Reviews (page 6 of 7)
this took a bit to get going but its psychedelic AF after a bit and pretty trippy to listen to with headphones on. everything is panned in weird ways, lots of instruments coming and going, volume swells etc. pretty spacey, there was definitely a bit of drug use going on. 3/5
Kind of a neat, mostly instrumental album. It's a background music kind of album.
Not my taste
Felt like I was overhearing someone watching a PlayStation game in another room. 2 stars, but if I was out my nut it could be either terrifying or beautiful or both.
O.o
painfully blaugh album. super duper forgettable. doesn't help there's a 20 min track in the 40min song.
This is so lame. There are probably a thousand better prog rock, experimental releases. This is repetitive, but not repetitive enough to be droning. This features otherworldly terrible singing. This has a lousy album cover. This is on here because it's four mostly instrumental tracks. If i did that and filled the time with hippopotamus fight audio, can I grab a spot on here. Actually, that sounds like a great idea. Once I get some field recording equipment and access to particularly ornery hippos in their natural habitat, I'm about to make the great album ever recorded. Future Days are bad days. Thanks for the omen. Now CAN you get out of my sight? 1.5-2 HIGHLIGHTS: French dancing
That was weird. Not entirely unpleasant, but weird. I think I prefer Träd, Gräs & Stenar if we’re going to do late 60s or early 70s weird.
This is a weird, kinda funky album. Kinda just beats without much vocals. Maybe something soft.
Nope.
Some guys just came to jam and someone recorded it
It was kind of whatever. I appreciated it as background music, but it wasn't interesting or emotional impactful enough for me to return.
Bof bof... Assez expérimental mais au final un peu long et lent
You can be ambient if you must but you have to have actual songs. There were nice moments in some of these soundscapes or whatever they were but they didn’t last long and I couldn’t hold onto any of them long enough while listening to the album to differentiate one kaleidoscopic musical phantasmagoria from the next. I did not enjoy this.
Les sonorités sont intéressantes mais l'album ne m'a pas transcendé.
It is transcendental, it is unworldly. Also nothing special for me, it doesnt speak for any emotion that i have. I love the experimental stuff what its pretty much indifferent to me
Experimental, ambitious, extravagant
Only one song could have been played on the radio… or maybe it was one of those records that were played when the DJs needed a smoke break (which is probably why I hadn’t heard of them). But I liked it…
That was very...experimental
I don't have any acid lying around
Only managed about half of this before it got too weird and boring
I wanted to like this one, but it just did nothing for me.
There isn’t anything groundbreaking or influential in this album. It’s jammy sort of so assign it to the hippies
Interesting and experimental but if I'm honest, pretty wanky and not that fun to listen to. I was tempted to switch off long before the final 20 minute track finished
Not as bad as Tango Mago, but for 4 songs it was Miles too long.
Pretty shit but it could have been shitter
Can't
Hmm njae.
Pretty uninteresting
Not a good record, not a despicable one either, but I would have made these songs at most 5 minutes long. These are just way too long and nothing interesting really happens. I like the way these guys play their instruments but I don't like the songs at all.
a little annoying
This didn't move me at all. It very much faded into the background. Decent music for having on while doing something that requires focus, but for me there's a limit to how highly I can rate that sort of thing. The best music elicits an emotional response, and ambient music basically never does that to me
Хуй пойми о чем, 40 минут, 4 песни. Скучные. 3/10
Not my style but had some good moments
Kind of just noise to me. But it wasn't terrible noise.
70s drugs rock.
It's not my bag, baby.
no lo pude terminar de escuchar, no me gusto nada
Weird and cool, glad I listened to this once in my life! But not going to rank particularly high, as I value my desire to relisten more than the novelty.
It was interesting
I like songs to have at least some melody, or at least something to distinguish them from just 'sound'. This, for me, was the latter, and while it would have been an excellent soundtrack to something stimulating, like a nature video for example, it offers very little to keep me engaged on its own. As with anything conceptual, experimental or "important", it also has to be good and listenable. This wasn't that. I was also not a fan of the weak vocal when it came
Background music
This was overall way longer than it needed to be, I thought, however it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be i found myself able to listen to it while doing homework. I liked moonshake
Nope not into it
Not really my thing. Kinda jammy?
Not really my thing, not offensive, as some have been, but nothing I would ever buy.
This did not work for me. Alternate between boring and a little bit irritating.
Lots of noise. Some of it was tolerable, though.
Um yup, it’s ok. Odd.
Can can, can you do the can can? No, I can't.
Very whatever background music; shouldn't be on here.
I like the tribal rhythms.
i feel like i am in an acid trip and i am fully sober, what?
psychedelic rock - it’s fine but there’s much better of what it’s trying to do
Interesting album, can’t quite put ,my finger on whether I liked it or not, I see from the write up on the band, it has inspired quite a few - 1968 seems like they were well ahead of their time.
Top 3: Moonshake, Future Days, Bel Air
Not really my vibe
Not bad, easy to listen to.
What a snoozefest. For such a short album, I really checked the clock a lot.
Not bad for all instrumental but nothing great or jaw dropping.
German (pejorative). I can almost see where it's going sometimes but it never actually gets there.
ну такое. чисто из за норм барабанов ставлю не 1
Future Days - 3/5 - Spray - 2/5 Moonshake - 2.5/5 Bel Air - 3/5
2 Stars (5/15)
Dreamy, hypnotic, and somehow feels like music designed for staring at a wall while waiting for something interesting to happen. Very pretty wallpaper.
Kaum zugehört. Irgendwie wild. Gibt mir KrautRock-Vibes
I thought it might get into it, but it was the reverse. Seemed to start okay, then I got bored after a while. There's a certain chill element to it, but I'd rather listen to something else.
Not my thing at all. Super long tracks (20 minutes?!?) and it is weird
Its prog rock. It's mostly instrumental. The tracks get progressively longer. It's fine. Did I mention it's prog rock?
Oh 4 tracks, that will be quick... 40 minutes later...
Future Days is almost always interesting, but almost never enthralling. The best part of the album is the percussion, which is layered and unpredictable. I like how some tracks have multiple kinds of drums. But the percussion is also a bit subtle, meaning to fully appreciate it you have to really focus on it. The guitar is similar - it's a bit funky and makes interesting sounds, but nothing gripping or hypnotic. I'm sure there are people who can listen to this and really latch on to the subtleties and get lost in it, but my brain isn't wired that way. It's not that I think this needs to be louder or rock harder, it's more that everything is so loose while somehow also feeling restrained. And with how jammy it is, there's very little to distinguish the songs. Not a satisfying album, but not a boring one at least.
A bit to ‘cyber Jazz’ for me. Sounded like the experimental middle sections of the early Floyd songs!
Chill
One time not two
Eh more boring prog rock i'm not really into. 4/10
Naja
If nothing else, this sensation will be something completely different for your ears, but this is an experimental album even for an experimental album. Facebook Track: "Moonshake".
Best Track - "Future Days"
4/10
Much better than I expected a Krautrock album to be! Some really nice moments in this. They're unfortunately a bit buried in overlong songs that can feel quite frustrating to listen to. Challenging for me personally, but a lot of merit to this one.
I guess it’s alright - I don’t really care for psychedelic music anymore
Too odd for my tastes, but not in an offensive way unlike many experimental albums.
I like some of Can’s music but this album wasn’t my favorite.
Rating this only 1 star more than We're Only In It For the Money feels criminal, but I can't justify a bump to 3 stars. Just a mediocre boring album. 4 Laminated Denims out of 10 Lizard Wizards
I was unfamiliar with this and listened through twice. It didn't leave much of an impression unfortunately.
I didn't listen to this whole thing, just kinda browsed here and there.
This just didn't really do much for me. I generally enjoy more ambient and experimental music, but this one just didn't click. I'll have to give it another shot at some point.
Very light listening with the exception of the drums. Mostly an instrumental. Hard to recall the songs after listening.
Wieso gehört dieses Album in diese Sammlung ???
It’s just a bit dull over the length of an album. Fine to soundtrack my walk to work but nothing that I’d actively listen to.
This was odd. At times it sounded extremely 1970s and at other times very modern. The vocals, set back so much in the mix, frequently reminded me of Gorilliaz, but then Spray reminded me of Yes. John Peel, quote about Moonshake is fantastic - it was "great", but its chances of becoming a hit were "roughly comparable to his chances of being asked to join Ivy Benson's All-Girl Orchestra on harp". Everything except Moonshake could have benefited from a good trim to get to a sensible song length, especially Bel Air. I'm starting to develop a new aversion to records where one entire side of the vinyl was dedicated to a single song. Their sound weirdly started to grow on me a bit over the course of the record, so I think this would have been a 2.5 had I been allowed half stars. I'm rounding down though because no song needs to be 20 minutes long. 2/5
It's alright. It's not something I'd put on on my own. Ugh I can't with these 20 minute songs. I'm not going to get through this.
Not my kind of music
Yawn
I really hate to write this album off as just "boring", but that's the only word I could find for it after its conclusion. I did not inherently hate it, but I was not inspired or entertained by it either.
40 mins, 4 songs, longest experience to get through. Didn’t grab my attention, still a good flow just boring.
Vähän pitkästyttävä levy. Pitkiä kappaleita joissa ei oikein tapahdu mitään. Lähes kokonaan instrumentaalista rokkia. Parhaat: Moonshake
Only 4 tracks? Interesting rhythms, doesn't sound like it's from the 70s. Could have done without the vocals, 2*
3/10. Not bad at all I just didn't love it.
Interesting but not something on heavy rotation
A bit too psychedelic for me.
No way this came out 73 years ago I find it really funny how they thought future music was going to sound something like that, but the band that *actually* predicted the future of the music was the stooges. And something makes me think they didn't mean do to that Sometimes I fw things like this, sometimes don't. This time don't
I found myself wanting to rate this higher. It didn't really grab me or click in any special way. Maybe it was my day. I'm as surprised as you are
Interesting to start an album with a trap to see if a listener would like to stick with it or not. Or maybe it's a way for the listener to set their expectations lower for the first bit of the track. It's fine. I'm going a little crazy from the odd song structures that have been coming up a lot as of late. Sounds good in that 1970s way. I don't think you need to listen to this before you die.
The best thing I can say is, interesting.
Stort krautrock album.
1,6/5
Jazzy and groovy, kind of sounds like a bop it
I just couldn't really get into this album. There's some flashes of interesting stuff in here, but for the most part, the songs really didn't hold my interest.
Instrumental. Don't remember much
I guess this would have been good background music for studying back in college. But nothing I'll ever listen to again these days.
Melodic. Like as background music but would never sit down to listen to. 5/10
Like Yes's stoned cousin without the singing
Pleasant enough but too mundane and too much of it. Monotony Inc.
I have no idea how to rate something like this
This album was a trip. First song was horrible, the rest were mid. Did not get the vocal mix as I could barely hear the singer.
я обычно ставлю 1 таким релизам но тут с утра пока горели сроки, эта музыка оказалась подходящей для работы за это плюсик
Good but not memorable
Les impros jazzesques avec des effets sonores pendant 20 minutes, c'est un non négatif.
Really not for me. Probably wouldn't listen again. No real structure or pay off very jam band
More noodling
I found this extremely agitating and repetitive.
First two tracks were fun and I enjoyed the jam band sesh, but the final track Bel Air was kind of a slog. Didn't really enjoy that one and its 20 minutes which is like half of the album.
Krautrock is everything and Krautrock is nothing. Nothing is truly Krautrock. Can is Can. Do I like Can? Actually, no. Is Can experimental, I think so. Is it ambient? Not really. Is there a lot of drumming on the album? Way too much for my taste. OK, the only thing I really like about "Future Days" is the cover, and that's really cool.
I thought that this was an okay album. For experimental music, it’s not off putting at all. That said, this is not music that you’ll find yourself humming afterwards. I came away wondering if there’s a happy medium between a 3 minute song and a twenty minute one. I don’t think 4 songs averaging 10 minutes each is the answer.
Sounded like whatever Aaron Rodgers was listening to when he did ayahuasca on his darkness retreat
It’s not awful.
I’ve always been resistant to Can’s charms. Some of Vitamin C and Tago Mago do the trick, but largely reminds me of being in jam sessions that never quite hit for me. Apparently folks love this one though and while Moonshake is my thing, as a whole...sigh.
3/10
1. Future Days - 7 Solid song. Really slow build but you get this lovely drum sound into some great guitar riffs. Since this is progressive rock, you get vocals but they're never enough to overpower what's building instrumentally and that's just about the perfect touch to add another element without taking away what you're listening to transpire. 2. Spray - 4 Feel like I'm underwater the entire length of the song. Guitar sounds nice as does the light amount of drums but the song just doesn't go anywhere. First the first track is a nice progressive build into some good sounds, this track is a flat plateau of barren music. It gets considerably better at the end of the track, but you have to spend 6 & 1/2-7 minutes to get there only for it to start fading out a minute later. 3. Moonshake - 6 Good sound but a bit of a pass over track due to it's repetitive nature. Really good jamming style sound given that. 4. Bel Air - 2 Jekyll and Hyde song. Opening 2 minutes are good and then the song kinda putters along for another 2 minutes before a random tone/gear change in the track. Those aren't even the only gear changes in the song, which for much of the middle part mellows out into small noises until it finally begins to build into something 12 minutes in. By then, I feel like most people are ready to check out if they have not done so already, myself included. You're then massively disappointed with the ending that the song has eventually built towards, feeling like it's ended prematurely before going on for another minute and a half and attempt to build again ahead of a sudden fade out. Average Rating: 4.75 Adjusted to a 5-Point Scale: 2.4 Rounded Down: 2 stars
Atmospheric rock(?), few vocals
41 mins and 4 tracks, 1 of those tracks is 3 mins long and by far the most enjoyable. I get it that this was ground breaking and still sounds like the future but I don't enjoy what the future sounds like
Lidt meh. Har sikkert glemt det om 2 minutter... Yep. Husker intet..
Jeg hørte det mens jeg lavede kontorarbejde. Har glemt alt om det nu
A collection of songs that go nowhere for way too long
This album is like a Led Zeppelin outro extended to fill a full album. Bloated and unfocused. There’s an occasional glimmer. of an interesting idea, but they inevitably meander into more pointless noodling.
Some cool drumming
mmh no
First song starts with 1 minute weirdness. Four tracks. Not really a fan. Maybe need to listen more.
Each song felt like a 20 second piece of a Radiohead song stretched out to 10 minutes. (Not really a compliment)
I don't know, CAN you? In fairness, at 18 I would have given this five stars.
1 Star was very much in consideration, but there at least seems to be some talent going on here.
This was just background music and super boring unfortunately 2 ⭐️
Didn’t mind it as background music but that’s about it.
Future is pretty bleak in this realm
Favorite songs: Moonshake, Future Days Least favorite songs: Bel Air 2/5
Want to like this album more but I have to go with my feeling
point7.
For a krautrock type album this is definitely one of the better ones - still not exactly music I want to listen to.
Kind of like if Pink Floyd didn't make very interesting music. Not terrible but just too much samey jamming for the sober mind.
Track one - spacey airy melodies. Some chanting. I’m drunk on my own at home or riding a train somewhere with the sun shining over the scenery. I like it. 8 mins fly by.
Instrumental ambient music
Another one! Maybe a little bit better than Tago Mago, but eh.
Very prog, much instrument
Not my style
Endless music over and over. Sorry just don't get it
Hardly anything exciting, though it’s decent enough in spots.
Im starting to think i dont like prog
I am not a big fan of this album. I do not like it because it is really repetitive, it is also just not my favorite genre of music. I would not recommend this album.
Have you ever wanted to listen to German experimental rock music? then this is perfect for you. in my opinion this album is really bad. I don't like it because I don't like how the instruments sound. Another reason why I personally don't like it is because I don't like the pattern beat that there is. I would not recommend this album to a friend because I don't like it and feel like it's really bad so I don't think anyone else would actually like it either. I give this a solid 2 stars out of 5 stars.
the first song is alr not that good cs it don have no lyrics but wait I js heard some lyrics but ion like it its not good fo me. the second one started off uhm wha da thas wha I have to say abt the start its not good. idk bru
`Why does it sound so strange? "Future Days" started out really weird. I thought the lyrics were okay but I didn't really get the meaning. "Moon shake" was definitely better. The music was more fun and upbeat. The lyrics seem to be about slowing things down, probably in a relationship. "Bel Air" wasn't to great, the instrumentation was interesting but the singing was hard to understand. I wouldn't recommend this album.
ganz ok zum nebenher dudeln lassen
There’s been a few of these mostly instrumental, atmospheric type albums so far and I just don’t get them. This one had a few interesting points but I’d never recommend this sort of thing to anyone. It’s easy to just zone it out as background music. And while I can appreciate the odd instrumental track on an album, and I’m all for experimental and artsy stuff, but at the end of the day a whole album of vibes just doesn’t cut it. Previous albums of similar type I gave a 1 but this was more on the artsy side than those and did grab my attention a few times with some really cool melodies and sounds
I’ll give this 2 stars, which is generous because it was pretty bad. Track 3 is reasonably catchy though.
Did not care for this one at first, though by the back half it started to grow on me.
It was ok-ish
Weird.
Hippie psychedelic type music. Not the worst but wouldn't listen to it or recommend it. ANDDDDD 10 minute songs... excuse me that should be illegal... was putting me to sleep.
Arrrgggggggg..... felt like my brain was having its own audio epileptic spasms at times then it would do a 180 and was somewhat enjoyable. Don't get me wrong the whole album sucked and I would never listen to it again - but I can see this playing in a cult commune waiting room or in the ear buds of those picking sunflower seeds under a multi-coloured neon sky.
Very short album, it was ok. Nothing stood out. I do wonder how this made the list. Favourite song: moonshine was a good song Least favourite: track 1 Album artwork: Cool cover
Absoluut geen werk muziek, hier werd ik gek van
Not for me. Not absolute garbage, but not impressive enough to bump up to 3 stars.
Didn’t know what to say about this one.
Kinda weird. Not enjoyable.
..
fine
Why??
Last song had some good parts but I checked like 3 times and it was still not close to finishing.
Didn’t necessarily hate it - but it went in one ear and directly out the other. But wasn’t totally offensive.
It's not for everyone, including me
weird
I get the feeling quite a few recreational substances were prevalent during the making of this record.
I’m sure this was a blast to create, but it’s a chore to listen to. Jam bands should never record.
Not for me
Yet more late 60s/early 70s pschedelic rock - except this time it's of the 'experimental' type - meaning it's rubbish.
Ahead of its time, and it was nice it felt like one big movement of sound, but I will not be revisiting.
It gave me a bit of a headache. Not unpleasant in theory but I felt it getting to me just through the repetitiveness and choice of sounds. But maybe I'm just overcaffeinated. 2.5
I appreciate experimental and ambient music, but this just wasn't that interesting. There was nothing to hold onto so it just sorta of drifted from start to finish and left me constantly checking how long was left on it.
40 minutes of weirdness. Not bad, but not necessarily something I'd listen to again. 2.5/5
Pretty experimental for the 70s I guess but judging it by today's standards there's nothing here that stands out. Apart from maybe the length, that last song felt like an eternity. Low 2.
Boring
Cool percussion work, but overall very experimental and hard to listen to.
no thanks
I like Can but not this can
On the one side interesting, creative band from the 70s. On the other side the music flows by and I can't find anything interesting in it.
Musica instrumental/experimental. Até que interessante.
Not being on meds, I could not appreciate the noises they created. Except for when they “sang” or involved animal sounds, I was tolerant enough to round this up.
Did not enjoy.
Like, alright?
Experimental and fun
A great album for ambience, sadly not for much else. Favourite track: Spray.
Música experimental monótona. La versión remasterizada suena muy bien, para ser una grabación tan antigua. Aburrido en general.
Can is considered “German Rock”, rock is used very loosely. It’s very rhythm heavy. It’s not bad. I don’t think driving down the highway listening to it does it justice. Headphones mandatory for Future Days. 5.0/10
I know European electronic music owes a lot to the Germans with Kraftwerk and all, but this album aged a bit poorly I think. 2.5/5.
Why, why I ask is this album on the list. It is not offensive but also not really good either.
another experimental rock album & another one that I just don't get why is really on here. a strange nearly 20 minute track that just rambles on..... only positive is that the music just became blah background noise & I quit really paying attention to it.
This album was trippy- and much like an acid trip, it went on far longer than I would have liked.
This album passed me by, even when I was listening to it. Didn't really grip me at any point.
I listened to this already and gave it a 2 then. I figured it was worth another listen, and sadly, it's still a 2. It isn't bad, but I don't understand what it's going for or why it exists. 2/5
Trippy
Interessant was alles als Musik gilt. Muss man mal gehört haben, aber einmal reicht...
It was okay. I could really groove with parts of it. But largely it failed to capture my attention.
experimenzell, mehr hintergrund sls musik.
Curious. I was thinking about this band just yesterday, despite having never heard their music before. The album itself is also curious, in that, despite the tracks being really long, they kind of pass by almost unnoticed. I think there is something interesting going on, particularly in the gossamer thin vocals and airy textures of the title track, but after three listens I still haven't unearthed further treasures or really worked out what they were aiming at. I won't give this album the benefit of the doubt with my rating but I will reserve judgement on Can as a whole, as I suspect this record isn't the most appropriate introduction to them.
Inte bra men man överlevde ganska okej
You can be part of something, you can try and break into something, or you can be outside all of it, trying to create your own thing. If you’re a band like Can, you run the risk of being revered as “influential” which ends up being its own kind of label and its own version of prison you’ll never break free of because you built it yourself. But you have to know that in advance when you put 4 songs on a record, only one of which, “Moonshake,” clocks in at a digestible length—and even that one’s weird. Of course they’re German. And from the ‘60s. That makes them brave, fearless, and maybe a little dumb, or at least out of touch with the zeitgeist. This record came out the same year as “Dark Side of the Moon,” “Quadrophenia,” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” all of which have some trippy concepts, stretched out instrumentals, and embrace at least a basic level of experimentation. But the difference is, they had songs, songs with singable choruses, songs that could be played on the radio. Hats off to Can for pursuing their own thing, but they didn’t stand a chance of making much of a dent in pop culture.
Experimental rock. Not bad, but not something I’d listen to regularly
I blinked and missed this one. I think it was one long introduction.
Had the album on shuffle so prob didn’t listen to it the right way . I don’t know how I feel about it . It’s music I guess .
this album is something. it's like an experimental ambience music but without actually being ambient. It's actually nice for studying/focus, but It's not a "good" album from a jam in the car and rock out standpoint.
Bored
decent backing music + nonsensical babbling, mumbling, and whining
Pretty futuristic. But not digging it.
Interesting but meh
More ambient noise. At least this noise was slightly charming.
That's not my taste in musik. Boring
God, this was boring. No matter how many times this list makes me listen to prog rock...I'm not going to like it. 2/5
Ég man hvað mér fannst Tago Mago með Can leiðinleg plata.
That was a pleasant, but very forgettable background sound
"Future Days" by Can is a challenging and experimental album, characteristic of the band's avant-garde approach to music. Released in 1973, the album features lengthy tracks that blend elements of psychedelic rock, jazz, and electronic music. While some listeners may appreciate the album's innovative soundscapes and unconventional song structures, others may find it difficult to connect with. The lack of traditional melodies and the meandering nature of the compositions can make the album feel inaccessible and disjointed. Despite its experimental nature, "Future Days" has been praised for its influential role in shaping the sound of later experimental rock and electronic music. However, for those looking for more conventional songwriting and structure, this album may not be the most engaging listen.
Not sure what this album was or why it was on the list. It is mainly just noise. Not good or bad.
Not my jam. Reminded me of elevator music.
Meh. I don't think I'll ever be convinced a 20-minute long track is necessary.
experimental rock. Ni fú ni fá.
Weird, weird, weird.
Kannte ich nicht - und für die Entstehungzeit des Album gibt es von mir Anerkennungssterne.
Meh.
Maybe I'm being too quick to judge, but overall this was just a boring album. There are some bright spots, but I definitely did not NEED to hear this one...
This was a very out there album. In 1973 I imagine this was what people thought going to the moon would sound like. Occasional glimpses of something that sounds like music.
Pretty decent.
Cool for its time, I guess.
Why would you listen to this album, unless you are high.
I've got to be real honest, I have no idea what I just listened to. If you asked me to tell you what genre this was, I wouldn't be able to. If you asked me what any of the songs were about, I'd be at a complete loss. If you asked me to hum any part of any of the songs that I heard, I'd be completely incapable. I don't know what this was. It was music, I can tell you that. But I can't tell you anything more than that. And that, in the end, is a significant strike against this album. It's unmemorable, unclassifiable, unsingable, and ultimately unremarkable.
So so...
Best Song: Spray. I dunno. It moved and shook a bit more than the others? Worst Song: Moonshake. I mean, at least commit to a full album of sprawling prog. Don't insert a normal song smack dab in the middle. Overall: Very medium. Lots of it is directionless prog, but at least it doesn't waver into those obliquely experimental trends that are noisy or erratic just for chaos-sake. Okay for occasional background listening.
A little too slow, lyrics nonexistent
A bit too experimental for me. I did like moonshake.
Yeah, not worth mentioning.
Not my cup of tea. Seemed like elevator music, nothing too provoking.
Apart from the odd track I’ve heard on radio or has appeared on a streaming algorithm I’ve never been bothered by Can. So I welcomed this opportunity to listen constructively to a Can album. It was OK but nothing more than that. Not inspired enough to seek out any other Can album or purchase their music. My overall impression was that the record was an extended jam session. Very enjoyable to Can themselves but becoming tedious to me after a short time. As background music its OK but not worthy of inclusion on this list.
Un disco relajado, fácil de escuchar. Quizás un disco que escuchas esporádicamente, pero no con asiduidad.
What.
I’m pretty lukewarm on this one. There's only so much experimentation I can appreciate before I need something a bit mainstream to hit me. I don’t care for vocal mixing being so far back, especially for as sparse as it is. This just felt so drum heavy all the way through. That said, I did like the transition about halfway through the final track. I wish it would’ve led to a bigger payoff. We built up to something across all four tracks but never really got anywhere.
I really don't drop acid anymore.
Nope.
Interesting. Great recordings.
Why do people like Can. A few moments that were okay but the rest is just polyphonic noise.
really dull, but not actively annoying
good to work to
Kind of a "nothing" album. More of a soundscape than anything. Fav tracks: N/A
guess i was not in the mood for that. 5/10
Computer programming, not music.
Something that I just couldn't get into. Nothing like I expected.... Boring!!!!
seems to be only the 1973 release of this album, but i have NEVER heard of this band before. *can* they live up to the hype? (haha) track 1, future days: starting off with the titular song, works for me. the start to this is very... wet? yeah, wet. i enjoy the percussive rhythm that starts about 90 seconds in, although the first three minutes is mostly nature sounds - you could very easily start exactly three minutes in and lose nothing important. a very casual listen! 4.5/10 track 2, spray: also extremely low-engagement (in a good way), a nice track to have on in the background while you're paying attention to something else. 5/10 track 3, moonshake: much more upbeat (as in, the beat is faster) in comparison to the prior two. it seems they were throwing in a lot of perhaps underused sounds into this album, as a lot of the random sounds feel like they are here just to fill a space. 5/10 track 4, bel air: if the first three songs of this album were roughly 21 minutes of mostly the same, you can bet that this is 20 more minutes of decent background music. 5/10 overall: 4.9/10 -> 2/5, this album is generally inoffensive but like. why though. i feel like i just wasted 40 minutes of my life by listening to this but at least i was doing something else while i did
Odd.
It wasn’t annoying, but really just background music for me.
Another 2
oke
Inte bara kasst men heller inte tillräckligt bra
Nope
Not my type of music, but I was weirdly into it at times. I definitely appreciated the instrumentation and composition of the songs. I likely won’t listen to this again, but I can appreciate it for what it is.
Probably wouldn't listen again. I liked it but not enough
This was okay. I've heard other Can songs that I do enjoy, but nothing was really grabbing me on this one. Maybe too ambient or something for me.
Can't
Já. Veit ekki alveg. Þetta kveikir ekkert í mér, en er ekkert slæmt samt. Sá það ekki fyrir að þetta væri frá Þýskalandi.
I like psychedelic rock, but this is too psychedelic. Just kind of sounds like the band members playing different tunes, as if in sound check before a show while the drum attempts to keep a rhythm in all the chaos. Not for me.
I don’t… get it ??? Spray sounds like a bunch of high schoolers sneaking into the band room trying all the instruments. Then somewhat groovy moments. Moonshake starts of stronger but also has some questionable moments. Bel air is 20 fucken minutes long? LOL Overall tolerable but wouldn’t listen to it on purpose.
Very weird. Not a fan
Struggled with this one.
15+ minute songs aren't rlly my thing
A subpar JRPG is looking for its soundtrack.
This wasn't bad, it's just weird and dull.
Not enough for me to grab hold of here, especially sober. I think even if I was high this might annoy me a hit. Rhythm section popping off. Fave track: Moonshake
Not too special but pretty decent at times
Album 95 of 1001 CAN - Future Days Rating : 2 / 5 Favorite Track : Future Days At least it wasn't electronic. Decent background music. It doesn't offend the ear. I've heard a couple of their albums while going through the playlist and they do offer a bit of variety.
Pretty meh. Sounded like a lot of random noises set to music that I didn't really get into
There were moments that put it more at a 3, but this mostly felt dull.
Boring
It kinda faded into the background, so not much to say.
Too experimental for me
Didn't do much for me to be honest
Didn't really make an impression on me. 2/5
Interesting sound scapes, not great
Weird, overly long experimental shit from the 70s. For real, the ending track is nearly 20 minutes long. Probably would have worked better if I were high. Not my thing.
eerie, avant-garde, chaotic. it honestly sounded like goblin, but i feel like goblin did it better. liked the third song ok and it sounded the most like a “normal” song… well, as “normal” as a band like this can sound. and it was the shortest song on the album, by far. go figure.
This is weird. I don't like these really long songs. There was nothing /wrong/ with the album, but it's not for me.
It was weird.
