Lemmy rules!

Fast, heavy, doesn't overstay it's welcome

I like the sound of the record, but it does drag on for clocking in at under 40 minutes. Mid 3

Here we go! Got this right after Steely Dan, what a relief. Great energy and drive. Love Lemmy's singing and bass. Super good drumming. Title track is so good, all time classic. "Jailbait" keeps this from being a 5 star album. I feel like it is them playing to a persona, but still tough to get over. The lyrics are not the point, but in general they're not that great. Maybe my favorite older metal. Solid 4 stars/

I love some Motorhead. Lemmy was definitely the epitome of rock and roll.

This is my kind of metal.

The more I hear this stuff, the more I like it. It feels like Ramones who even tho the all sound the same for the most part, it’s great music. I can’t get past Jailbait being on the album, but otherwise it’s consistent. Solid 4, almost a 5.

-Incredible-. It's just straight up metal goodness that never goes out of style. Then the friend I'm doing the challenge with pointed out the lyrics to Jailbait, and uhh... Shit.

Great heavy metal. Lemmy was one of a kind.

Down your throat rock album. Jailbait is a tough listen 40 years later. 4/5

If there’s one band that truly fits the definition of rocking out with your cock out, and absolutely no holding back, it’s Motörhead. This is definitely a classic album from them, but what I’ve always liked about Motörhead is how they’ve always stayed in their own lane. It’s hard to pin them down as strictly heavy metal, hard rock, or punk. Instead, they captured that collision point where all of those genres overlap, and that became the Motörhead sound.

Worth the entry fee for the title track alone but contains so much more besides

The only acceptable metal band, love it

The lyrics on this are ridiculous, but i love the energy and the attitude of this album. Its like Slade on speed.

Ace of Spades is the greatest example of Motorhead's style. Fast drums, distorted guitar solos, and rusty vocals. Some of the beginning sounds that later influenced the creation of metal.

Look, I like this music but maybe noy usually 4 stars like it. Except for the fact that Ace of Spades was my favorite track in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and it bumps the whole album off nostalgia.

FUCKIN MOTÖRHEAD!!!!!!!!

good songs, it can get repetitive

Dumb, but it does it well.

Track 1. (Ace of Spades) Love this actually, amazing guitarist. 8.6/10 Track 2. (Love Me Like a Reptile) Yeah, this is good shit. 8.3/10 Track 3. (Shoot You in the Back) 9/10 Track 4. (Live to Win) Such a good guitar riff, holy shit. 8.3/10 Track 5. (Fast and Loose) Really great melody, love this. 8.5/10 Track 6. ((We Are) The Road Crew) Actually, good lyrics, which are rare in rock, since it's mostly screaming. Like how it's not all just about fucking girls and getting drunk. 7.6/10 Track 7. (Fire Fire) 7/10 Track 8. (Jailbate) 8.9/10 Track 9. (Dance) 8.4/10 Track 10. (Bite the Bullet) 8.5/10 Track 11. (The Chase Is Better Than the Catch) Immediate like. So fucking catchy, head-bopping song. Love the title too, very... creative. 9.6/10 Track 12. (The Hammer) 7.8/10 Overall Score: 8.4/10

Onhan tuo loppupeleis aika yksiulotteista

Kova meno! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pure badassery

This. Album. Rocks.

Age hasn’t dulled the power of this. Still rocks hard. Can’t argue with it. Just goes for it from the first note and then hits you in the face over and over! Pure Rock…..not even trying for anything else. 4

Remember when this was in Superbad. lol

The album is influential for sure, just not for me. 4 for influence but 1 for my tastes

Chädhead

I wish I could drink as much as Lemmy did throughout his life

You Play Track 1 some, play Track 4 some it's all the same to me but I like it

I was only familiar with Ace of Spades so today was my first time listening to Motorhead. I am impressed. The songs are all similar in sound and theme but are still well done. I like Lemmy's voice and the guitar playing. This album reminds me in a way of the Misfits when they were at their best. This is a well done, and enjoyable album.

Honestly don't got a ton to say. Just a fantastic slice of classic speed metal. Songs like Ace of Space and (We Are) The Road Crew are fantastic. Album does get a little repetitive, but that's not a bad thing with a band like Motorhead. If Motorhead didn't sound like Motorhead, that'd be a huge problem. Some bands you don't want them having music that all sounds the same. But some you do. AC/DC is another example of that. I want every AC/DC song to sound like Back in Black. And Motorhead is the same, every song should sound like Ace of Spades. But anyways, yeah. Amazing record. I probably wouldn't have given it a five anyways, but having a song like Jailbait makes it easy to not give the five. What's with 70's and 80's bands having a pathological need to make a song about wanting to get with underage girls? Embarrassing and gross.

Great album! Classic one of theirs!

p458. 1980. 4 stars. Now we're talking. One of the best rock'n'roll bands ever, and the source of every thrash metal wannabee that came after. Tight as a drum, still sounds fresh today and doesn't outstay its welcome on any of the tracks. Point deducted for some suspect lyrics that haven't aged well ("Jailbait").

20/11/2025 I've never actually given them a listen apart from the classic songs. It was a good album, just a bit samey. Spotify listeners: 4.2 million

Dumb and entertaining time as expected. Sometimes in music you need the music just lets you rest your brain and does exactly what you need it to. 3.75 / 5

I initially judged this by the cover - then surprisingly enjoyed this WAY more than i thought i would.

I just listened to this the other day for the first time. It was rocking. I knew of this album already. Pretty freaking rocking.

This’ll blow your mind. You ready? Motörhead is more than “Ace of Spades”! Right? What they are is a raging, balls-nasty hard rock band that don’t give a FECK, mate! Seriously they have so many great songs that just kick ass with speed and power. Okay, “Jailbait” is HUGELY REGRETTABLE. Bad one! But the rest is heavyweight drillbit rock that holds up forever.

Classic Motörhead.

Album 951 of 1089 Motörhead - Ace of Spades (1980) Rating : 3.5 / 5 I’ve never spent much time digging into their catalog, but I have to say - this one kicks. I always thought they leaned a bit punk, and there’s definitely that raw, no-nonsense energy here, but make no mistake: this is hard rock done right. Loud, fast, and full of attitude from start to finish. Lemmy’s gravelly voice and pounding bass drive everything, giving the songs a sense of grit and authenticity that’s hard not to appreciate. You can tell this is a band that did things their own way and didn’t care much what anyone thought about it. The title track is an absolute classic, and the rest of the album never really lets up. It’s unapologetic, stripped down, and exactly what rock ‘n’ roll is supposed to be. I get now why Motörhead inspires such devotion - they’re not about polish or perfection, they’re about power, energy, and being real. This was a great listen and an easy reminder of why Lemmy is so revered.

This one goes to 11.

I love it.

Apart from Ace of Spades I didn’t know this album, or much of their catalogue. I really liked it. Heavy but not overwhelming.

Classic Rock Album

Great metal band!!

Title track is giga. Rest of the album is good. No complaints.

Very badass album. Really not much more to say other than that.

Ace of Spades (the song) rips harder than almost any other song ever written, and then the rest of the album is this weird mix of hard rock and blues. Low 4.

Well it’s a good listen. Every song pretty much sounds the same which lets it down a bit but it’s still a decent album.

I love heavy metal from this era, it is just simple no nonsense loud rock. We are the road crew and ace of Spades the stand out tracks. Not much variation, but who cares!

Chin up, shout at the sky, it’s Lemmy! Relentlessly high octane as ever.

I can feel the Rock & Roll flow through my veins. This was about what I expected. Some great speed metal. Top 4: Ace Of Spades, Love Me Like A Reptile, We Are The Road Crew, and The Chase Is Better Than The Catch no bad songs 3.50-3.75/5

Speed metal's rowdy, beer-soaked blueprint: ten tracks of pure adrenaline that hit like a freight train driven by a bull through a china shop.

No comment.

Ace of Spades is as good as it gets...the rest is really really good speed metal with an iconic front man. Lemmy's voice was one of a kind.

Not my favourite Motörhead album, which may be because of over-familiarity, especially with the title track, but also because the best songs on the first three albums are, to me, better than those on this, the band's 4th. It's all fairly subjective though because Motörhead didn't really evolve from album to album - despite later lineup changes, they sounded pretty much the same (with the exception of the experiment with Brian Robertson ex-Thin Lizzy on Another Perfect Day, which I like a lot even if no-one else seemed to...). Ace of Spades may be the band's best sounding album though, the production is excellent. The sound could have been muddy, and was on some other recordings, with Lemmy playing rhythm bass, Phil Taylor clattering along with his double-bass drumming and Fast Eddie Clarke's limited but very effective guitar, but there is a lot of space in the mix - you can hear Lemmy's Rickenbacker clearly, as you can the other instruments; they all sit distinctly in the mix. Lemmy may have always claimed that Motörhead were a rock and roll band and not a metal band but this album, and Overkill & Bomber the year before, came along at just the right time with the emergence of NWOBHM and had a huge influence on the 1980s metal scene in general.

A shot of rock and roll with a rock and roll chaser. Fun, no bullshit rock. 🤘

Its no nonsense rock. Ace of spades is a banger and there are some nice tunes on the album -1 stars for jailbait....

Motörhead was basically thrash before thrash was a thing. The raw speed and grit on this album still hit hard today, and you can hear how much it influenced the metal and punk scenes that followed. Lemmy’s vocals and that grinding bass tone give the whole record a rough edge that just works. The title track is the obvious standout. I think it’s a go-to song for every middle schooler just getting into heavy metal, and honestly, it holds up for adults too. It was also part of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 soundtrack back in the day, which is probably how I first heard it. Overall, Ace of Spades is loud, fast, and unapologetically raw. It’s not just a classic metal record, it’s the blueprint for everything that came after.

Never quits

I should not like motorhead but for some reason I do

Un po' ripetitivo ma vvb

Would be 5 if it weren’t for ‘jailbait’. That song can get in the bin.

We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll. Lemmy opened shows by saying that and truer words have never been spoken. They are rock bands favorite band. The lyrics might be clunky, the music loud and blown out, some parts are too fast and others too slow. They are rock at it's core. You aren't going to listen to this for relevant lyrics. You listen to this when you want to drive fast, when you want to thrash around and knock into things. Nothing is perfect with this album but that's not the point at all. It's a damn fun album to put on and get moving to.

This is much more than a some throwaway hair metal band sure the cover is cringy, as f*** the logo, hell, the name the clothes everything, but this is a quality musical output from a really tight power trio

don’t forget the buttsex

would have been a 5 if i was on meth

Classic stuff. Motörhead is metal.

I enjoyed this one. It did get a bit samey, but at 36 minutes long, it didn't outstay its welcome.

Motörhead was never about subtlety, and 𝘈𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘴 proves it: the sound of a warthog with an Iron Cross, charging straight ahead. It’s bass-heavy to the core, with guitars only breaking through the wall of noise from time to time. For someone who usually struggles with heavy metal, this record is surprisingly enjoyable — raw, direct, and almost punk in spirit. The only drawback is its lack of variation, but when the title track hits, none of that really matters. It’s not rock ’n’ roll in the traditional sense, but when Lemmy growled “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘵ö𝘳𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬 ’𝘯’ 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭!” you knew exactly what he meant.

Solid. ★★★★

Although every track just feels like a slightly different Ace of Spades, it's still pretty rockin. Jailbait: lol wtf dude.

I liked this, but I expected more from this. Jailbait is cringey AF.

Ace of Spades is a singular song and an absolute favorite of this style of music. I love its dumb little spirit and the fact that it sounds like he was reading off the wikipedia "List of Poker Terms". I love that I got to watch my friend's little brother do karaoke to this while wearing an Arby's uniform and by the end of the song the biker bouncer at the metal bar was standing up and applauding. Ace of spades (album) is less of a high water mark, but I almost want to give it a four for the title track. Win some, lose some, it's all a game to me.

They’ve got a great sound, but their musical palette is very limited, to be honest. Probably a bit closer to a 4 than a 3 though

Motörhead knows how to rock.

Title song is an absolute banger and Tony Hawk classic. Jailbait is an iffy one, ignoring that it's a good time.

rock n roll and rock n roll and rock n roll the pure rock and roll and instrumentals are pretty good however the lyrics are very ass and its got that old timey growl-singing

With a number of catchy rock and roll anthems with a heap of trash metal, Motörhead manages to produce strong album of singles; however the sound does get repetitive after some time and some of the songs like "jailbait" are deserving of a scolding.

Raw, heavy, and energetic. Hard not to like this one, lyrics a bit seedy, otherwise something I'll have on repeat

Total vibe. Great guitar solos.

4 - great album even if it did start to sound same-y

I am literally wearing a Lemmy T-shirt right now from the rainbow room. Motorhead is simply the soundtrack to those nights when you were out driving around looking for trouble. It’s not about philosophy or feelings or any of that. It’s just about hard rock at a super fast pace.

Plenty of energy in this one, the titular track is a banger and the rest of the album follows with similar aggression

402/1001 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

Great rock album

Really solid album! First time listening to Motorhead with much detail and it surpassed my expectations. They blend Punk and Hard rock into something similar to Metal but way less corny. Enjoyed this album and will listen to it again.

I’ve never listened to a Motörhead album in its entirety, but I knew exactly what I was in for when this album was generated and it didn’t disappoint. 36 minutes of pure, driving rock and roll that doesn’t let up for a second. It’s not something I’ll always be in the mood to listen to, but definitely something I’ll listen to again in the future when I’m in the mood for some rock and roll.

4.5, epic dad biker rock!!!!

The extract of rock!

Solid rock album.

you win some, lose some, it's all the same to me

Got that hillbilly metal feel, high and hazy energy. Like a drug frenzied bar fight. Great guitar solos in every track. Themes of risky lifestyle, wild life. Let the music do the talking with very simple lyrics. It's sloppy and loud and grinding on but that's the point. Not intended for deep thinking, just a hard rock album. It's all kind of one song, no differentiation. While Metallica has moments where they switch it up on say, Fade to Black or Nothing Else Matters, Motorhead just kind of runs together as one speed metal performance. Ozzy showed range too.

Undeniably badass. Not a ton of variation throughout the record and kinda cringe at times. But mostly fun, dirty rock n’ roll.

Ace of Spades is one of my favorite metal songs. The album gets repetitive but I can still enjoy it. But Jailbait…yikes! Lyrically I can’t imagine it flying now.

Wat een energie!

Minus a star for Jailbait. Otherwise, this album cooks and rocks hard! The Chase is Better Than The Catch is pure romance. Come on honey, touch me right there. Come on honey, don't cha be scared. Come on honey, let me get you in the sack You know the chase is better than the catch. Play that at your next candlelight, romantic dinner. Actually don't because if you do, you should seek professional help.

Statistically, you've heard the song Ace of Spades if you've got a pulse, and this album is basically "what if that, but album?" Fortunately, that but album is good. Hard rocking, definitely a classic for many reasons, deserves its spot on this list for sure

All gas, no brake

Man... 'Ace Of Spades' really is a high octane track. Heard it numerous times, but it really is incredibly good. This album is definitely better than the previous Motörhead album we had: No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith (Live). This still suffers a bit from the same problem though: most songs sounds very much the same or are to similar. There are loads of riffs in there that almost feel like a variant of the Ace Of Spades riff, and the chorus usually follows the same formula of "sing the name of the song a few times". The tone of the album really hits the spot though; the guitar and bass sounds incredible. Makes me think a bit of Black Sabbath, though I think they win out in tasty guitar sound by a small margin. Sometimes the lyrics can be a bit too much about drinking, chasing tail, and getting laid. But reading a bit about Lemmy that seems to have been what he was all about, so checks out. Strange enough, the second best song of the album is actually 'The Chase Is Better Than the Catch', which has a pretty cool riff and and awesome tone. Overall this ends up somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me. But since I have so many 3s on this album, it's actually going to have to be a weak 4. Actually found myself nodding along to this quite a lot, and 'Ace Of Spades' and 'The Chase Is Better Than the Catch' are real bangers.

Motorhead is here to rock and doesn't care what you think about it. Mission accomplished. "Ace of Spades" forever.

Two really great tracks plus a load of filler. Enjoyable filler, but still filler. I'm going with four stars.

I love the instrumentation and energy. Ace of Spades (the song) is a classic and there were some other fun songs on this album as well. Lemmy's voice is very unique and I wish I liked it more but it is a bit of a hangup for me.

Honestly so much more fun than I was expecting, started out at 100 and never let up.

Motörhead didn’t make music, they made legal steroids for your ears.

An (exact) early BÖC and ZZ Top cross can't be bad, and it isn't. Need more time with this

Subtle, err no. Complex, err again no. Variated, no no and no. But if you want something to make ya bang ya head and just get down with ya dumb side, then yes, yes and yes, its just rock n roll. Despite myself 4 Star.

Lemmy had a formula and never deviated from it. Ace of Spades is just a classic and even if nothing here is as good it's still a blast.

A quote from the fantastic movie Airheads: Chazz: Who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God? Chris Moore: Lemmy. [Rex imitates a game show buzzer] Chris Moore: ... God? Rex: Wrong, dickhead, trick question. Lemmy *IS* God.

Great first half, but holy crap there are some lyrics that aged badly.

It all sounds the same, still bangs. RIP Lemmy

To be honest Lemmy isn't much of a singer but his growling voice is perfect for this kind of intense rock music. It's a bit samey (a lot of the tracks sound like the title track) but it's also very listenable.

Classic noisy pugnastious

If you're looking for subtle nuance in your lyrics ('Jailbait'?, 'Chase..."?) then have a word with yourself, you're in the wrong place. But if you want the essence of Motörhead ('AoS', 'Roadcrew') then this'll do. Live album was better, mind

Banging.

Never been into these guys but I enjoyed this album.

Excellent.

Ace of Spades is a brilliant song, but this is the first time I have listened to the whole album. The energy remains consistently high throughout. The album is a hour of power! Live to Win is great, too. Motorhead knew what they were going for in this album and 100% nailed it.

This is not a challenging album. As they say, it does what it says on the can. It is that kind of rock. It rocks. I’m good.

Vojkec voli ovaj album pogotovo shoot you in the back

It's funny in the movie Airheads they joke that "Lemmy is God" and it's not that far out there. Solid 80s metal album with all of the things we want to forget about the 80s.

I feel this veers more into punk than metal honestly, really heavy punk yeah but punk nonetheless. Then lemmy himself dubs it just ‘rock and roll’. Guess it’s between the 3 but I think purely describing it as metal is a tad too simplistic. Honestly though it might just be a problem with my dubbing of genres cuz a band like blue öyster cult (sadly not on the list) I wouldn’t call metal either and just more hard rock, especially agents of fortune, which should’ve been on the list. Speaking of both bands I like how both use the ‘ö’ to make then sound more menacing. And back to motörhead, my dad always had a top of the ‘war pig’ but he always called it the ‘iron maiden’ instead, so I learned my dad was Bs-ing there. 4/5

Went in worried came out loving it, not a massive fan of Lemmy's vocals but the music rocked.

Really like this album. Motorhead has a sound and style totally their own. I do think the music is a bit rigid, which is kind of a strength and weakness. It stays in its lane and doesn't deviate much. But it fully owns its lane. Strong album.

Never stops. Would be great to drink to. A lot of the same though, to both its detriment and appeal.

Better than i remember from the first time i listened to it. Full of energy which is always a plus for me when it comes to anything rock, so i was happy sitting through it.

Enjoyed it more than expected!

Lemme is fucking god!! Serisouly, this album is fucking raw and nasty and overflowing with blood pumping energy. 4.5

I like opening with the title track. I sing this at karaoke, or I yell this, rather. It's such a badass song. I haven't listened to the rest of this album. Here we go! This album rocks! Just a constant driving rhythm and groove. It makes me want to snort some speed and drive really fast off a cliff. Dope! I can hear the influence in several 2000's Savannah metal bands, Baroness, Kylesa, and Bear Fight! Anyhoo, this was a nice jam worthy of a 4 spot.

This is an album Beavis and Butt-Head would love. A lot of the songs sounded fairly similar but I quite enjoyed it. I'm happy we finally got some more hard rock. Was good music to listen to in the gym. 3.8/5

### In-Depth Review of *Ace of Spades* by Motörhead Released on November 8, 1980, *Ace of Spades* by Motörhead is a landmark album in heavy metal and rock history. With its raw energy, unapologetic attitude, and fast-paced aggression, the album has become synonymous with the band and its frontman, Lemmy Kilmister. Below is a detailed analysis of its lyrics, music, production, themes, and influence, along with an assessment of its strengths and weaknesses. --- ## **Lyrics** The lyrics of *Ace of Spades* reflect Motörhead's ethos: living life on the edge. Lemmy’s songwriting is direct and unpretentious, often revolving around themes of gambling, hedonism, rebellion, and the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. The title track "Ace of Spades" epitomizes this with its gambling metaphors used as a broader commentary on risk-taking and living dangerously. Lines like "You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me" encapsulate the album's devil-may-care attitude[1][4]. Other tracks delve into similarly gritty topics. For instance: - "(We Are) The Road Crew" celebrates the unsung heroes of touring life with vivid imagery. - "Fast and Loose" explores hypersexual themes with a bluesy swagger. - "Shoot You in the Back" evokes Western outlaw imagery. While the lyrics are undeniably effective in capturing Motörhead's rebellious spirit, they lack depth or variety. They often stick to well-trodden motifs of drinking, gambling, and debauchery[1][4]. --- ## **Music** Musically, *Ace of Spades* is a relentless powerhouse that blends heavy metal, speed metal, punk rock, and blues influences: - **Speed and Power:** The album’s hallmark is its blistering speed. Tracks like "Ace of Spades" and "The Hammer" are proto-thrash masterpieces that laid the groundwork for future genres like thrash metal[2][4]. - **Bluesy Undertones:** Songs such as "Fast and Loose" and "The Chase Is Better Than the Catch" showcase blues-inspired grooves fused with heavy distortion. - **Riffs and Solos:** Eddie “Fast” Clarke’s guitar work is exceptional throughout the album. His riffs are raw yet catchy, while his solos are concise and impactful. The title track’s iconic riff is one of the most recognizable in rock history[1][2]. - **Bass as Lead Instrument:** Lemmy’s distorted bass tone drives many tracks. It’s not just a rhythm instrument but often serves as a lead element, as heard in the opening of "Ace of Spades"[4]. - **Drumming:** Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor provides frenetic yet tight drumming that complements the album's high-octane energy. While the album’s musical intensity is one of its greatest strengths, it also results in a lack of variety. Many songs follow similar structures—fast verses, catchy choruses, short solos—which can make them blur together over repeated listens[1]. --- ## **Production** The production on *Ace of Spades*, handled by Vic Maile at Jackson's Studios in England, captures Motörhead's raw energy while maintaining clarity: - **Raw Yet Polished:** The sound is stripped-down but not sloppy. Each instrument is distinct in the mix—Lemmy’s bass roars without overpowering Clarke’s guitar or Taylor’s drums[1][4]. - **Live Feel:** The production retains a live performance vibe, which enhances the album's visceral impact. - **Limitations:** Some critics argue that while the production suits Motörhead’s no-frills style, it lacks dynamic range or experimentation[1]. --- ## **Themes** Thematically, *Ace of Spades* embodies rebellion and excess: - **Living on the Edge:** Gambling serves as a central metaphor for risk-taking across tracks like "Ace of Spades" and "The Chase Is Better Than the Catch." - **Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle:** The album glorifies hard living—drinking, touring, and defying societal norms. - **Rebellion:** Songs like "Shoot You in the Back" channel outlaw imagery to reinforce themes of defiance. These themes resonate strongly with fans but offer little nuance or introspection. The focus remains firmly on external action rather than internal reflection[2][4]. --- ## **Influence** The impact of *Ace of Spades* on music cannot be overstated: - **Thrash Metal Foundations:** Its speed and aggression inspired early thrash metal bands like Metallica and Slayer. - **Crossover Appeal:** By blending punk energy with heavy metal power, Motörhead bridged two subcultures. - **Enduring Legacy:** The title track became an anthem for rock rebellion and remains one of the most celebrated hard rock songs ever. Its influence extends beyond metal to punk rock bands like The Ramones[3][4]. - **Cultural Impact:** Lemmy’s larger-than-life persona became synonymous with rock 'n' roll itself. Despite its influence, some critics argue that Motörhead’s formulaic approach limits their broader appeal. While groundbreaking at its release, subsequent albums did little to evolve their sound. --- ## **Pros** 1. **Iconic Title Track:** "Ace of Spades" alone justifies the album's legendary status. 2. **Unrelenting Energy:** Every track brims with intensity and attitude. 3. **Influential Sound:** A blueprint for thrash metal and speed metal. 4. **Raw Production:** Captures Motörhead’s live energy effectively. 5. **Memorable Riffs and Solos:** Eddie Clarke delivers some of his finest guitar work. --- ## **Cons** 1. **Lack of Variety:** Many songs follow similar structures and tempos. 2. **Shallow Lyrics:** Themes are repetitive and lack depth. 3. **Filler Tracks:** Songs like "Fire Fire" and "Dance" feel underwhelming compared to highlights. 4. **Limited Experimentation:** The album sticks rigidly to Motörhead’s established formula. --- ## Conclusion *Ace of Spades* is a quintessential heavy metal album that captures everything Motörhead represents: speed, power, rebellion, and raw authenticity. While it has its flaws—repetitiveness being chief among them—it remains an enduring classic that solidified Motörhead's place in rock history. For fans seeking unfiltered rock 'n' roll fury or those tracing the roots of thrash metal, *Ace of Spades* is essential listening. Its pros far outweigh its cons, ensuring its legacy as one of heavy metal's defining works even 45 years after its release.

This is just about on the good side of 80s metal, which is an era of this genre that is notoriously hit and miss. Beyond a few weird lyrics and somewhat cheesy songs, this album still slaps and is definitely an essential listen for any metal fan.

I love gambling

The title track is an all time classic. It really combines the energy of punk with the hard hitting nature of heavy metal. I think one certainly can question some of the other material on the record, as some of it is of its time -- "Jailbait" anyone? -- but that said, they put down a marker for what could be, and what is, and what will be.

It was what I expected

I’m rocked pretty good by this

Pretty good if you like ferocious riffs, blistering solos, and lyrics screamed through a throat worn down by years of booze and cigarettes. Hopefully the lyrics on Jailbait are just tongue in cheek! Not a lot of variety, but what they do, they do well.

1001 times.

Hell yeah 🤟

Nothing can beat an ace of spades in its prime!

kinda rocking

Love the band's raw energy.. the speedy, blistering guitarwork and fast paced drums. It's rock&roll on a high-octane mixture.

They were good at what they did!

This is what rock n’ roll is about! Not every song is high class songwriting in the vein of the title track and Roadcrew, so I can’t quite five it.

Listened to the 40th anniversary master. Ace of Spades kicks things off at 100 mph and it never really slows down for long. Love Me Like a Reptile keeps things going with a big riff and pretty good solo too. Fire Fire might be my favorite song on the album, great drum fill leading into the solo and a killer outro riff. Jailbait is up there too and so is The Chase Is Better Than The Catch, which actually opts for a midtempo groove to great effect. Overall, lots of energy and the production sounds good. Not the most varied album and not all the songs are terribly memorable, but it's still a dozen solid tracks from a legendary band.

This isn't really metal, and Lemmy doesn't really have a metal voice, more like an explanatory rasp, loud and heavy b/c he wants to talk thru the noise and tell us what's up. Popular among the punks, and self-proclaimed to be nothing more than a rock-n-roll band, Motörhead wore a not-quite-metal aesthetic that isn't exactly news. But it is significant. It even borders on hardcore sanguinity on 'Live to Win,' venting the noble lines: 'You mustn't shout it out loud / Don't create a scene / Don't indulge in being proud / It only feeds their scheme.' That's excellent and true. (If only other metal acts would listen to this sage and sensible advice, ahem, Marilyn Manson.) What this album lacks is variety, however, and what it unfortunately boasts is the dreadful 'Jailbait.' Mainly tho, it has a palatable and honest aesthetic. I can't say it's entirely my thing, but it sure the hell blows AC/DC out of the water, and I can imagine myself returning to it, if only to feel a bit mucky.

Great rock

It's good but I'm not really a fan of rock

Lemmy is God.

Pretty good. Not exactly my cup of tea. But I was feeling the raw intensity of it.

Aight let’s listen to some Motorhead! (I missed a few but I’ll listen to them later) First is Ace of Spades. What can I say that hasn’t been said? It’s their best song? Like the tap dancing solo in the middle Next is Love me Like a Reptile. I like that rattlesnake sound at the beginning. Did they rip off King Gizz? /j Good song! I like to think it’s about how Lemmy is into scalies. Also “Shock you like an electric eel”. Did they rip off MGMT? /j Next is Shoot You In the Back. Another rattlesnake sound! And it’s about cowboys! And it got a wah wah solo! Next is Live to Win. Very punky intro. And ANOTHER Rattlesnake sound??? Y’all gotta chill with the vibraslaps. Very inspiring lyrics about living life to the fullest. Next is Fast and Loose. Very bluesy with a shuffle feel. Reminds me of Deep Purple. Another song about sex. Weird lyrics about waking up someone by having sex with them. Tho the lyrics do imply that it’s consensual, so okay I guess. Next is We Are the Road Crew, an ode to roadies. Which makes sense cuz Lemmy was once a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, Keith Emerson, etc. before he joined Hawkwind. Opening Side 2 is Fire, Fire. Another sex song with lots of references to fire and catching on fire and stuff. Also nice pun with “I’m a match for you” And the double bass drumming! Next is Jailbait. Oh no…. Well the riff inspire the battle theme of Final Fantasy 7. And it starts with some funny studio chatter. But OH GOD LEMMY STOP SINGING ABOUT UNDERAGE GIRLS. Finally that’s over. Next is Dance. A song about Dancing. Very rockabilly inspired. Lyrics are not the best to. Next is Bite the Bullet. Funny studio chatter where they do a false start. And another rattlesnake sound! Lyrics about breaking up with a woman. Pretty short. Guitar solo has some chorus/flanger on it, which is nice. Next is The Chase is Better than the Catch, which is apparently one of the bigger songs in this album, given that in their last concert before Lemmy died, they played only that and Ace of Spades from this album. Rather rollicking beat that’s slower than the usual songs. But it rocks hard. Nice jam outro with a bass solo. Finally is the Hammer. Another rollicking song a la Ace of Spades. I thought the lyrics seemed a bit rapey at first, but apparently it’s about drugs or a serial killer or something. Nice octave effect on the guitars on the solo. That’s the album! Technically some releases have three bonus tracks, including one with the members of Girlschool (an all female metal band), but I’m just listening to the original album. Pretty good! I’d give it a 4.5/5, but that jailbait song docked a point off of it. I hate it when old rock bands sing about how much they love fuckin kids.

I dont know what happened to metal in the 80's but it wasnt for the better. Ibe had so much sleazy and nasty late 80's metal and this comes along and both predates them and blows them out of the water. Hard driving guitars, growling lyrics about fighting and gambling, brilliant drumming, lots of denim and leather and moustaches. These are a few of my favourite things.

It is a classic

Great metal album this went on to sculpt the whole thrash movement

Love it, Motorhead slaps.

"Ace of Spades" is one of the best heavy metal tracks of all time. It is a canonball fired with too much gunpowder and on a mission to rip, tear, and destroy. I love the song because it's also inherently bluesy and it's like Lemmy and Co. are saying "yea we are badass but we are also musical and oh yea- my rough grumble is going to deliver you a hook that is actually going to be catchy." This album suffers from being one of those "the standout track is amazing and the rest is good", but fortunately the songwriting quality of the songs don't falter past "Ace of Spades", they just don't have that one magical thing. Without the title track, this would be a nice 3/5. "(We Are) The Roadcrew", "Dirty Love", "Love Me Like a Reptile", "Shoot You In the Back" are all solid songs from one of the most beloved heavy metal bands ever. Outside of this album, they do have other tracks that are truly great (nothing to the level of "Ace of Spades"), but they suffer from being split across multiple albums which makes their inclusion on this hard. I do however think this was the obvious pick. Lemmy is God. RIP.

This album sees Motorhead at their pek, I reckon. Rousing, stirring, fast, heavy - I get Lemmy's insistence that this is rock'n'roll and not a record that fits some of the other metal labels. Probably foreshadowed speed metal. Best track is the title track, but really other than that the album is a bit let down by the lyrics.

Very nice album. One downside is that the songs sound the same 4/5

There’s only one speed to this album, and every song is pretty much like the next, but I like it.

The song Ace of Spades is a 5* song. I've loved it for a long time. The rest of this album is good if you like the genre, for sure. But it all sounds pretty similar. Given Lemmy's status as a Metal God and progenitor of fast, heavy music, he deserves all the praise he gets, as far as I'm concerned. I'm lucky that I got to see him before he died. RIP, Lemmy.

Why do certified lowlifes make such great music?

first listen i liked the grindy bass

Love it

Hell yeah. Is this… punk? metal? is this what thrash metal is? I don’t know exactly but it’s rockin 🤘 Is it formulaic, repetitive and simplistic? It is, but the formula works for Motörhead for no other reason than it feels like they really mean it. It is so formulaic and repetitive even that it makes it hard for me to pick out songs that stand out for better or worse… I think the title track and “Fast and Loose” were probably my favorites. “Jailbait” and “The Chase is Better Tahn the Catch” are uhh not songs that could be released today and were my least favorites cuz the lyrics are just a bit beyond what I can excuse in the name of hell yeah. Overall this is short and loud and fast and is just very… something. I’m not sure what it is but I appreciate it. I would listen to this again 7.5/10

Motorhead crawled out of hell and its glorious

Very good

Perfect for a Sunday morning!

This is not too bad. It isn't an album I would put on often but I could imagine listening to it again

This is a fun album

Most motorhead motorhead.

We Are) The Road Crew).

Powerful and fun, just like I remember it.

This is an essential album for the early days of metal. Motörhead nails the dirty, low-down, heavy vibe that is at the core of metal to a tee, and that is on full display throughout this record. It accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. Some of it doesn’t age the best, but all in all it’s and excellent record. Notable Tracks: - Ace of Spades - one of the great hard rock songs ever written - Shoot You in the Back - Fast and Loose - bluesy vibe - Bite the Bullet 8/10

Brilliant. The power, the energy, the excitement.

Solid, ground breaking, unforgettable 4 stars

Excellent

Really good rock album

Another album I have never really put on to listen to. But excellent to hear a bit more of Motorhead.

I first saw Motörhead perform in 1984 on the British comedy show The Young Ones. Even then I always considered them more hard rock/punk rockers rather than the mislabelled heavy metal. Revisiting this album continues to confirm that. Short, no frills rock n roll songs made for the sole purpose of having fun, drinkin’, smokin’ and screwin’.

Everything you want from some good ol’ hard rock. Great riffs, solid solos and a voice that sounds like it’s been through some shit and will kick your ass just because. Non stop head banging 🤘🔥

Lemmy: what if we just rock out and I growl some lyrics? Band: 4* idea! I’m sure most peeps think of MH as straight hard rock/metal, but this sounds a bit punk rock to me! Solid rock vibes. Let’s all just ignore that weird Jailbait song. Thx. 3.75/5

Cant help but love it!

Surprising. 4/5

87% Best: Ace of Spades, Live to Win, Fire Fire, The Chase Is Better Than the Catch, The Hammer Must-Hear? Yes

Every song sounds the same.

Favorite Track: The Chase is Better Than The Catch

Lots of energy and catchy tunes. I probably liked this more than I should have. I am going to put this on the 4 side of 3.5

forte 4.

I'm docking a star for Jailbait because...ew

Wtf was up with Jailbait

I was once in the crowd of a festival set for Metallica in the 90s. I turned to a guy and said 'How good is this?' and he said, "Fuck yeah, the second best metal band in the world." I asked him who the best was, and he turned and looked at me like I was an idiot. "Motorhead, dude." At the start of this album, I could almost agree with him. Opening with Ace of Spades sets a cracking pace. It's hard to beat though. I don't like their slower' stuff as much, but Bite the Bullet is fun and The Hammer rocks 'along pretty hard. I wouldn't be disappointed to hear most of these tracks again. Three stars, plus a bonus cos Lemmy was a fricken legend.

There’s a few songs here in which the subject matter would get these boys into trouble theses days but aside from that this is Lemmy and his crew at their finest. A worthy listen.

I think Motorhead has one, if not the most recognizable lead vocals in the world of hard rock/metal. And "Ace Of Spades" is a great example and the headbanging classic.

Are the lyrics great? No, not at all. Is this album a perfect example of fun, mindless metal? You betcha. Should they never have recorded "Jailbait"? Absolutely. Personal enjoyment: 4/5 Relevance to this list: 4/5

For an album that was released in 1980, Motörhead’s sound is definitely ahead of its time. Probably pretty heavy upon release, these guys are definitely the forefather of the Nickelback sound (whether you like them or not). High tempo and driving beat. Great for pump up music in the gym. Definitely gonna keep this one in the collection. Mid 4

I know the title track. Excited to listen to the rest of this album.

Essentially Ace of Spaces 12 times.

Why yes I played Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3

Motörhead is a one trick pony, but a fun one.

Haven’t listened to this in a while but kinda enjoy it even though it’s all same same

They do one thing. They do it well.

Sometimes you don't need to listen too deep to music. Sometimes you just need something to rock out to. Something in the car to tell with. For those moments you go punk or you go Rock 'n' fucking Roll. For the latter: There's Ace Of Spades

First half of the album is sick, Ace of Spades is iconic. Jailbait lost me though, pretty creepy song... and the songs afterward about love and the chase all got coloured with that creepy vibe.

Badass title track. Pretty punk rock actually. Not as much my taste anymore but I gotta go with a 3.5+ for Lemmy.

For me, if it's gonna be metal, 3 or 4 power chords & a baritone is where it's at. As for the lyrics, good for a laugh.

an album doesn’t have to be complex to be good, and Ace of Spades proves it. there’s no concept or interconnected storyline, it’s just a full album of straight bangers that doesn’t let up until the end. what more can you really ask for? 4/5

Ace of spades na zawsze 11/10. Cała płyta na 4/5.

Solid thrashy metal. Gotta love Lemmy.

Ace of Spades - 5 Love Me Like a Reptile - 4 Shoot You in the Back - 4 Live to Win - 4 Fast and Loose - 4 (We are) The Roadcrew - 4 Fire Fire - 4 Jailbait - 4 Dance - 4 Bite the Bullet - 4 The Chase is Better - 4 The Hammer - 4 Every song sounds the same. Good garage music.

Solid hard rock

dope, rocked out

Ace of Spades (the song) is a great, rockin' tune. Good thing too, since they repeat it several more times on this album with slight variations and different titles. The whole album rocks - it's hard to deny that. A couple of things hold it back from a 5/5, the singer's extremely limited vocal range and some of the creepy lyrics (see Jailbait). I'll probably listen again. Best track: Ace of Spades

Fast. Loud. Very nice.

I think my fondness for the song “Ace of Spades” might be clouding my judgement but I really enjoyed this, at least the front half

Shabby, dirty, gritty, and blunt. Fuck good vocals, masterful instruments and complex compositions. Rock and roll with a punk soul. I really like the stile and attitude, but musically this album can't reach beyond 3 stars.

i've never listened to motorhead, with the exception of the odd song incidentally over the years (playing rock band, etc). i'm not usually a huge metal guy but i enjoyed myself here. this album whips ass! the album is hard rocking and frenetic, like a huge runaway train barreling down the tracks. i don't know if i'm sold on the lead vocals themselves, but they certainly add to the aggressive nature of the music and i do much prefer them to a lot of the more modern, growly vocals i've heard from more modern metal bands. in particular, i really enjoyed the musicianship exhibited here. the drumming is precise and clean, while having an aggressive, loose feel. the guitar work here soars, and the bass playing holds everything together while managing to be high flying and exciting. you can tell everyone here is in sync with one another and firing on all cylinders. i think i could really start to enjoy this album on multiple listens. good stuff!

I can’t believe that I never listened to a whole Motörhead album before. I think I would have listened to them a foot bit back when I was younger. This is just good old school heavy rock. And I will most likely listen to them again, but only a song or two. A whole album is just too much of the same for me now.

It is what it is. I wouldn’t play Motörhead often, but I am glad that they exist. Ace Of Spades is and always will be a classic. The rest follows on from that, with varying degrees of interest. One of a kind.

The titular track is legendary but the entire album sounds like a live album - just back-to-back metal asskickery. One of the strongest metal albums I've ever heard and I really enjoyed every song, even if they were all kinda same-y. It just was a great high energy album - highly recommend!

Ace of Spades, the iconic album by Motörhead, is a relentless onslaught of raw power and attitude. Released in 1980, it remains a defining moment in heavy metal history. From the thunderous title track to the blistering Jailbait, the album is a showcase of Motörhead's signature sound: fast, loud, and unapologetic. Lemmy Kilmister's gravelly vocals and distorted bass lines drive the songs with unparalleled intensity. Tracks like (We Are) The Road Crew and The Chase Is Better Than the Catch capture the essence of life on the road with relentless energy. The album's stripped-down production adds to its gritty charm, making every riff and drum beat hit with maximum impact. Ace of Spades is not just an album, but a statement of defiance and rebellion. It influenced countless bands and helped define the sound of heavy metal for generations to come. Its legacy is undeniable, cementing Motörhead's status as one of the most legendary and influential bands in rock history. NUMBER OF BANGERS - 8 STAND OUT TRACK - Ace of Spades

As classic as it is, and yes I know it’s a Motörhead record, I am same-y’d out by the end of Ace of Spades’ runtime. That said, it is indeed still a classic album with some of the bands best, most vicious, and most completely and exquisitely Motörhead songs of their decades-spanning catalog. I would probably take Overkill before this one, but Ace of Spades is one of heavy music’s most exemplary pieces to showcase accessible tunefulness behind hardened vocals and eardrum blasting instrumentals. 8/10

Very raw album. It's not on my regular rotation for whatever reason. Some songs on here are really good though. Will I listen to again: 80%

It's good but it is all very samey. Also I don't want to give Jailbait a 5. The less said about that the better.

Loud raucous rock and roll at breakneck speed. I’m all in for it.

I feel like I should be sitting at a dive bar with a Miller High Life in my hand listening to this.

Ace of Spades is an essential, gateway, heavy rock record to lead listeners to the glory that is metal.

I can't deny Motörhead's influence and Lemmy's eternal cool. But I'm not hyped to listen to the linked deluxe version of this record; if there's one thing I've always felt about Motörhead it's that their particular brand of song sameness wasn't enough to convert me from Ace of Spades admirer to full on fan. Don't get me wrong, this record is much better than many others on the list. Ace of Spades is a classic that rises above the rest of the record and the rest of the record is good overall. We are the Road Crew, Shoot You in the Back, Love Me like a Reptile, and, sexual politics aside, The Chase is Better than the Catch are all strong songs. Even the lesser material e.g. Fire Fire and Live to Win are decent. The only regrettable listen on the record is Jailbait's lyrics. And, yet, for this exercise I don't need to hear alternate or BBC versions of these songs. I like to get into the headspace of the original album release where possible. Give me as close to what someone first hearing this album when it came out got. I want that experience. I bet this record absolutely floored people in 1980.

Man Lemmy rules, this album rules. Just a quick 36 minutes of rock. Love it.

Title track has always been a favorite. Rest of the album is pretty formulaic and the lyrics are ridiculous. That said, solid metal/punk from start to finish. -1 for Jailbait tho (yikes).

If you've heard one Motorhead album you've kind of heard them all. That being said, this is good. It's like if Black Sabbath was a punk band.

Straight forward heavy rock. Catchy!

the singing wasn't great but the guitar riffs were excellent. overall liked the songs but not as strong near the end. some of the lyrics were pretty sketchy as well

Hellyeah!

Snilldarplata. Lemmy er svo mikill rokkari. Ace of spades stendur alltaf fyrir sínu.

Having not heard any song by Motorhead, other than Ace of Spades, I found it interesting to listen to the rest of their catalog. While this album does have a feel of "sameness" after a while, it is still a really great rock album. As weird as it may sound, Motorhead isn't as thrashy and loud as I thought they may have been. They have a song like Thin Lizzy, though they are less poppy and more metal than Thin Lizzy. What I like about these songs is how compact they are. The songs are not long and get right to the point without leaving any excess space in the listener's ears. The first half of the album is stronger than the second half. I know we are getting the Live at Hammersmith album from Motorhead as well, which rumor has it may be their best album. I'm excited to hear that one, but for now, I think this is a crucial album to listen to. It's a sound not thoroughly explored in 1980 and paves the way for other hard rock acts of the 80's.

Classic heavy rock

This was probably one of the best hard rock albums I’ve listened to. Guitar, drums, raspy vocals are all killer. Ace of spades being the opener to the album literally sets the bar with how the rest of the album will go. No moments of let up or slow down. 3.92

A 5 star record marked down to 4 because of one song

I have heard this album, and still remember the energy around it. It's message isn't for me. I don't relate to the lyrics at all. I do enjoy the soundscape though. Would I recommend it? Probably, but with some caveats.

This was loud enough to block out the building work in my office so I am grateful. Quite enjoyed it tbh

Great classic energetic rock album

Woof. I was expecting noise and I got a phenomenal band. Don't like the singing but no other vocals would work.

Classic metal album!

Punk rock baby!

The Velvet Underground of heavy metal. Hard to think of much happening in the thrash/speed metal scenes without Lemmy's discovery that turning the speed up to 11, keeping the songs to 3 minutes and the solos to 20s was a winning formula. Two absolute classics in the title track and We are The road Crew, but like many rock bands of the time their best album is live (No Sleep, also on this list I think).

Really liked hearing what sounds like generic/universal guitar lines now in their original context, and used in pretty interesting ways

I like the guitar and some of these songs but it almost all has same sound like ACDC. I am a rocker though so Im giving 4 cause if you are a rocker then you’ll probably enjoy this since this is probably the best Motörhead has to offer.

Really solid

Masterpiece!

Ace of Spades deserves its spot near the top of any list. The rest of the album is mostly new to me.

This is a completely uncomplicated rock album - verse / chorus / verse / chorus / solo / verse / chorus and on to the next track - but its very good at it. Yes, some of the lyrical content are crass or pretty objectionable, but this is Motorhead, and they play rock and roll.

Loud, fast, raucous, heavy, unrelenting rock and roll. Ace of Spades is Motorhead encased in amber, remembered for eternity with one of the greatest opening songs in heavy metal, while showcasing songs worth the equal weight and esteem. The epitome of all killer, no filler, and no time wasted whatsoever; this is the only card you need. Favorites: Ace of Spades, Love Me Like a Reptile, Live to Win, Fast and Loose, Fire Fire, Jailbait, The Chase is Better Than the Catch, The Hammer.

Lemmy you beautiful bastard

This album is unrelenting. Its like a motorcycle ride through a post-apocalyptic baron wasteland. Like Mad Max! Yeah that's what i meant. Loved it!

I would listen again

I was surprised the stuff isn't that heavy anymore for my ears. Like it.

Ace of Spades is such a good song. I’ve heard that song many times but it has not yet worn out its welcome. The rest of the album is solid, but Ace of Spades is the only five star song on the album.

It’s hard to say what’s going to grab me, sometimes a straight ahead rock band will bore me, or their lyrics will offend me. This one really clicked for some reason. With the exception of the horrid Jailbait, I really dug all these songs. Ace of Spades is great of course and the others worked for me as well. Good stuff.

This ripped.

I think this is the first metal album I've ever listened to, aside from a handful of songs I've played in Guitar Hero, and I have to say I see the appeal. This album is pure energy from start to finish. The lead singer doesn't bring the greatest range to the table, but the uniqueness of his voice does enough to fill his role. Drums are kicking the whole time, the guitar drives the songs right alongside. It's not an album I could put on whenever/wherever, but given the right time and place I think it'd fit like a glove. Highlight: Ace of Spades Lowlight: Live to Win Surprise Hit: Love Me Like a Reptile

Hot Take: this fucking rocked

Hell yeah.

Volume at max .. and go!

Known before: Band Standouts: 01. Ace of Spades 11. The chase is better than the catch Rating: 7.0

Lemmy is an Icon. When I hear this I think of the Young Ones. I wouldn’t put this on but always great to hear.

all the songs sound the same but in the best possible way (hi neil young, ramones, mark kozelek)

Not as crazy as I expected, fun and energetic album. Ace of Spades the song is classic but the overall album holds it's own.

Lemmy and co come through with some heavy, gritty riffs. A rock classic. Some lyrics, especially those on the song Jailbait, are pretty rough and uncomfortable. I've read that it may have been satirical, but if it is I have a hard time hearing it as such. A shame too, because it's an otherwise good song. *heard before

Bold move to open the album with it's best song by far, because none of the following songs reach those heights, but very good all things considered. Motörhead rocks.

I wouldn't have picked this out for myself, but it's a really enjoyable listen. Will add to my rotation.

already knew that one. initially great, but it gets boring soon.

stating the obvious: this.album.rocks. I love that this came out in 1980 which to me is the start of new wave music dominance and here you have a heavy metal album that is unrelenting and loud. solid album.but a star off for jailbait- a horrid song that is best forgotten.

11/17/23. This album kicks you in the ass! Big sound coming from only three people, and every song is perfect for an energy rush. I wouldn’t listen to this casually, but definitely for anytime I need a pick up.

my ears are bleeding blue. the world is a great place.

Facemelting

Sounds like riding a motorcycle through the desert. Pretty solid rock, though every song kinda all sounds the same. That sound was good, but too similar for that many tracks
