Reviews (page 3 of 8)
I liked this way more than I thought I would. Listened to some of the songs multiple times.
Already like it. 4 stars?
Previously reviewed this as a 4 as I don't believe this is their best album. It is a great album, but a 4 is sufficient.
This is what the eighties sounds like. A Classic Album and a fun listen,
Really love the guitar solos! "Too Late For Love" and "Die Hard The Hunter" have some lovely passages; "Coming' Under Fire" as well. Some of the rock'n'roll is actually quite fun to listen to – I came to realize it isn't even really that over the top. Sick vocals. Was very pleasantly surprised! Someone's gonna kill me for this comment, but I thought that it would be awesome if Pink Floyd had made this album.
it was an ejoyable album; the rock was so cool and the guitars solo too, though it was a bit repetitive. i feel like it was a very original album with new things, for example the song Foolin' was so cool when they did the "F-F-F-F-Fooling" thing hahaha. id listen to it again to be fair. my favorite song was Photograph.
Old school rock. Solid album as well
8.5/10
4.2
Nostalgic butt rock. Not breaking new ground here but it's fun!
Oh wow didn’t think I’d enjoy it so much - going on my daily run feeling like a million euros. As I grew this band was written off as cringe in my mind but it’s actually just chill strong partying and good vibes. Not sure what the songs are totally about - didn’t get too deep but the music - oh yeah.
A little too consistent throughout, but at least it's consistently good.
Still sounds good to me after all these years
Some good ol polished and produced 80’s metal. All (or most) of the songs were seemingly hits. It was an enjoyable listen
Fantastic album! Feels like a greatest hits record. I’ve never really listened to Def Leppard except for the hits on the radio and MTV so this was a treat for me. I’m not being at all hyperbolic when I say the pre-chorus on Photograph with the cowbell is in my top five all-time rock ‘n’ roll song parts. I can’t help myself from making an evenly timed striking drum motion with my right hand every time it comes on! Super cool musical structure. Nothing cheesy about this album (we’ll save the cheesy review for Pour Some Sugar On Me), just really good medium-rocking early 80’s rock-n-roll / heavy metal. Def Leppard’s sound is very welcoming, not brash or off-putting in any way. This is one of those albums where I wish we had half stars, it’s a really solid 3.5 stars for me but I’m giving it an extra half star because it’s the first record my buddy Jim ever got. Oh yeah, and Joe Elliott…. 😍😍😍
adorable
I pride myself on my musical opinions and reviews, but not on this one. I *have* to give this pop metal album a 4/5 as much as I want to dismiss it. I loved this SO much as a 13 year old. The scope you see on the cover of the album actually had me in its sights: the “target” audience. I bought the album, the concert tickets, and the shirt. By the time Hysteria came out my musical tastes had changed considerably — but these songs still sound SO good to me. So for what it’s worth here is my very nostalgic, non-objective 4 Star rating.
reallly good
Heck yes, Pyromania is an absolute classic. This is not better than Hysteria, all cards on the table, but it is a necessary stepping stone so that Def Leppard and Mutt Lange could created Hysteria four years later. But Pyromania is still very good! Def Leppard has their most well-known line-up, drums and guitar on fire, a dynamite producer, and great lyrics. So many of these songs are absolute bangers ("Rock of Ages," anyone?) or have amazing instrumentals/guitar solos ("Die Hard the Hunter"), which solidified Def Leppard on the glam rock/metal scene.
this album has high energy!! it’s just good quality rock music from the top down. vocals, instruments, lyrics, everything!
Their music don't catches me any more in the same way as a teenager. But it's still a pretty good (stadium-)rock album packed with banger. Fun to listen to every time. 3,5
Good ol' Def Leppard
Every track is a polished, hairsprayed anthem—like someone bottled the sound of a lighter flicking open in slow motion. I saw them on this tour in El Paso, TX in 1983—Google the controversy that followed for some unexpected Def Leppard lore. No hate, though, and this is an absolute banger of an album, zero skips.
Great example of hair metal lots of energy and full of life.
This is one of those bands and albums that I always think I'll hate and then it's actually pretty good. It's just really catchy rock music without all the stupidity of hair metal.
Listened Before? Y This album is a hard rock classic. That's all there is to it. The writing, production, energy and performance are top-notch. Makes me want to just stick a fist in the air and crank it up! Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: Rock Rock (till you drop)
Has some bangers.
Ok good memories
This is probably properly a 3.5 but I'll round up here I think. It's fun, nothing super challenging or off the wall but it feels so "of it's time" I feel it's worth a listen. Some songs I'll return to off of here.
Another nostalgic album, taking me back to being 14 yrs old, being bullied in gym class for not shaving my legs above my knees, and just discovering Def Leppard by overhearing other girls talk about them during a bus ride home from school.
I'm surprised that this album is on the list as I've already had Hysteria, which is a more realized version of what they were doing here (with the sales to match). This is standard 80's pop hair metal done extremely well, even if it hasn't aged well. On second listen I think I understand why it sounds so aged now. The 80's was a prosperous, optimistic time and that shines through in the music. That feeling died in the 90's, and we're in a similar situation now. I imagine that if the economy was doing well this would hit better.
79/100. Pyromania by Def Leppard is a great heavy metal record and easily one of the high points of their discography. The opening three tracks are absolutely fantastic, setting a strong tone with infectious hooks and powerful energy. While the rest of the album may not always hit those same highs, it's consistently solid and showcases the band's signature blend of metal edge and pop accessibility.
Not sure this is entirely my cup of tea, but have to say this album feels quite well made and packs a punch. Doesn't overstay its welcome, and is crammed with multiple smashing tracks. The guitar sound is also really good and raw. First track 'Rock! Rock (Till You Drop)' reminds me quite a lot of AC/DC, probably took lots of influence from there. Weak 4!
It is very formulaic, some guitar riffs, boom clap drums and chant whatever the the chorus is. But it works. There is something fun and sexy about the music. Not as good as AC/DC but very similar sound. I think this deserves a four, it has everything needed there except some hit songs. I think "Rock of Ages" is the strongest song but it is not that great. It just squeezes in a weak 4, too bad "Pour Some sugar on me" is not on this record.
Girls in 1983 loved the shit outta this.
4.5/5 actually. One of the greatest glam rock records ever.
I unironically love the line "Rock of Ages, still rolling". The whole song is sung with such passion, everyone was into it. Pyromania followed by Hysteria is a pair of perfection.
Glam Metal/Hair Metal, whatever you want to call it, it started here, 100% 80s excess and power chords and the word rock really means fuck...
Good rock n roll!
Yay, it's my favorite '80s hair-metal group. Def Leppard has always managed to take one of my least favorite "scenes" in rock music and turn it into something I can genuinely enjoy. Because I mean, by the time these forty-five minutes were over, I was only a little bit agitated, which is good! And it does contain all of those typical tropes that I usually don't even like, the high-pitched screechy vocals, the call-and-response choruses, and the excessive "Rock and Roll" pride (which, to be honest I disliked the song 'Rock Of Ages' for that exact reason, too cheesy for my liking). But god, there are some great tracks and some borderline Iron Maiden-esque passages here, like with 'Too Late For Love'. I mean, Iron Maiden is obviously still leagues above this band, but it was a parallel that allowed me to enjoy this song and the whole album, nonetheless. 'Photograph' might be the band's sweetest track - who knew harmonizing the word "Photograph" over and over again could sound so good. 'Comin' Under Fire' was relentlessly catchy and really the perfect hair metal song. Just the drama in the verses created by the muted strumming and that group chorus - so good! I also loved the closer 'Billy's Got a Gun', a dramatic closer that seems to tackle themes of violence and crime. I mean, these guys are two for two at this point. Just the perfect glammy band. And I really do hate this sound, but these guys just make it work!
Don’t be Foolin’ and listen to this.
Quite like this.
I am a sucker for 80s hair metal-pop stuff. This is fun, the solos are cool, the vocals are tight. Not every song is a banger but it's enjoyable enough!
Really enjoyed it, some classic 80s metal tunes
It was better than mediocre. It makes me remember my dad who liked them a lot, so that is why it is ranked higher than it would have been on it's own.
3.6 One of the more surprising things for me from this list is I actually like Def Leopard. It's corny, it's cheesy, I wouldn't every play it out loud if anyone was in the vicinity, but there's something fun about a throbbing hair metal beat. Although not as polished as Hysteria, this is still pretty good, particularly the first 4 tracks. Tails off towards the end but is that the music actually worsening or half an hour of Def Leopard being all I can handle
Not their best album, but still a solid rock record. The poor reviews here are based on ignorance and poor judgement. Rick Allen didn’t lose his arm until December 1984, more than a year later than this was released. Coincidentally coming back stronger in 1987 with Hysteria. This album has been on lists of greatest heavy metal albums. It was a breakthrough for not only the band but for Metal. It’s enjoyable and easy going Metal, with energy and power. I go with a 4 because it’s not their best album for me.
Kind've a forgettable 80s hair metal album. Don't get me wrong, great band and great songs, good enough for 4 stars in my opinion. Just not quite on par with 5 stars given that it didn't leave a lasting impression.
Can you have a better run than Def Leppard in the 80s? This album is solid , solid!
🔥🔥🔥
Decent enough
Brit Rockers showing how mid to late 80s hard rock was done.
I can see where Gun's and Roses got their inspiration. Slick pop production heavy metal. It is driving, I guess it is a source for all heavy metal, cliches. Too Late for Love indeed. What do you want? I want 3.5 stars. Rock of Ages, as I listen to this 42nd years after its release, I feel rock is dead and this whole listening enterprise is an exercise in nostalgia. As I work my way through too much mediocre British pop, I find the interesting stuff is African or a classic 50's pop/jazz album I never heard. Maybe I've out grown rock. I never had a like for rap and always thought it generally lacked melody.
Rock on! Love the high energy these guys put out.
Blind album, know the hits and artist. Wow this was awesome. Not as good as Hysteria but still awesome.
heavy af
Geiler Pop-Metal. \m/
Okay, so I'm not a fan of heavy metal, and I was not looking forward to this after recently enduring two farcical albums by Metallica. But this record is great--as good as heavy metal gets other than peak Van Halen. I'd forgotten how many tunes off this album made the charts when I was in high school. If you're going to listen to music at the left end of the FM radio dial and to the right of NPR, Def Leopard's Pyromania is so much better than most of its ilk, e.g., anything by Stryper.
What a hair metal banger! 🤘 I know the Def Leppard hits, but it was exciting to listen to some of their back catalog and see that the have depth to their albums.
Are you getting it. I'm a getting it.
Don’t care, had fun
Pyromania is a monster. What it did in 1983 and paved the way for is probably invisible from most of the reviewers here who probably don't realize they were possibly conceived to this album. Did Def Leppard overstay their welcome? Yes.
Listened to this while doing Marisol’s rotors and breaks. It was great. Going to go back the last few songs again today.
Rockin out! Standout tracks: Photograph, Rock of Ages
Well executed 80’s pop metal. Musicianship was still a focus in this decade. Maybe that focus will return.
Classic hair metal
Muy bueno
It’s classic hard rock. Some fantastic and some just screaming! But I really enjoyed it.
4.25
This one was a lot of fun with some classics. So many great guitar melodies. Fun intersection of pop and heavy metal. It does lose some steam at the end after Rock of Ages but still a great album Rating: 4.5
good album overall, good energy
it’s exactly what you expect a def leppard album to sound like. works well for this fine halloween day
Another album of my mid-teen years that was on constant repeat. Just like Hysteria this one did not quite hold up to my same liking that I had when I was younger, but still got me going nicely. Def Leppard sure knows how to get the energy going. Photograph, Foolin, and Rock of Ages are some of my favorite songs though. I remember when I heard the beginning of Rock of Ages for the first time and was mind blown when I realized that Pretty Fly for a White Guy wasn't the original to use it. Certainly a pretty cheesy album and not as good as Hysteria but still worthy of a low 4.
the was good. I've never actually listen to a Def Leppard album cover to cover. is screams hair metal.
Def Leppard is an institution in metal and this album is their real breakthrough and where they found the sound and lineup that worked for them Standouts Too Late For Love Foolin' Rock Of Ages Action Not Words 4/5
Love me some Def Leppard
Classic album with some great songs. This one definitely takes me back.
Incredible album with a lot of amazing songs. Almost a greatest hits album
Great cheesy fun. One of the best examples of this sort of 80s pop metal I’ve heard. The album is packed with guitar riffs, dramatic hooks and shouted backing vocals. Perfect for singing along or banging your head.
Lots of 1980's classics in this one. "Photograph" "Foolin'" "Rock Of Ages" are three truly solid must haves on any 1980's rock rotation playlist. I hope we get their album "Hysteria" on here too. Awesome album, 4/5, timeless yet also a time capsule of the 1980s hair metal / hard rock.
Freakin solid album lotta hits all good jams. Little sissiefied from the previous work but still super enjoyable would return to.
I automatically hated anyone I saw wearing this t-shirt. I was 9 when this album came out, and all of those kids I knew were going to be cooler than I could ever be. And I loathed each and every one of them for it. This is it: ground zero for pop-metal fusion -- hair metal. In 1983, this set the standard for every hair band. Hysteria is going to remain the platonic ideal of the form, but this was the throat punch to the rock world that started it all.
Pretty good, was entertained the whole way through.
When the first song started I thought ‘god, not this generic zeppelin-wannabe pis again’, but the further into the album I got the more I enjoyed it. Interesting and unique chords and melodies in a very overplayed genre. Few songs are shit though.
Good album, lower end of 4 but still overall a good listen. Would listen again but not necessarily everything front to back and in order. Some familiar songs but some new ones as well.
solid 4
This is a really fun album but it's not quite brilliant the way "Hysteria" is. I just like their style a lot though, they're going for it. They have a good singer, good sound, nice pop sensibility, a bunch of incredibly catchy hooks, what's not to like? I hadn't heard a couple of the deep cuts on here before, but some of them ("Die Hard the Hunter" and "Action Not Words" in particular) are nice songs.
Hell yeahh Power chords & pre-pubescent vocals what’s not to like
Cool and cheesy and lame at the same time, great mix.
Excellent 80s pop-rock album. Only discovered Pyromenia after Hysteria had already come out, and the latter is still my favourite DL album, with Pyromania 2nd. vote: 8/10 (where Hysteria is 10/10).
Very strong album, though it did not impress me as much as Hysteria.
Amazing. It doesn’t deserve the ire for selling out, it stands well on its own.
Piacevolissimo, mi sembra strano dirlo ma molto più degli AC/DC
I really liked it! 4 stars
What a classic rock album. It’s exactly what I think of with Def Leppard and it was exactly what I wanted. Although in my opinion there is a lot of rock better than them, it’s just so classic and genuinely good tunes and ROCK, it’s hard not to love.
I owned this on cassette and probably bought it first week of release. Hence it's impossible to separate the now-reality of my listening to this album again from the nostalgia / memory of it / time of its release - i.e. this album was probably my 1983 soundtrack. Take me back to age 12 and i'd have put this as a 6 on a 5 scale. Although through today's ears the slickness (gang vocals sometimes/apparently upward of 80 bg vocal tracks(!), mechanized drums - probably one of the first albums to ever use drum samples like this? i.e. the snare is tough to listen to with no human variance at all; sounds like a gunshot) and clichéd hooks are probably the first thing I notice. Which admittedly is rather pissy, since there are undoubtedly great hooks and melodies with excellent pop songwriting throughout the album. Pyromania might have been the blueprint for mid-late 80s hair metal so you can either get angry at it/them for what it wrought or you can give it credit for being a catchy-as-hell and unique for the time pop+hard rock masterpiece - or acknowledge both can be true. I could never give this a 5 based on what I've been listening to since probably high school, but I'd be a cynical prick to not admit to having great memories of this album/time. Yeah it's dumb but man, it's a lot more *fun* than some of the serious(ly awful) indie/lo-fi drivel on this list and isn't that at least some of the point? For what it is, it really is a classic. 8/10 4 stars.
Very fun 80s rock album
Fun to listen to! Also: The beginning of the most iconic Offspring song is a sample from this album. My life is a lie!
Actually a really good listen. Maybe I'm biased because I had to listen to experimental German music right before it but hey whatever. I liked the more pop feel along with the traditional hard rock sound, especially when the keyboards took over and the vocals softened a bit.
Surprisingly appealing
Oh, Def Leppard. I've listened to plenty of Def Leppard's music in my life. I've never listened to one of their albums from start to finish, but I own one of their greatest hits CD's, which I used to listen to quite a bit. I've definitely soured on them though over the years; if I had a dollar for every time I've heard "Pour Some Sugar On Me," I'd be able to afford a physical copy of every album on this list in multiple formats. These days, I associate Def Leppard with the worst kind of people. Nothing is worse than seeing some boomer dance along to Def Leppard when some shitty cover band plays one of their songs twice a night at some hell-hole bar in the suburbs. These people would know more of the band's lyrics if they weren't too busy parroting the latest garbage they saw on Fox News. But I digress. I guess it's time to fire this one up and see if I hate it as much as I think I will. Well, I come to you now, hat in hand, to ask for forgiveness for my words above. I actually had a good time listening to this album, and I think it’s a great piece of eighties hard rock. I’m not a big fan of Joe Elliott’s vocals on a lot of this album, but the guitar melodies are really great, and Def Leppard has a sound that’s unique and also incredibly accessible. This album reminds of Metallica’s self-titled album, in that it took a somewhat niche sound to a wide audience, without sacrificing too much of its own roots. I was already familiar with “Photograph,” “Too Late for Love,” “Foolin’,” and “Rock of Ages,” but “Stagefright,” “Die Hard the Hunter,” and “Billy’s Got a Gun” were new to me, and I really enjoyed them. “Stagefright” had some great playing, especially leading into the chorus. The keyboards that played alongside them were great too (I had no idea Thomas Dolby was on this album). “Rock of Ages” had some great keyboards too, and “Photograph” had what was probably my favorite guitar parts on the album. There were a lot of little details that I’d never paid attention to before, like the flame crackling at the end of “Rock of Ages,” and the wind sounds on “Too Late for Love.” The backing vocals were great throughout the album, and they really helped create the band’s massive arena-rock sound. “Die Hard the Hunter” and “Billy’s Got a Gun” had the best lyrics on the album, and the instrumentals gave both of those songs a really haunting and dark tone that I’d never expect from Def Leppard. However, one of the biggest detractors for me on this album were the vocals. “Rock of Ages” and “Rock! Rock!” just feel like generic filler lyrically, especially when you compare them to “Die Hard the Hunter” and “Billy’s Got a Gun.” Also, some of the choruses on these songs just drive me bonkers, especially “Foolin’.” Every time that “F-f-f-foolin’” kicks in, I just want to scream. But the prechorus on that song is outstanding, with some great guitar playing, lyrics, and vocals. Overall though, this is a great album, and it was really fun to listen to through a pair of headphones. I really think FM radio ruined a lot of classic rock by playing the same damn songs over and over again, and it’s unfortunate that Def Leppard fell victim to that, at least for me. Mutt Lange’s production work on this album is fantastic, and this album is a perfect example of why Def Leppard was selling out arenas in the eighties, and why they still have a sizeable following to this day.
Def Leppard was not ever one of my faves, and still just doesn't quite grab me for the duration of an album. I hit single or two, sure, but for the long haul, it is just alright.
Oh, Def Leppard, look what you've done to this rock and roll clown. What's become their breakthrough album also became a sign of things to come; the kind that would steer not only hard rock into its sleek sheen moment in the sun but the band into an unexpectedly prolonged stasis where tragedy and triumph collided into becoming a runaway train. Yet Pyromania is anything but tragic, it is a full on blast of exuberant rock and roll that would leave one banging their head from beginning to end. Perhaps this is the only dose of Def Leppard one would need, maybe there can be a thirst for more; whatever comes from this, at least it wasn't time wasted. Favorites: Rock! Rock! (Til You Drop), Photograph, Stagefright, Too Late for Love, Die Hard the Hunter, Foolin', Rock of Ages.
3.5 - I dunno how I feel. I liked it and it was good, but was it actually good or just a bit generic? Very American though
I know that if I heard this for the first time today -it’s a 3 a best, probably a strong 2. But so many lifetime memories were made with this album playing in the background. It was the high school soundtrack of 1983/84.
Bello, bello bello. L'inizio è molto promettente, con una canzone giusta si becca le 5 stelle. Mi sa di no... Avrei inserito Hysteria al posto di questo...
I remember getting this (and then Hysteria) when they first came out and wondering what the rest of the world was waiting for. 12 months later.... Probably a 3.5 but just for giggles I am going to round up for a change. Because Photograph.
# Playlist track - Rock of Ages # Notes - Solid hard rock, from start to finish. - I don't really have a sin to take out any stars. It's a really good album. It's fun and energetic. It's just *not amazing*. - Had a lot of fun recognizing the opening from Offspring's Pretty Fly (for a White Guy) on "Rock of Ages"
Quite entertaining and catchy hair metal album :)👍
I did like this album. It's fun, it's upbeat. I enjoy melodic, dramatic rock the 80s. I don't know if I loved it, but it's a good, consistent album.
Classic hard rock sound where every song sound like it should be shouted in a football stadium. Had a lot of fun with this record, love the lead singer’s energy and the background vocals. Guitar work is impeccable and pure rock greatness.
It should surprise no one that Mutt Lange produced this record. He also produced "Back In Black" by AC/DC, which I ironically got yesterday. The guitar tone is on-point for Angus Young, mixed with the smoke-and-lasers of Van Halen, and the insane levels of horniness of both. You could be forgiven (maybe) for calling it "derevitive", but people overlook how difficult it is to write a good song, even if it isn't anything that breaks the mold. The songs last a bit long at time, and it might just barely outlast its welcome, but man, I am not strong enough to yell "I DON'T WANT YOUUUU" during "Photograph". Favorite tracks: "Photograph", "Stagefright"
. This is probably as good as hair metal gets. The song's been suck my head since I finished it
Funny 80‘s Hard Rock. 7/10
Music, like art in general, is of course subjective, and people will have different opinions when it comes to it. That being said, people trashing this album know fuck all about music
Someone already said "big dumb fun" and I can't think of a better review.
dude, Def Leppard rocks. i really enjoyed this album. i like the hair metal scene. i like this vibe. this album just rocks all the way through. i recognized photograph, which was a dope song. rock of ages clearly has made history with becoming the title of a broadway play... and also the intro to that song was clearly taken up by The Offspring for their 'Pretty Fly for a White Guy', so its easy to see the impact they have had in the music scene. fire album
Du gros fun contagieux, des refrains mémorables.
I love the vibes. They’re camp-y and catchy and perfect for the summer.
Nice, energetic opening song. Really fun album. Some interesting war imagery. Will have to do research on those songs. Too Late for Love is my favorite song on this album. Really good energy throughout. Not boring to me at all. Really, really strong finish with Billy's Got a Gun.
This is a rocking hair-metal staple, it’s a total riot the whole way through. Just over the top cheese and charm in equal measure. I’ll always have a soft spot for skiddy 80’s rock like this. Hysteria is their better offering, but Def Leppard rules. I love these guys.
This album a little bittersweet for me. On one hand, this album was huge my sophomore and junior years in high school. Pretty sure every road trip for our baseball team, this cassette (yes, I said cassette) was constantly played in a boombox. We always traveled with the girls softball team too and that was really cool because my sister was star softball player. But this album makes me think of some many good times and people from high school. I know a few us went to see them at Joe Louis arena in August of 83. Now I say bittersweet because Def Leppard was just coming off the high and popularity of their best album they have ever made and this is High 'n' Dry. And at that point, they were a rock n roll band. This album is the beginning of their cheesy rock pop to appeal to the masses. Yea, they sold their rock n roll soul to reach a greater audience and while I think this is a very good album, they were no longer the headbangers I grew to appreciate with their On Through The Night and High 'n' Dry albums. Back to this album, again, many wonderful memories associated with this album and most of the songs are decent tracks. No doubt the best song off the album is Photograph. And after seeing Miley Cyrus sing this at the Taylor Hawkins tribute show, will always hold a special place in my heart....damn I still tear up a bit thinking of his passing. Anyway, Miley explained why she sang this, even playing the voice mail from Taylor where he explains she would kick ass singing this tune. And she did and she did it for Taylor. She released the voice mail and it's out there somewhere on the internet so you can hear for yourself. Back to Pyromania, very good album. Too Late For Love makes me think of Becca and Chris from high school. The entire album makes me think of the baseball/softball team bus trips and summer of 83. Some very good times and solid album. But this is the beginning of the end of me being a big fan of their music. After you listen to this, go check out High 'n' Dry. They should have stayed a rock n roll band, but I'll still give this album a solid 4. 4
LP
My parents bought me this album when it came out in 1983. Everything this band did after this is insufferable fucking garbage, but I think this album really holds up.
A couple of really strong songs helps lift it
Glam metal, pop metal, hair metal, cock rock, butt rock. Whatever you want to call it, this music is fun. At some point people decided rock stars partying and sleeping with women was a bad scene. I disagree. And this is good.
Way better than I was expecting. Butt rock doesn't all suck.
Rock, rock, til you drop?? Don’t mind if I do! This album made me want to play hooky. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I thought Def Leppard was just a band you heard at… well you know. Anyways this was great, will def revisit.
Man, I forgot how much I love Def Lep. I think hysteria is a better album but this is great. A few notes: - such a bold move to include a two exclamation points AND parenthesis in a song title. Crazy how much Rock! Rock! Sounds like AC/DC - photograph is a great song. Love the main riff and then when the chugging rhythm guitar comes in. They were brilliant at layering. And some good cowbell. Miley Cyrus has a great cover of this song. - Too Late for Love has everything you want in a cheesy 80s hair metal song. Foolin’ is even better and brings back the cowbell. - Rock of Ages. More cowbell. I love this song. The call and response where the band goes “I want rock and roll” and the third time when Joe Elliot goes “you betcha” is when of my fav song moments. - I did not know that Billy had the gun first. Needless to say, I enjoyed this album. A strong 4 from me. 🤘
Can't say glam metal (or however you want to define their music) is my favorite style, but dang do some of these songs slap. Not a 5* for me, but a very strong 4*. Photograph, Too Late for Love, Foolin', and Rock of Ages are just too much fun. 4/5
Def Leppard songs were such a mainstay of high school dances in the 80s
Piacevolissimo, mi sembra strano dirlo ma molto più degli AC/DC
Album Nr. 83 Einfach ein gutes Rock-Album.
I accidentally started out listening to the wrong Album. Rather than listen to Pyromania, I listened to the first half of Hysteria (the one with Pour Some Sugar On Me on it). After listening to hit after hit, I was really disappointed that I had to shift from Hysteria to this album. I came in not expecting much, but began to realize that I knew more off of Pyromania than I thought. "Photograph" is an all time classic (second best song titled Photograph right behind Nickelback). "To Late to Love", and "Rock of Ages" are both great. Overall a solid album.
3.5, but I'm rounding up to 4. I'm being a bit generous here, I think, but I enjoyed it.
It's good ol' fashioned rock with a bit of a metal feel and pop sensibilities. This is like the musical version of a greasy diner hamburger, and I don't mind that one bit.
Fabulous 80's pop/metal. Hair band excellence. Apart from the known tracks, the others flow and fit nicely in the overall work.
Photograph is one of those songs that I will stop and listen to if it comes on the radio (do people still do that?) but I have never owned this album and always felt it was mostly commercial product. I guess I still do but I can appreciate the sounds and the production, especially the "whoosh" of the drums and the backing vocals. The production is the real star here. Can't really comment on the actual lead vocals because they are so processed. And the songwriting seems pretty basic. Cheesy? perhaps. A cool sound? definitely.
Gotta love this 80s sound
Couple songs I knew, overall a really fun listen. The excess of 80s hair bands but some real subtlety hidden there
Sheffield Hair Metal that was world conquering. You can taste the hair spray in your mouth, you can hear the shredding on guitars, you can hear terrible lyrics that you can help but sing along to, you can smell the sweat of a one armed drummer. What's not to like?
Really enjoyed this one, full of bangers
Whether you like them or not, there are certain bands who were around and did the right thing at the right time. Def Leppard is one of those. Truth be told, before today I had never heard a song from this band. It’s possible that I might have been actively avoiding them, but that was probably back when I refused to give any music from the 80’s a chance. But I’m a different person now. And although their music might not be the most critically acclaimed when it comes to music nerds, people love this band. AC/DC falls into the same category. And I can’t deny the small part of my heart that has a real soft spot for this kind of music. Because when it’s done right, it hits in a way other kinds of rock just don’t. It’s basically guilty pleasure music. And I like this. Plain and simple. This is like if Bon Jovi was bigger and better in pretty much every way. More interesting music, less repetitiveness, more skill from the band members, and the lack of a voice that makes my ears bleed. I don’t think you should expect anything too complex or mind blowing. But I was actually surprised at the level at which they are playing at. Especially the drummer. This will also come into play in a future review, due to tragic circumstances that take place later in his life. This is some explosive, over the top 80’s rock music that borders on the theatrics of glam rock. If you like hard rock, you have probably already heard this. If not, give it a chance. Rating: 7/10
Classic hair metal
It's a little difficult to listen this album because this kind of 80s rock is so cliche now. The defined guitar riff, the strained, loud vocals, the themes of partying and lost/found love. They are all present. It's a cool album to listen to and I'm not sure how era-defining it is, but it certainly ticks all the hallmarks of 80s metal bands. Also, I had no idea the opening german gibberish from “Pretty Fly for a White Guy” was from “Rock of Ages!”
\"Pyromania\" by Def Leppard, released in 1983, is a quintessential hard rock album that epitomizes the sound of the '80s. It's an anthemic, guitar-driven powerhouse that solidified Def Leppard's place in rock history. The album features hits like \"Photograph\" and \"Rock of Ages,\" showcasing the band's knack for catchy hooks and memorable choruses. With its polished production and melodic sensibilities, \"Pyromania\" captures the spirit of the era. Earning a solid 4/5, this album is celebrated for its impact on the glam metal scene and its enduring popularity. While some may find it emblematic of a particular time, there's no denying the infectious energy and craftsmanship that make \"Pyromania\" a classic in the hard rock genre.
What's not to like? I especially like the drums in "Photograph." All four of the songs I recognize from rock radio I now know are Def Leppard songs. Prior to today, those songs were in the "Unsorted Rock, 1980s" pile. Thanks, 1001 Albums Generator, for forcing me to ID a handful of that very big pile of generic rock music. 3.5 rounded up to 4.
Love it!
I think Hysteria is a classic, but Pyromania blows it out of the water. An absolutely massive sounding and still killer hard rock album with unforgettable hooks and tight performances throughout. It’s pop, it’s rockin, it even still has a touch of metal. Cannot recommend it enough. A-
Meh
Kind of wish now I had heard this before Hysteria. I knew the story of Def Leppard mostly from the episode of Classic Albums where they touch on this one a bit, then what happens with their drummer and how they had to adjust for the next album. I enjoyed this a lot. Hysteria is still top though.
Those bombing 80s pop rock songs you hear in stranger things. discovered that these kind of mucus actually is pleasing to my ears
Kickass album
Quite ok with it
Big fan of this record. Before Def leppard went soft
This one is good but a little generic. It seems like all rock artists of this time have a similar voice, ac dc, led zepplin, def leppard. I think I prefer Led Zepplin over Def Leppard. Its 3.5 stars but its closer to 4
Classic hair metal. "Photograph" was the best, most popular song on the album. Not as strong as Hysteria but I'm a sucker for hair metal. 7/10.
It's a very fun album, and I find that I've been enjoying listening to these classic rock bands in standalone album form. I've heard them so much on the radio as a kid, that it can take a different context to engage more with the music as more than just background noise.
It’s exactly what I expected. Doesn’t make it bad though!
Favorite Tracks: Foolin’ Rock of Ages Photograph Too Late For Love
This an amazing Hardrock album, almost complete despite some not so good songs!
I will never not laugh at the joke, “what has 9 arms and sucks? Def Leppard” it’s just cynical and snide enough that it brings a smile to my face. This album, on the other hand, is really good! Found myself rating most songs 4-5⭐️s. Catchy vocals, great guitars and fantastic use of the cowbell. Some of the lyrics are a little trite but it’s pop rock, what do you expect?
Just rocks. Photograph, Rock of Ages, Foolin, and Too Late for Love make this album great. Try listening to the opening riff of Too Late for Love.
so much fun.... i could not do it every day, and its no background music..... but it certainly is pretty great stuff.
It's Def Leppard innit. It's the bollocks. Photograph and stage fright are bangers. \m/
really enjoyed this one. a lot of the songs were hits.
Did I just become a fan of Def Leppard!? "Is anybody out therrrre!! Anybody therrrre!!"
Consistent excellence. But not quite 5.
3.5/5
Outstanding. A true classic of its era. A Ton of great songs. 4.5/5
pretty good overall. i wasn't born when def leppard were popular but I don't understand why they seem to get way more hate than other similar bands from the time. this album has a few classics and I didn't hate any of the tracks, so I guess that's notable for some of these 1001 albums. i'd definitely revisit this, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars (it's honestly a 3.5 like so many others to me) favorites: foolin', rock of ages
A really great album. Just terrific rock!
This album was such a juggernaut when it first came out. Pyromania was everywhere for years, and Def Leppard really changed the way rock music sounded for much of the 1980s. It's practically a perfect album in a number of ways, with tight arrangements, slick production values, and an innate melodicism and pop sensibility that you rarely see in metal. Not to mention, this album simply rocks hard. It's an album full of big, swaggering, take no prisoners anthems that are also incredibly fun to listen to. That's incredibly hard to do and DL makes it seem so effortless. A high 4, not quite a 5. Fave Songs (All songs, from most to least favorite): Photograph, Too Late for Love, Foolin', Rock of Ages, Billy's Got a Gun, Comin' Under Fire, Die Hard the Hunter, Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop), Stagefright, Action! Not Words
Quite nice accessible hard rock
def leppard funker bra
Heard this one before. It's the typical 80s pop glam metal. Not really my taste but nonetheless it's a good album. I'm still sticking with my opinion that it's pop that's trying to hard to be heavy. I rather listen to heavy metal like Iron Maiden or thrash metal like Metallica from this era. The album cover is heavier than the songs.
Enjoyed it much more than I was expecting. Will definitely listen to this again.
Rocktastic.
Heavy metal. Ningún megahit. Un 4.
Much more fun than i thought it was gonna be
not a particularly inventive album but does the 80s hair metal thing as well as anyone
My favorite Def Leppard album with my favorite song of theirs. There are a few great tracks, and it's in that sweet spot between the rougher previous work (High n Dry) and more poppy later work (Hysteria). I really enjoyed giving this a listen again after all these years.
I think I heard one good one. I’m just here for the recommendations
Classic
This is a tough one. I do not like Def Leppard. The best Def Leppard album is still Def Leppard. However, I could see what they were doing, and it was successful. Adding a star for the last few songs. Removing a star because it’s still Def Leppard.
- Your standard 80s rock, but honestly this shit bangs - Good music to headbang and drink a beer to - Loses some steam in the second half, 3.5 but I'll round up - Too Late For Love, Photograph, Rock Rock
Cheesy pop metal from the 80s? Yes. But such a guilty pleasure
Great 80's hair metal album. Mostly hits, some misses. Overall really good.
ALBUM RATING: 4.0 ALBUM GRADE: B+ TRACK RATINGS: 1. Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop) - 4.0 2. Photograph - 4.0 3. Stagefright - 3.5 4. Too Late for Love - 4.0 5. Die Hard the Hunter - 4.0 6. Foolin’ - 4.5 7. Rock of Ages - 4.0 8. Comin’ Under Fire - 4.0 9. Action! Not Words - 3.5 10. Billy’s Got a Gun - 4.0
Fun album! Like a mix of Iron Maiden and Bon Jovi! Entertaining and catchy songs, however overall not as great as Hysteria
I remember when I first getting this. It was one of a bunch I got from the Columbia House Records & Tapes club. (You remember the Columbia House Club, right folks?). It had to be around 1985 or so. I liken this album to Rush's Permanent Waves. It was the stepping stone to their next album which became their biggest album of all time. (I was never a big fan of "Pour Some Sugar On Me," but I think it was just overplayed.). I don't think I have listened to the album since I was a teenager. So hearing it again made the years roll back to that time. I mean yeah, "Photograph", "Rock of Ages" and "Foolin' " are well-known hits for the band. Hard to believe that this was only their third album. I kinda feel that this album was the precursor to "Hair" metal (ugh, I hate the name). Probably one of the songs that is really underrated is "Stage Fright". Wow, I forgot how much I liked that piece. And "Billy's Got A Gun" had its own little bonus track. The expanded edition has a great concert to it as well. Maybe it's just me being nostalgic, I really enjoyed the album and going back to that time. But I can see how others may not be big into it.
So what should I be more embarrassed about? My love of hair/glam metal or my love of emo rock. Both I am willing to rock out on my own but damned if I let anyone catch me doing it. Although, rocking out to hair metal via karaoke seems to be acceptable and widespread, so I guess Def Leppard goes in the less embarrassing category. I still think Hysteria is the superior album and I gave that one a 4 so this one can't come in above it. But it was almost as fun. Some fun tracks that I didn't really know well beforehand are Rock! Rock! (good opener), Stagefright, and Die Hard the Hunter. Never loved Foolin or Rock of Ages as much as others (still fine) but Photograph slays every time.
4.0 - Def Leppard experienced considerable backlash along with most hair metal/arena rock acts that preceded grunge rock. However, I think DL was unfairly lumped in with a slew of lesser bands like Ratt and Stryper. It's clear that their output transcended their milieu and I'm happy to still hear "Pour Some Sugar On Me" played frequently on the radio. I like all the elements on this record, particularly the intricate guitar work that help elevate songs like "Photograph", another radio mainstay from their catalog. There are also big, glam-y choruses throughout (e.g. "Too Late For Love") that make this record so listenable and catchy.
Really liked it, many great songs, especially great Rock'n Roll.
I actually really liked this one. Photograph is fantastic and the whole things got a lotta energy.
Classic 80s rock.
- I like Too Late for Love - Listening to it without the culture and other influences of the 80s in concert makes it difficult to appreciate the overall album, I think. Everything I listen to these days is so different than 80's rock I think it's tough for me to compare the impact of this album to something I'm more aligned to. I definitely need to be in a mood in order to appreciate it.
Great glam metal hard rock album, has all the riffs and wailing and chorus back up singing you could want. Can see why they were so popular and it had me tapping away the whole time, nearly no dull spots here, its balls to the wall from soup to nuts.
loud and proud of it
Just about gets a 4. It's good but outside of the hits it's kinda dated generic 80s rock. The hits are very good tho gotta say
That was banging
Guilty pleasure of mine...kind of love the pop metal sound. Foolin, Photograph, absolute bangers. 3.5/5
A little bit of a downer
Disco de rock ochentero, clásico, sin grandes alardes. Buena voz y buenas guitarras. Alguna canción bastante conocida
bro this is just the quintessential 80s glam rock idc what anyone says it's good as hell
Pretty good. A little too glam pop metal for my tastes (they did more or less define the genre), but I still liked it. Was good enough to make me listen to some of their older albums, which I did not enjoy. Possibly some of their work after this one will be decent.
The J-LO of butt rock, would listen to again!
A lot of fun. Love the vocal harmonies.
Starting to show its age but still a lot of fun to be had.
Could listen to this all day but even then it falls short of Hysteria
Never listened to this before but it’s pretty good!
Not as fun as the other one. Best track: Photograph
I'm not really sure if this qualifies as heavy metal and maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much. It feels more like pop-rock wanting to be heavy which actually works well.
This is a fun album. Well produced and good head banging for young teens. It's a bit repetitious in style but great for radio or a DJ picking out a few tunes at an event. I rank this between 3 and 4. It's very commercial and easily accessible to the masses. So I give it 4 for being a smart production. "Foolin'" is my favorite as it was always a crowd pleaser at school dances back in the day.
Apart from "Photograph," which has a discernible story in the lyric that's actually pretty well done, this band has created an empire on songs about nothing in particular. And still, somehow, a lot of them are really pretty good. They certainly sold a lot of albums and half of these songs are embedded in our music brain. "Rock of Ages" stands as this album's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" in its free-word-association, to hell with a narrative attitude. "Rock on (rock on!), drive me crazy, yeah! No serenade, no fire brigade, just a pyromania! Come on!" Made for arenas, every recorded note meticulously pored over by Mutt Lange and the band, using synth drums (kinda) in a hard rock band (and this was before Rick Allen's loss of an arm and impossible return to playing), this was a deliberate effort to take over the radio (and video) and it worked. In the process, there are a host of legitimately great songs, and a handful of less impressive ones, but damned if the band actually has anything to say. They have a sound, and they work it over and over and over. I was a bit preoccupied by the lyrical content on this listen, and in the last tune, had to ponder whether Joe Elliott and co. think "danger" is an emotion. "Can you feel it in the air? (There's danger in the air) / Danger (such a strange emotion)." Whatever. I don't think making sense is on the list of things this band cares about. Rock on.
What great sound! None of the melodies in this one blew me away, but I completely understand the draw
It might just be because I’m in a different mood but I didn’t find this as good as hysteria and thought it was closer to the lame dad rock Def Leppard music is stigmatized as. That being said it’s still fun and songs like photograph and rock of ages were fun so there epic streak of good albums continues. I was also surprised to hear the pretty fly for a white guy intro sound effect on here.
Is it just me or does it sound like the drumming is missing something?
This is a nice fun album
No notes!
good stuff. reminds me of coheed.
Bought this album in basic training. So many great classics. It was the pinnacle of 80's hair metal. Likely it's demise as well as it spawned bands like Firehouse, Steelheart, and Gypsy Rose. As Sarah Lynn would say, "That's too much, man!"
This album was alright. There was no individual song that made me pog, but overall it was a vibe. Seemed like classic rock and rock to me. Favorite Tracks were Track 1: Rock Rock (Till You Drop) and Track 7: Rock of Ages.
Award winning, Grammy nominated, shop tunes album
Haven't listened to Def Leppard in a while. Weak 4
Decent for what it was. Just background tunes to blast while you do other stuff. Soft 4 from me
Fantastic album. Photograph is a hit.
Absolute banger from beginning to end.
\\m//
Really solid, if a bit formulaic, hard rock/hair metal from a peak moment in the genre's history. Easy listening for metalheads.
Brilliant at the time although only on cassette.
The first songs have some very interesting, high energy, rugged vocals (I didn’t know this is the album of Photograph). Personally I found that the latter part of the album was really nice as it slowed down a bit and was less focused on the high energy hits. 3.5/5
Niet volledig geluisterd maar leuk van wat wel
Way better than I thought it would bem really enjoyed it. Brian was not impressed with my one armed drummer Trivia. It passed the Alice test as she stayed in the room the whole time. How long until Brian blasts this during a workout in the garage?
Good good album. Great.
I’ve only heard the 3 big songs (Photograph, Foolin’, Rock of Ages) a thousand times on classic rock radio, and there’s not really any surprises outside of those. Without listening too closely, Track 1 might as well be AC/DC. “Stage Fright” and “Too Late for Love” are pretty hooky & catchy, I might even like the former more than “Rock of Ages”. Despite my own musical interests drifting away from 80s hair/glam metal as of late, I’m happy this list led me back there. November 16, 2022
Nothing special - I enjoyed it but it’s a low 4 star album.
I really love this album but objectively it's a 4* due to a few filler tracks
When this album came out it was so unique and amazing. I have heard it SO many times over the years. I think it is still great, but maybe not as great as I thought it was in the 80s. 4/5
Great 80s rock... Photograph is fantastic. I hadn't heard anything else on this album before.
If you want a definition of 80s rock, this is it for me. Not an album I would put on very often but I really enjoyed it. Favourite songs: - Photograph - Stagefright - Rock of ages
A classic of the hard rock sphere. Can't help but love it!
Rating: 8/10 Best songs: Rock rock, Photograph, Too late for love, Foolin
Loved it! Can’t go wrong with most 80’s music!
Riffs kick ass
Just a bit of fun
Hysteria was my first introduction to DL as a teenager, but this album had the hits that I kept coming back to as an adult. The rest of the album is a bit of a hard rock/pop metal hodge-podge, and it’s still a wonder to me that the percussion sounds here (done by a drummer with two arms) sound very much the same as Hysteria (done by a drummer with one arm).
It may be unfair to say that Robert "Mutt" Lang did for Def Leppard what he did for AC/DC. However, in both cases he took the bands standard material, pushed for a higher overall quality (and some writer credits in the process) and made it sound huge. In both cases it was enormously effective. Essential hard rock power pop (even for those like me who don't love the genre).
30th September 2022 Listened during the day while working from home. Went out for dinner at Bhoomi for our birthdays. Love a bit of big hair glam rock and Leppard deliver it in spades.
Pretty damn good
Lil strange, but good
Grew up on these guys. Still a good listen
Catchy tunes and an energetic band aside, Mutt Lange is an absolute genius. His talent and perfect timing pushed all the right buttons right when the rock world needed it. This album still holds up in the 2022s. Some of the songs come off as pure cheese, yet...I would be remiss if I didn't give this 4/5.
What do I say about this? It's not metal, but did it claim to be? Kind of? This is pop glam. And it's pretty damn good for what it is. I have no problems with this being a fantastic example of it's genre and time.
4/5 Ich kenne das Album schon. Bin trotzdem hyped
Pretty solid, I can see why these guys were so big in the 80’s.
A fine hard rock album. Not a huge fan of Def Leopard, but I certainly appreciate what they do.
Cool upbeat rock, if we’re limited to 1-5 stars exactly and if the ‘like’ range will generally be 3 or 4 this is definitely in the 4 category. Enjoyable and entertaining
Solid classic rock goodness. Kinda surprised to see this was 1983 by the time Def Leppard was apparently making themselves more "radio-friendly", but my '90s kid brain has a skewed perspective of where music friends fall on the timeline, I guess. Hopefully there's some earlier Leppard in the 1001 for me to compare this to.
Hard rock pure sang.
I find this album a bit tough to rate. It's a fun album to be sure, with several radio hits, and a collection of lesser songs that hold up pretty well. I think it's also possible that this album is culturally significant, in that it was one of the earliest works that made the metal genre palatable to the mainstream, though there were also many steps in that process. I don't know how actually groundbreaking this album is, in that it presented a more mainstream version of a genre that was already well on its way, but I also don't think that pop music should be scored more poorly just because it is easier for lots of people to enjoy. It's fun, it's worth a listen. You're probably not going to learn anything about the metal genre from listening to it, but that's also probably not why you are listening to Def Leppard in the first place 4/5
Awesome slice of '80s metal!
I really liked this. Didn’t expect to.
I figured this would be some tired dad rock bullshit given the repetoire of these bands but it's pretty fresh. It's got way more replay than I expected.
7/10. Continually taken aback that I like Def Leppard. That said, this album had some issues, namely that two songs tried to have a runtime well over 4 minutes, which is way longer than I want to listen to a single Def Leppard song.
Pretty much what I’d expect. Corny but fun, easy to listen to but not a lot of depth. 7/10
very good
What an absolute monster. Great 80’s rock riffs and sound.
Nice to hear a Def Leppard album. The only time I saw the band was in 2006 or so. I was in the front row and center with a buddy and ended up partying in the hotel room with one of the guys from the band in New Orleans. It was an epic and unforgettable night. I enjoyed this album quite a bit!
This album is great! Every song is a great song to rock out to and I am very sad I missed them on the stadium tour!
Pretty awesome heavy metal album
Solid
Proto-butt rock! Sounds like Bon Jovi at times. AC/DC at other times. Throw in a little Motley Crue. This is some serious nostalgia shit right here. It's corny but I love it.
Great memories!
It was a good album. Fun to listen to and relatively short. Many of the songs sounded familiar, although several of the songs sounded the same.
Another fun one. A little bit silly but unarguably fun.
4 oder mehr
Good but nothing amazing, I had fun listening to it.
Fun, cheesy hair rock band. Some of these reviews are ridiculous. If you can't even be bothered to listen to the entire album, why are you even doing this?
Really potent compared to Hysteria, and has a lot of potential. Still too samey for a 5.
Heavy metal. Ningún megahit. Un 4.
Okay so this may have the best album cover of all time? Why did nobody warn me? Yes it's hair metal. Sometimes you really want to listen to hair metal. Foolin' is obviously an all timer. Die Hard the Hunter was awesome too. All the tracks were at least okay-to-good.
The guitar solos are perfect, but since this album is one of the things that popularized rock'n'roll and to some extent, metal, it's also very pop-ish. I think it deserves its place in 1001 albums before you have to die, because it also has a chronological importance in the aforementioned genres, but jesus christ it sounds like plain old milk. I'm giving it a 3, but in my heart, it's a 2.5.
Photograph is good. The rest is fine.
Standard 80s, not much to say
Embarrassing, but...
It’s a perfectly solid hair metal album, I can absolutely see why it made an impact and all that. I just don’t rate hair metal so, apart from Photograph and Foolin’ that I knew from before and have misguided attachment to, it isn’t really something that makes an impact on me. Production could do with being more dynamic but I get it, they have to make it sound good on everything so everyone loves it on their radios or w/e, just doesn’t help it make any more impact.
This is the first ever thing I got on vinyl, I still have a sense of nostalgia for it but yeah there's definitely filler here
Me enteré aquí que Pretty Fly samplea una canción de este gente. Me gustó en general el album, un buen heavy metal. Divertido
Prefer Hysteria. This is the prototype for it. 3
Falling somewhere between The Sweet and Iron Maiden, this is more Cartoon Metal than Hair Metal. Kind of good fun and they sold a lot of albums and posters to 16 year olds. The next album, Hysteria, was where they really took off, bowever.
Hysteria better.
Amo el rock ochentero, su estética, su política, me encanta; Deff Leppard es definitivamente emblemática en ese aspecto histórico ya que Hysteria es un himno ochentero. El álbum me parece genial: Rock Of Ages, Too Late For Love y Foolin'
Fuckin' grade A predecessor to heavy metal. Which, however, means it's just 'ok'.
Typical 80s music. Kind of cringe but also some good melodic moments. Very hard to judge because it’s not bad but too much 80s.
No fav song
There are a few tracks on this album that I can get into, but songs like Rock of Ages take me right the fuck out. Album art goes hard.
It was okay. Kinda cliche
