Surprisingly intolerable. People listen to this?
Insipid and tame. This made me feel bad about giving dizzee rascal only 1 star. Like a cover band at a wedding playing their original tunes.
Really don’t like this guy

Great album, very long. A few songs lost my attention as the album went on.
I was really struggling with this one. Why is shout so long and droning? Then the last 3 songs kind of won me over and I’m relistening. There are a couple of droners but I get it now. Down marks for the pain of sitting through "I believe" twice.
I like Funeral better! This one's always been pretty okay for me, but more of a subdued background sound.
Background music. Can’t get into it!
Solid. Toss up between this and White Blood Cells for my favorite White Stripes.
Pure 70s. I think I'd have to be in the right mood to really enjoy this. Mellow and sad?
The first few songs were really painful. The rest were standard cheesy dance tunes.
Fun funk.
Classic, lots of tracks I hadn’t heard since the 90s
I don't think I'd listen to this on purpose. Lacks the drama of rumors.
Eclectic, talented, anachronistic, but unfortunately not for me.
The hits are still great, the rest is some rough 90s filler
Not the most fun Elvis era, nothing special until Suspicious Minds which is SO GOOD
Lightweight material
So much pain.
I was understanding and liking this one much more by the end. Might be worth a relisten and jump a star later.
Cheese.
Fine, boring.
Pleasant
I was excited to listen to this one but it turned out to be boring and kind of excruciating.
Love that Iggy Pop energy
Cool to hear early Pink Floyd, but at times grating and boring.
Solid, classic
I can hear their influence in a lot of later punk bands, but not a lot of songs on this album that will stick with me.
First couple tracks were groovy elevator music. Last couple were torture.
Lazy
Great listen but not memorable tracks
Snoozefest
Not an ounce of talent went into this one
Not awesome
Blah. Some interesting vocals but mostly just blah.
Second half was rough. No standouts.
No feeling
The same song over and over
Chill.
A lot better than I remembered! No idea there were so many hits on this thing.
The last few tracks were really painful
Excrement. I'm embarrassed it's in my Spotify history.
Background tracks over background vocals. Boring
Heroes is such a great song. What is the rest of this doing around it?
I’m sure somebody enjoys this kind of drab. Not I
3.5 stars, rounded up because of the other bad albums I’ve gotten lately. Love the sound, somewhere between the clash and misfits. Not sure how memorable these songs are though.
But why
Of course
If I wanted a bunch of short stories about murder I’d read them, not listen to some poorly sung boring songs.
Fine throwback
The hits and some generic blues
It sounded like 2 people clapping at the end of each live recording. 2 very bored stars.
Not my thing
Dated
Chill
Not my usual jam but I liked it.
This made the 12 year old in me so happy.
Not a dancer but I was dancing
Hey it’s all those songs I didn’t know I knew
Good sound but where are the memorable tunes? Got worse as the album left, the end was real slow.
What’s all the fuss about
I hadn’t heard this growlier almost Tom Waitsish Dylan before, and it was awesome paired with the beautiful melodies.
Bland 80s
Why didn't I ever listen to this when it came out? I would have loved it.
Back to back to back to back rock solid hits
This could have been a 1 for the last couple torturous tracks. The album answers the question "what would it be like if Radiohead had far less musical talent?"
What cruel person would rate this fewer than 5 stars?
Some of this rocks surprisingly hard. But some of it is droning and boring, with a weak finish.
Zzzzzzzz
A prolonged bad joke
Solid
The lyrics are too funny to only give this 1 star.
Great sound, and songs don’t overstay their welcome. Obviously influenced by the Clash but I hear a lot of what these guys did in late 90s skate punk.
Great start then tapers off
Not my thing and the songs drag on way too long.
Psychedelic is becoming a red flag.
Not as terrible as a lot of the comments here said, but not my thing.
Not a big REM guy
I don’t get it
Seems like it should be my sort of thing, but was not my sort of thing.
Would make an excellent retro video game soundtrack
Chill, kind of washes over you
Undeniable pop, I guess
Standard fare
Background noise
Pleasant
The first half was rough, but I dug the second.
Started generic, became unbearable
I expected a more distinct sound
Not a lot there. Too low key for me.
Generic
Love me some DK
Can hear the influences, but don’t enjoy the album, nothing that would stick with me.
Surprised!
This stuff was funny
This chills me out
Garbage
Insipid and tame. This made me feel bad about giving dizzee rascal only 1 star. Like a cover band at a wedding playing their original tunes.
The highs are so high but too much meh
Like the sound but the songs didn’t hook me
Brilliantly tears down walls between genres and never feels forced or drawn out
Surprisingly dark, I only knew PG from his hits and they aren’t like this.
I think he knows what rock music is but not why it exists. I don’t feel anything listening to this. He sounds like a background singer on his own tracks.
Wildly unentertaining
Goofball cheese
All you 1 and 5 star-ers are overstating your case. Solid 3 star album. Obviously a big influence on what was to come.
Each track sounded like an intro track for a harder rock album, but of course the big hit never came.
Love the voice
These guys could pump out AC/DC or Zeppelin b-sides all day. Interesting to hear the intersection of these bands and the Beatles. Earnest and energetic but not enough to win me over for another listen.
Jammy background noise.
You can feel the energy in the room!
Starts weak, ends strong
Maybe I’m broken but this felt like an ice pick in my skull
Did each of these tracks come from a different album? I felt like I was listening to their library on shuffle.
Very Tom Waits
It was jazz and I didn’t hate it
Coldplay is the UK’s Nickelback.
When I’m a minute in and counting down 33 to go that ain’t good. Appreciate the short run time though.
The Last Resort left a terrible preachy taste in my mouth
Not for me
Barely noticeable album, kept forgetting it was on
It’s fine
I appreciate Jumi’s contributions and admire his skill and performances, but I don’t love his albums. Little Wing will always blow me away.
I had really listened to them before, it sounds like Smashing Pumpkins were heavily influenced by MBV. Nice grooves
Kiedis’s Law: there must be two Suck My Kisses for every Under the Bridge
The most basic of basic pop
The music is not terrible but the voice sinks it hard
Fine but a lot of sameness
Really don’t like this guy
Jazz, I just don’t get it. I thought John Coltrane was a name I’ve heard, this will finally be the “good” jazz that gets my heart pumping and has me listening for every creative twist and turn. It still just elevator music.
The last few tracks almost moved it up to a 3 but the first half was too annoying.
Finally answering the question “what if Radiohead were far less musically talented with unimaginative songwriting”
Background music from the Peanuts
Drone
Drone
Endless
Jammy snooze
Piece of shit guy UNGH Making piece of shit music UNGH
That voice has always killed me.
Safe, boring.
Surprisingly intolerable. People listen to this?
They hadn’t found their voice yet
Really cool sound, ahead of their time. Wish there was a memorable song or two to wrap my arms around.
Extra star for Come On Eileen
Lame.
Dated
Boring
So boring. Less awful than the other Elvis Costello albums this list subjected me to
Docked a star for excessive harmonica
Some great tracks mixed with dated-sounding ones
Obviously
Kind of liked the first track, then yikes. Incredibly uneven and incoherent in its terribleness.
I like the Cure but this was a boring album
Uneventful
Their usual over dramatic blah. Mysterious Ways is awesome
Suck it Dylan
2.5 stars rounded up. A whole album is a lot.
Didn’t click
Pleasant easy listen
A couple Tom Waits gems cushioned by generic blues
Why is this so good?
As bland as I remember it. Never understood the appeal.
A lot that I love and a lot that I don’t. A 5-star single album spread too thin over 2 CDs.
Less bad jazz. Still boring.
Generic music, grating lyrics
Less bad than I thought but F kanye
Overall pleasant but some extended ear pain here and there
Insidiously insipid
Insidiously insipid
Elevator music
Watchtower and Voodoo Child forgive all noodling sins
At least now I have an opinion about Algerian music
I might be grading on a curve because I’ve had some clunkers, but this was refreshing and chill
Why does this sound so terrible?
First half way better than the last, disappointed
Embodiment of the two star album. It just exists. Doesn’t annoy. I would never choose to listen to it.
Tedium
Yup it’s reggae
Their first three albums should be called A Sides, B Sides, and C Sides. Very little memorable here.
Nick Cave and the Worst Seeds
They recorded the backing tracks but forgot the leads. Pleasant tho
Would be better if she could sing better
I thought we had a solid 3 star album but boy did this one overstay its welcome
I will never forgive Fred Durst for killing fun 90’s alternative rock.
