I've never been a fan of the genre, it's probably a cultural thing. While I've been able to listen to several albums and enjoy parts of them, this proved impossible with this one. I got three tracks in before decidiing life is too short.

Disappointed - some well crafted songs, but not really a fan of Young's voice.
I'm sure that musically, it has some merit, but I didn't enjoy this at all. Really was a "WTF did I just listen too" moment for me.
I expected to hate this, it's not a genre of music that I enjoy - but while I cannot honestly say I'd rush out an buy it, parts were far more "listenable" than I'd anticipated.
I'm not sure why I disliked this album as much as I did. Possibly the vocalists voice, possibly because it was blamd enough to qualify as "hotel lobby music". I was really glad to get to the last track.
While I can accept this is a groundbreaking ablbum a a genre, it is "unlistenable".
It may be utterly unfair to give this a low score, because the man is a legend, and must be doing something right. Maybe it is because of the age of the album and because of the influence he had on the music (I genuinely don't know, I am not a fan of C&W) - but this album almost sounds like a parody to me - an album put together of C&W cliches.
Genuinely cannot understand why this album is on the list. There were so may better electronic bands around at that time. IMO this is a poor album from an overrated band.
I'm really not a fan of this genre, but enjoyed this more than I anticipated.
When I saw this on the list, I'd never heard of the artist - and seeing it was a recent album I defaulted to my "no good music made since 1990" mode (I'm old). I was wrong. I very much enjoyed this album. I like his voice, the instrumentation. I'll definitely add this to my collection.
I've never been a fan of the genre, it's probably a cultural thing. While I've been able to listen to several albums and enjoy parts of them, this proved impossible with this one. I got three tracks in before decidiing life is too short.
It's pleasant enough, but I can see nothing about this album that makes it stand out in any way - certainly not enough to be rated among 1001 "greats"
One of the joys of this album list is that it gets me to listen to things of which I was completely unaware, and have no preconceptions. This was such an album. I enjoyed it but am not sure I'd listen again - the sections I really enjoyed started to become repetitive quite quickly, and I am not sure if my inability to understand the lyrics setracts from my enjoyment. Overall, I'm glad to have found "something new"
Well, it's different. Not sure I'd bother to listen to it again.
There are brief spells where everything comes together, and it is musically great. Unfortunately it is surrounded by long periods of tedious self indulgence.
Some samples, some drumbeats, and shouting - lots and lots of shouting. It gets very boring after a minute or two.
After Nevermind, I found this a huge disappointment. Nearly 30 years after it's release, I still do.
One of those albums I just cannot see merits inclusion on this list. I didn't hate it, but I think I'd have to be on something chemical to have enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this more than I anticipated.
I enjoyed this in that it was very different- I'd not really heard anything like it before. The background jazz was pleasant, but the album got pretty boring and samey after a couple of tracks. There seems great rapport between Waits and the audience - making me feel like I'm missing out on an in joke. Glad I listened, probably won't bother again.
I don't "get" Hip Hop/Rap etc. It's almost certainly a culture thing. I've tried to listen to every album of these genres that have appeared on my list, and while I've rarely rnjoyed them, I can see why they are included. I have no idea what makes "All Hail the Queen" in any way special - to me it seemed nothing by samples and trite, meaningless lyrics. I made it through 5 tracks before deciding "Life is too short".
I can see why prog rock gets a bad name. I expected to like this far more than I actually did, but found much of it fairly tedious.
I have to really hate an album before I give it one star, and I didn't actually hate it , just found it totally bland and uninspiring. There must be reasons why someone would make such an album, and why so many people seem to like it or equally that somebody thought about including it in a list of top albums. I just cant understand them. 1.5/5 at best
Nostalgia attack for me. This was a major part of the soundtrack of my first year a college. Listening again for the first time in decades, I'd forgotten just how beautifully put together some of these tracks are. Too much deadwood to give it a 5, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
Probably not bad enough to only rate one star. Not really worth two. I don't get it. There are albums on this list that I really don't like, but can see why they deserve to be here - but this one? Early Beatles albums contain several covers but they are important because of the group and what they became. I cannot see anything in the Sonics to seperate them out from any number of 60s groups.
When I started using this site, I did so with the hope of exploring more styles of music. One of the unfortunate aspects is that it has merely reinforced my prejudices againsy certain type of music. I am not fond of Country music, and this album seems to represent everything I dislike about it. For me.
I know this album rates quite highly, but I genuinely fdon't get the Beastie Boys. To me, all there albums are just an hour of people shouting.
I listened to the first track and a half. So bad that I randomly skipped to a few other songs. Repetitive, boring, no redeeming features.
I don't like Morrissey the person, but can't deny I really enjoyed this album
No idea how to rate this. Quite possibly the weirdest album I've ever listened to, but did get to the end. Absolutely should be on a list of "must listen" albums - but not sure I'd want to play it again.
Another confusing album for me as it classes as Country. I can't say I really liked it, but I disliked it less than most country music.
Ten seconds in and "whiney" guitars, I knew I was going to hate this. I lasted 3 songs. Nothing personal, I just really dislike this style of music.
I'm presuming you have to take some sort of drug to be able to listen to this.
No idea why this album made the list. Overlong songs, annoying vocals - I really disliked everything about it with the possible exception of the cover art.
I am not a fan of Rap. I knew within 30 seconds that "miserable British rap" would be even worse. I tried skipping tracks to see if it got any better, it didn't.
A pretty sound, but after listening to it, I cannot remember a single track, moment or lyric.
I was trying to be fair when listening to this, concentrate on the music rather than the person. To be fair it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - but it is still awful.
The problem with world music is often not knowing any context: Was this groundbreaking?, did it set trends? etc. All I can judge it on is "Did I enjoy it? No!
I quite enjoyed it, but it sounded like a 28 minute advert for Martini.
A great example of why I love this project. I'd never heard of the group or the album. I wouldn't have expected to like the genre. Overall I really, really enjoyed this.
