting to me. I'm not a big accordion fan, too, so that didn't help the cause.

Thought it might have potential, but, no.

This was fine tango music, but why is this one of the albums that I should listen to before I die?

It's hard to describe what it is that makes me love and hate this music in equal parts. I loved two songs on this... but it really doesn't matter which ones they were because they all sound roughly the same. Dramatic. Spain. Paris. Cafés. Theatre. That accordion-thing and some strings. The music is interesting, there's a lot going on here but this album fills me with anxiety after about 10 mins. of listening. I'm not sure what it is, but the first two mins. were very enjoyable. The balance of the album had me looking for a bridge to jump off of. In summary, I would rather listen to "Closing Time" by Semisonic on a loop than turn on this album one more time.

I liked Epoca to some extent. The rest wasn't that great.

really great elevator music

Only made it half way. Not for me.

Did not understand this at all. Not listenable through and through. My first big miss with this service.

not my thing

Don’t know why elevator music from 2001 made this list.

I just wasn't in the mood for tango

This is really not my jam. There was a song with this incredibly loud and piercing bell for some reason. No good para me.
