This album, and in particular the singles, was ubiquitous in my formative years. It has aged unbelievably well for what was seen as somewhat of a kitsch project. Justin Hawkins is also famously one of the nicest men in rock, plaudits for that alone.
The singles still sound fine, the production isn’t varied or interesting enough to have aged this album particularly well though.
There are better nu-metal albums. There is even a better Korn album. Nothing here has the raw immediacy of, for example, Ball Tongue. The bass playing is exceptional. Everything else oscillates wildly between being neutered to facilitate airplay (the guitars and production) or being grossly offensive (the infantile lyrics and vocal delivery).
