Here was my progression in listening to this. *Track one I want to kill myself and potentially also kill my children so that they would never accidentally have to listen to this. *Track two Maybe this isn’t that bad. It’s not exactly the best jazz I’ve ever heard but it’s OK. *Track 3. Nope back to child murder it’s the only humane thing to do *track 4. I do not know what it sounds like because I’m either dead or in jail for the aforementioned child murder

As a fan of late career Dylan there is a lot I appreciate here. A broken voice. An obsession with legacy and mortality. I think Dylan does it better but he is bob Dylan. I found the title track to be too much. The Russian choir, the bass, his voice. It just felt like an album of this would be too much. But then I liked it a lot more after that.
Will stick with my review from chat. I Never really liked Morrissey, and never listen to the Smiths. Having listen to the record now, it’s not that I don’t like it, is that it really doesn’t stand out for me in anyway. I think of it up in something that I had love in the 80s, I could still see enjoying it. I don’t think it is aged poorly. But I don’t think it has a lot it really invites me to watch explore more his music.
2 stars for side A and 4 stars for side B
OK, I listened to the whole thing, and I have tried. But this album is just hot fucking garbage. It’s a bunch of terrible mid 2000s Pop hard rock bullshit.. But really it just sounds like every other crappy rock band that I only heard when I got to the movies early and had to listen to the stupid commercials and rock soundtrack that they advertise while you wait. It’s just boring.
It’s fun. A high 3 stars.
Highs are super high. But some bad songs.
Mid
I tried. I really did. But it’s so boring
It’s not horrible because it’s Tony Lee Hooker an amazing guests. But seems like a very past his prime album to put on here
I like queen’s singles. But I just can’t get through a whole album
Two two
A 38 minute album that feels like 3 hours. Ugh
I am not an ABBA fan. But I like this more than I thought. Still only three stars for me but a high three
Is someone born in 1975 I grew up with James Taylor. My parents played this all the time. There was a time when I was very little when I loved it. Then there wasn’t much longer time when I hated everything about it. Now that I’m older I think I can say that I’ve settled somewhere in between. there are some all-time classic on the album. But it’s not something that I would like to pass on to my children
Somehow I did not know this album before this project. Now I love it. I own it on vinyl. I listen to it all the time. One of the top 10 “discoveries“ for me
Ugh
Maybe you don’t have to include EVERYTHING wu tang members did in the mid 90s
It like the Hives…but less fun
I generally don’t think I like the cure but I actually liked this so maybe I do like the cure
Climbs above 1 star die Beautiful Day. Otherwise the corporate rock phase of U2 does not need to be listened to
Sex funk done right
I believe this is the third Portishead album we’ve had on his list. Which is just effing ridiculous. Especially considering how many artists get one random throw away selection but otherwise ignore it. This is just boring
Love the Hives but why wouldn’t you just put an album on here?
As Homer Simpson would say “boring”
Some great moments, but ultimately too much of it is unfocused to reach the highs of his White Stripes work
I don’t like the cure
So much fucking fun. Peak Timbaland production. Missy being great. And the entire album is just dedicated to old school fun hip hop. Love it
I am bored. So bored
This is exactly the kind of album that tries me crazy. How was this group on this list twice
I really love the science, but this album is not essential
Way more Tom Waits and Randy Newman than I was ey
Soul music with no soul
Sounds like an AI generated Radiohead album
A 5 star record marked down to 4 because of one song
Too many albums from this group. One album is enough
This list is so bloated with this kind of shit.
Better than I remember
Beautiful. But not her best work
4 Star album from a 1 star human
Enjoyed this. But also constantly couldn’t not recall a single song
The first truly great rap album
Editors of the 1001 “ hey we should put some Bee Gees albums on here” “ Do you like super famous late 70s disco albums?” “ no, they have a late 60s concept album about a ship”. “
I am pretty sure this album got me pregnant, and I’m a man! It’s not my favorite Marvin Gaye album, other than the title track which is obviously an all timer, but there’s still so much greatness here
This was a massive album that hit me just in the post college. I already love a lot of Brit pop. I already loved fuzzed out guitars and distortion. Everything about this album I should’ve loved. But at the time I didn’t. I remember listening to it and never pulling the trigger on buying it myself. And honestly I still feel the same way. It’s fine. I certainly don’t hate it. But I just think it’s completely overrated
This list is ridiculous sometimes
No. Hell fucking no
Don’t get it
What the hell did I just listen to! Nobody could say that was boring that’s for sure. I don’t know that I would seek it out again. And this list has entirely too much psychedelic music. But that was certainly worth listening to
Underrated
One of those bands I had heard of but never listened to before this project. This the second album on the list. Good stuff.
I knew was gonna hate this before I even put it on
It’s hard for me to believe there are two albums by this artist on this list considering how the artists rate or one album.
It’s the pinnacle of Ska. But Ska is kinda boring
Zzzzzz.
Listening to this on the way home. I feel like I am in the Matrix, if instead of fighting computer generated bad guys and looking cool the matrix was about a middle aged guy driving his 2015 Honda Accord home to the suburbs. It started good. But got very repetitive
It’s enjoyable and something different
Fuzz out deliciousness
Why. Are. There. So. Many. Late 70s punk bands from England on this list?!
I tried. Really, I tried. To engage with this is some sort of lost masterpiece or something. To appreciate some theatricality or some musicality or some point of view. But really this does just sound like a terrible theater kids attempt to be a singer songwriter.
The hip-hop choices on this list are frankly bizarre. I don’t really understand why this would be included so many other omissions. Having said that I still enjoyed it
I just don’t care for it
I don’t have any problem with Thin Lizzy. And jailbreak is a great album. But I don’t know that we need a live album too
Absolute unexpected. Had no idea who the people were. But very good out. Especially love the drummer
Not essential
Tainted love is an all timer. The rest? Not as much
The second I started listening to this album I thought to myself “oh God, this is the kind of shit some douche bag from pitchfork with a foldable bicycle who hates kombucha ever since it’s sold out think is awesome“. And, of course it is!. It’s also the kind of shit that this list has absolutely tons of when so many other genres are under represented or not represented at all. Having said that I can’t hate this album, this was great. I’m not giving it five stars but a solid four star album and Something I’m definitely gonna listen to again
I’m tempted just to give this five stars because of all the snarky comments about how it “sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd“ but I’m going 4
Garbage. And not the good garbage like the band Garbage. Actually garbage
I don’t love
I don’t think this is why people listen to The Beach Boys
Everything that’s annoying about this list.
Good stuff.
I with the kids at school that likes butthole surfers, and I have to admit I was always curious but never checked out the van. Now I realize it wouldn’t have been for me anyway. I suspect that the name of the band had a lot to do with it’s cult popularity popularity
I hate prog. It doesn’t have killer tracks.
I mean I am not a huge Swift fan but this is all killer no filler
Adams is a dirtbag. But also his music isn’t really that good
Yikes. No
Look, I like Radiohead. I think Radiohead has many five star albums. I think Radiohead is a group that deserves multiple entries on this list. But Jesus Christ they put every freaking Radiohead album they ever made on here while completely ignoring other artists. So if you have to pass on one of their 17 submissions, I might make it this one
I am sorry but I really hate the cure. I’ve always hated the cure. It’s been 30 years since I’ve listened to the cure. I thought maybe something had changed. It has not
Not for me
Can’t hate on this it’s like 3.51 stars, so rounding up
Generally not my kind of thing, but this is just so well done
I mean there’s some serious schmaltz on this album. But you can’t deny that there’s a lot of classics on this too. He reminds me my parents. In a good way. Doesn’t mean I wanna listen to it very often, but I can’t hate on it either
Better than expected
I really hate Rush. I don’t hate this though.
Fuck no
Not. My. Thing.
Where others may say Husker Don’t, I say Husker Du.
Ugh. What? No. Ugh
I really didn’t like Foo Fighters when this came out. But I have grown to appreciate Dave Grohl over the years. In the “drummer from band goes on to solo career” I’d rank him above dingo, Collins and Henley
This is a fine album but I really question why there are like three echo in the bunnymen albums on this list. Any of them would be fine but we don’t need this many
Here was my progression in listening to this. *Track one I want to kill myself and potentially also kill my children so that they would never accidentally have to listen to this. *Track two Maybe this isn’t that bad.
