Reviews (page 5 of 8)
По музыке очень неплохо, но вокально - это трэш-металл, что мне никогда не нравилось.
Tastes change. That’s the most honest thing to say about Rust in Peace — not that it’s poorly made, not that the musicianship isn’t impressive, but that the person who once owned a Megadeth album and was deeply into Metallica in the late 80s and early 90s has moved on to different musical territory. The record hasn’t changed. The listener has. The technical credentials are real and worth acknowledging. Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman operate at a level of precision and speed that commands respect regardless of genre allegiance. The riffs are constructed with genuine intelligence, the arrangements are more complex than thrash metal’s reputation suggests, and the band is clearly playing at the absolute ceiling of their abilities throughout. The problem is that ceiling eventually becomes the point rather than the vehicle. By the back half of the record the technical complexity tips from impressive into self-indulgent — the “because we can” territory that separates musicianship in service of songs from musicianship in service of itself. The relentlessness that powers the best moments eventually becomes its own kind of exhaustion. Paranoid earned a five on this list because Black Sabbath’s riffs were lean, memorable, and completely unselfconscious. Rust in Peace knows exactly how good it is, and it can’t quite resist showing you. A barely-there three — respected, not enjoyed, and a reminder that the music that defined a younger self doesn’t always survive the journey forward.
This type of rock/metalcore music is the type of music that I like, however I can say I’ve never heard of megadeth before this 1001 series. A relatively short and simple album, but most songs are good. I get some Metallica vibes. Would probably not readily listen again soon but purely because of the genre of music. 6/10.
Música poguera, pero no podes cantar tan poco en los temas hermano. 6/10.
Riffs are great. The vocals are not. Awful lyrics
The guitars are so sick. 3.5
Take no prisoners! TAKE A SHIT! It’s a fine album. I love metal but always felt megadeth was a bit over rated. Way too many songs on this album I looked down at the screen and said “huh, this song is still going”.
Metal! Not terrible, they definitely rocked and got into all the tropes. Production sucked though! Very surface no depth to any instrumentation. Guitars were flat and drums barely existed in the mix. Done better I feel like this would sound HUGE.
More melodic than I was expecting, I’m into it. The title track reminded me of Green Jelly, feels like this song was the source material for them.
This was ok
Megadeth aint bad
Hangar 18 3.5 Take No Prisoners 3.5 Five Magics 3.6 Poison Was the Cure 3.4 Lucretia 3.5 Tornado of Souls 3.3 Dawn Patrol 3.1 Rust in Peace… Polaris 3.4 Score: 3.455555556
The opening song of this album hits you like a train - pure distortion, aggressive rhythms and crazy technical musicianship. It's super accomplished and very fun to listen to, despite the fact it feels like a mush of noise towards the end of the record. Maybe metal just isn't quite the genre for me - my engagement with it simply wanted slightly as the songs went on.
3.5
6.5/10
Will my good streak end? Probably, it's fine as thrash metal go. Fast, exciting. but the terrible lyrics and overly long tracks cause me to zone out. 3 Heard before? No Owned: No 57/230 (24%) Will I get: ?
All sounds the same
First band or artist on the list that I've never heard of. Not my cup of tea but I can see the influence this band has had on other bands. I hear Wolfmother through them.
Not as trashy as I might have guessed
This album is quite good. It made me realize that I don't actually have anything against thrash metal; it seems I just didn't care much for the most famous representatives of the genre (Metallica). Still, for me, the album only comes close to greatness because there just aren't any standout hit tracks that I can listen to over and over again, let alone sing along to, even though the overall quality is consistently high. 3.5./5
A bit like Metallica from wish.com, but they’re fine.
First time I've heard of thrash metal and Megadeth! Sounds like metal infused with hardcore punk. Maybe it's just me, but I can hear some of the 80s glam metal treatment (3.5).
80’s metal. Not my thing.
Probably the best Megadeth thrash album but other than the first couple tracks, the rest is not memorable. It’s a very aggressive listen but it all just runs together for me. Later albums had a little more breathing room which is why more mainstream fans globbed onto them. I enjoyed this more when I was a teenager. Now it wears me out to listen to a whole album of this. 3/5
Ok so this is better than I expected. Yeah it’s fast but it’s also melodic. It’s got riffs for days and real flat out drumming insanity. But I don’t like the lead singer’s voice. That doesn’t work for me. Still really solid. Faves are the lead off “holy wars… the punishment due”
This is just pure METAL. Hangar 18 alone makes this album worth listening to. The guitar in every song is absolutely nuts. I don't listen to Metal ever really, but I am well aware of some of these songs and Megadeath. I would say as far as a Metal album goes, this is pretty great. Appropriately face melting.
Don't listen to metal but actually enjoyed that while at work. Felt like Christian bale in the big short
It's silly music, but sometimes exactly what one needs. Rawkkkk
5/10 It's not for me. It's relentless and heavy, although better than most thrash. At times it is so virtuosic that it makes me listen closer, but it don't make me care much
I might like metal now. Reminiscent of guns and roses/metallica
Cool cover, some fun guitars, but nothing cool or fun enough to bring me back.
I kinda hate thrash metal, but for some reason i enjoyed this. Strong 33
Basically, if adrenaline junkie was an album. The opening track "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" will definitely get your blood pumping. The intense, hard-rocking riffs and solos is really what hooked me here. An overall amazing, consistent sound that kept me engaged throughout. I would've given this 4 stars if it wasn't for its standout flaw which makes it a 3 in my opinion: The lyrics. It does get cringey to a point that it interferes with the music itself, sticking out like a sore thumb. However, absolute shredding nonetheless. Good album.
слушать на максимальной громкости, а то без ощущения басов не звучит обложка добавляет пол звезды однообразный вокал и постоянная инструментальная плотность наскучивают, хотя партии разнообразные 3.3
Great example of a band and album I would never listen to if not pushed by this adventure. I really enjoyed it, was breaking ice up and shovelling snow outside my house and it was the perfect audio fuel. I also enjoyed the more political resistance in the lyrics. Much more intense than I woulda thought. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Honestly didn’t know what to expect but pretty awesome. 3
The megadeth formula: -Sickest riff you’ve ever heard -Corniest vocals you’ve ever heard -Guitar solo
Some of the more listenable metal I’ve heard. The guitar riffing is undeniably fun, but even with that, it’s still not really my thing. A fun listen overall, just not something I’m likely to revisit. We'll call it 3.5/5
This was really fun. Probably as much as I’ll enjoy a metal album. Would even consider purchasing if I came across at the record store. High energy and fast tempos! Definitely a place for this in the rotation.
Technically a well produced album, however I was bored by the end of it
Better than I expected.
As one half of heavy metal duo Houmous & Chutney I can really appreciate what megadeth are trying here. 2.8 7/9 Tornados of Soul
A seminal heavy metal album. Even if I'm not especially a fan of Megadeth, I can recognize the appeal.
Круто, 3,5
thought I wouldn't be a fan from the title but it surprised me
Its good. But Mustaine will always just sound like whinier Metallica to me.
I liked this dumb dumb album much more than I thought I would. 3.5
This was fun but it was also like twelve songs that are the same song and the song is all double drum pedal. 2.5
Pretty good noisy album. I liked the percussion. Bit samey though, it’s all one big noise.
Cod zombies ass album cover. I know the reputation this album has so I really came into it trying to enjoy it and knowing that if I didn't like it, its probably more due to my distaste of the genre then any look at how "good" it is. I did kinda like some of the songs, Hangar 18 in particular, but overall this was such a wash for me. It's like handing someone who doesn't like wine a bottle of Krug. It could be incredible but all you're gonna get out of them is "yep, sure tastes like vinegar and grapes". I get the feeling that every heavy metal review is gonna be me finding ways to restate this. I'm giving this a 3 but less in a neutral sense and more in a "N/A" sense.
Not my favourite Megadeth album, but the start of their stronger era. Holy wars is a strong opener and i love the curve ball of slightly spanish guitars that you get to compliment the full on metal guitars . Is Dave Mustaine a great singer, obviously no, but his growl suits these songs and no where is that more apparent than Hanger 18. As with all Megadeth tracks this is built round long guitar breaks and changes in tempo, but this is what happens when necessity forces a guitarist to become a vocalist. You can feel the competitiveness with his former employers, driving this album along. This therefore feels very much a response to And Justice…. In the same way Countdown brought a more commercial sound in response to Metallica’s self titled (black) album. In a generally enjoyable album Dawn patrol is a clear mis step which serves only to annoy and break the intensity of the thrash served up elsewhere.
Album #22: Rust In Peace - Megadeth Genre (W): Thrash metal Singles: Holy Wars… The Punishment Due, Hangar 18 I have not listened to this album before. Thoughts?: The technicality of Megadeth is impressive, definitely what a lot of thrash heads were missing when Metallica went soft. I love how complex the arrangements are. The ending to Hangar 18 is one of the best endings I’ve ever heard in a metal song! Favorite songs: HW… TPD, Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls, Rust In Peace… Polaris
It’s exactly what you picture when you think of 80’s rock bands and nothing all that special. Gotta give them a little credit for the political commentary but I can’t tell if I’m the same team or not.
40 minutes of catchy and accessible thrash metal with interesting themes and lyrics. Not too dense, a good handful of bangers, and doesn't outstay its welcome. Good but not great.
Appreciate the craft of thrashy metal but probably won’t make it to my daily rotation!!
I always kind of enjoy Megadeth for like 1 song. Its like an adrenalin shot of butt metal. Its like Iron Maiden + Metallica with a tad of Hair Metal to keep it classy. Its kind of hard to hate, but then after a few songs, I'm usually over it. The drums were cool on this one.
There's stuff to like in here. I'm definitely tapping away to this, but I'm not massively feeling it. I much prefer more defined riffs than wall of noise shredding. I'm also not a huge fan of the singing. I'm glad I got to give this a chance though.
Technically this album is impressive. It's fast, loud and melodically dense. But they ain't got no rizz.
Unexceptional.
Wikipedia says Megadeth are one of the big four bands of American thrash metal. I guess yeah.
Nothing paints you into a musical corner faster than being deemed a leader of a subgenre. Thrash metal sounds dated and cheesy as fuck in 2025, but there's no doubt Dave Mustaine is good at making it. There's even some goofy stuff about the environment and wizards in there to break up the usual Songs About War. This is good for what it is, even if it's not very culturally relevant now. It's not like the people the Bevises and Buttheads of the world grew into care about cultural relevance.
Alongside Metallica, the better end of this genre. The speed if this really drives it and gives it energy, while the guitar playing is absolutely top level.
I like to pretend this album is a response to Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps, but that may be wishful thinking. Excellent cover art, and while I'm not a thrash guy, I have to admit this is an impressive onslaught. I don't like it as much as I respect it, but should the mood strike, this is one I'll be reaching for.
Although I can see why this particular Megadeth album was included, I will always associate Megadeth with the mind-blowing (to my teenage mind, at least) cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These boots are made for walkin'", and frankly not a lot else. Megadeth always seemed a bit harder and faster than Metallica, and they get a few props for being willing to go with a goofy death mascot (a la Iron Maiden), but it didn't seem like there was all that much to them. "Rust in Peace" slightly redeems the band, at least lyrically, as there's a little more depth to some of the songs than the other gang-of-four members' ilk (Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer); but only *some* depth, and often impossible to discern with their overloaded dual-guitar duels. (Speaking of which, I can see why fans drooled over the guitar solo in "Tornado of souls" and have claimed it's one of the best metal solos ever.) I don't think I'd ever known the backstory to how Dave Mustaine was a short-lived lead guitarist for Metallica in the early 80s, and then got booted for abusing substances (mainly alcohol) even more than the rest of them; curious that by the time of this album he had launched upon a career of speaking out against alcohol and drug abuse. I was also very amused to read the backstory to "Holy wars", of how Dave Mustaine was apparently (and to me incomprehensibly) ignorant of how inflammatory it would be to play the Sex Pistols "Anarchy in the UK" in Northern Ireland, and announce that he was dedicating the song to "the Cause", and then be surprised at the near-riot that broke out between Catholic and Protestant fans, and the band had to get quickly escorted to a bullet-proof bus that the local police knew would be needed. I'm guessing he didn't make that same mistake twice....
Started off strong but then petered into being okay.
too metal for my taste -- give me some doom or sludge anyday, but not this
I don’t like the genre but this is at the top end of it
Good metal album but Metallica did it better
Enjoyed this more than I thought i would.
I mean is there another Megadeth album on this list somewhere? Because if not then they picked the wrong one. This is just ok. But if this is here I really hope Peace Sells is too.
Pretty good, not my usual taste, nothing stood out too much to me either.
Nooh... Ei iskenyt ihan älyttömästi, mutta ei ole paska levy siltikään. 2,75/5.
Not my genre, but listened to it while flossing. Enjoyed the flossing more.
Pretty good metal album. Great riffs, so-so vocals.
The engineering and mixing is razor-sharp. With how heavy this can be it sounds clear and balanced. The moments of vocal layering and musical flourishes were truly cool (“Take No Prisoners”, for example). Otherwise this didn’t do it for me. Not the fault of the album itself really, this just isn’t a genre that stimulates me. Technically proficient but not personally moving.
Yup, that's Megadeth and all right. Exactly as expected. Metal like this is a very particular sound. Either you can enjoy it or you can't. I've got some metalhead in me, so I don't hate it, but it doesn't rise above either.
Blech. Dave Mustaine, the most annoying man in all of thrash metal. He can write some catchy riffs, but I generally dislike his music and this album is no different. But still, it's thrash - my favorite kind of metal - and it merits a 3.45 minimum.
Sweet riffage. I like the soloing a little less, and I’m not a huge fan of Dave’s voice. The subject matter is kind of dumb but charming in a metal way.
Not bad. I gotta dig deeper into their discography
If I could listen to just the instruments, I’d be happier. Great driving guitars, solid rock album. Just not a fan of the vocals.
Decent
I was surprised that a thrash metal album is getting so much love. But it’s not really thrash is it? Yes it has its super-fast bits but on the whole it’s just good heavy metal. The only downside is Dave Mustaine’s voice. For me it doesn’t fit. It’s the voice of a weedy kid not a metal front-man. It may grow on me but fair to say it hasn’t after 3 listens.
Thrash! 3.5/5
This album was kinda meh. Nice and heavy sounding, but oh too cheesy. I like the cover, though!
So funny how Sam and I were just stalking megadeth. Solid, shreds but I see why they never rivaled some others of their era. Sometimes it feels like the song structure just is too long, like intro - verse - chorus - solo - bridge - solo - solo - bridge - solo and it began to drag. Would be more into a more focused record from em.
Although not really my typical genre. Loved the guitar work, but the vocals really aren’t for me.
I know this band not a huge fan. But I know of them. I am always interested to listen to these old school metal bands. Pretty rockin album. NOt sure if I see anything higher than a 3-star.
Dave Mustaine sings like a cartoon character that’s been grabbed by the throat comically hard. This music gives a general vibe of a long haired, yet balding alcoholic with a Gadsden flag tattoo who really fucking hates that the government makes him have seatbelts in his car (ran on homemade leaded gasoline). Holy Wars, Hangar 18, and Tornado of Souls are doing a lot of heavy lifting on this album. The rest of it I think could generously be described as competent filler.
I generally like the Megadeth-sound especially the basslines. And I like the cover artwork. But I prefer their two upfollowing albums big time compared to this. favourite: "Take No Prisoners", "Dawn Patrol"
I fucking HATE Vic Rattlehead. That fucking skull-skeleton asshole fills me with the burning rage of Lucifer. God I want to deck the freaky little fucker with the force of a thousand suns. I hate staring at his smug-ugly fucking toothy grin every time I want to listen to Dave Mustain's fat chugs. Put the 'thrash' in thrash metal. I want to cave in his cranium with a hammer so fucking bad. This fucker has haunted my nightmares my whole life and I am glad he is long dead (I hope it was painful). fav tracks: The Punishment Due, Hangar 18, Dawn Patrol
Sounds like relaxing spa music compared to today’s metal.
definitely wont be revisiting cause its not my genre but its a great album and whoever was playing that guitar KNOWS what they are doing
Really fun. Some good high energy thrash. Would like to spend more time with it. There was a particularly exceptional track one or two before the end
Great solos. Sick vibes
I liked these guys more when they were Metallica. Seriously, this is an enjoyable listen but lacks the punch and hooky riffs of their adjacent peer. This is not their best album. 3/5
Definitely liked this more than the other Megadeth album we had, music was a bit more interesting and varied. Particularly liked that bit in the first song when the tempo kept changing. Lyrically seemed to be about some sort of evil war, a classic topic to cover if you're in a metal band with this sort of schtick. Seemed to rip off Metallica more than once. Not my genre really but enough to maintain interest for a listen or two.
Probably never listened to Megadeth, I do quite like thrash metal though. This is fairly indistinguishable to the more thrash metal Metallica sound, which I like. Probably not as good. Enjoyed it overall, but an hour of thrash metal, might be too much thrash metal. My favorites were hanger 18 and tornado of souls 3.5
3.0
Heavy metal isn’t my thing, but it wasn’t bad
a grinding, relentless listen
Liked this more than I thought I would!
I don’t and never have listened to metal. I only know Megadeath as a pop culture reference. That said I had no negative feelings to this album. I can’t say whether it’s great or not but I found it fine.
This was pretty decent. I still think of them as very similar to Metallica, but fun.
90s heavy metal. Trash metal legend. Fast and hard, as you'd expect. Melodic.
Very standard sounding rock and roll.
TIL it's Megadeth and not Megadeath
Awesome riffs, lyrics, eh not so much.
This album was really good until the singer started singing. He has the whiniest voice. I want to know what the other guys sound like if he was the best choice for singer. Still gets a three because the music rocks. Would be a four with any other singer.
I like my rock/metal up to hard rock, but sometimes I do enjoy it whenever the metal-y music is a bit softer and not as harsh and extreme, so this ended up being a pretty nice listen. Usually when it's busy at work and I am listening to a heavy metal album, it makes things feel a lot more extreme than they are, so I end up stressing about work, but this is actually borderline decent. Overall, not too bad but also enjoyable guitar solos and there's no screaming.
While track 1 was good im liking track 2 a whole lot more. Five Magics is my favorite
Not normally my thing, very pleasantly surprised!
FAVO: Holy wars ... the punishment, Tornado of Souls, Rust in peace ... Polaris
ummmmm actually poison and the cure are clearly different bands :/
Favorite Track: Holy Wars
Oh so clearly of its time, and I'm not one for screechy guitar solos. But it rips, a really tight forty minutes that means no self indulgence. Still want something odder, more angular, more technical in my metal, but that's not to denigrate the classics.
Heavy metal! I’ve gotta be in the right mood for this. This didn’t hit me today, but it did wake me up and make me angry. My music needs something me touch. This lacks touch.
It’s time to once again climb aboard the “metal high horse.” I spent countless hours of my teen years listening to metal. I went so far as to message long married and middle aged former death metal band members for copies of their obscure demos. It almost worked once! It is because of that cringeworthy, and yes, slightly lonely adolescence that o crack my knuckles thusly in preparation for metal albums. Thrash metal icons Megadeth always bored me. I feel like Dave Mustaine and I couldn’t be more opposite and that is reflected in my enjoyment of his art. With that said, this is Megadeth’s most popular release with the critics and metal nerds alike, and I’m happy to give it the ol college try once again. But I’m not holding my breath. Holy Wars…The Punishment Due - Yeah the riffs here? Fuckin’ sick. Throughout. Here’s the issues. The vocals suck. Major issue with this band. These lyrics also start off incredibly good. Dying for religion is the worst way a life can end and it’s happened since the beginning of religion. When the lyrics get into tough guy posturing, and the mind control shit, I can only roll my eyes. This is the trouble with Megadeth. Considering the frontman is responsible for the moronic lyrics and horrible vocals BUT also these riffs? I’m lost. The riffs are too good to deny though. Hangar 18 - Starting off like a Rise Against track. NOT a compliment. This guy just loves wimpy guitar licks. I have always been a rhythm guitar enjoyer. Solos CAN be great, but mostly they’re just melodic and only interesting to people who enjoy the puzzle to solve that is the playing of guitar rather than uhh I don’t know, the SOUND. “Ah man did you hear him jump from that arpeggio to the diminished scale? He’s incredible.” Speak to a woman. Or man. Or non-binary person. Just get out of the house. I plead with you. Anyway, this song is fine. Take No Prisoners - Some prisoners? Now THAT is an interesting riff. Fuck yeah. Thrash metal happening. The gang vocals (permeate them) are a little corny compared to Kruger’s I’ve heard, but we’re finally “in a metal mood” here. Shoutout Pat Boone. Real metal heads know. Five Magics - Inwas told there were just 3 magics. Card, hat-based magic, and the magic of friendship. I am intrigued to learn of the next two. My guess would be it’ll have something to do with those quick change artists. Those fuckers are impressive. Buddy really is naming magic types in the breakdown. He’s so corny. I mean the song has energy. I like it. Always have, but he is such a cornball. Poison Was the Cure - Much more old school feel on this one. This track would fit right in on Kill ‘Em All if you roughed up the production a bit. I say that, but it’s also one of the weakest so far. Lucretia - Say, have you kids heard of Iron Maiden? Yeah this is a sped up Iron Maiden song. I am complaining. Decent underlying riff, but too much wankery. Tornado of Souls - The hit! Well they have that big arena chorus anyway. Riffs are ok, but the focus on this one is the lame driving rhythm, that chorus and of course the trading solos. Dawn Patrol - Songs without singing are good. Even this fake British groaning is an improvement. Rust in Peace… Polaris - Here lies my dead Polaris buggy. Long has it sat unused at my large palatial summer property. The only state a Polaris can be in. Honestly who owns those things? Anyway. This song is decent. Megadeth didn’t change my mind here, with a small caveat. I liked this album far more than I remembered liking it. I honestly expected to be and the whole time. There is a sterility to this album that is a harbinger of what’s to come for thrash metal in the 90s. We’re missing that grime that was part and parcel with Slayer, Dark Angel and even earlier Megadeth. I could go on about the general vibe and the endless solos, but the riffs were enough here to produce an enjoyable record. Some real highlights in amongst the Mustaineisms. I won’t even ™️ that one Dave. You can have it. 3-3.5 HIGHLIGHTS: Holy Wars…The Punishment Due, Take No Prisoners, Five Magics
Starts off with "Holy Wars" which has Iron Maiden meshed with Metallica vibes.
Better than I feared it was going to be
I liked it a lot more than I expected. Almost passed on it, but once you get into that screaming guitar it really golds you
Not my favorite Megadeth album but still a good one. Relentless thrash metal. Your neck will hurt when you’re done listening to it.
# Album Name: Rust in Peace # Artist: Megadeath # Rating: 3/5 # Comments: Not bad. Nothing clicked for me though. I might come back to this for another try. # Top Tunes: Not sure # Would I listen to it again? Maybe
Ça réveille j’ai l’impression que ça parle genre juste de la mort. mais overall j’haïs pas ça c’était quand même drôle écouter ca super fort dans mes écouteurs à 22:30 dans l’autobus en train de faire des sudokus
Album 856 of 1089 Megadeth - Rust In Peace (1990) Rating : 3 / 5 Metal isn't a genre I usually drift toward, but I have to say, the guitar work here is something else. The shredding is relentless—in the best way—and I found myself really appreciating the musicianship, even if the overall style isn’t my usual go-to. A few of the tracks started to blend together for me, with similar pacing and energy throughout, but I still walked away thinking it was a solid listen. It’s easy to see why this album is a big deal in the metal world. Not one I’ll revisit often, but glad I gave it a proper spin.
probably closer to 4 could i write poetry to this? kid jimi almost certainly did
Album correct. Band correct. Chansons correctes. Je ne suis pas un fan de straight-up métal. Mais, mélange moi ça avec autre chose (funk, jazz, klezmer, classique, prog, etc.) et je tripe.
Did not have a big impression on me. I know it's sacrilegious but I do see why people still make art even after the release of this album.
On Rust in Peace, Megadeth delivers a technically blistering set that leans hard into the intensity and precision of '80s thrash, but with a geekier, more self-serious twist that doesn’t always land. Dave Mustaine’s vocals remain an acquired taste—more sneer than snarl—and tracks like “Five Magics” cross the line from menacing into unintentionally comical with its haunted-house theatrics. “Dawn Patrol” grooves on a cool bassline but crashes under a clumsy, faux-British spoken-word bit that’s more Monty Python than metal. “Rust in Peace...Polaris” aims for apocalyptic grandeur but ends up a chaotic misfire. Still, there are moments that remind you why Megadeth earned their spot in the Big Four: “Holy Wars...The Punishment Due” opens the album with a fiery, ambitious bang, “Take No Prisoners” lives up to its title with breakneck riffage, and “Lucretia” offers up a guitar solo straight out of the golden age of metal. When it works, it really works—but too often, Rust in Peace gets lost in its own theatrical excess.
So much shredding. They are very talented but it is a lot to take in. However, the lyrics are quite good!
Fav: Hangar 18 Least Fav: Dawn Patrol
There is a particular genre of heavy metal which seems to have been explicitly created to appeal to adolescent boys - the cutesy misspelled names (‘deth’), the badly drawn covers with EC Comics style horror mascots and let’s not even start with the lyrical obsession with gruesome subject matters. In this case, it’s clear that you shouldn’t judge an album by its cover. It kicks in with a blistering pace, with fast, complex and accurate musicianship that wouldn’t be out of place on a 1970s prog album including surprising digressions where they suddenly throw in a bit of Spanish guitar halfway through a track. The lyrics are also surprisingly on message - ok, so they mainly deal with war and violence but very much from an anti-war stance, talking about the human cost of war (especially religiously inspired conflicts) and there’s a nice dig at ‘military intelligence’ too. Good stuff all round.
Kind of a slog but I respect the musicianship.
Some fun guitar riffs (which then reminded me of Guitar Hero), but ultimately this is not my thing. It wasn't completely bad to have on in the background, though.
Hate government and/or war, ripping guitar solo, repeat, ???, profit.
Gar nicht mal so geil dieses Metal Album :/
This was alright - I liked tornado of souls
Thrash was never really my genre, but I did like this album enough to reccomend it to others maybe. I love the Onion article on the thing and think its just below the line of worthy of being on this list, but I do like it. 5/10
Liked this a lot more than I was expecting to. Probably won’t ever listen to it again though.

Too many riffs, too many solos that sound exactly the same. The progressive structures were cool but I think it would have been less intense to include some more conventionally composed songs to even the album. A lot of the songs felt too long. The guitar tone is like vanilla good, its good but its nothing new. Production is soooo boring like every song is composed in the same kinda vibe so varying up the production could have saved this record, instead the latter half just blurred into one big riff - the songs are linearly composed often so its hard to notice when one ends and the other begins. Despite all the complaining, the songs were well written if a bit samey. The vocal melodies were cool (even tho Dave sucks at singing). So not the worst record ever. I'm not really a metal guy. So it was a bit boring for me. But if you're into thrash this is a solid record.
Strong
If you look for technicality, look to heavy metal. The technical ability is second to none. With that, sometimes you lose the emotion. Not sure if that's the case here.
3.5
I always think, Dave Mustaine’s mustache must stink.
Dave Mustaine’s vocals are sometimes ok, sometimes whinily intolerable. But the strength of “Rust in Peace” comes from the work of new Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.
The guitar work is pretty amazing even if it’s not my kinda jams. 3.5.
A glutinous display of lead guitar skill. Impressive but not necessarily the most interesting sound after a while.
3+
It’s Megadeth, one of two albums that would be their best, but Mustaine’s voice still grates.
It sounds like an album from what a band named Megadeth should sound like. Great sound, just needed a few more standout tracks. Favorite Track: "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due".
Something about Megadeth just doesn't do it for me. I think it's primarily a couple factors: Dave's voice doesn't resonate with me and the songwriting it not at the same level as Metallica. There's a certain sameness to most of their catalog that just blends together for me. It's solid, but rarely do my ears perk up and make me wonder, "What's the name of THIS song?"
Musically, this is pretty great. Really solid riffs, but nothing particularly memorable. Dave Mustaine's vocals and lyrics are absolutely cringe though.
Favorite Track: Holy Wars…The Punishment Due
• 3/5 • Model of thrash metal genre. Technical virtuosity, particularly lead guitar and drumming. • Vocally and lyrically weak relative to the instrumentality and production. A half-step (maybe a whole step) inferior to Metallica.
Did not finish - it was okay, I wouldn't switch away from a song or two, but it all sounds much the same to me and the frantic energy isn't my mood today.
A strong album but meaningful only for those diving deeper into the metal genre.
Possibly 3.5
With albums like these, I can't help but wonder if people like Dave Mustaine realise just how silly their music really is. Songs about pulpy fantasy novels, affected screechy vocals and blindingly flashy guitar solos; it's all fun, impressive even, but also very much a silly affair. Now don't get me wrong, I can most definitely get into some nerdy shenanigans - hell, I listen to Rush, the nerd band to end all nerd bands. But here, you can't shake this feeling that Dave and the crew felt there was some sort of Truth to their rather juvenile takes on warfare, geopolitics and extraterrestrial life. But then again, when the boys are riffing and shredding like that, should one really care?
The guitar and drums are dope and consistent throughout this, but the vocals are so hit-or-miss.
Cool but kind of repetitive.
Pretty good actually, I enjoyed it but not exactly my genre
Solid, but I have the same complaint as my last Megadeth record. It just doesn't hit for me like other thrash bands. Favorite songs: Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls, Holy Wars...The Punishment Due, Lucretia, Take No Prisoners Least favorite songs: Dawn Patrol 3/5
Den er sgu fed nok
Ærlig talt lidt lamt at skulle høre 1001 albums før man dør når man bare kan høre Rust in Peace 1001 gange
I feel like this entire album was just to support Hangar 18, which I could obviously play on Expert in Guitar Hero 15 years ago....
Better if there was no singing.
Although thrash metal is not my first choice of music genre, it has its place. I can appreciate it if I am in the right mood. MD would be entertaining if they had a decent vocalist. As this is not the case, they should stick to instrumentals. There they do a pretty good job, although many other bands sound just like them.
This felt like a Tornado of Souls, swirling about.
Итс окэй. Или даже ОКЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЭЙ #diesofcringe #embracethecringe #cringetiltheend Лучшая песня - Tornado of Souls.
Take No Prisoners? I felt like one listening to this album! (That was my favorite song on the album tho) LOL
Not my kind of metal
Far, far, far better than I thought and feared. At times, it bordered on being good. They should have a less silly name really, and then people who like music, as opposed to endless screaming and guitar solos, might not be instantly put off.
Some of my favorite metal, but I’m not enough of a fan to enjoy a whole album.
Well that's a mega air guitar album.
Soundtrack to 1,001 gnarly skateboarding vids. Precision-tooled metal that fairly rips along. Not really my usual fare but I enjoyed it a lot today, blasting homeward on my bike in the sunshine 🤘
Not for me entirely but objectively good I think!
More technical than Metallica but also more soulless. Pretty boiler plate thrash.
Pretty much review 100% with Kyle. It’s not bad, but there are other bands doing the same thing better
de muziek is goed, zeer goed zelfs... maar zanger moet leren zijn mond houden... haalt alles naar niveau van eerste de beste hairmetal groep
Sieluun sattuu kuunnella, kuinka ihminen raiskaa äänihuuliaan.
It's a decent album, 3/5. I'm not a huge fan of Metal, especially this older metal, but it's not too bad. Love the album art.
Oh here we go... death metal at its finest, if you can call it fine? I mean, its fine.
Maybe I just need to listen to more metal. This had some surprisingly good songs. The bass line on Dawn Patrol is hypnotic. I also fucked with Take no Prisoners and Lucretia. Overall it was pretty solid. I could see it growing on me more and opening me up to other, unnamed and perhaps harshly rated, metal bands.
shout out to Hanger 18 for being in Guitar Hero 2. not being huge into thrash metal, but I see what this album is all about. some thoughtful lyrics with some killer shredding. this album strikes me as I would have to be in a certain mood, or like working out, to want and throw this on. wasn't bad, wasn't amazing for me. solid 3. overall, glad this came up and I was able to listen to it.
im the alien
It was fine, mainly had it in the background so didn't listen too closely.
3.11
This was fine. I don’t get the hype though; it did nothing for me one way or the other
This is definitely one to beat for thrash metal. The vocals are still pretty annoying, but the riffs are cool and the bass player is absolutely kicking ass. I definitely didn't hate it, might listen again if the mood strikes. Feels like a very solid 3.5.
There were some nice solos there. Good for you mate!
I have a weird relationship with Metal... I first pretended I loved it, then hated it. Now we respect each other
3.5/5
This is going to be exactly what you expect: high-speed riffs and screaming guitar wails. Great for what it's doing, but limited, of course.
To Megadeth's poor luck, I listened to Metallica, another thrash metal band, immediately preceding this album. Musically Megadeth is solid, but gosh they lack the range that Metallica has. The guitar wails, it's that good, but it's far too prominent to the detriment of the rest of their instruments. This just leaves me feeling wanting. I like a well-rounded band. For what it's worth, I love a consistent vibe. Megadeth hit the nail on the head with their song titles. Sure, maybe it's over the top, but I wasn't bad about it.
Great thrash metal inclusion from Megadeth! This is the first album of theirs that I've come across on this project, but they're no doubt one of the best to do this genre and definitely a worthy inclusion. I wouldn't say I absolutely loved every song, but what I will say is that every song goes super hard. It's concise, there's no filler, and the album as a whole really just slays from start to finish. It's a great whole-album experience.
Rolling guitars, evil sounding vocals, good guitar solos. This is 80’s metal. I don’t personally believe that this is their best album. It lacks a blow away track. Maybe I’m getting my bands mixed up but nothing on here compares to Hallowed Be Thy Name or Peace Sells. That’s what I’m searching for. I’m not totally lost on this album. It had me bouncing back and forth between giving up and soldiering on. I soldiered on. Choice cut: Tornado of Souls
So its metal...honestly it all ends up sounding the same in the end. I give it a 3 only because in terms of metal this is palatable. I don't immediately want to turn it off, the singer isn't constantly hoarsly screaming, the guitar riffs are musically impressive, and the drums add to the music (not just volume). Some songs were almost okay (Poison was the Cure and Lucretia). But it is a metal 3, not a regular 3
80's / 90's Thrash Metal isn't so much my thing but I can appreciate the guitar and drum work of this genre. This album is probably some of the best/most interesting thrash metal I've heard with regard to music (riffs, changes, beats). But I'm just not that into it. It's always the same with this genre for me. I'm totally into the song the first minute or two and then the vocals start and I just go "meh". If I could find a thrash metal band with a vocalist that I could believe in, then I think I could actually be into it. Or maybe if I was a 14 year old boy again I would be more into it.
на любителя...
A solid 3! I tend to think very lowly of bands with names and album covers like this. It will still never be my thing but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised
Fun screaming time
Propper Heavy Metal
I do rather like Megadeath's fairly unique sound
Not a big thrash metal guy, but I do know that I like other thrash better. This is very, very solid Best Song: Take No Prisoners Rating: 7.0/10 3 Stars
A nice change of pace and I think my plants enjoyed it. It connected me to the underlying feeling I’ve had the past week. It’s not my favorite metal band…I like a little more variety in tempo, but it did the trick today.
This album sounds as good as any metal album of its day - some questionable lyrics not withstanding. But sonically - it sounds great. A lot of notes but that seem to have intention as opposed to just displays of speed. And bass playing that actually does something (with a tone as good as any metal album of the era). As a representation of the thrash/prog metal genre this ranks high. I like a little more grit and Dave's voice is toughvforban entire album. But is certainly has moments. As does this album. I would go so far to say every song has great moments. They are on to the next idea as songs never settle into a groove for too long before venturing off - but there are grooves. Of the era - i prefer the sheer bludgeoning of Slayer or the dystopian present of Voivod - or Megadeth's own incendiary Peace Sells - but is a damn good record and as good a thrash entry for this list. I give it exactly one star higher than Pretzel Logic.
I like it, but Countdown to Extinction is still my fave
How could I sleep on Megadeth if I like Iron Maiden? I didn't like all of the songs but it definitely send me down a rabbit hole!
Good album. Whether or not you enjoy speed/thrash metal you should be able to appreciate the musicianship because here because Mustaine's rhythm guitar work is impeccable. I thought the vocals occasionally sounded like Metallica which makes sense I guess given the history between the two bands. Cool cover too if somewhat macabre.
I found this more appealing than most metal. The lack of a death metal scream helped. Guitar is fast, crisp and has energy. I'm still not likely to seek this band out. But I'm happy I did not need to skip any songs.
Crazy guitar
In general, I can take or leave the heavier end of rock - there are bits I like, but I find much frenetic or unmemorable. Having said that, this never felt difficult to listen to, and I enjoyed the time I spent with it.
Loud but ok!!
I enjoyed the math Rocky moments.
Megadeth makes music for suburban white boys with a masturbation addiction.
Decent metal album, I'm not the biggest metal fan but this was not as horrible as metal can be. 3/5
Expected to hate this but I was wrong - really a lot to like about this. Not going to play it when Mum comes over for a cup of tea, unless I didn't want her to hang around. Some fine musicianship on show, crunchy bass and lots of guitar that didn't quite turn into classic lead wankery.
my face is still melting
6.5/10
Not bad, but I’m just not a big fan of heavy metal.
Fun
This was a pretty straightforward thrash metal album-about what I was expecting. I prefer this over the Metallica I am familiar with. Like many metal bands, I wish the singer was different-not quite sure how, but I always feel like (most) metal singers really don’t do it for me. I didn’t finish listening to it, but it wasn’t because I couldn’t (like that Todd Rundgren album or the Sabre Projectors). I have sense of where it’s going and can’t imagine any song really changing my opinion of it. A pretty decent album overall; I’ll probably revisit it but doubt it’ll be a favorite. (2.5 stars)
Very creative! 3.3 rounded down.
I wish that they sounded like their cover artwork implies they sound. A lot of metal bands have killer artwork, but the music just doesn't stack up. Talking to you Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
I can see why people would like this more than I can with Slayer, so for that comparison I’ll give this the lightest of 3s.
Well I liked this more than Slayer. Ready for something else though.
It was good. But it was not something me to listen to relax. But it was good music
Really not bad at all
It's classic metal, if that's your thing.
I'm so torn between a 3 and a 4. The term "shreds" exists for albums like this. Each player is absolutely a master of their instrument. And I can't understand any of the lyrics. It's not just noise, but it also didn't make me stop and say, wait, now THIS song is really something. Is that because they're all fantastic, or because they lack distinction? For my limited experience, it's definitely better than others in this genre. 3.5
Pretty similar to the other Megadeth album on this list, and that's not a bad thing nor a good thing. Some good songs, and several forgettable ones. Key tracks: Hangar 18 Poison Was the Cure
Not as bad as it sounds
Pretty good 3.5
Megadeth is super ridiculous. Pretty fun for sure, but man it's so ridiculous.
Heavy, man!!
I like Dave Mustaine the guitarist, I dont like Dave Mustaine the vocalist.
Death metal outside of a concert just isn't for me
It’s ok
Good sound, but no real bops. Was hoping for something that caught my ear.
It has some good beats, and some great guitar solos, but that was it for me. Just middle of the road otherwise.
Pues mejor de lo que esperaba, yo que desprecié el Heavy de los 80 y 90. Me ha gustado Hangar 18, Five magics y Rust in peace.
I bought this album recently. I listened to a variety of heavy metal when I was younger but never got into Megadeath. I got it to listen to the basslines of a couple specific songs. I enjoyed listening to it but didn't connect to it. I probably would have liked it better when I was younger, but my friends listened to Ozzy and Iron Maiden so that's where I spent my time. This is your average HM record.
Not as engaging as some of the other classic metal albums I’ve gotten but still cool. Choppy guitars and drums.
Quite possibly the pinnacle of 80s heavy metal - or at least, one of the last great 80s heavy metal albums (the other being Metallica’s Black Album). It is the best speed metal album, bar none, and makes for the most satisfying Rock Band experience. I can get down with it.
I always like a bit of mindless screaming and thrashing, but some of those guitar riffs go on too long.
One of the more tolerable metal albums
Pretty good metal. Some standouts but a bit all of thr same
Meh... never been too into this type, but it was fun.
It can be fun
It's not terrible, it's just not for me.
Thoughts before listening: Megadeth is one of those bands that I probably should love, but just never really got into. There are some songs that I like for sure, but as a whole, Dave Mustaine's voice grates on me. Metal as a whole has historically been hit or miss for me....I love Metallica, but the rest of the genre is often a bit too much for me to take. I always preferred the melodicism of punk rock and was never overly persuaded by the guitar heroics that are such a big part of metal. I am not sure if I have heard this Megadeth album all the way through before, so maybe this will be the listen that changes my opinion. Review: Well, I am enjoying this more than I thought I would. Dave Mustaine's voice is still not really my thing, but there are some pretty cool songs on here. This is much less one note than I was expecting. I did recognize a handful of these songs, more by name than sound, having seen them mentioned in guitar magazines or best metal song lists over the past 25 years. Overall in glad I listened to this...3-stars
Rust in Peace is the fourth studio album by Megadeth, originally released in 1990. Megadeath was huge in the 80s so I was interested in listening to some of their 90s output. The album is marked by its aggressive sound and intricate compositions, which reflect the influence of Metallica while also carving out a distinct space for Megadeth. Tracks like "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" and "Hangar 18" demonstrate the band's skill in balancing speed and complexity, which highlights their strengths throughout the 80s. However, while the musicianship on Rust in Peace is undeniably impressive, some aspects of the album feel outdated. The lyrics, at times, veer into corny territory, which can be jarring as metal was shifting towards deeper and more realistic themes during this period. With bands exploring more personal, introspective, and darker subject matter, Megadeth's approach here can come across as lacking the emotional depth that was beginning to define the genre. Additionally, by 1990, the thrash metal theme was starting to feel overplayed, and the album's reliance on intricate guitar tapping solos feels like a nod to a style that was losing its appeal. With grunge on the horizon, the musical landscape was shifting towards rawer, more stripped-down expressions of angst and rebellion. While Rust in Peace is a solid album, it feels like it’s clinging to an era that was about to be eclipsed.
Didn’t listen to the whole album but I didn’t mind what I heard so 3*
decent metal, nothing truly outstanding
Technically sounds great. But I was very bored. Its just so lacking in charisma charm, guile.
Nice, I always welcome a good metal album to expand my taste. I recognize that this is a classic (mainly because I recognize it at all). For my money, I can't readily distinguish it from some other metal acts like Iron Maiden (I'm getting the sense that these guys were basically just American Iron Maiden), but it's pretty good. I'm saving three tracks, which is good considering there aren't very many on here. Nothing super special or groundbreaking for me, but it's a good album. Favorite tracks: Holy Wars, Five Magics, Tornado of Souls. Album art: Absolutely love this one, 100% a classic. Very much feels in the spirit of all those Iron Maiden covers too. Iron Maidon had Eddie as their mascot, and apparently this is Megadeth's mascot, named Vic Rattlehead. This seems like a sketch comedy bit when I read it out loud. Anyway, love this cover: love the alien in the tube, the antsy businessmen watching as our boy Vic lifts a glowing green gem over the tube (hilarious that Vic is in a suit too). Font is perfect. 3.5/5
This will be my second and final Megadeth album to review. I enjoyed Peace Sells, but based on what my metal-head friends say about Megadeth's music, I expect to enjoy this one more. Regardless, I could use a dose of thrash metal today, so I'm looking forward to firing up this one today. As much as I wanted to enjoy this album, I thought it was fine. The guitar playing was incredible, but I really didn't care for Dave Mustaine's vocals at all. Lyrically, the album worked best when the songs kept with the overall theme of the album, which wound up being less than half the songs. "Hangar 18" is an absolute gem, and stood head and shoulders above the rest of the album. If you're looking for some of the best thrash metal guitar playing ever, you've definitely come to the right place, but if you're looking for something with a little more depth, I think there's better stuff out there.
Does what you expect, and it’s generally good overall, I just prefer ‘Peace Sells…’ over this.
The runtime and pace of this album are great, it burst out the gates strong. The first track just walked up and punched you in the ears, the guitar solo in the last minute is impressive and very technical. They manage to ramp it up even further on "Hangar 18" and pretty much uphold this energy for the entire album. "Tornado of Souls" is relentless but I don't love the evil-theater voice at the end of "Dawn Patrol" or the pirate in the title track. I think they do thrash metal well, in a way that makes it more accessible than most but it's a little too thick on the dark arts for me (cobwebs, bowels, rotten egg air of death, etc.). You gotta give it to them with this ridiculous cover art though.
Some good guitar/drum work on this album but it's too over the top with the dark/death theatrics. Some songs sounded like 2 separate songs put together when they would switch tempo halfway through. I prefer Metallica which has a similar sound...2.5.
I've never given Megadeth a chance. Glad I finally sat and listened to an album in unison. There's some decent songs and some definite skill demonstrated. Overall it's a decent metal album but not really in my wheelhouse. Nothin something I would listen to on a normal day but also not something I'm going to turn off. 2.76 stars
For when it's dude's oclock and the fellas want to drink beers, try this album! This sounds like a disciple of the iron maiden format, and it mostly works.
Basically Metallica-lite
So I kinda figured I would know what this would sound like and I was kinda right but holy shit they can JAM oh my god there where several times where I was just casually listening and then all the sudden I was CAPTIVATED by the guitarist just going NUTSO like oh my god. Incredibly talented musicians. Not my music of choice but I can respect the skill, jfc
Guitar
Muy bueno
Very enjoyable, and I can see why the Onion article has resonated with so many. However it’s just not the genre for me, and I found it a bit repetitive.
Kinda what you expect from this band, this album title, this cover art. Moments of fun and quite a lot of very silly noises.
nice listen, not anything too overwhelming
Ah, the best guitarist from Metallica... This one is an assault throughout. I don't like his voice, but he is a talented shredder. Holy Wars is great, as is the title track. I always liked the Megadeath song on the Last Action Hero soundtrack. Back when soundtracks were killer. 3.5 on this one.
I think it's impossible to listen to Megadeath and not compare them to Metallica. Middle school me and my sister's high school boyfriend took to each other as we were both drummers and found each other impressive at our respective ages; he introduced my ears and eyes to Rush and Metallica. At the time, Metallica (. . . And Justice For All) was the fastest and heaviest thing I ever heard, and it took some time getting used to, but the fact that each play annoyed my brother (who was more interested in Olivia Newton-John and Kenny Rogers), I found great little-brother pleasure in playing it routinely when he was around until it sunk in. I never picked up any Megadeath, so this is a first listen. Having grown accustomed to heavier music I'm surprised how clean and light this sounds now. It's fast, but I guess I'm accustomed to fast now; it doesn't feel like speed metal. It's just . . . metal. Metallica's replacement of Dave Mustaine with Kirk Hammett was a wise choice. Dave's got the chops, there's no doubt, but I don't find his playing to be as melodic as Kirk's. I like the soloing in "Lucretia", but for the most part I feel like the solos are just scales and drills played over chugging guitars that are no heavier than Heart's "Barracuda." The drumming is phenomenally tight and deep and is the real star on these tracks. Maybe Rust In Peace is Megadeath's "black album," where Metallica joined with Motley Crue producer Bob Rock and watered down their 7-riffs-in-11-minute metal symphonies to 1 riff in a bite-sized 2 1/2 minute radio song. Maybe this album is Megadeath lightening up, or maybe they were so influential that metal went even harder and further, making this sound a bit cliche in comparison; it's almost a parody of metal. Skilled musicianship, but the singing and songwriting are lacking. If this is what you're looking for, there are better attempts at it.
\m/
It was pretty good. Nothing special but I enjoyed the guitar. 6.5/10
The riffs on this one are legendary... and that's about it ://
Bueno, por el guitarreo ... como se acompañan y tal... Pero me ha gustado más la siguiente canción que me ha puesto Deezer después de terminar el disco (Voice of the Soul · Death)
Not as terrible as I feared which has been a theme with (some) metal albums. I wouldn't willingly put this on but it rocked adequately
Better than excepted
Did not expect to like this, but maybe I should be less prejudice against metal - it was actually alright.
Not my jam, not as hard as O thought it would be. Liked some of the guitar riffs and meters!
Feeling very meh about this. Not my thing, but I can appreciate it for what it is. 3/5
Megadeath ain't music for the thinking man but it leans it's what it's trying to do. Not a masterpiece, but Tornado of Souls has some good instrumentals. Fun band live.
Face-melting guitar solos, high-intensity drum rolls, what else could you want in a metal album to work out to? I'll have this one bookmarked for future bike trainer routines, as the tracks felt all cut from the same fabric.
Dread and the fugitive minds.. best song.. JAHAS.. albumiradion ensimmäinen..
Opzich wel nice, niet fantastisch
Hell yeah thrash metal
Like most metal I’ve listened to I though the guitar was sick but the vocals are a bit grating
Great album
3.5
Passabler Trash Metal.
I was pleasantly surprised. If "pleasantly " can be used to describe this style of music
His voice mostly didn't get in the way!
3-4
Kinda meh.
3 - I was hoping that I would end up liking this one a lot, but the deep cuts weren't anything special. I really, really like Holy Wars and Hangar 18, and Tornado of Souls is cool, but I already don't remember the rest of the album. Oh well.
Probably great Heavy metal but I am not a fan.
