Very very cool album. I love the variety in style throughout, using the same Instruments (including voice) in a ton of different ways to create limitless Instruments. The spoken word style stuff never misses on this for me, even though it’s not usually my style of music, I’d say generally that my favorite parts of the album are the spoken word portions. Also extra points for heavy marimba usage and industrial percussion, honestly 5/5.

Can see how this album influenced glam rock and rock in general, and I enjoyed some of the songs, but it ultimately feels inferior to the types of bands that drew influence from them.

Pretty standard Dylan album, couple songs I really like, a couple lines that have aged incredibly poorly but nothing special overall in either direction for me
Really love Angeles and always have so slightly biased. I thought the album was a really nice listen with some good lyricism. Besides some of the guitar patterns not a lot stood out to me musically, but overall enjoyed the album despite not being anything special. Probably like 3.5/5, but I’ll round up for Angeles
Definitely didn’t hate this but it was nothing special to me, I generally like new wave but nothing about this album stood out besides the mixing being weird

The Beatles called, they want their sound back!
Like this album a lot!
nice album, nothing special
Definitely better by the velvet, but it was pretty good
I liked some of the songs but probably won’t revisit
This is fine, 2.5/5
Awesome album and performances, especially Monk and Rollins. I do prefer some of the later 60’s albums from Monk but this one’s a classic for a reason!
Was super influential to the indie rock scene, but consequently sounds like a lot of other indie albums that have come since. The instrumentation was nice but I found myself kind of bored
Some of the best instrumentalists of their time come together to create the most boring album possible

I like other smiths better but I enjoyed this
Fantastic album, great use of noise and lyricism
I enjoy his early work with ATCQ immensely but I found the sound of this album to be overall generic. I didn’t mind it but it did not meet my expectations from a production standpoint
Yawn
Love Isaac Hayes, super fun
Meh
Enjoyed this one
Easy 5
I think I liked the other cure a little better but this was still awesome
Not my favorite Bowie era but still good
awesome stuff
Fine but a little forgettable
Solid performances, especially Beck’s guitar work. Songs were mostly blues standards covered, and green sleeves randomly? It was solid, would give a 3.5
Love
U2 sucks
Love this album, just a tiny bit bloated by the sound is great and most songs are really catchy
Wild album, lots of mommy issue, cool sound though
Fun album with a lot of diverse sounds and influences, probably 3.5
Legendarily good vocals, pretty catchy songs and a few notable standouts (Rehab is incredible obviously). Not the type of music I’d usually come back to as an album though, probably 3.5-4
Fine but I feel like most 2000s indie albums have a similar sound/vibe
hell ya
Good but repetitive
BYEEEE BYE MS AMERICAN PIE DROVE MY CHEVY TO THE LEVEE BUT THE LEVEE WAS DRY
I liked it in theory but something didn’t click for me on an emotional level
This was fine, 2.5 probably
