Reviews (page 7 of 8)

Completely in one ear and out the other, fade into the background music. While not unenjoyable, definitely don't see why it was included in this list above another of the same genre

40 minutes of sounds. I'm not sure if this was innovative for the time and that's why it's included here but there wasn't really anything that stood out about this album. It wasn't bad but wasn't good.

Someone found the "house" section on an old electronic keyboard and went to town.

not my fave. i’m not too into the sort of electronic song and i’m more of a lyrical kinda goblin myself

Maybe if I was into this techno-ish genre I would appreciate it more

pleasant enough noodling, and okay if you like dancing to this sort of thing. Not really for me

I'm so lost

I love 808s and dance music but idk about this one. I usually like House-style music but something about the songs here were a little harsh for my taste. Not bad music by any means just not for me.

90 is the second album by British EDM group 808 State. The music can be classified as something in between acid house and techno. This album showcases an early form of EDM - a genre that would explode in popularity throughout the upcoming 90's and after the turn of the century. I liked the nostalgia given off by this older style of EDM, but I love the newer, more popular genres of EDM of today.

Ok electronica

De esa electrónica que se ve que tuvo mucha influencia y la samplean en todos lados, pero que la verdad a mí me transmite poco. No le alcanza para la tercera porque ya hice un redondeo hoy.

Not really my thing so hard to judge tbh. But 2 stars for being forgettable

Wild early electronic styles. Not my thing, but it is intriguing to hear it.

This felt little a demo reel (no surprise given the name) and made 40min seem like 2 hours. Fuck off. 2/5.

Meh, couldn’t get into it

I honestly can't find it in myself to care about this album at all.

Si me muero mañana no pasaría nada si no lo hubiera escuchado

I think I need more vocals on my electronica.

Yeah this album wasn’t for me, a bit dated now and maybe not helped I’m listening to this at 8am.

This album has all of the 80s sounds, essentially no lyrics, techno. I suppose it could be considered a precursor to EDM. I did not dance. Nothing is really memorable about the album. I have no need to listen to it again.

Not a big electro guy. I need a melody, something to listen for.

Good for what it is: ambient/background dance music. I definitely wouldn't mind having it on while I studied or worked or something. Relative to the albums on this list it's a 2/5. It reminds me of the music that played when I worked a laser tag arena at a in 2018 I've learned to appreciate that the 1001 list isn't necessarily the same as the 1001 best albums of all time. (Most "best albums of all time" lists are lousy anyway). This 1001 list is meant to be a survey of important/influential music, as well as include some greatest albums of all time. That's why I like it. I can appreciate that this is probably an album that inspired a lot of modern electronica music.

2.5/ 5 at best. It's definitely nothing special. I think a couple of the songs are better than the rest, but overall, it isn't for me. I'm glad there are folks that enjoy it.

late 80s techno

80s, early 90s house techno. More British stuff pushed. It was fine, that's all.

The team behind the decision of choosing 1001 Records should have the bar set higher, imho

Mijn oog begon te trillen en ik kreeg de neiging een fidget spinner te bestellen op amazon.

Wel aan te horen maar ik vond er niet veel aan.

Samey all the way through, Pacific 202 is probably the best song, but all the rest are nearly as "good", or "half decent" to be more accurate

More like a drum machine demo reel than a coherent album. Background music for video games.

By the numbers, somewhat appropriately.

Oh Dear, another Dance Album! I missed the whole Ibizian experience as we were heavily parenting at the time. I am sorry but I suppose "you had to be there" to experience the real feeling of this music. Acid House obviously has it's merits and Musically this album is at the top end for me but..... just don't "get" the love of the repetitive beats etc. But I suppose you had to be there and popping some "e's" "Pacific 202" The stand out track but not a record in my collection I'm afraid.

Def not a must listen for me...

Goofy, really didn't see the point to this. So many cheesy riffs and weird vocal choices.

Been looking for my pacifier and glow necklaces all day and now that this is on, I need them IMMEDIATELY!

Since listening, I've discovered that there are two versions of this album, with different track orders and even some added songs. That's annoying. Did they at least wait a while? Kanye West released "Donda" earlier this fall, clocking in at almost 2 hours long, then released a "deluxe" edition with five additional songs and topping the 2 hour mark. Calm down, Kanye, you've gotta space this out and spend years milking this with special and deluxe and international and live and remastered and anniversary and whatever else editions. Oh, and the "Kanye's Version" re-recording. Anyway, I only listened to one version of "90." Maybe the worse one? Definitely some decent songs, but also some that made me glad the genre developed past these guys."

I don’t know a ton about electronic music but this was somehow both strange AND boring.

The album has a neat tensity running throughout, but doesn’t do much for me. Time & place

Not bad. First listen. Not really my choice of music, but it is enjoyable. 2/5

A bit like standing and playing pinball games.

Get me some party powder immediately. 🍭🤪🙆‍♂️

1989: Pacific 202

The gimmick of this album is kind of lost on me as we live in a time that the 808 is seen all the time in popular music. While I understand that this is a very influential-type album for the 808, this is kind of boring contextually.

While it's not necessarily a genre I explore often, I've heard plenty of electronic music in the past that I've enjoyed - everything from techno, house, and dubstep to more obscure genres like drill n' bass. With all that said, I can't stand this album. I'm not sure what warranted its inclusion on this list - perhaps it was more of a trailblazer upon its release - but these songs range from boring at best to grating at worst.

Overall I find this genre of music too chaotic to latch onto anything in particular. However, the opening track is a sceeching fill in the first few seconds that grabbed me. Overall, the sounds are just a little harsh (in terms of timbre) and pointed in terms of pitch and melody for my ears.

Kinda kitch, but this was revolutionnary at the time. My ears man.

No genre of music has improved more than this edm garbo, thing has 808 in the title wtf (still innovative i guess)

Techno is not my thing but I can appreciate the creativity that went into making this.

Really wanted to like this, but it sounded all the same. Tried too hard with th sythn, a little more guitar would have been better. 2 stars

Interesting stuff

An ok album. Was somehow expecting more energy and vibrancy. Pacific 202 stood out. I’m sure the tracks have more impact played loud in a club and lose their potency being heard via earpiece headphones but left feeling uninspired in any case.

Found myself wishing it was done waaay before it was. 202 Pacific was okay

A couple of bangers but pretty dated

I'm lacking the enviroment to enjoy this. Did not age well

I like the font? “Donkey Doctor” is a funny image? I don’t know, that’s all I got.

Not a fan of late 80s and early 90s electronica.

Greet at the time I'm sure! Not aged very well thoigh

2.5. Very 90s electronica that reminds you of that sound of the 90s. Computerized beats, synthesizers, and airy vocals

Varmaankin aikoinaan ollut ihan edelläkävijä soundeissaan, mutta 2021 ei koveta.

I just don’t get this type of music.

I get it, but I did not enjoy it

Out of the entire album, I only kinda enjoyed Pacific 202. It's very much my kind of music, but this particular album, with the majority of its tracks, feels too chaotic for me.

The start was intriguing, the middle was overstimulation station to the extreme, Sunrise felt like a bit of an apology and then it went out with confusion.

Thank god this is only 40 minutes long. Electronic music must be far more popular than I realized because there are a lot of electronic albums on this list. Pacific 202 is the biggest song on the album, I guess people love saxophone music over electronic beats, it's like someone took the seduction scene in Bull Durham and put techno behind it. 808080808 is the soundtrack to a movie from the early 90s about computer crime from a time when dial up was still how people accessed the internet and cyber crime was still like a science fiction premise. For what it's worst (not much) Sunrise is the best song on the album.

Give me better albums plz

The first track sounds like someone tried to flesh out an iPhone alarm tone into a full song, and it doesn’t get much better from there.

This experimental electronic album sounds too outdated and raw, even considering its release date. Its music sounds more dated even than some chiptune works. Oddly, it never even develops an electronic melody texture even though it does show signs of capability to do so, "Pacific 202" being the only decent track on the album that at least comes close to it. All in all, this release it challenging to listen as its monotonous, very often noisy tunes just don't work and cannot be seen as relevant today. In theory, such albums might have influenced intrumental hip hop artists and others later on, but then I would prefer just listening to the latter. That is a poor quality album, and I hope the only one electronic piece that I rate this low.

näää...

Space invader background music.

Well that's 39 minutes of my life I'll never get back

Repetitive, corny and annoying.

Ugh, I like electronic and minimal but that's just garbage in a can

donkey doctor ok? eigentlich nicht. lame early electronics. c

Maybe it's totally unfair but while I was trying to give this my attention, the 23yo was playing beautiful Mexican pop in the other room, and that was so much better that I could barely stand it.

Horrible

Trance, acid and anything to do with the Madchester scene in general (possibly also Manchester - yet to find an exception) are the exact opposite of my thing. This was awful

Hypnotic & monotonous. Best experienced in a mass of people on speed & moving in a barely conscious collective trance (rather than on my laptop with a coffee).

Skipped it after 3 songs. Did not enjoy it.

Well, no. Mostly waiting for something to happen - it rarely did. Favourite: None

1990 loading. This felt like soundtrack to my prom except those Rob Base, C&C Music, Paula Abdul songs were catchy. Track 1 irritatingly repetitive. Track 2 direct rip off Herbie Hancock Rock-It. By Track 3 questioning if I have stomach to continue. By track 5 actively skipping. On to tomorrow. 1/5

This felt like 34 minutes of video game music

I don't like electronic music, except when I do (Elastica, Soup Dragons...). This is not in that exception category. This was irritating. I'm not sure if this is Electronica, or house, or techno, but it is a no-no.

Surprise, another 90s techno album! I read some of the listeners notes to understand why anyone would consider this a great album. It’s mostly because they heard it when they were young and it now has some sort of nostalgic feeling for them. I suspect the author was a teenager in the 90s.

Why would anyone want to listen to this.

Bad electronic

Milquetoast. 3/10

This is the kind of electronic music that gives electronic music a bad rap. Too techno for my jam and the garbage backing track through every song makes my head hurt.

This was a cross between dance party music and atmospheric sound effects, and sometimes waiting music. I guess that's how I would describe techno. The songs were all pretty similar, not much variety. I didn't care for it.

This shit is awful. It's like disco and techno had a child and no one had the good sense to drown it immediately. Cage match with Slayer!!!

Pretty much hated this. Why is there so much ofcthis awful 90s British electronica?

Hard no

# Album Name: 90 # Artist: 808 State # Rating: 1/5 # Comments: Terrible # Top Tunes: # Would I listen to it again? No

More like 101 10.

This was awful but it is still better than Mariah Carey’s bullshit.

A few tracks had some staying power - Cobra Bora was cool This doesnt work like Gary Numans album and I dont know why. Maybe it tries too hard to be dance music instead of just music?

I’m sorry I genuinely hated this so much. Fav song is ‘808080808’.

I don't even like good electronic music, and this is not that. 1 star or F.

Pointless electronic nonsense.

This was probably hot shit at the time, but now just sounds like ringtones

5am nightclub music. Shite.

No idea but pleased to know what an 808 is (vaguely) Oh released a few months after I was born! Wild that there was a world within the last decade that I claimed to categorically dislike electronic music? That said… this isn’t my vibe. I did quite like the first song and are those birds on pacific 202? Jury’s out re “acid house” and I imagine I’d feel differently if I listened in a trancey dancey vibe rather than driving home from the beach I’m reading this was wildly ahead of its time and that’s always impressive

Okay... I'm not exactly sure what genre this is, but I'm listening to this following listening to an Aphex Twin album and it low key sounds the exact same. If you gave me an Aphex Twin song from select recordings, and gave me a song off this album, I would not be able to tell you which came from which. Not my genre, great for if you're playing laser tag tho. Favorite track was 8080808

No es para mí negro qué querés que te diga.

Not enough ecstasy in my coffee this morning. Do I need to break dance? Or play mortal kombat?

Slowly, but surely, I am getting thru this list. Album after album I am regretting it. This was bad....real bad. Why did I need to listen to this?

This would be okay for background music in a club scene for a TV show or play, but that's about the only occasion I'd choose to have it on.

maybe i am just in a bad mood today, but this shit just sucked

I hate it (8 songs, 38 mins)

80808080....more like 80085. This album gave me an irregular heartbeat.

Pointless

I did not like this album. This genre just isn’t for me

Obnoxious.

More dreamscape video game electronica crap. There is certainly talent here, just feels robotic and bland.

The perfect example of why I hate most electronic music. What separates this from the worst electronic album? I played 30 seconds before my wife, who can listen to anything, said, Wow, that’s annoying. Yep, well said.

Holy fuck. More British bull shit! I swear this list has to be a psy-op by the MI6 to see how much terrible music people can tolerate before they quit.

808 State – 90 (1989) On Day 72, I hit a wall with 90. Halfway through, I realized that while the production is technically significant for its time, it honestly sounds like a video game soundtrack but somehow worse. There were moments where I found myself bopping my head a little, but overall, it’s not a good time. This is one of those albums that sours the mouth, but I’m looking at it as a necessary step in the journey. It’s part of the evolution of music, showing how this genre started as ass before evolving into the masterpieces I'll encounter later. It earns a 1/5 for the listening experience, though I acknowledge its place in the history books.

Really? Some kind of soulless techno/house. Must have been big in Britain.

1.5/10 didn't have drugs with me, so I guess that's why I didn't enjoy listening to this electronica DJ mix meant for between sets. Highlights:

This music does nothing for me.

beep boop honk shoo

WE NEED MUSIC!! а не тревожность и ощущение, что я лежу в аппарате МРТ

My life would have been better if I never heard this.

My favorite part was the short run time.

Another album never to listen to in one’s life time !! Shit. Donkey Doctor 🫤👎🏻

p622. 1989. 1 star. Tedious electronica. I am sure I played Candy Crush with this as the background music. Bonus point for Pacific State, but otherwise this is a hard pass.

7777 44 4 8 8 999 3 2 66 222 33 6 88 7777 444 222 3 33 888 666 444 3 666 333 6 33 777 444 8 Type that into your Mum's Motorola, lads. 0 HIGHLIGHTS: THE NUMBERS, MASON. WHAT DO THEY MEAN?

Techno beats with repetitive lyrics, usually just a single line repeated again and again. Hard pass. Best song: Pacific 202

In my opinion, electronic albums normally don’t age well. This album is not an exception.

It was the auditory equivalent of being molested. One star

Early electronic music simply did not age well.

Ah yes, an album that has the most annoying noises ever created…. And yet somehow it’s on this list

Techno slop

Very bad

This is god awful

Rubbish

Really annoying. Probably a frontrunner of drum & bass or something (which I actually like), but I don't like this repetitive sound. Sounds very low quality

This is dance music, not listening music. I had to fast forward through the whole thing.

Wow, that‘s bad stuff.

Very annoying

not a fan

Not good at all

Daft Punk beta

Not good.

I dunno. I assume this has some historical significance, like it was the precursor to the rave culture in Britain. But every song sounds exactly the same to me & because of that every one bleeds into the other. Boring, boring, boring.

Best part about the album is it’s only 39 minutes.

Garbage

Another album that should be 1001 albums that make me want to rip my ears off. Must be what Van Gogh listened to.

Very electronic music with some mumbling singing over it. Sounds like it was made on a Casio keyboard with a cassette recorder. Pass.

Did not like it .It was only a cluster of sounds

Zu Techno Psychodelisch.

Day583 - sometimes you find unexpected treasures and sometimes you find a pile of dog poo. this is the latter.

This is the type of album I'm always surprised to see popping up on this list. Perhaps I've just never met anyone who enjoys this type of vibe, but I'm half convinced that they don't exsist and we're all being collectively gaslit.

Struggling to think one thing I liked about this album. The first track sounded like an alarm but little did I know that it was just downhill from there. I appreciate how influential they were in the early electronic music scene but did not enjoy this at all.

Not for me. 1/5

This was pretty bad...

Not for me

Very strange album, didn’t care for it much. Especially that one that sounds like birds chirping the whole time, Pacific 202, that was awful

Stressigt!

Beep bop boop beep bop… this crap suuuuucked. 1001 album worthy: no - 99/183

not for me. 80's edm

This one's a no from me, dawg. 1.5 stars.

I can't imagine what state of mind you have to be in to enjoy this.

This is NOT one of the 1001 albums you MUST hear before you die It wasn't one of the 1001 albums you needed to hear in 1989 Ill go as far as to say it probably wasn't one of the 1001 albums you needed to hear in the month it was released

I don't know exactly why but I couldn't get in to this album at all. It has some nice thing going on but the vibe just isn't there for me. After I listened I read about the album and my only conclusion is that acid house maybe isn't for me.

I guess if you're high in a rave club this is a fine beat to dance to? Just doesn't do anything at all for me. And while we're probably rapidly approaching the point where GenAI can make good music indistinguishable from creative artists, I'm pretty sure computers could already make music this good 20 years ago.

Some other review: "This album has some of the most complex and beautiful drum programming" Narrator: "It doesn't." The drum programming, just like everything else, is incredibly repetitive and tiring and it's yet another semi-obscure and - at best - semi-relevant British album on this list that makes you wonder why you're bothering with this project.

Did not like, too repetitive

Thanks 90 by 808 State. I have a headache now.

I’m beginning to think the person who wrote the book is a sadist, why else would he imply that all should listen to this excrement if not to make people suffer. No further review, bargain bin trash like this does not deserve consideration.

Love to waste most my Monday commute listening to someone cycle through a selection of samples. In isolation there were bits that could have been grown into half decent songs but nah, just play with some of the settings and throw a few annoying high pitch sounds on top every now and then, job done. Make sure to make the album last far longer than it has any right to as well.

Absolutely not.

Listening to this album gives me great regret, and a headache. That's a no

Not my thing.

Sometimes music just isn't good. This is one of those times.

I saw "british electronic" and I audibly sighed. Then I realized it's from the 80s and I'm even less enthused. I can do 90s euro techno, but from the 80s? IDK I like electronic, generally, but not this, 1*

Dense in a meaningless way. Synths sound like presets. Loops are non-musical and seem pasted together--and result in incoherent songs that feel formless and random while still unfortunately relying on 4-on-the-floor dance structure. Unlistenable; no thanks.

Have come to the realization I hate electronic music

🎧Once again finding that I do not like acid house. This isn’t offensively bad, but it’s so generic sounding. I get it, it was very unique and exciting for 1989. Does not hold up today. Give me something like Deee-Lite or C&C Music Factory instead.

I think I've written a similar thing on every single EDM album I've been assigned on this website. Either the person picking these albums knows something I don't about the history of EDM music, or they have terrible tastes when it comes to this genre. I'm sure this was revolutionary or something in 1989, but I don't know...

Too repetitive (and yes, I know that’s the point).

Respectfully, fuck this shit. 1/5

Never heard of them. Area code for Hawaii? I was in college so if this was hot I would have been aware. 30 years later and these songs have an average listen count of 250K, that's not much for popularity or staying power. In listening to it I can't quite make out what secured them a slot on the T1001 list. It sounds like sped up New Order with female vocals on one track and no vocals on the rest of the album. I got zero good vibes from this mess, nothing groud breaking or catchy. This is in the $1 bin at an record store you might visit. One star, thanks for trying.

Yeah I really wanted to listen to 40 minutes of arcade music

Hated it

I fear this isn’t my type of music.

Didn't need to get very far into this album before I knew this wouldn't be getting any love from me. What is up with the shitty 80s and 90s UK techno on this list? Really, we can all die happily having never listened to your favorite house records.

When I was listening to this album, I got so overstimulated that I spilled hot oil and potatoes all over my kitchen and it was a total mess to clean up.

Soulless.

Probably great at a rave but not sure I need to listen to it on a cold Tuesday by myself!

Not a fan. There was like one or two songs that I didn’t mind.

ravi aba

Not my thang! To techno for me

How many electronic/dance/triphop albums are on this list. It sounds fine at times, but then I realize I have 5 more songs like this

cobra bora more like giving me a headahce nvm i cant do this album anymore kms

Nope, pass, sorry not my cuppa

I think I’m beginning to sour on this project

This was a trial. Perhaps if I was chemically enhanced and on a dance floor this might have worked. Sitting at home with headphones on, I found it had nothing to recommend 1/5

90 points from a possible 808

Borderline annoying, and absolutely no songs I ever need to hear again.

I'm simply not into this genre. There are worse things I've listened to on the 1001 list, but this is just too computer-y and repetitive for me.

This sounds like stage music for old Super Nintendo games with a terrible karaoke track over it.

I had a bad feeling about an album titled a number by artists titled by 808 State. What a horrendous experience of lame bleeps, and noises. Favorite Song: "Ancodia"

I made this shit on a school keyboard in year 8…

This is an entire album of 90’s Nokia ringtones strung together in song form. 808 should be 404 because talent was not found.

Monotonous and tiresome. Every so often I would realize a song was still playing, get annoyed by it, and skip to the next track.

This album’s existence is proof that drugs negate brain cells.

This so wasn't the vibe today. 1.

More pointless music meant for stoners who like to hang out in abandoned warehouses and marvel at glow sticks.

Not a fan

Awful noise

Hot steaming garbage

This album is hot garbage. Awful vocals, outdated late 80s/early 90s beats. Turned off after 2 songs. 1/10 (0.5/5)

Bleep Bloop trance that makes zero impression.

The sound in 90 by 808 State simply does not interest me. I acknowledge it's different and 808 State were electric music pioneers, but acid house and techno do very little for me considering how repetitive those genres always are. The single "Pacific 202" was probably the most interesting for me due to the nature aspect. Respectfully, this was a struggle to listen to.

Not a fan…

I would not sit and listen to this type of music for enjoyment. I listened to the album in its entirety, it's not all bad but it got on my nerves after a while.

If you dress like a doosh and buy your clothes from the mall, I bet they play this album at your favorite store.

Típica música de boate que ainda não bate para mim.

Well after a familiar start with Pacific Start which I knew it quickly degenerated into a long boring procession of dance music. One of the things which intrigues me here is do the people who actually like this stuff put on the disc and sit down to enjoy it like I would if listening to a classic album by Pink Floyd say? (For Pink Floyd insert your own favourite who you would sit and listen) Or is it a case that they would only listen when out clubbing or whatever the occasion is when this stuff is played? I just cannot imagine putting this on for a leisurely analytical play but like I have said before I’m getting on now and this music was never produced for the likes of me. 1/5 14/8/24

They say most of electronic music sucks, this album is proof that they are right

Just beeps, it's just beeps.

Boring electronic…next album please

This was all very unpleasant.

Album 462 of 1001 808 State - 90 Rating : 1 / 5 Electronica BS. Geez, I hate that crap.

You know what? I don't think this album was intended for Monday mornings and getting caught up on emails. I need different drugs and a different mindset to get on this level - the coffee just ain't cutting it. It's far less irritating and dated than some of this kind of thing i've heard before but I still had to skip a lot of it. Not for me, probably never was.

Nah man, nah. This sucks. The album cover is ugly too.

Ja global avg jatkaa hupputyötään.. meikäläistäkö ei enää tarvita.. köydenpäätyyn vetämään vaan avg alas... Paskaahan tämä.. Eka biisi magical dream yllätävän omanlaatuinen kaunis biisi jonka jälkeen hankala laskea ykköseen... pitää useampi biisi kuunnella

I feel like there is a better album that can be used instead of this one for this genre. At not point did the music get above background noise level and it actively got worse culminating in whatever that last song was. I'm not a fan of this genre and I will not be pursuing any more from this artist.

Das mag ich nicht, das ist viel zu anstrengend.

idk anything about music theory but as a person with ears, this shit stinks

Aaaaagh! Maddening hour of techno gobbledygook.

Yet 80s/90s British band. Wikipedia defines the genre for this one as “acid house”, 1001albums calls it techno. I was hoping for something good today. Guess not. On to it: Nope. This is just as bad as I expected. Soulless. Background music for the rave scene, to keep you pulsing along with the drugs. I mean, it serves a purpose, but it is entirely disposable as music. Nothing remotely memorable. No discernible melodies. Looking at reviews, it seems the positive reviews carry a “nostalgia for the aesthetic”. I wasn’t there, so I don’t have that. Certainly nothing I “needed” to hear. 1/5

Never of of them and didn’t like!

inte kul alls

This album is unlistenably bad. Perhaps it had a huge impact on the genre at the time, but the only impact it has for me is to remind me that the genre really fucking sucks.

A long string of sound effects and random volcals on top B-side keyboard music beds. Not a fan.

i did not need to hear this at all

Didn’t like it. Couldn’t listen to the whole thing. Listened to most of 3 tracks. Not for me

1) Who would have thought that futuristic music from 1989 would sound dated?!?! 2)There's 40 minutes of my life I'll never get back 3) Why is this on this list?

Not a fan...is it electronica

Glaube ich bin zu wenig am druggen, um das feiern zu können

inconsequential electronic dance music. 1.5 stars

dnf det var för mycket. jag skulle ha blivit galen. sry.

Weird 1/5

Could not find on Amazon Music

It got me bored soo easily and soo quickly that shocks me. I mean, it's just a pure weird instrumental thing i don't understand maybe because i'm not a fan o this type of music. It might be great in a party with lots drugs and teens there. So no, i don't think this good.

nice electronica

Synthesized dance tracks. Punchy rhythms. More instrusive than interesting.

Gefällt mir nicht.

i hate this with a passion

You've heard of the Beatles 50 years after they split up? There's a reason for that. You've never heard of 808 State? There's a reason for that too. Don't waste your time.

Dirty warehouse vibes, all forgettable

I hate this. We were overdue for something like this though, they’ve been kind to us lately.

Couldn't wait for this to be over. Electronic music just isn't for me.

Þetta fannst mér ekkert spes. Ekki minn tebolli og hvarf alveg inn í bakgrunninn án þess að ég muni eftir neinu lagi.

Frekar mikið drasl

My first attempt via Sonos to search for this artist came up with The Chemical Brothers. Not a great start. It was about to get worse when the Amazon music bespoke album found the album no problem. I think I saw 808 State live in 1990. Supporting Depeche Mode at Wembley Arena. They were not memorable. Pacific 202 is vaguely memorable. As nor is this album. I wasn’t an irresponsible e’s and whizz person at the time. I didn’t go to raves and I didn’t scream “aceeed” whilst listening to the radio. This album does nothing for me except reinforce most musical merit is down to nostalgia rather than worth. I’m sure others who experienced the “not working for a bank in a graduate recruitment programme” crowd will fund nostalgia in this record but I find nothing. No melody, no tune, no structure and no enjoyment. I’ll listen to it all but never again snd it’s giving me a headache.

prog rock? very boring, not a fan

# 81 : what? Who? Why? - Thank you it is only short! This album should have been sold with a free hit of ecstasy LOL. I don't want to listen to THAT again! 05/10/2023

Hot garbage - DNF

Nah, cannot be doing with that. Admittedly was listening to it whilst stuck on a plane on a runway but I don't think that was the only reason for not enjoying it.

This did not age well. I mean, Pacifica 202 is a classic and very likely will always be. But this acid house/techno sound really died out a long time ago and sounds extremely dated.

Dear people who like this type of music, Can you explain why you like it? I’m not trying to be a jerk - I love all different types of music but this electronic stuff does absolutely nothing for me. What’s the attraction? What do you feel from it? Thank you.

Electronica garbage. Why is there so much of this crap on this list?

I am not an electronica guy. All the beeps and boops are there but they don’t amount much to me. This just isn’t something I enjoyed sitting through.

The worst thing about electronica is that there is just no semblance of any soul or heart - at all. This record is something that I'd expect to hear in a post-apocalyptic night club that's run by robots who have no idea what real music sounds like.

It must have been a real stretch to include 1,001 albums, because in no world is this one deserving of a listen before checking out.

realmente muito ruim kkkkk. na primeira música achei que ia ser legal, até que só ficou completamente repetitivo, extremamente chato de ouvir. ao final não aguentava mais e só queria que terminasse. péssimo álbum.

Sounds like half a dozen budgies in a tumble dryer

Pero qué es esta re mil mierda? Ni voy a opinar

This was not up my alley. It was like weird house music. 2/10 I did not enjoy it

Is there actually someone unironically listening to this? I'm not sure this is music

Not for this list

I realllyyy do not like albums that repeat a million times. Or sound like this. It was too long in general, and for sounding like total crap it didn’t help one bit. Boo.

Generic electronic music representing the time it came out in, yes, but in what way is this to die for?

Electronic Synthesizer music just doesn't resonate with me.

An album a child could have made with a fisher price keyboard.
