Reviews (page 2 of 7)

My parents listened to this album at least once a weekend for like 5 years, so almost every song feels like a classic, tho it’s only because I personally have had way too much exposure to this album. I used to think it was kind of embarassing for my dad, who otherwise has cultivated an almost comically masculine persona, to be SO into Sheryl crow. But you know what? I get it. I love her too, Dad.

Because of course!

Powerful album with provocative lyrics from personal to political without holding punches along the way. Extremely varied styles from folk/songwriter, pop, jazz, r&b and more. Very apt closing of I will be me. 4.6

Great album, you can see how she got so big

Great album

Crazy to think this album was a debut. Sheryl Crow is one of the best singer songwriter players in a generation. “I Shall Believe” is one of my favorites.

I love Sheryl Crow ;-)

I've heard a few songs before and liked them but discovered that there was a lot of other good music on this album as well.

I expected this to be 11 “All I Wanna Do”s. I was both wrong and right. I was wrong in that these songs are interesting and Dylanesque. But I was right in that even the hit “All I Wanna do” is weird and complex. So yeah, it is 11 “All I Wanna Do”s, but that’s a good thing.

Heard at least half of these wonderful songs, but never thought they were on one single album. Brilliant!

Man I should've given her a chance sooner

So I typically don’t like 90’s music, and Singer/Songwriter is one of my lowest rated categories in this project. This is an exception. I love Sheryl’s gravelly voice, the crisp acoustic guitar tracks, and the simple, yet well done arrangements. I read one review that said she is the female Tom Petty, and I can see that. I love the story telling aspect of each song. I just really enjoy this album. I used to have this on CD and listened to it all the time, then I think a coworker took it. I had not listened to this in years, and I’m genuinely glad this one came up today.

I am a tall, bearded man with a bald head and a love for powerlifting. And I absolutely adore this album — why on earth has nobody exposed me to this?

Run, Run, Run Strong Enough Can't Cry Anymore All I Wanna Do If it makes you happy Cijeli album je dobar

i feel like i was just possessed by the spirit of a woman going through a divorce in the 90’s for 50 minutes. loved it.

Good memories came to me.

Last few songs really caught my attention and all I wanna do is a classic

My kind of music! Love!!

I bloody love Sheryl Crow. She's fantastic. Saw her at Glastonbury in 2019 and she was so so good. I really enjoyed this album but I definitely wouldn't say it's her best. Her self-titled album which came next is definitely the best and the one after that is also great so I'm surprised this album is here, nonetheless, it's great.

❤️❤️❤️

As a teenager I had a fairly sizeable teenage crush on Sheryl Crow - I don't believe unreasonably however I don't think she was really ever on the radar of my immediate peers. I'd never really listened to this album although I am fairly familiar with many of the songs (the most prominent of which, All I Wanna Do is actually my least favourite), but I wish I had, Sheryl just became even more attractive in my eyes, sexy and talented! I'm sure this will be some comfort to her

Never too much girl rock. Crow isn't my all time fave but I'd listen again.

Brilliant. Two of my all-time favourites (Leaving Las Vegas & Can't cry anymore) and the rest is good stuff, too - though the live acoustic versions are better.

Yeah, good album

no into SC

Curioso. Cuando salió el disco, no me gustó nada. Pero actualmente sí. Es muy buena.

One of the greatest albums of all time

Great 90s memories. Fabulous collection of songs.

I listened to a lot of top 40 radio in the 90's, so I'm pretty familiar with Sheryl Crow's singles, but this is my first time listening to a whole album of hers. I've always found her music pretty inoffensive, but it's never been something I've gravitated towards. I was underwhelmed to be assigned this album today, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. All of these songs are really well written, from the more reflective "Leaving Las Vegas," to the lighthearted "All I Wanna Do." The instrumentation on this album is great too, and I never noticed until today that there's a great use of a vibraslap (at least I think that's what I heard) on "All I Wanna Do." I really enjoyed the funky hook on "Solidify" and the rap-like flow of "The Na-Na Song." I often think of Sheryl Crow as primarily acoustic music, but this album proves that she can do it all. This album was completely under the radar for me, but I thought it was great. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to fire up a doobie, attend a political rally, and blast "Soak Up the Sun."

Really liked no one said it would be easy, what I can do for you, we do what we can. Sheryl crow has a very recognizable voice. Smoky and sultry, enjoy the way she layers her voice for choruses. She has an incredible blend of rock, pop, blues, jazz. This was her debut album. The initial one was scrapped but is leaked on internet. Mental note to find that as she deemed it to be overproduced. This one is definitely raw-just her full-hearted vocals and instrumentals. Incredible album.

I think I’ve heard this album before, but it has been a while. There are a lot of great songs on this and I really enjoyed hearing it again. A close listen to this album makes me realize how great a songwriter Sheryl Crow is.

I've loved this album since hearing Strong Enough when I was 12. A masterpiece. She never came close to this again.

It's amazing how well this album has aged. It's just so good. So, so good.

HUGE hit in 1993. I saw her on that tour opening for Blues Traveler, the tables have turned since then. Solid album with hits and an excellent mix of songs that even a dude more into hard rock, grunge (living in Seattle at the time) and alternative music could get into. You couldn't NOT hear "All I Wanna Do" if you tried, it was everywhere. But "Leaving Las Vegas" was the first single and the one that got me interested, she was hot and singing about Vegas! "Strong Enough" & "Can't Cry Anymore" were solid radio tracks. My favorites at the time, and they stand up well, were "What I Can Do For You" which had a sexiness, and "No One Said It Would Be Easy". The only weak tracks were "Solidify" & maybe "We Do What We Can". "I Shall Believe" is a pretty song. This was a joy to revisit and reminisce. Chicks were waaay into this one and I was fresh out of college, so it was hard to avoid, you had to assimilate if you wanted a shot! 4 stars, it holds up well, had the hits, still gets airplay and is solid from top to bottom.

I was surprised by this album. I thought for sure this would be a 3 but after listening to it and reflecting it’s a 4

A lovely woman with a beautiful voice! I love her passion. ★★★★

This was a surprise at how much I really liked this record. After reading about its history, I liked it even more. Sheryl hits on many tones and genres and her songwriting hit me at a point when I unexpectedly needed it. Very well thought out record that makes making music fun again, something I’m practicing in my own life. I’ll certainly revisit this one again in the future before I die.

The debut album from Sheryl Crow does not disappoint. There's a distinct 90s upbeat tone that comes through a lot of the instrumentation and singing, and especially for today's day and age that was welcome. The most successful single, All I Wanna Do, is the best track from the album and not all the tracks live up to that level, but I still very much enjoyed Leaving Las Vegas and Run, Baby, Run.

When I saw today's album pop up, my first thought was that I haven't thought about her name for a long time, and assumed I also hadn't heard her in a long time. And then I realized I hadn't ever really tracked who sang those eternal hits "Strong enough" and (most especially) "All I wanna do", the latter of which I think I heard earlier this week on the radio. I never really gravitated towards her sound, and never heard this album in full before, but I remain *very* impressed at how well she did with this debut album, and how well it's aged, at least with most of the six (!) singles and about half of the rest. (It also occurs to me that Lucinda Williams probably owes quite a bit to Sheryl Crow's 90s successes, as there's an interesting similarity to their styles even if the music is fairly different.) It's kind of a bummer to read about all the (literally) he-said/she-said arguments within the Tuesday Night Music Club about who should get credit for the music and songs on this album--some of which seems to be tied to her previous album that was apparently unfit for publication, but mired her in debt--but in the immortal words of Kurtis Blow, "these are the breaks". I'm not sure she entirely deserves four stars for this album, but it seems considerably better than the average 3-star album.

gotta give Mizzou legend Sheryl Crow her due, its a pretty decent album. got a classic with "All I Wanna Do", and a few other nice songs that I enjoyed.

I think I have a bit of nostalgia with this album because my mom loved Sheryl Crow. A lot of these songs remind me of my childhood and I think they still hold up today. All I wanna do is a classic LA 90s song.

Loved this - especially Run, Baby Run

I forget about how good Cheryl Crow was back in the day. Even I admired this from afar, there was no way I would have admitted at the time just how good 'Run Baby Run' is. If I have have bought this when it came out, my life could have changed and taken me down a completely different path. I might even have been one of those sad bastards who do line dancing with a massive hat on. Fortunately this never happened. What I shall say is this is a forgotten (by me) gem of a record and if I see a copy in a charity shop, I shall just have to don a massive hat in disguise and buy it.

Nice chill songs! A bit one note, though

This was huge when it came out! Some great songs on here. Massive on radio.

was happy to hear this in its entirety

This is way better than I expected it to be. Every track is catchy to some degree, and after the first listen I realized I hadn't once thought about skipping ahead to the next song. Sure, it's safe early-'90s pop-rock, but it's executed incredibly well. The songwriting is strong, the hooks are memorable, and the album maintains a consistent quality from start to finish. I don't see myself reaching for this album very often, but it's absolutely something I can throw on and enjoy. More importantly, it's one of those albums where my wife would be completely on board, which is sometimes its own kind of endorsement.

Sheryl Crow's music has never connected with me. It's always just "been" and did not compel me to feel happy, sad, excited, etc. I also can't forgive her for the list of bad cover songs that she has recorded. I knew a lot of the songs on this album, because I existed as a human being in the 90's. One thing I appreciated as I listened to this album is there was not a ton of work done to make sure her voice sounded as beautiful as possible. Especially on Leaving Las Vegas, it sounds raw and I imagine there would be a lot more cleaning up the vocals today since women are urged to sound like Stevie Nicks/Janis Joplin or to have a beautiful voice. The album ends with two very slow and long songs. I feel like it slows a lot of the momentum of this album down. It does not end on a strong note for that reason. Tuesday Night Music Club also starts off with a slower song in Run Baby Run, though a good song, it doesn't start the album off with momentum. I think this is sequenced oddly. My favorite songs: Run Baby Run Leaving Las Vegas Strong Enough Can't Cry Anymore No One Said It Would Be Easy All I Wanna Do

I like this album. I knew the hits but never listened to the whole thing. I still think "All I Wanna Do" is the best song, but the next song (We Do What We Can) is great - surprisingly jazzy. I always thought of crow as an artist that made it OK to like country-tinged music, but she actually has a mix of styles in the album.

Ooof. I used to own this on CD as a kid, but I don't think I've listened to it since 1999 or so. Time to revisit some old memories! Oh, that was kinda surreal. Memories from around the time I hit puberty, surfacing as I'm entering perimenopause, it's a very personal experience I don't expect any other listeners to have. Still, decent music, and I don't regret this particular trip down memory lane.

4.25 - There is so much nostalgia associated with this album. I was a big fan when it came out. There were more lulls than I expected/remembered though, so it's not quite a 5 star banger for me.

Not my cup of tea, but it's a great album to chill to

We all know and remember The Tuesday Night Music Club! That’s an impressive debut, Sheryl. ‘Nuf said. (4.0*) Great debut album, I like her voice. It’s believable. (3.85*s) Liked it back in ‘93, still do.

This album got much play from Mom at the Avenida Verde house and brought me right back to the back patio. Never realized how somber and sad this album actually is since "All I Wanna Do" was the smash hit and stands out. Personally my favorite is "Leaving Las Vegas" and gets play every time I drive out of the Sin City after a long weekend of debauchery. This truly is a great debut that shows Sheryl has depth. Multiple musical genres hit. Haven't listened to this record in over 20 years but can still sing most of the songs and forgot about some of the sleepers like "Solidify" and "The Na-Na Song." Great SoCal shoutout album with some deep meaning and fun jams. Solid one from Crow coming in at 4.1 stars.

What a fantastic debut by Sheryl Crow and the group of musicians that associated with the Tuesday Night Music Club. This album deservedly got regular play in the family household all through the 90's and beyond. While I imagine this is classified as pop or rock, there's something about the free-form style, lack of rhyming lyrics and odd swagger that comes from Sheryl and the band that differentiates itself from other acts of its time. The singles are still solid crowd-pleasers that capture an air of 90's positivity and scratch an itch nowadays. While I have a lot of fondness for this album I had evidently blanked/ignored/overlooked some of the slower songs that do bring the album down a touch. Stopping off for 5+ minutes for No One Said It Would Be Easy or We Do What We Can kills a lot of the momentum that the rest of the album builds up. While they aren't bad songs in their own right, they eliminate all of the best parts of what this group has to offer. The sum of the parts hit its peak when the band gets to jam around Sheryl's smooth vocals telling an offbeat story with some minor touchpoints. The bottom line is that the vast majority of this album is great fun. All I wanted to do was have some fun, and Sheryl Crow and company nailed that aspect. While the hits deserve the airplay they received, I was surprised how much I enjoyed deep cut Solidify on this go around. An album very deserving of its list entry and will continue to come back to over the years. 3.80 stars

so much more substance than originally expected. people seem to forget about sheryl crow, and it's a shame because her music is so much more than meets the eye.

Great songs I forgot I loved

This was a fun album to go back and listen to the deep cuts on. Really liked the jazziness of We Do What We Can. Also love I Shall Believe.

Pleasantly surprised

Surprised, with a very mellow down opening. All I wanna do is definitely the standout though

Pretty good, actually

bon album pop ! 1er son à sampler et vrmt trop lourd

I bopped to this back in the day. I mean… I enjoy it. It’s not transcendent to me. But a solid 3.7

Enjoyed this but the chord progressions or something are getting boring with all these basically rock albums. This was likely a knock-off alanis morissette to me. Top track: I Shall Believe (I like an emotional end track to an album and I was in the middle of a very hot leafletting round in the sun when I heard it)

Skönt stil. Och vilken röst hon har!

Run baby run Leaving Las Vegas Strong enough All I want to do

Pretty good album with a few hits. Favourites: All I Wanma Do, Strong Enough, Run Baby Run.

Her next album is even better but this a great intro

I should listen to this album more regularly. Great stuff.

Ladybangers

It's good, I dig her.

Sheryl Crow is a treasure. She’s like if Tom Petty and Dolly Parton had a baby and the godmother was Carol King and Joni Mitchell is the fun aunt. All I Wanna Do gets it 4 stars by itself but the rest of the album is solid too.

Sheryl Crow – Tuesday Night Music Club (1993) On Day 105, I found myself leaning into the second half of this album much more than the first. While the whole project has a solid, rootsy 90s rock vibe, the deeper tracks really captured the moody energy I appreciate. "No One Said It Would Be Easy" was a great discovery, but "I Shall Believe" was honestly my favorite. It’s an immaculate closer with a vocal triumph that feels very sincere and conscious. The musicianship is consistent throughout, but it’s these more vulnerable, slow-burn moments that made the experience worthwhile for me. A solid 4/5.

A bit whiny sometimes, but the bangers are fun!

Some albums are just plain good. I can listen to this album anytime and enjoy it. The problem is that it isn’t an album where I say, “Man! I need to listen to this one again.” It is full of great songs like All I Wanna Do, Leaving Las Vegas, Strong Enough… 4/5

I wanted to give us a five, but it wasn’t quite there for me. However, I did really enjoy it. I wasn’t sure about “Run, Baby, Run” as an openers I listened to it again and it grew on me. When I heard “The Na-Na Song” it unlocked a deep memory of me listening to this on cassette or CD, I cannot remember. But I like that song a lot and I did as a younger person. I had completely forgotten about it. I appreciate what she tried to do with that jazz influenced number “We Do What We Can” at the end. Solid 4, maybe almost 4.5 for me.

This is one of those where I think objectively it feels pretty middling, but the amount of hours I spent listening to Sheryl Crow in the car as a kid just pulls it up for me.

I love OG Sheryl Crow and knew every word to every song. It was nice to listen to this whole album again.

So many songs on this album remind me of being in the dentist's chair as a kid listening to Key 103.1. 😂 Not a bad nostalgia trip!

This is a fun one to revisit. It's not for everyone but Sheryl's brand of very-timely (and subsequently dated) singer/songwriter/rock hybrid is exactly what I need today at the beginning of spring, on a sunny day in the mid-50s: it's brisk, bright and uplifting in a weird way. The first four songs and "All I Wanna Do" are enough of a qualifier for this record's greatness.

Not bad. Played out though. And never my thing to begin with.

decent country/pop record, with that song everyone has heard

Love this album, but likely because it brings back memories.

Loved it more than I expected

Man, she can really blend the accessible pop with the Tom Petty-like rock.

This is really really good Run,Baby,Run is my favourite, that chorus is superb Leaving Las Vegas is great The Run of ballads at the end are great. The little touches of disco hidden in there are great.

the debut album of miss sheryl crow. inspired by acoustic pop rock and a huge majority of the tracks are recorded at little jam sessions... perhaps on a tuesday? the genre that a lot of websites give me are the vaguest you can get, after listening to this album, i'm gonna call this "mom rock". soft rock for 30-50 year old mothers who drink coffee and shop at kohl's. it's peppy. it's pretty groovy. if there's one random thing i can say about her singing, she sounds kinda like tommy pickles when she belts.

Great pop folk album no skips

this was one of my mom's fav albums that she'd constantly play throughout my childhood, so I'm very familiar with this album. never thought i'd be rating it, but i think it'll be easy. i'll do my best to not let nostalgia cloud my judgement Run, Baby, Run - 4/5 Leaving Las Vegas - 4/5 Strong Enough - 5/5 Can't Cry Anymore - 4/5 Solidify - 3/5 The Na-Na Song - 3/5 No One Said It Would Be Easy - 3/5 What I Can Do for You - 3/5 All I Wanna Do - 5/5 We Do What We Can - 3/5 I Shall Believe - 5/5 Average score: 3.8/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this debut album, while still enjoyable to me, is a little strange to listen to now with more matured ears. it sounded like she was trying out everything and anything here, and not everything hit as well as i hoped. it's a country-rock album, but some tracks veer off the path quite a bit i don't doubt this was the shit back in the 90s though, and i can understand why it was appealing then as opposed to now. it just seems she didn't quite find her signature sound til maybe her 2nd album that being said, if i were giving a score with consideration to the sentimental memories attached to this album, i'm sure the score would be a little higher than it is. i liked most of this album growing up, i still enjoy it some now as an adult, and i will certainly come back to it when i want to reminisce on simpler times

Franchement bonne surprise.

Pretty amazing debut, I find it surprising that Run Baby Run wasn’t a hit - I think that’s my favorite song on the album.

****a good, easy listening album

Much, much better than I expected.

Jest w tym coś domowego i uspokajającego choć na pierwszy rzut oka, nie wiadomo gdzie

Crow is as 90s as it gets. While to most she is considered the pioneer of Alt-folk and popularizing “americana” again. But to me, as a Canadian, I can’t unhear the Blue Rodeo in her. All of these are good things. Tuesday Night Music isn’t no skips, but it’s better than you remember. 8.3/10

fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing else really to say i had a fun good time thank you sheryl crow

Had niet verwacht dat dit leuk zou zijn

Nice. And it's a woman....

After a week or two of obscure albums, it was nice to get this. Loved this album as a kid, but appreciate it more as an adult for the range.

I knew the singles very well, much better than the rest of the album. I can see why it was a hit!

This album's songs were all over "adult alternative" radio in the early 90's, and I experienced Crow fatigue. But now, listening through the whole thing, I realize it's a very solid album. A lot of credit has to go to the group of singer-songwriters and backing players-'the Tuesday Night Music club of the title--who encouraged and worked with her. Kevin Gilbert, David Baerwald, David Ricketts (who, together, as David and David had a great album of their own) and others were hugely important to this album. I don't think Sheryl Crow was ever again as good as on this one.

I think people can be unfair to Sheryl Crow sometimes, labelling her stuff as supermarket muzak. Shes a talented songwriter, at her best I hear a lot of Lucinda Williams. This record showcases a lot of range and kept me engaged the whole time. 3.5 rounded up

Was a fun listen. More up my alley than anticipated

Det er et ret legesyg album som kommer godt omkring. Det var en lille 4er inden "All i wanna do" , og efter var det en klar 4er. Jeg prøver om der kan puttes børn med albummet en anden dag, men min vurdering nu er ja.

I don't listenuch to country, but this album was a nice experience

I didn’t expect much from this but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Nothing on here blew me away or anything but there were also no tracks that I didn’t enjoy either. Top Track - Can’t Cry Anymore

Really good album.

first listen good stuff

Soooo many good tunes on this. 'Strong Enough', 'Leaving Las Vegas,' 'Can't Cry Anymore'...say less! This would be a 3.5 for me, but bumping to a 4 because this had such a mega impact on my contemporary female singer songwriter faves.

Love Cheryl

I had fun with this one! So very 90s

8 / 10

Pretty good for its time

All I Wanna Do was released almost a year after the album came out? TIL. And it's my least favorite hit of the era and of this album. I can kind of see why it's buried in the album--I'm guessing if they knew it would be huge it would've been the first track. Totally forgot Can't Cry Anymore existed, but it's really great. Even with the weird songwriting controversies, this is a more than solid debut.

This isn't a complicated record but it's worth noting that the blues (a genre frequently referenced, right from the jump) and Americana weren't particularly cool in 1993. Tom Petty's Wildflowers (an all-timer) wouldn't come out for another year and blues musicians weren't in vogue. Country music sounded like... something else. Then along comes Sheryl Crow with an album born from an eponymous songwriters' circle (see the names with writing credits on the album) and she busts into the national consciousness. She was the real deal and the recording process wisely shows it off -- 'Strong Enough' features a slightly raspy vocal track that's wholly uncharacteristic for mass-market recordings of women's voices in the early 90's. The preponderance of blues licks and steel guitar outside of a Nashville recording (this was made in Pasadena). It was a real cultural moment -- a woman who sounded as much like Petty and Mellencamp as she did any popular women of the day. She draws more from Bonnie Raitt and Dolly Parton than she does from Celine Dion. It's an altogether pleasant album. Crow is a good singer and writer of melodies and she and her backing band put together a sound that is as much a live jam in a good bar as it is a major production. Anyway, this is what punched through the heavy weave of corporate music control in 1993 from the place where actual people write music with their friends. It's not a work of staggering genius but it's really good and a surprisingly assured and diverse debut. 4/5

så myyysigt och feel good! hygge!

Surprised me in a good way!

Easy to listen to and fun, up-beat music that kind of blended in to the background. It's something I would expect to hear a lot on the radio and I mean that in the best way.

A very smooth badass listen. Didn’t expect to enjoy a Sheryl Crown album so much but this joint was nice.

Prob a 4.

Belíssimo álbum de pop. Vocais e arranjos ótimos. Roseselsa Quietsea II.

Lance Armstrong’s ex released an album? Who knew?

It's good, smooth voice

Is it one of the 1001 best albums of all time? No, probably not. Is it bright, fun and catchy as hell? Fuck yes it is!

I would rate this 3.5 if I could. Some of it was underwhelming, but I generally liked it. I was surprised that "All I Wanna Do" was buried so far down the track list!

The singles on this album hold up well enough to nudge this to a 4, but I don't think I'll be revisiting the album despite the nostalgia. 3.7

nette backgroundmusik für einen stressigen tag.

This album was everywhere when it came out. My whole family had a copy. Even my father, who is basically the mayor of Footloose, had a copy. Favorite from the album: Leaving Las Vegas

**In-Depth Review: *Tuesday Night Music Club* – Sheryl Crow (1993)** --- **🎧 Overview** *Tuesday Night Music Club* is Sheryl Crow’s 1993 debut album, a rootsy, genre-blending record that launched her into mainstream success. Born from a collaborative songwriting group (the "Tuesday Music Club"), the album blends rock, pop, folk, country, and even jazz influences. It’s a snapshot of early '90s Americana, with introspective lyrics, laid-back grooves, and a touch of irony. --- ### 📝 **Lyrics** Crow’s lyrics are **observational, emotionally resonant**, and often **autobiographical**, though universal in theme. Songs like “All I Wanna Do” are based on poetry (Wyn Cooper’s “Fun”), and showcase her knack for **storytelling with a wink** . “Leaving Las Vegas” and “Strong Enough” delve into **emotional vulnerability**, while “The Na-Na Song” offers a **stream-of-consciousness, Dylan-esque** political rant . > “My words are autobiographical, but thematically universal. Women will relate to ‘Strong Enough,’ but everyone has felt sick of their situation.” – Sheryl Crow --- ### 🎶 **Music & Style** Musically, the album is **eclectic**: - **“Run Baby Run”** opens with a **grunge-lite** edge. - **“All I Wanna Do”** is a **sun-soaked, funky jam**. - **“We Do What We Can”** ventures into **jazz and R&B**, with sultry vocals and unexpected instrumental breaks . - **“I Shall Believe”** closes the album with a **folk-tinged, hymnal ballad** . This variety gives the album a **jam-session feel**, true to its collaborative origins, but also makes it feel **slightly disjointed** at times. --- ### 🎛️ **Production** Produced by **Bill Bottrell** and **Dan Schwartz**, the production is **stylish but not slick** . It’s **loose and organic**, with a **live-room warmth** that complements Crow’s voice and the album’s introspective tone. Instruments like **upright bass, tambourine, and steel guitar** add texture and rootsy authenticity . --- ### 🧠 **Themes** The album explores: - **Emotional resilience** (“Strong Enough”) - **Existential restlessness** (“Leaving Las Vegas”) - **Everyday escapism** (“All I Wanna Do”) - **Personal and political commentary** (“The Na-Na Song”) There’s a **strong undercurrent of female empowerment**, but also **loneliness, disillusionment**, and **self-discovery**. --- ### 🌟 **Influence & Legacy** Though initially slow to catch on, the album became a **’90s cornerstone**, earning **three Grammy Awards** and a place in the book *1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die* . It’s **lyrically sharp**, **musically diverse**, and **emotionally resonant**, even if it occasionally loses focus. For many, it remains a **’90s classic** – a time capsule of **post-grunge Americana** and **confessional pop-rock**. A compelling introduction to one of the era’s most enduring voices.

I actually really enjoyed this, and pretty much most of the songs I really felt for. My favorite is "Can't Cry anymore"

All I Wanna Do still gets all the airplay (and too much of it in my opinion), but Strong Enough is the best song on this album by far. There are parts of the album where Sheryl’s vocals are a little whiny, but I still enjoyed listening to this album the whole way through.

I was only familiar with her single releases, and this album puts a completely different perspective on my impression of this artist.

A timeless classic, great lyrics and songs.

Way better than expected

When first hearing this album it was a welcome addition to the tradition of great singer songwriters. She was easy to listen to and great to look at…shame on my sexism.

Better than I expected

Tuesday Night Music Club (1993) überzeugt mit ausdrucksstarken Songs und Sheryl Crows markanter Stimme. Der Top-Song: „All I Wanna Do“ – ein lässiger Hit, der das Album berühmt machte.

Love me some Sheryl Crow and I like this album👍🏿👍🏿

When I first heard Leaving Las Vegas on the radio back in 1994 I knew I’d have to get this CD. I didn’t care that much for All I Wanna Do, but this sounded different and way more interesting to me. And I loved so many of the other songs once I listened all the way through. The first five songs were total bangers in my book, and the rest are all decent too. Listening today after so many years I was brought back to that time in my mind, and totally enjoyed this experience. The back half of the album is still weaker to me, but not bad at all. I don’t think this is her best album (her self titled and The Globe Sessions are superior for me) but I was glad to see it on the list.

This is a pretty record, and it's well produced, with good performances and focused playing and singing.

I dismissed it when it came out, and never listened to it again. The Globe Sessions is a nearly perfect album, so it's surprising to see this one on the list. But this album does deserve a listen, even if it's not the best in her catalog. Four stars.

There were some bangers on this album, beyond the hits I was familiar with.

This album was very pleasant! Lots of fun pop numbers mixed with silky smooth slow jams! Sheryl Crow is right there among Alanis Morrisette, Tori Amos and Fiona Apple as one of the most prominent songstresses of the 90s, and 'Tuesday Night Music Club' is certainly her crowning achievement! Best songs: All I Wanna Do, Leaving Las Vegas, Strong Enough 4/5 I may be a bit sporadic on these reviews over the coming days. Things are going on. I'm working through it. Thanks for understanding.

Great debut.

'She was born in November 1963 / The day Aldous Huxley died.' That'd be Nov 22, the same day JFK was assassinated. Known for brightness, Crow is also a subtle and at times hilarious lyricist, as that snatch evinces, as well as an exasperated realist w/ troubles and questions abounding: 'Well, got a brother / He's got real problems / Heroin - no / There's just no stopping him tonight / And I won't cry anymore.' In that sense, it's pop and it's not, not b/c pop music can't deal w/ dark matters but b/c she negotiates them as Bruce Springsteen or Neil Young might: w/ misdirection and irony that yet doesn't detract from her sincerity. I'm aware that she collaborated w/ other songwriters, but her vocals signify that the lyrics come from her own store.

Some of it was really good. Some of it was annoying and repetitive

All I Wanna Do, oh das kommt von ihr!?! Alle Stücke auf dem Album sind sehr, sehr hörbar.

This was an important album for me in the past, so it gets an extra star.

Wasn’t sure what to expect here, but I really enjoyed most of this. Obviously I knew The Hit Record, but otherwise have never knowingly heard any of Crow’s music. There’s a nice variety of stuff here, poppy, but a lot of it grounded in American roots styles with some stuff that reminded me of John Mellencamp, Bonnie Raitt, or Jackson Browne. All of which is a good thing. But this isn’t just that sort of music. There’s other stuff going on and ultimately it’s Crow’s music. And that seems pretty good, and in places excellent. And I rather like this. Which was unexpected. A solid 4 stars, pushing 5 at times

One of my favorite artists of the '90s. She's I've seen her live more than any other major artist, mainly because she keeps showing up at the festivals I go to. Her first three albums are Rock Solid. 9.7 ★★★★½

Superb!! 4 stars.

Pretty solid album, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. No real takeaways or surprises but a pretty easy to listen to.

Love this album. Strong writing.

Don't have much to say besides this is a pretty good piece of 90's pop rock. Solid 4 Stars.

wait its good. damn 90/100

Enjoyed this. Wish I’d been more aware of it at the time. A fascinating collection of songs.

Okayish

Sheryl Crow’s music has been inescapable for the past few decades. I was skeptical that I’d like this album, because the songs might have become played out. Nope. She’s a great songwriter and performer and the tracks are vary in style, but not in quality. This is a 4. Glad I listened.

Would be 5 but for Leaving Las Vegas, truly annoying

Cool how it was made/the tribute to them

I dug this. More so than I did when it came out. I get the hype now. I used to loathe Leaving Las Vegas. I’m with ya now, Sheryl!

“Leaving Las Vegas,” “Strong Enough” and “Can’t Cry Anymore” are great. “All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun” was so overplayed back in the day. I like other Sheryl Crow albums better, but this is a great debut.

Pretty good

Lieblingssongs: The Na-Na song, What I Can Do For You, All I Wanna Do

Sheryl Crow's introduction to the world showcased her ability to craft party songs, ballads, bluesy and folk rock, and even some jazz. That this eclectic range somehow works together is quintessential 90s. In retrospect you can see how promising this album was. At the time, there were skeptics. She answered them powerfully with her second, purposely self-titled album. And of course she's now had a strong, successful, respectable career. Favorite deep cuts from first listen: "Can't Cry Anymore" (actually a minor hit in the US), "We Do What We Can," and "I Shall Believe." Add to that "No One Said It Would Be Easy." These songs keep growing on me...

Between her rambling storytelling and infectious vocals, Sheryl Crow delights in her debut album. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of singles I recognized, and the rest of the album didn't disappoint either. Underneath the commercial pop wizardry, a real songwriter emerges with surprising strength. And she makes it seem effortless when you know it isn't. A welcome trip down memory lane!

7/10… soft rock / mellow pop

This was better than expected. It’s stronger lyrical than anything else. It only took me 30 years to finally listen to it.

a nice throwback. I can imagine what this would be like listening for the first time

Wait this is actually kinda groovy. This is a very nice vibe which I am surprisingly not hating. But would I listen to it again? Nah WAIT SOLIDIFY IS ACTUALLY REALLY FUN HOLD UP

sherly crow PLEASE let me join the tuesday night music club

7/10 - pretty fun! plenty of songs I liked hear, tho nothing profound

Kind of a mixed bag but… take my 4 stars Sheryl Crow

An excellent debut, songs with feeling and thump

All I wanted to was have some fun ... and this album delivered

Tuesday Night Music Club is Sheryl Crow's debut album and the name of a collaborative group that helped Crow write the album. The album was remarkably successful, and launched her career. Crow won three Grammys for the effort, including Record of the Year. Crow makes songs based in classic roots rock, with the story-telling of folk songs. Her clear, insightful lyrics and strong voice made a few of these songs into pop icons, including "Run, Baby, Run," "Strong Enough," and the biggest hit from the album, "All I Wanna Do."

i know Sheryl Crow is important to country music. I am not her biggest fan but this album is consistently bops and the lyrics of certain songs (which imo defines the genre) are bright and interesting.

Better than remembered. Great voice

Very good

I’m having a Sheryl Crow summer

Not my favorite style but the songwriting is great. Goood performance too.

One of the few albums already in the collection.

I don't know. I really don't. I definitely didn't hate this, but I'm not sure I loved it. Honestly, I may have to go against my own history and actually and biases and give this one high marks just based on her actual songwriting.

Büro, Heidenheim, Deutschland Macht Laune, gutes Album.

I know it’s poppy and basic, but I guess I kinda like that.

Sheryl Crow is the kinda artist that you tend to forget how iconic her music is. Really solid album, especially for a debut album!! I feel like I don't give Sheryl the attention she deserves. I haven't thought of her in like 20 years, but then when ya go back and listen to her music again, it is great. I think it may be because her music was played to death on the radio stations in the 90's/00's. One thing I never noticed before, but immediately heard upon today's listen was how the well known riff from Barenaked Ladies song "Pinch Me" was taken directly from Sheryl Crow's song "Leaving Las Vegas". Another interesting note: If you like Sheryl Crow's song "Strong Enough", look up Adam Baldwin's cover version...I like it even more! Favorite songs: Strong Enough, "Run, Baby, Run", Leaving Las Vegas, No One Said It Would Be Easy, Solidify, All I Wanna Do Least favorite songs: We Do What We Can 4/5

Fun re-listen. I really like Sheryl’s sound and vibe. Tory between a 3 and a 4. I guess my tastes are pretty basic because this does it for me

I know heading into this album that All I Wanna Do and Strong Enough are the big hits and that they will likely be the songs I like the least. Run, Baby, Run is a good start. Leaving Las Vegas was a single and it's good too. This album is much better than I remembered. As a 13 year old boy when it came out, I was not the target demographic though. Coldplay totally ripped off the lyrics for The Scientist from No One Said It Would Be Easy. No doubt that All I Wanna Do is the worst song on the album. Everything else is actually a pretty decent album.

Lovely as always.

This crow flew down and pecked my ears pleasantly

- I have this one on CD tand like it. But then I listened to it today…it’s so much better than I remember.

Okay, I don't think I will ever revisit this album, or Sheryl Crow's music in general, but I have to admit that it was a very pleasant and cute album. Catchy tunes, nice vocal, nothing crazy, but also nothing too boring. I would think that it's a perfect example of 3.5 stars, but let's be generous this one time.

This album and Cheryl Crow was everywhere in the early 90’s. All I wanna do was a staple at the bars I frequented. Fun stuff.

Maybe it's just because I've had a lot of heavily instrumental 60's stuff lately and that it's just nice to have something more pop-y for a change, but I enjoyed this one quite a bit Standouts Leaving Las Vegas Solidify All I Wanna Do 4/5

This is pretty good. For some reason I thought Sheryl Crow sang country music so I was initially dreading this album. It was so fun though! I'd probably rate it a 4.5 but I'll round down to 4 for now.

A classic

Like the vibes and vocals Fav song - Run baby, run 4/5

Damn. I'm kind of upset that I didn't get to listen to this on a Tuesday night. Whatever. You can't always get what you want. However, I did get something that I wanted from this Sheryl Crow album. I got good music. I like this album! This is some solid stuff right here. I mean, there's a Talking Heads reference on the album's most popular song! That's a sign of peak. That song, "All I Wanna Do" is pretty great tbh. The others aren't quite as good, but I wouldn't really call any of them bad. The overall vibes are nice. This is definitely on the poppier side of albums on the list, but it's not shallow. The writing is alright. Nothing spectacular, but it is good. I like the variety on the album. The songs do a good job at feeling different from one another. I like that. Sheryl's singing is good. Everything about this album is good. Nothing is top-tier, but everything is slightly above-average. Good job Sheryl Crow! Light 4/5.

83% Best: Run, Baby, Run; Can't Cry Anymore; Solidify; All I Wanna Do Must-Hear? Sure

While I suppose many question why this album on a list like this, I enjoyed revisiting it. A terrific first album by Sheryl Crow that launched a very successful career. Some great songs including Run Baby Run, All I Wanna Do and We Do What We Can, a song with a cool jazz feel.

This could be a five but I'm trying to be reserved. I love Sheryl Crow. Beautiful and charismatic voice. She has great studio musicians. The production is light and fun. The more serious mood songs are raw and open. I'm glad I didn't miss this one.

Her voice isn’t the strongest (3), but I love this album like a 5, so here’s my compromise.

I'm torn about Sheryl Crow. I like her first bunch of albums, this one and the next in particular (the self-titled I like a lot more of the tracks). But being a fan of Kevin Gilbert, it's hard to listen to this album. Sheryl Crow claims that she wrote all of the music and lyrics, where it is clearly NOT what the other band members have said. The only reason it was put as a Sheryl Crow album is because her first album was "not releasable," so since she had a contract, it went under her name. At some point during working and releasing the album, she dumped Kevin Gilbert and went on to find her star somewhere else. And Kevin Gilbert... died. Yes, he was angry, although he tried to put it past him. But I think about what could have been, where he would be now, such a talented guy. So yeah, the album is a little tough to listen to. But if you remove all that emotional baggage, there are a number of catchy tunes on this album. Although there are a couple of tracks that are... unnecessary (looking at you "The Na Na Song). A number of the tracks do make me realize that when she had her "country" phase, that was in her style along; it's not that much of a leap. So although many people think of this as her best album, I still like the next one better. Top tracks: "Run Baby Run," "Leaving Las Vegas," "All I Wanna Do," "No One Said It Would Be Easy"

I'm a fan of the late prog musician Kevin Gilbert, who was a member of the Tuesday Night Music Club, and an excellent musician and songwriter in his own right (check out his solo album Thud, released in 1995, the year before he died). KG was dating Crow while a member of the TNMC and he's the one who invited her to join that collective of incredibly talented musicians. Every article I've read says the same: she over-claimed credit for these songs and fell out with pretty much every member of the TNMC after the album was released. So, knowing this background colors how I view this album. However, if you ignore that backstory, it's an excellent album, deserving of all its success. Outstanding songs and excellent recording quality. Her voice perfectly matches the mood of the songs. I would give it the 5 it deserves, but I'm deducting 1 star for the way she treated her co-writers. Take that, Sheryl Crow! Favorite tracks: Pretty much all the tracks are great, not just the hits.

I won't give up on you..... Polymath

60/1001 - Great voice. I like the rock instrumentation and the different genre songs like "Solidify" and "We Do What We Can." It is missing something and I'm not sure what (experimentation with different song forms, dynamics, general excitement, etc.).

Enjoyed this back in the day. Holds up. So many really good pop-rock songs.

Had only really heard the songs that made it to the radio. The deeper cuts here show quite the range. Going in thinking this was a 3 but it won me over to a 4.

Almost perfect 👍

Really decent album, deffo a vibe for today. All I wanna do is a real standout classic.

I used to work for Virgin Megastore many years ago and that song was played EVERY FUCKING MORNING when the shutters opened... Shockingly if you skip that one song this is actually an okay album

She is such an American sweetheart in her music, which makes for an easy and sometimes fun album that works fairly well. All I Wanna Do is just brilliant and I'm surprised they didn't understand that should be the single of the album. However, a lot of just forgettable songs and songs that don't hit the mark compared to how I thought it would be, with All I Wanna Do. A good pick but not exactly stepping into greatness.

Didn’t expect to live this album as much as I did.

Very VERY controversial opinion but i enjoy sheryl crow. That being said, i understand the disdain for her. When i look at her music objectively, i see it as catchy pop-rock. (if you could even call it that) Not a deep listening experience, no crazy vocals, just lighthearted, surface level pop, good background music. I’ve always thought that she’s a good mix of Gwen Stefani and Shirley Manson

An amazing number of great songs here, especially considering it's a debut album. Crow definitely hit the ground running!

Vibing

My impression of Sheryl Crow has always been that she's a decent mix of country and 90s rock. Listening properly, it's maybe more like adult contemporary with strong influences from country, pop music and classical rock. The variety on the album was a pleasant surprise. The best known songs ("Strong Enough" and "All I Wanna Do") represent the rest of the album's style well. If they're overplayed, it's definitely because they're just great songs that can stand up to the test of time. Not necessarily my usual style but it's a great collection regardless and an impressive debut.

Random thoughts: * I remember hearing "All I Want To Do" for the very first time. I don't often remember the first time I hear songs so it is notable. I remember it having a timeless feel to it because I thought it was an old song I had somehow never heard before. * I never owned this album which is pretty strange for a kid of the 90s since this was bigtime mainstream with at least 3 big hits. * Is Sheryl Crow underrated? Kinda feels like it. Not sure why but seems like she deserves more credit.

I was a huge fan of this when it came out, but it seems different than I remember it, or maybe I'm different than I was in 1993? There are some smashing songs on here that I still love, Run, Baby, Run, Leaving Las Vegas, The Na-Na Song and Strong Enough. And I even found a new favorite in What I Can Do For You. So while I'm definitely not the same person I was in 1993, this album is still as solid as it was back then.

This one surprised me for sure. One of my mom's favorites, I was a bit skeptical about needing a whole album from Sheryl Crow on here but color me impressed. It's not one of those that blew me out of the water but it's another one of those reasons why I joined the generator in the first place. And now I have something to talk with my mom about so added plus!

There is something so beautiful and kind about her soul that comes across in her music. She is out to have a good time and just wants to have some fun but in a meaningful way. Run Baby Run is a beautiful song. The only one I wasn't a huge fan of was Solidify, just felt kind of weird and out of place to me. Overall it was nice to hear a beautiful woman talking about life in a way that wasn't overally flashy or attentiony.

This is a well worn album for me. So much to love in this confident debut album from Sheryl. The huge radio hits are catchy and hold up strong still. Outside of those you have some real deep cut delights in Run Baby Run, No One Said It Would Be Easy, and especially the final one-two jazz influenced punches at the end of the album, We Do What We Can, and the absolutely gorgeous I Shall Believe.

I won’t stand for any shit-talking on my girl Sheryl. Her first three records are as solidly written, produced, and performed rock/singer-songwriter records you’ll find from any decade, let alone the 90’s. She fucks. This fucks. 4.5/5

A very good debut. Though I couldn't really pick out anything on a par with 'All I wanna Do" She is a very good artist though

I enjoyed this more than I expected too. Not as generic as I feared it would be. There's some variety with a bit of funk on Solidify, a little lounge on We Do What We Can.

Really good.

Sheryl Crow has always occupied a "better-than-average" place in pop-rock for me. I like the blend of pop, rock and country that she does, even if it's not something I'm always choosing to listen to. 3.5/5

I like a lot of Sheryl’s songs if not always her singing. But if she were a better vocalist, she’d be Fiona Apple or Norah Jones. And if she were a male, she (he?) would be Tom Petty or John Hiatt. And we already have all of those. So she fits perfectly just where she is.

Folk pop, but also country and jazz in here.

Really good. Pleasantly surprised by the variety of sounds. It's not all folk pop.

I completely forgot that I used to listen to this CD when I was younger! Memories! Raining on me! But I was like 12 (??) and it was just like, pop music or whatever, but then when this came up this morning I knew it would somehow be spiritual AND IT WAS !! My mind is kind of blown and I think I might be obsessed with Sheryl Crow now.

Good vocals, fun album

Okay, I'll admit that I rolled my eyes a little when I saw this album on the list, but this album holds up so much better than I thought it would. There's a variety of genres mixed in here while still staying true to its blues roots. The music is fun and takes you through a bunch of moods. Her voice sounds great. 4/5 This is a much better album than I remember it being. I think my perception of Sheryl Crow might have been colored by the fact that she tends to date douchebags like Eric Clapton and Lance Armstrong (no shade on you, Owen Wilson, you seem like a charming guy)

Sheryl Crow sings from her own life, in ways that anyone can relate to even if they did not have the exact same experience. “The Na-Na Song” had some great word play while bringing her bitter experience with harassment from those who have power over others. My favorite song was “We Do What We Can”. I added it to my favorites to listen to again whenever i am in a sad mood thinking of those who have passed but touched my life and what their dreams were, and of course how i wish to do what i can towards what matters to me

Very much enjoyed!

Great songwriter. This album had a lot of familiar songs and some new-to-me songs. Very different styles in each song. 4/5

I must be blessed to have this the day after Swift's 1989. This is what I expected that album to sound like. Poppy, but diverse in sound. Trendy, but also moody. There are some great songs here, like Run, Baby, Run, Solidify, and What I Can Do for You (and All I Wanna Do is a certified banger). I swear this is what people think T Swift actually sounds like.

A good album but not the very best Sheryl Crow album. Still enough for 4 stars or B+.

great album. hit after hit

Very good actually!

A little raw, but very enjoyable. I liked Leaving Las Vegas, Strong Enough, Cant Cry Anymore and All I Wanna Do. In general, the first ten songs are all pretty good. I don’t understand why they put on I Shall Believe and We Do What We Can. These were complete vibe shifts that Crows voice doesnt work as well on. 3.5 stars. Rounding up because Sheryl is hot

This album also threw me back to memories of first discovering my parents very limited CD collection in kindergarten. This album cover is absolutely seared into my mind, along with a few of the well known greatest hits albums - Seger, Eagles. My parents had incredibly simple music tastes - they were both focused on school for too many years when the great music from their generation was stirring up. My dad, heads down in med school at the time, once asked Jerry Harrison from the Talking Heads if they play a lot of shows around Milwaukee, thinking they were a local act. Despite that, he knew I was into music (or at least saw I sucked at sports) and was always interested in listening to or talking about music with me. He went way out of his way to take me to shows from a young age. First show I ever saw, in third grade, we were eating pizza together across from where the Goo Goo Dolls were playing, and he suggested we go, on a school night. He took me to a few Dave Matthews shows before I even finished grade school, later saw McCartney, more recently the Stones. I hadn’t thought about it in a long time, but seeing this album cover reminded me of that very small stack of CDs - the 90s parents canon of sorts. Makes me re-appreciate the interest he took in discovering new music along with me. As for this album and music, man I still love 90s music so much, and this album is a perfect time capsule of that era.

It’s. Favorite of mine

Possible reasons why I put off this album: -didn't feel like it -don't like Sheryl Crow -too busy Actual reason why I put off this album: - It wasn't Tuesday night I must have heard "Leaving Las Vegas" at a young age, since hearing it scratches an odd itch. I know that "All I Wanna Do" and her later single "Soak Up the Sun" were on aggressive rotation at my local radio station. Still, a delightful, easygoing folky album that balances with the darker, heavier records I've been listening to (it's almost Halloween, c'mon) the night of Tuesday, October 29

4 Stars

Sheryl Crow is my waifu

There are some absolutely great songs on this album - along with some filler. Overall it's definitely worth a listen, and was enjoyable all the way through, even the forgettable tracks.

Not bad, not bad. She's not the greatest singer, but she does well with what she has. I wouldn't mind hearing this one again.

I've always had a fond spot in my heart for this album. Full of great songs and easy to listen to, this album is very good.

actually enjoyed this, nice change to get some slower softer music

Interestingly enough, it *is* Tuesday. Tuesday Night Music Club is better than its representative singles would lead one to believe. The deep cuts are very good. I Shall Believe, for example, is very good.

questa mi piace.. un 4 ci sta tutto!

Strong enough for a 4.

secondo me spacca abbastanza

3.7 stars rounded up

Certified fun time

This is a pleasant pop album with a country/folky twang. I like Sheryl's voice on top of that so this album was just a solidly good listen. She also played at Bonnaroo when I went and, even though I didn't see her, she reminds me of that festival.

I wish more of these songs were played back in the day than just her mega hit. This was surprisingly nice.

A very much overlooked album (by me at least). This was a really enjoyable listen, and I'd forgotten just how many songs off this album I like.

If the Tuesday night music club were a real thing, I'd find a way to be there almost all the time. Sheryl Crow was already feeling like a veteran somehow when she put this record out as she juggles a variety of sounds and emotions that could pack a punch as well as her contemporaries, like-minded or otherwise, could muster. There are plenty of gems strewn across this deluxe edition, more so on the second disc which provides more of a loose and rambunctious vibe with covers of Eric Carmen and Led Zeppelin songs to match. Here is a little bit of something for everyone. Favorites: Run, Baby, Run, Leaving Las Vegas, Can't Cry Anymore, Solidify, The Na-Na Song, No One Said It Would Be Easy, All I Wanna Do, Coffee Shop, Killer Life, Essential Trip of Hereness, Reach Around Jerk, Volvo Cowgirl 99.

Very pleasant listen with some bops on it.

Great Songs.

Better than average

A couple songs were clunkers but overall like Sheryl and her music. Has a great voice and many of her songs are catchy and great. "Strong Enough" is the best song on the album though "No One Said It Would Be Easy" comes pretty close. Also, "All I Wanna Do" is probably her most popular hit. 8/10.

Un muy buen disco. Inolvidable la canción All I Wanna Do, sin duda el soundtrack de una época.

Light 4, actually the deluxe version of this album add some quality content. Otherwise, decent album

Pop com camadas de country que funcionam muito bem com a voz dela.

I like a good beer buzz early in the morning too. Have only done it maybe twice though. Wouldn't it be good if we could hop a flight to anywhere, well so long to this life. One of the best lines ever. Still remember hearing Leaving Las Vegas for the first time wondering where did this come from and who is Sheryl Crow.

I’m not usually a big fan of these country-tinged singer-songwriter albums but this was really impressive. A good balance of fun catchy tunes (with the absolute gem All I Wanna Do keeping good company) and well-written ballads. I didn’t love the production on a couple of songs but even then there were other features that really redeemed them - most notably We Do What We Can, which I didn’t love the drum sound of but took on a whole new life in the second half

honestly went into this expecting not to like but then I heard those Prince chords on "Solidify" and thought "wait a minute."

This is a great album and launched a career.

Really enjoyable album. Lots of different styles. I feel like Taylor swift is just a boring rehash of our Sheryl

Fun Rating: 3.8

Still a great album

Surprisingly good. 4.5

🎶🎶🎶 all i wanna do is have some fun 🎶🎶🎶

A great album! She's basically the female tom petty. A liberating and sometimes heartfelt album.

Lots of good songs besides All I wanna Do (which is a great song too)

I never really disliked Sheryl Crow, but at the height of her popularity, I was pretty young. In fact, when this particular album was released, I wasn't even born. So I never really had the itch to check out more than just radio singles. But you know what? I'm pleasantly surprised. This is just...nice music! My words are failing me, but I can imagine driving down a scenic road to these songs.

We all now know that there really was a Tuesday Night Music Club, which led to the album that launched Sheryl Suzanne Crow's music career. The details of how it all came together have been debated ever since. In short, Sheryl began attending informal jam and songwriting sessions at the LA studio of producer Bill Bottrell with her then-boyfriend Kevin Gilbert. Also in attendance were the incredibly talented David Baerwald and three others. Since Crow had a recording contract, their creations ended up under her name. She credited everyone involved, but there were conflicts along the way and especially afterwards when the album started hitting the stratosphere. The breakout hit that propelled the album was "All I Wanna Do," which was played on the radio daily in 1994. The lyrics, depicting getting a good beer buzz in a bar facing a car wash, were adapted from a poem by Wyn Cooper. The royalty checks from the song allowed the poet to leave his day job. The success of follow-up singles like “Leaving Las Vegas,” “Strong Enough,” and “Can’t Cry Anymore” kept the Tuesday Night Music Club in the spotlight. The album has sold approximately 10 million copies and received several well-deserved Grammy awards. As a significant debut record and a piece of pop culture, TNMC still holds up well today. It's relaxed, rootsy, and filled with melody, emotion, and insightful lyrics, making it a joy to listen to.

Schöne ruhige Musik. Teilweise etwas piepsige Stimme.

A very solid album that just doesn't blow me away. Vibe and sound seem similar across it to me. Fun listen at least!

Day 13 of listening to 1001 albums, one day at a time. Sheryl Crow was not someone I expected to come up on this list but I am glad she did. The album feels like a jukebox of sorts really highlighting Sheryl talents and it’s really interesting to hear that in her first album. The writing on the songs is pretty stellar, from talking about her being caught in an era of a republican president and liberal parents. To the writing on The Na-Na Song, then What Can I Do For You. While I don’t think this album is perfect it’s still got some great hits through and through and make it a great album to give a listen.

This is not my favorite Sheryl Crow album…in fact, it might be number 4 or 5 on my list. Her self titled album, Cmon, Cmon, Wildflower, The Globe Sessions. This is what put her on the map and I get why it made it to the list. It’s just disappointing that maybe her 4th best album is what people get to listen to. It is still pretty darn good and is a very good listen. And the popular songs are great! It’s also very bluesy…and that set the tone for all of the rest of her albums. Make sure you listen to some of her other early music. you won’t be disappointed.

It's an upbeat and somber album at the same time. Strong enough really reminds me of Landslide. Maybe that's just me. Really strong album. Better than Live/Dead.

Solid album, good songs, 4 stars.
