Okay so I already knew drum & bass was really not my thing but I thought I’d give it a go. I couldn’t finish this I’m sure it’s great if you like this kind of thing but I just don’t get it. I just found it kind of boring. Playlist track: Music
Nie moja bajka, więc nawet nie starałam się przesłuchać do końca.
2 hours of torture
Way too long and repetitive.
Not for me, can't even tell if it's good but you do you
Nope
Who woulda thought that a dnb project wouldn't be for me? Me. Thats who. Its fine I guess. Fine in the way that it happened and its over and I wasn't pissed the whole time. I was mostly just watching the time tick away like a 15 year old in an hour long algebra 2 class. Just waiting as patiently as I can gor it to be done. Over two hours is excessive to say the least. And the 2nd disc isnt even this artist at all anyway. Dude is on like 30% of this tracklist max. Thats wild. I cant tell the difference other than looking at the Wikipedia anyway I guess. The only way I could see myself ever listening to any of this again is if it was in the soundtrack to some dream cast racing game. Idk its on hydrothunder or some shit. But I would even know id heard it before anyway. Yuck
This whole playlist was just a bunch of sounds and all of them were super long, especially the last two THAT WERE MORE THAN HOUR LONG, EACH... what a scam. Anyway, nothing that exciting at all, since I assume this was probably aimed at maybe movie background music situations, where you take a 7-minute song and you split it up in different bits. This seems like something you would have playing in the background of a sped-up video of someone doing something, and it looking very funny. Overall, very meh, not excited about this experience at all.
Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass&Drum&Bass Once I learned there was a single track that was just a continuous mix with vocals, I just went ahead and clicked on that track. Kinda confusing to only release the individual songs as instrumentals and only the vocal mix is a continuous track. And just to kick me in the face, the “vocal mix” is just a dude saying a single phrase of words every so often. AND THEN TO KICK ME IN MY BALLS AFTER KICKING ME IN THE FACE, THIS ALBUM ON SPOTIFY ISNT EVEN THE ORIGINAL ALBUM! Unfair to the artist but this whole fiasco brings down the album rating pretty horrifically.
Couldn’t even finish this geometry dash nonsense
Not for me at all. It was a slog to get through
Using my one pass (something I’m giving myself). It’s British electronica from the 90s, literally probably the 20th one of those on this list thus far. It’s not easy to listen to, it’s well over 90 minutes long. I found it on YouTube and gave it two minutes and it’s exactly what I expected it to be. I can’t do it. The list won. I
Not for me one bit
pass
One-note, way too long, and fails to do anything remotely interesting. So the same as every other EDM album ever made. Amazing that they all sound exactly the same
Not sure I listened to the correct version but it’s awful, long, and unnecessary.
Yeah fuck this. The percussions were interesting, but why TF does this end with two hour long songs?? When would I need to listen to any of this??
This is not really music…
So yes, I listened to the whole thing. I had to find an Archive.org download because the Spotify version is all over the place. It might not even be the same album on there. Still, I went ahead and made myself sit through two hours of this. The concept of drum and bass sounds interesting when taken in small doses, but two hours? He'll nah (as my buddy would mistakenly say). Like why? Why should an album that is too long? too niche? too hard to find? be on the list of the 1001 albums you MUST hear? Do I have to familiarize myself with this type of stuff in order to understand popular music? Cause all it is is variations of the same joke repeated 20 times over and over again. These damn long fucking 90s British electronic albums. It's a miracle that some of them are actually good. This is not even bad, it's just pointless. Who wants that? Honestly if you think THIS deserves a place on the list, you're a nerd. "Oh, but cool fast-paced rave racing music!!", who gives a shit? Touch some grass (3/10, 1/5 on this scale)
Nothing about this music speaks to me
Song 1: Me in my basement at 12 years old playing the same thing over and over again and thinking it's cool Song 2: The next day I found a different chord Why are these 1 minute songs all 7 minutes long?
1 - TERRIBLE
I listened to this as a background but it is just not my thing.
Listened to this version, suggested by the community because apparently the Spotify link is not quite the intended album: https://on.soundcloud.com/VMFdx0qDsLZUTrBOMc This would be fine for a song or two, but for multiple hours it's just boring. 1.5
153/1001 LJT Bukem - Logical Progression Heard before? ❎ Revisit? ❎ I know the proper version is in two separate parts on YouTube, but 1) screw ads 2) It's not conducive to listening to on a train Already annoyed about all of that, to find out this is drum and bass, which at the best of times, I can just about tolerate, this wasn't going to be a winner. I managed the full hour of it on my commute and that's enough for one day.
I don’t have any 2CB to hand, I couldn’t find the right album on Spotify, and I only listened to about 10 minutes of the album that I did find, so it wasn’t the fairest of tests, but I think I get the gist. Not for (2025) me, Clive.
I gave it 15 minutes. Fuck off.
Interminable
Listened to half an hour which I think is a great effort. Gutted I didn't get to listen to the 67 minute last "track" but who has the time
There is no point to this album existing, it fulfils nothing but to go on, and on, and on, and on. Just a whole bunch of self indulgent repetitive beats that should probably be background music somewhere you'd like people to suffer.
I don't think we ever found the full album. We didn't have the tracks that reviewers raved about.
i don't know if this is the worst album on the list, but it's probably pretty close to my worst experience. you'll spend a good chunk of time just tracking it down, and once you do, no sources can agree on the titles of the songs, the names of the artists, which is muddied even further by subsequent versions of the compilation over the years. and once you've finally less-than-legally acquired it, and settled for something resembling accurate track information, your reward is over 2 hours of the most monotonous, torturous electronic music that would be more at home at a CIA blacksite. and to cap it all off, as if there wasn't enough representation for this god awful kind of music on the list, this is, as previously mentioned, a fucking COMPILATION! it shouldn't even be eligible! this was a horrible waste of time in multiple dimensions, it makes me want to let a semi crush my head like a grape, and if i see LTJ Bukem on the street, i think i should be allowed to shoot him
Yeah so apparently the Spotify version of this album is a completely different record from like 2013 or something? It's frustrating having to track down a record you know you are probably not going to like. Mid 90s electronica was really something. 2+ hours of 90s electronica is categorized as torture in the Geneva Convention I think. It's so repetitive and every song is exactly the same. Remember when we called this Techno? I don't know why that was changed. Either way I hate this. And honestly I don't think listening to the Spotify version would have been any different. Still 2+ hours of nonsense. 1/5
Really did not enjoy. Sounded like a heist movie score
I managed to listen to the first 3,5 songs, and then I decided that this music is not worth 3 hours and 27 minutes of my life. Somebody somewhere probably enjoys this, not me though.
I didn't like it. Too long and unnecessary. Why would you put a compilation on this list? And if you choose a compilation why the hell this one?
Pointless. I don’t mind electronic music, but it needs to build to something. Over and over again, this really did not. Also, every song doesn’t have to be 7+ minutes long when you are going to be this repetitive. Don’t even get me started on the last two which are each over 1 hour long. Why is this on here?
Would pair nicely with some Molly.
Not today, Satan!
This felt like I was stuck in a mario kart track (not a complement). Unnecessary listening
p790. 1996. 1 star. From the Introduction of my edition of the book: "Well, you won't find compilations or soundtracks by 'various artists' in this book." - Robert Dimery And here we have a compilation of drum'n'bass tracks by 'various artists'. It would have been a straight 1 star just for that, but its also fucking awful repetitive noise and multiple 7+ minute tracks. Not going to lie, I didn't finish this one off. WTF lets shit like this on to the list?
A Compilation is not an album. 2+ hours of more computer programming. I tried. Cried Uncle after three songs.
AI does it better
The whole idea of this 1001 Album Project was that i was eventually going to find an album that was completely out of my comfort zone in some way. As a mainly Rock fan, i've dabbled in stuff that was a little bit out of my comfort zone. I can confidently say, this was an absolute nose dive out of my comfort zone.... Almost akin to a fat kid eating a grilled chicken Caesar salad. And im not going to lie, i didnt have any interest in this at all. 1/5
Boy, if you love ambient music with a dated, frantic drum beat sample underneath, then this is the album for you! Not only is that all you’ll hear, as every song is exactly just that, but you’ll get hours worth of it! I mean, if you listen to 3 minutes of it then you’ve heard all this album has to offer, but why not stick around for the length of a long movie to make sure you haven’t been driven insane? This is monotonous and irritating. I think they took the ambient music off of The Weather Channel from the 90’s. I regret I wasn’t deaf when listening to this garbage.
tss-tss-tss-tss, tss t-tss tss-tss-tss tss, boom… da-boom… (pause)… doo-oom…tick-ka-tick-ka-ta-tick.
Soundtracket på alle hippe “Café by day / Cocktailbar by night” steder i ‘00erne. Hektiske tromme-loops og udflydende synth-flader. Uden variation. Tænk sig at en hel genre kan være en One Trick Pony.
Someone left the car alarm on…
por ser d&b, parecia que a qualquer momento ia começar a abertura de meninas superpoderosas 🗣️ não é minha praia
Oh boy, gotta really settle in for this one. Staring down the barrel of 2+ hours of drum and bass is not exactly what I had in mind for my day, but we press on. I'll say that I don't think compilation albums or greatest hits collections should be on this list. Sure, all these songs may be influential in their genre, but this is like cheating. If an artists own album can't hold up, that's on them. So that's one strike against this. The album itself? It's fine. It didn't change my life. One or two of these songs by themselves would be fun to listen to, but for two hours while I'm just sitting listening is not a great time. It's so repetitive even between songs. You really gotta be in the mood for this. This didn't do it for me. 1 star for being a compilation, and an uninspiring slog with the exception of maybe 2 tracks. But even then I didn't enjoy really a single minute of this listen, so I'm glad it's over.
Bad!
Здоровая психика этого не выдержит, тем более почти два с половиной часа.
No.
A la quinta canción ya estaba cansado del patrón anodino de locomotora de tren de vapor, así que dejo el drum’n’bass para los fans del género y sigo con mis cosas.
Unable to listen - not in streaming services
First thing to note is that the 3 hours and 27 minutes available on Spotify is not the right version. 3 hours and 27 minutes!! To clarify that is 207 minutes of the wrong version of this album. The good news is the correct version is on YouTube with CD1 being a mere 57:16 long and CD 2 registering as barely even a blip at 45:50 which comes in at a super quick 103 minutes. If you are unfortunate enough to not realise the incorrect version is on Spotify and just happen to look at the reviews and spot one that highlights that, it means that you have spent 310 minutes or, to be clearer, 5 hours and 10 minutes listening to LTJ Bukem and that is without considering YouTube adverts. Is the album any good? Honestly, I don't give a fuck if this is the best album out of the whole 1001 on the list, it is getting a 1 from me regardless of how good others think it is CD1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZK_0dgj43s CD2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYqDVqYSTxs
The only thing that makes this better than rap is the lack of lyrics
No fucking way I’m listening to two fucking hours of this Matrix Ass Rave Music without any drugs. Lasted about 30 minutes, and that was plenty. 1.5⭐️
Dire
I just don’t get drum and bass. I don’t understand the appeal. Nothing changes, either within or between songs. It’s not pleasant to listen to at all.
DNF 1 Star 1/10
WTF is this?
This walked so the challengers soundtrack could run
This is extremely boring, sorry
2 minutes is more than enough!
Boring as hell electric rubish
Gave up after 10 mins. Then checked reviews, found out I'd been listening to the wrong thing, found a playlist of the right album, gave up after 10 (slightly better?) mins. But given the entire genre seems to be defined by the one bar of drums being on repeat, 20 mins was a lot.
84/1001 :: LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression Heard before? ❌ Would I revisit? ❌ Rating: 2 Listen before you die: No Frankly I’m not on enough drugs at the moment to enjoy this album.
I've listened to about 30 min and this is going to be the first album in nearly 250 that I DNF. It has cool sounds, I'm sure someone into this type of production would have a lot of good things to say about it. It's just not a language I understand.
Somebody come get your Casio, it's drunk.
uggghhhh fuck this so much. Why?..........
Annoying sounds, the album
How did a sampler (!) with 1.5 hours of repetitive beep boop even make this list?? Are you kidding me?
Album 885 of 1089 LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression (1987) Rating : 1.5 / 5 More electronica, which is a genre I just don’t have much interest in. As far as electronica goes, it struck me as pretty middle of the road. A bit dreamy in parts, but overall it didn’t move me or leave much of an impression. Not terrible, just not for me.
Day601 - boring and long. bad combo
27/08/2025 So many unnecessary bleeps and bloops, stuck on a loop for 3 hours worth of an album. Give me 5 minutes in front of a computer I would be able to replicate this.
Nobody needs to hear this before they die!! Awful album! Even sought out the proper one on YouTube but still couldn't listen to it. First one since starting this journey that I have given up on. The only logical progression here might be toward skipping tracks faster than you can say “jungle renaissance.” A curious relic of its time that somehow managed to be both nostalgic and exhausting.
I don't even know what this is supposed to be.
Didn't even make it through disc one. Felt like the same drum and/or bass line (or synth beat) over and over. I thought it might be good background music while I tried to read and concentrate. But even then, I kept looking at the clock waiting for disc one to end. And because I couldn't wait for it to end, it gets the lowest rating possible despite not being complete trash.
What an incredibly boring compilation. There were a few bright spots, but since it was only available on two YouTube videos with missing tracks, I can't even say what tracks had the bright spots (the one with the rap, is the best I can do). There is absolutely no reason I needed to hear this before I died, and it was one of the few albums that made me regret my commitment to listening to every album twice. Way too long, way too repetitive, way too unnecessary. I feel like I should give it a 2 because it isn't the worst background music, but my irritation at the length and its lack of availability on streaming services makes me call it a 1.
Don’t know what this is! Don’t waste your time again. 3 hours 30 minutes instrumental mix. Some tracks are just ok but not worth the time checking them again.
Not really my thing.
Not for me
Spotify is incorrect; the correct album can be found on YouTube. The best parts are when it’s muted due to copyright.
Huh
Maybe I'm just not in the right mood but thought the songs were too long and didn't really care for it.
Not good? I normally like this type of music, edm and such but my goodness was this dull.
Meh
Seems to be a bit of a misnomer. I don't believe there was a progression, logical or otherwise. Bits of it did change, but then returned to the base line. 45 minutes of lameness.can only be a 1.
Made it through the entire thing, but it all sounded the same. Not a fan. 1.5/5
Godawful, like nails on a chalkboard. It wasn’t on Amazon, it wasn’t on Spotify, and I could only find some copyright-shortened version of it on YouTube. In hindsight, the fact that I only had to listen to an hour of this was a blessing.
Was fine background music while working, I wasn’t able to finish it though because it was very long and not incredibly interesting. It wasn’t necessarily bad but not great. It kind of reminded me of DJ Shadows “Entroducing…” a bit but not as good. I think this gets a 1/5 unfortunately.
Aucun intérêt. Trop long, trop répétitif. =>1/5
Favorite Track: Western
Didn’t listen, as this is a compilation, not an album and I refuse to acknowledge it. If I was adding an album to the list, would I be able to just add some mixtape I made in high school and say, “Sorry, but this is not available to stream?”
this and 69 love songs back to back is a bit cruel ..... need a lie down to process the volume of new sound i've listened to in the last 24 hours. i had higher hopes coming into this, i'd enjoyed chemical brothers and i was some of that consistent electronic sound that i liked might follow over to here. but no, that really didnt happen .. i went out of my way to find the youtube links to the right recordings. what a waste of time. i hated this. way too intense and repetitive with nothing of note to remember. i couldn't engage with the "music", it's about as melodic as someone jiggling their keys infront of me for two hours.
Hope you like that stereotypical, fast paced techno breakbeat, because every song on this record has it. Sometimes it’s right at the top of the track, other times it comes in after a minute or two. Dread it, run from it…the stereotypical techno breakbeat arrives all the same. It’s kind of amazing, actually. Some of these songs are pretty good, some are not, some go on for way too long, but somehow, they all sound the same. I don’t understand how that is possible.
If you gave this more than 1 star you obviously didn't listen to it.
I think I found the correct album, and it was over 2 fucking hours. There are some good albums that are super long, but this is not one of them. I'm sure it was influential and blah blah but this is the type of electronica that just drives me nuts. Maybe if I were in a club I'd be into it, but on its own, most of it is too long and too same-y. After awhile this just felt tedious. There is some really good electronica on this list, to be fair, but there is a lot of it, and this doesn't need to have a spot.
I pressed play - then saw this record is over 3 hours (at least on Spotify) and in the minute I listened to I decided I had better things to do with 3 hours.
Video game loading screen music looping in the background because someone was too lazy to turn off the tv. Youtube started playing something else just like this and I didn't even notice. 1.5
A fucking compilation album? Come on. Is it because we HAD to squeeze some drum and bass onto this list and there are precisely zero full drum and bass albums that you could put on here with a straight face?
Not a fan of instrumentals like this
I suspect LTJ Bukem would be unable to distinguish Level 1 from Level 13, much less justify why this particular trance compilation over the countless others form the 90s needs hearing before leaving the planet depicted on the cover.
Sounds like slightly hipper Radio "production music". Or wallpaper.
No. No more. English drum and bass is not essential, stop it!!
Absolutely horrendous. Would give zero starts if I could
There is so much of nothing here. Sega Dreamcast character select screen background music. How many ways can you re arrange the same ingredients on a plate and tell me it's a new dish. A very time and place album.
I hate drum and base. I also hate Jass Fusion. In addition, I hate instrumentals. Guess what I thought of this album? Here is a clue. I sat through 5 minutes and turned it off.
Eh, I don't even hate this. PFM and LTJ Bukem himself had some cool contributions. But amongst the various gripes I have about this being included (too long; too repetitive; *much* too long) the biggest is that it's a compilation. Why not include Now That's What I Call Music 42 while we're at it? Picking tracks from multiple artists ought to be a huge unfair advantage. It's just that in this case, that advantage is wasted... 1.5
A compilation should not count as a proper album.
Meh
It's like a three and a half hour Tom Cruse scene where he just takes off and is being chased by various things.
3 hours too long album. 30 minutes would've been ok.
1/5
Nothing justified making this record 3 and a half hours long.
Overall: 1/10 I feel this could only be enjoyable when you're under the influence of many illegal drugs. Fav Song: Not even gonna bother, man
oh my god PLEASE stop with the repetitive electronica albums that go on for way too long
The guy who put this in the book deserves a swirlie. No, I will not listen to 3 1/2 hours of beep boop music
Because the waffle maker breaking and the difficulty finding the album is probably not LTJ’s fault, I am going to round up; however, the same repetitive beat and little else for nearly an hour and forty-five minutes certainly is. It’s difficult to call this monotonous drivel music. I prefer silence.
Don’t really understand why this is significant to be perfectly honest. 1.3
I wish I could give this repetitive bullshit less than one star. Supposedly a compilation of different artists....it sounded like one overly long and boring song.
Usch o fy, det här står jag inte ut med. Drum and bass eller triphop eller nåt. Blä
I’m trying with what I can find cuz this is an odd one on Spotify And honestly: don’t like it 1/5
Yeah, this sort of music rarely does anything for me.
Elevator music.
Unlistenable
0 stars if I could — unlistenable
I don't think that this is the kind of album that I can enjoy properly whilst sitting at my desk working. I've had some fun nights out at drum n bass events, but you really need the whole surrounding to enjoy it. That said, even considering that, I don't think this album ticks the boxes for me. I assume it was important for the genre, but it didn't work for me.
Album number 436 and this is the first and hopefully last time that I say this, but I am not listening to this shit. For two reasons: 1. I'm busy today and don't have the time to listen to an album of such an ungodly length 2. It's a compilation so it was probably gonna get a 1 anyway
Pointless.
Not a real album
ended up writing out a checklist of all the tracks from this album to mark off as I hunted down the individual songs across platforms, to make sure I heard everything. not worth the effort... just really uninteresting stuff. I've rated 180 albums so far and I really think this is probably in 180th place. it seems like the list generally avoids compilation albums and I don't understand why this got an exception to that rule; it's totally undeserving
Not my thing
Absolutely no chance in hell I am listening to 3 hours. I am judging a book by its cover. No. It sounds like when you leave a DVD menu running and it keeps playing on a loop.
This is a genre I don't care for, is not on any streaming services, and is overly long, so it already had 3 strikes going against it before I even listened to it. You can find it on YouTube, though I guess it's not complete as some tracks are missing because of copyright issues as far as I understand, but it was still close to 100 minutes and I think I got the gist and the missing tracks probably don't matter. This has not business being on this list.
Leave me out of it.
Eh.
This is sound of being trapped in a hair salon in hell. Boring repetitive drum loops, boring keyboards. So aggravating. I love ambient, but this ain’t it.
I keep thinking, maybe this is the electronic album to help me understand the genre. I continue to be wrong. Maybe drugs is the missing piece
Cool sounds. Just not for me.
If you would have played this album for me when I was ten years old and told me that this is what music would be like in the future I would have believed you. And you know what, you would have been right. However, as a citizen of the future, I can confidently say that we don't listen to this when we're cooking, or working out, or having futuristic sex orgys. We listen to this in the background of our video game load/ menu screens.
Boring and stupid. At best it's OK background music. At best. 1/10
Ridiculously long droning band camp practice. No more. Wasted my time.
From the book: "What about Saturday Night Fever?'; you may ask. Well, you won't find compilations or soundtracks by "various artists" in this book, although we have made room for soundtracks that consist entirely of original material composed by a particular artist. Otherwise, we would not have been able to tell you about Superfly,Shaft, or Purple Rain-three milestones in pop and some of the best work by Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, and Prince respectively." I guess compilations are allowable when you want them to be. This is a weird album to break the rule with, surely there has to be a 14 hour BritPop collection from the 90s? No, why have a compilation for that when you can just have all 80 bajillion albums. 1/5
This is not for me
I got 30mins in before I couldn't take it anymore. It's too repetitive, not interesting enough and too chill for me. Most good music communicates an emotion or a feeling or a story, but I'm getting absolutely nothing from this.
Yea I’m not listening to 3 hours of that. I gave em 17 minutes of my time and that was more than they deserved.
I really don't get the appeal of this...
a previous (very disturbed) reviewer claimed What an outrageous record, that drips its gooey semen into your ears and sits back and watches as you struggle to shake it out. this record is fucking awful, more akin to a disappointing wank in a sock than spunk in the ear
Not for me
Far out
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Listening to this the week before Christmas makes me feel like the grinch because both of us hate NOISE
77 minuten boem boem tsjik boem boem tsjik... wie heeft in godsnaam dit album op de lijst gekregen... geef die man een job in de politiek, want die krijgt het zelfs voor elkaar dat Trump sociale zekerheid installeert!
Seriously? I'm in my last 5 days and I get two hours of looped bloops?
Loved listening to the amen break for 2 hours on loop. This was a great experience. Make sure you listen to the Youtube reupload, because the Spotify link has the wrong version (the one that begins with "Destiny"). You don't want to miss this. One album remains.
This was not for me
# Album Name: Logical Progression # Artist: LTJ Bukem # Rating: 1/5 # Comments: Honestly, i thought this was junk. The two CDs on YT are 1hr 45 mins. Its absolutely dog shit imo. Not my thing at all. Got to be on drugs to like this. # Top Tunes: F All # Would I listen to it again? F no
Pre-listening thoughts: why is the one on streaming the wrong album????? Had to find this on YouTube. Also another compilation album. Idk how I feel about this Post/during listening thoughts: Christ almighty someone chop my ears off and throw them in the meat grinder. I can’t do drums and bass and nothing else. This is my purgatory. 1.5/10 DID I NEED TO HEAR THIS BEFORE I DIE: oh hell no Fav tracks: ?! Least fav tracks: yeah

If this list has taught me anything, it's that if an album from my teenage years shows up that I've never heard of, it's most likely British, and I most likely won't enjoy it. This was no exception. I got halfway through each song before skipping onto the next. Well I did for the first 10 tracks anyway. I saw the last 2 tracks were over an hour long each and just gave up entirely.
cara q negócio ruim mlk, puta merda. envelheceu como leite fora da geladeira. muito massante

3:27 mins of science fiction electronic jazz? Thanks but not for me
Far too long and far too repetitive. Weirdly enough, my gal pop loving husband enjoyed this 1 probably because he only listened to 5 minutes of it every half hour, rather than the full beast.
No thanks. Not interested, 1 star or F for me.
What a terrible bore.
A 2 hours and 19 minutes drum and bass album.
I now have the certainty that this list is an elaborate joke.
It was like listening to 2 hours of total void. It's ambiant music for your favorite expensive clothing store, but how could someone listen to this at home and live something great? Imagine writing the list of the 1001 albums you have to listen to in your life and adding this kind of stuff. Or I obviously missed the whole point?
Extremely repetitive electronic house music.
Logical Progression: 1) press play 2) roll eyes 3) press stop
Not my thing at all
Didn't finish, not planning to. Not my cup of tea
I could have spent 2 hours scrolling through my phone's ringtones and had the same experience as listening to this. Absolute shit.
Not a fan of this at all. Its safe to say I dont not enjoy drum and bass
This is #day54 of my #1001albumsyoumusthearbeforeyoudie challenge, and.... my annoyance started when I hit the Spotify button. Tracklists on Wiki and Spotify differ. I looked for an album on YT (as I mentioned earlier, I listen to all the entries on the list, no matter the music), and it's the same. I got back to Spotify and listened to what was there ("instrumental mixes"), except for the last two 1-hour-long tracks. I don't think I'd miss anything had I listened to the "proper" tracklist, though. A bad UX is enough to get me down. But, there's also music... When drum and bass was big here in Ukraine (early '00s), it passed me by... I was a trance/hard trance/hands-up kid then. Now, a drum and bass compilation to listen to before you die? My answer is a 1 out of 5. Again. Looking forward to #day55.
Dislike. It’s not about the album, just the genre
No
If someone said to you that you had to hear this album before you die, you would fully expect them to kill you. Pretty bad album. Repetitive drum and bass loops and not much else. 1/5
pov oot klubilla ja haluut kotiin
Not available on Tidal.
2 long 2 samey
A way too long compilation album of different artists doesnt deserve to be on this list. The other shit Drum n Bass album is enough
This was annoying on many levels. Not on Spotify, redundant drum machines. No melody no feeling. Didn’t bother to listen to the whole thing cause listening on YouTube is annoying. Closest to 1 star yet. In fact it is one star.
I'm not sure I listened to the correct album. Still, I got one on Deezer credited to "Various artists" that followed almost the same track list I got on the Wikipedia page (just out of curiosity, that also has another one with the same cover and 3 HOURS of electronic music...😂😂😂...) Anyway, it will probably not change my opinion. It is the kind of generic electronic music that may have had some importance in the '80s/'90s, but it just sounds like nothing important in 2024.
Compilation albums should not be on the list; the linked version (on Spotify) is not the alright version, and is over three hours long; and, most egregiously, the music is absolute pony
Maybe one day, years later, they woke up and realized that they spent months of their youth compiling two hours of flavorless and unoriginal beats like it was the greatest thing anyone had ever done, and they pulled it from streaming services out of sheer embarrassment. Have we considered this possibility yet?
Nope. Can’t do it. Rave music to me is just background music and only works in a dance club. It has no purpose outside of that setting. Way too repetitive. Who would ever want to listen to this outside of a rave? I would rather listen to Polka.
Let's pull this one up in the ol' Spotify... 12 songs, 3 hr 27 min? Oh boy. Two of these songs are over an hour long, which is just fucking ridiculous. Even the ones that aren't an hour are around 7 minutes, which is 6 minutes too long. Every single one of these tracks is so goddamn repetitive
Another one I've never even heard of, artist or album. I listened to quite a bit of electronica music around that time but no one ever turned me on to this album. It starts out very frenetic but it reminded me of a movie soundtrack, not something I'd put on to enjoy at home. A couple of the tracks were so repetitive that I ended up skipping ahead after they went nowhere - repetition was the name of the game back then but the same words over and over for 8+ minutes?! This breaks no new ground and nothing is catchy even for the time it was released, truth is...it's boring. This is definitely not a Top 1000 album.
Only one I've ever turned off. It sound like something I used to make on a DJ program in the late 90s. Couldn't bare the thought of 3 hours of it
there’s a five star rating. therefore 1 is the lowest. and right below 1 you have “shit”. and below “shit” is this. so this album lands right below “shit” but since i need to rank it on a scale of 1-5 it gets a 1
1086 albums into this project and I’m forced to search for a two hour drum and bass record that doesn’t exist on any major streaming platform and I can finally admit this exercise has broken me.
More mindlessly repetitive electronica. I can't believe I just listened to an hour and a half of non-stop breakcore drum loops
Truly shit. How are you supposed to listen to this without feeling like a total douchebag?
I just can’t… Why do we have so many albums like this? Again, feels like background music. I’m playing catchup on ratings and for some reason have run into a string of this genre that I missed (or ignored) so unfortunately LTJ is getting the brunt of my dislike. And the fact that this links to a a 3 hour and 27 minute album on Spotify….Come on man!
Now we know who created call center hold music.
Not really my style. This is a compilation album? What makes this more special than other compilation albums?
Nope
Det här kan vara något av det sämsta jag någonsin hört. Borde tillhöra listan 1001 album du INTE ska höra innan du dör.
The linked album and the listed tracks do not line up. The linked album is 3 hours long with the final two tracks seeming to be the full album duplicated in one continuous, trackless set. That’s a lot of nonsense for a genre I already hate. I listened to a few snippets and got the gist. One star.
I have no use for albums like tgis. Especially if I'm listeningmidday and sober. It was a tad interesting at the beginning. But that faded quickly. I've also heard less repetitive, vis a vie, less boring albums from the same genre. Not worth having to search out what platform to listen on as it isn't available on most. YouTube has ads in the middle of the what I can only call "songs"
Were they before their times? Maybe. Was it fire in the 1996? Possibly. Can I enjoy it without being on hard drugs? No. Why is this on the list? Idk. 1.5/5.
Not for me, just too repetitive...repetitive...repetitive...etc...
1.5
Rather tedious repetitive drum and bass. Probably novel when released but not at all interesting now.
Okay, this might be the 1-iest 1 of all the crappy 1-star records yet. What a pile of crap. I hate it.
STANDOUTS: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. OVERALL: 0/5
no
Not my thing, I appreciate a lot of work would go into this though.
oh dear
Nah.
GTFO
Shit
not good
1. deztiny - 1 2. zolar - 1 3. train - 0 4. beyond - 1 5. univerzal - 1 6. muzic - 1.5 7. jazz - 1 8. zenzez - 1.5 9. reflectionz - 1 10. euphony - 1 11. logical - 1
This didn't do it for me.
This music is definitely not for me. My husband would love it. Probably one of the many reasons he is leaving me.
“Logical Progression (also known as LTJ Bukem Presents Logical Progression) is a compilation album” ….you mean like a frickin playlist?? You want me to listen to a *playlist* before I go? ...a playlist of Mario Kart Menu Music??
It's amazing, I thought I'd like drum 'n bass. In a list of important D'nB artists I find Aquasky, DJ Food, Lamb and The Prodigy. All bands that I love. If this album is a milestone and essential work of the D'nB genre, I don't think I like it. I listened to a few pieces from the album. They reminded me of the terrific band 'Kraftwerk', only not nearly as good, very monotonous (and that compared to a band that performed 'Autobahn') and totally boring. Then I saw that the whole album has 3 hours of playing time. For what? Forever the same sequence? Maybe you have to take drugs to get into it. But even then, I'd rather listen to something else. 1/5
I felt like this one was a cruel joke, I think it was a nearly 4hr album. After listening to the first 2 songs, I thought that surely it was almost over but that was just the tip of the iceberg. I did not listen to the whole album, so I feel bad giving it a 1 star, but that's what's happening.
didn't enjoy, just an instrumental album
DNF. 3.5 hours of drum and bass is a bit much.
DNF. the songs I did listen to didnt seem to go anywhere. And 3.5 hrs is wayyyyy too long for an album
Above & Beyond is the best track on this album, and even it I couldn't make it through. I don't understand why these bland electronic albums keep making this list.
could i write poetry to this? n
Bored
Gute Musik zum Einschlafen, aber sonst?
Nope. Absolutely not. Over three hours long - are you kidding me? Didn't make it past the first track.
A couple of days ago I posted a review saying that electronic dance music was the worst genre. I apologise to those fans because I had forgotten that drum and bass is the worst music genre. Botempi organ music - tedious repetitive rubbish a child could create.
Way, way too long. It's a compilation too?! Why is this even here. Toss this background music in the trash. Full confession: this is the first time I didn't listen in it's entirety. I just couldn't get through these repetitive tracks. My integrity it has taken a hit!
This is a compilation? That's right. A compilation of dog shit.
I started to listen to the spotify version and was like 10 minutes in when I started to totally hate it. I did not give up. I learned on wikipedia that the original album has a different tracklist so I searched for it. I did not hate it as much but I did. It's fucking dated and very meh. feels like a pro tools library of outdated sounds.
I got bored after exactly 7 minutes and 4 seconds.
No
This not being on Spotify in its entirety and being fragmented on YouTube already soured my experience. I don’t hate the genre, but I didn’t enjoy two hours of drum and bass especially with no vocals. I feel as though I need to be doing time trials in a racing game. I can see why this is on the list, but it’s not for me.
I hate this. How could anyone think this is an "essential" album? It's the same repetitive drivel that everyone in this genre puts out.
Just bad. Sounds like the soundtrack for a bad action movie in the 90’s. 1/5 Won’t listen again
These pieces sounded like either what's called "house music" or else something you might hear in a sci fi show or movie, very outer spacey. Didn't like any of them.
Somewhat an oxymoron with chill drums and bass… one or two tracks I liked but the rest wasn’t for me.
Oh fuck off
A new contender for the worst entry on here
This is the third or fourth album of *this* type of electronic music that I've received thus far. And I'm running out of creative ways to emphasize how much I hate it. The whole genre. It's repetitive muzak, cold and unfeeling, only of use to soundtrack chase scenes. And the albums are always over an hour long (if you're lucky -- sometimes they stretch it out for *multiple* hours). If you're going to present us with ten seconds of music looped to infinity, can't you cut it off after like three minutes rather than ten? Full disclosure: I almost always listen to the full album, regardless of how much I dislike it, but I skipped this one after 10 mins once it had confirmed my biases. This is only for raves. Or to work to, if you're looking for something extremely repetitive that you can zone out to and ignore.
No Thanks.
3 horas 27 minutos? Seriously? Sorry, no way.
I liked some, and I didn't like some. And I didn't make it all the way through. Too long and repetitive.
Just no.
Interminable
What is the point of this
I feel like I was on hold for 45 minutes.
Music for supermarkets elevetors or porn films
At a bit of a loss as to how this has made the cut. Can only assume it was a token gesture to make up the house(?) numbers. Either way it’s bland as fuck and totally pointless. Reminds me of the type of music they play in them bars that stay open really late where everything is a bit tacky, and the drinks are really expensive, and you’re surrounded by consultants letting their hair down, and you spend your time there wishing you were in bed. Shite.
I wouldn't have this on in the background. The first few tracks sound like those tinny polyphonic ringtones on a 3510. A redundant inclusion in this list.
This was just the worst kind of electronic/DnB music. Was unable to finish it.
How anyone can listen to this for 3 hours without drugs is beyond me. Get me off the drum and bass wild ride. It’s a never ending loop of dull. 1.7/10
Interminable. Ça passera pas au conseil des albums mémorables pantoute. Du beat sans paroles pas mal tout le temps la même affaire avec de légères variations.
No thank you.
Ouch. Way too long. 1 stars.
I'm not gonna lie, this sucks ass. 1 star.
Not a fan
I listened, but it's very repetitive and was sending me to sleep more than is helpful on the morning drive to work.
Someone listened to far too much Sonic CD music. Track 3 got me excited as I thought it was the theme tune from Lost in Space movie... It wasn't Very repetitive, not my cup of roobios
No definitely not.
Hyperspeed breakbeats, jungle, house, drum 'n bass -these are not genre words in my vocabulary, but apparently they exist. I listened to all 3 1/2 hours of this, so I'm good for life. It reminded me very much of the muzak played in botiques in London. Meh......
LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression This was a compilation of drum and bass music. While this might be a genre and style some folks like, this album wasn't due me. Plus it was hard to find the correct version of this album to listen to. Nothing special in my opinion. 1/5
Horribly repetitve
Have a big project for work due in a few days, so this was the perfect background music I needed to zone out and get things done. No real melodies, lyrics, or content at all really, just straight Ableton presets direct to disk.
Two hours of nothing. An absolute nonentity of a record. Rating: 1.5/5 Playlist track: Demons Theme Date listened: 06/01/24
Pas aimé du tout.
Why make a drum and bass album over 2 hours? 2/10
Ritmos electrónicos y poco más.
Anybody up for 3 and a half hours of ringtones from 2005? Yikes
Hated it. Got half a song in and it was awful to try and work to.
This album was putting me to sleep with its repetitive beats. After 45 minutes I was dismayed to discover I was only 5 tracks in.
Tried, but couldn’t complete this album. This genre doesn’t interest me.
3 hours of the same song performed by many people...
Come on, now. It wouldn't kill you to make this list 1000 albums long.
My biggest issue with drum and bass is the lack of guitar and vocals. Other than that this was fantastic.
Drum and bass. I'm going to be hitting skip. Lots. Yep. As awful as any of that genre.
This may have been groundbreaking at the time, but it sounds kike background music to me listening in 2023. Pleasant enough, but nothing to really get your teeth into or grab the attention. I like the idea of the continuous mix version and this seemed a better way to consume this. Although I didn't realise when it came on that it was the whole album AGAIN.
Egads this was... nothing. Even with a fresh cup of coffee flowing through me I could hardly keep awake through the first half of this before being forced to throw in the towel. There needs to be a zero stars option for albums such as this.
Very basic
This sounded like something I would discover on my computer randomly in 1995, not my cup of tea.
This is just noise.
Rubbish
I guess I just dont get it. The genre never really attracted me but I gave it a chance, it just seemed like a cacophony of noise. Did not care for a single track.
I am not the audience for this album
Actual ass 1
Found the reviewed album on YouTube. High BPM drums. Some sampling. Repetitive. Sparse vocals. Innocuous music. High energy - might be good to run to. Or dance to if you were really high. Otherwise without value imo.
