Britpop at its most pretentious and mind-numbingly dry. If nasal whisper-singing and repetitive albeit poetic intellectual pop is your thing then this is it. The antithesis of old school, steamy soul, I suppose. In one word: boring.

Non melodic, mechanical, loud, irratic. Thrash metal, in short.
Britpop at its most pretentious and mind-numbingly dry. If nasal whisper-singing and repetitive albeit poetic intellectual pop is your thing then this is it. The antithesis of old school, steamy soul, I suppose. In one word: boring.
This is of course very good, and perhaps the sexiest music there is. Then again, it is music for dancing and feeling rather than simply listning. The busy and astoundingly competent rythm section is fascination yet I can't help but feel that the intense (and likewise competent) trumpets are digging a hole in my soul. A whole album in one go takes its toll....
When listening to this all I could think of was what I would rather listen to. That can't be good...
Want to hate it. I really can't. Damn it, it's actually really good.
This, for me, is like watching a Kurosawa movie in original Japanese. I realize it is brilliant, I recognize the pure genious of the art but I can't understand it. I wish I could since this is probably some of the greatest music ever made. That said, even though I feel I can't truly appreciate what I am listning to, it puts me in a mood and I find it pulls me back in. How awesome is that?
To me, this is the kind of music you might hear from the speakers in a parking garage or at a small town mall. Completely unremarkable.
Limp Bizkit = poop
