One of those bands that is often recommend to me, but I just can't seem to vibe with. I hear their influence on artists that I like, such as Viagra Boys and LCD Sound system, but this just isn't for me right now.
Flanged vocals! Every song is a classic. I fell in love with this one the first time I heard it, and I spun it three times yesterday!
Oh my golly! One of my favorite records ever. Best debut?
Did Super Furry steal "Baby Ate my Eightball" from "Sexy Boy"?
Meh, kind of like Arctic Monkeys. Not sure what it is about it, but it's just OK. Takes itself too seriously?
How have I not heard this before?! Couldn't be more up my alley.
The playing is quality, the production is great and the songs are basically all hits. That said, it all just sounds like stuff I don't like. Even the aforementioned great production doesn't fit my tastes at all. When I used to turn on the OG classic rock stations, I was looking for Zep, Floyd, Stones etc. I'd always turn the dial when shit like this came on. Hard to believe that so many of those "turn the dial" songs are from this record. P. S. "More Than a Feeling" cost this album a whole star on its own.
Wow. This is the band that Ty Segal based his sound on, no doubt. Turned me onto T. Rex. What a record.
Good playing, good production. Cheesy as hell.
Hmmm. Decent guitar parts, the bass is too loud, then some drunken dipshit mumbles incoherently over the top. What the hell is this crap?
Zzzzzz.
