Girl I only liked the instrumentals.

There is a type of musician who shows they know how to make music. Their instrumentation is amazing and their singing voice is great. But for some reason instead of making great music they try to drown it in weird song titles, "I'm so clever look at me I made my voice sound like a seal just because its cReAtIvE", and add out of place sound effects for some reason. Look I get why people like this stuff but it really would have been much more enjoyable to me if the lyrical work had been cut out all together. 4/5 for instrumentation 0/5 vocal choices (the vocal work itself? It was aight)

I don't know who Brian Eno is or what he's trying to achieve here. I don't know what he's talking about when he says "Here Come the Warm Jets" but it scares me.

Liked Roxy Music. Do not care much for this album.

Good enough for what it was, but he's still fumbling, looking for his own identity. The Roxy sound was never something I fully embraced. Too twee compared to other glam bands of the era. So there's that.

Brian Eno's tribute to The Beatles

I like concept albums but this idea didn’t pay off.

the horror

dimenticabile direi

If you aren’t paying close attention a lot of it just sounds like noise.. I couldn’t get down with most of it.

Sounds like the soundtrack to a Kubrick movie. I’m not sure if this is weird/brilliant or just weird/dumb. I few like if I listened to it 4 or 5 times through I might end up loving it or thinking it sucks so I’ll split the difference for now. 2.4

A little too quirky and eccentric for me, but there are some hidden gems on this record. Aside from that, there’s nothing else here of value.

Didn't really connect with this one at all. Two plus stars for me for this.

Not my favorite

Album #19 The screeching of the electric guitar on some of the tracks really were annoying and some of the songs sounded like Ziggy Stardust. The album really did not appeal to me.

I suppose it's worth listening to the debut album by someone as influential as Brian Eno, though it's not like he hadn't released music before (as part of Roxy Music.) As an album, independent of any historical value, it's good but not great. I would give it 5 out of 10, so 2.5 stars, and I'm going to round down. Sorry, Brian. 2 stars

Weird and challenging. Not sure I am on board with this.. maybe with some more listens but I feel like it'd need a lot of listens. Note to self to give it another go but for now I don't like it that much

Can’t say I ever heard any of the songs on this album. Seems Brian Evo’s name popped up at some point but not a fan of his music.

One or two songs I'd listen to again but some just sound like someone is pressing random keys on a keyboard.

A bit weird

Esperava mais, apareceu-me apenas um pop bem produzido.

Didn't get much from this other than finding it mildly irritating. I prefer the ambient Eno.

weird psychadelic and electronic music.

Not for me.

- No standouts

I hope I'm not crazy in saying that this didn't feel like a typical Eno album with all the lyrics involved. And maybe it's because we have had a bunch of Eno albums but I think we could have done without this one. I'm reading also that this was his debut? So that's pretty cool that he got better over time.

I wasn't able to pick a good song on this album. It has a vibe and I know it certainly has its fans, but not for me.

Ikke min type musikk. Men artig å ha hørt. Kanskje.

I quite liked some of the earlier tracks but overall, it was too out there for me. Couldn't tell if I would appreciate it more after more listens. Not sure I'm willing to give it the chance.

appreciate the experimental nature but its just tough to listen to a whole album

Yes, Brian Eno is a legendary producer, but this album was incredibly boring.

Listened Before? N Weird stuff. The "magic" of the 70s I guess. Anyway, I remember him but I don't remember the music. Meh. On Some Faraway Beach has a beautiful melody, not sure what else to say. Added to Library: N Songs added to playlist: On Some Faraway Beach

Cool moments but not for me. 2/5

Why does the ending to 'On Some Faraway Beach' sound like an annoying kid playing a keyboard they found in the other kid's room at the party their parents took them to?

Was an ok listen, didn’t really think much of it. Songs were definitely different from usual, but I really don’t like the “silly male British singer” vibe. For example “driving me backwards”, it’s almost deliberately shit singing Best was “here come the jets”

Can see why he is influential but I just thought a lot of it sounded weird (not in a good way)

Great Album

Eno is Eno. Weird for the sake of weird, occasionally alright but mostly something to skip over quickly. Baby's On Fire has some cool guitar noodling but nothing that hasn't been done before or since.

Think this is our second Eno solo effort? Not as interesting as the previous one imo, no real stand out catchy tracks, but a lot of the same irritations in that it seems to be trying to be too clever without much depth to it. 2/5.

Bit boring. Trying too hard to be edgy. Can’t really sing. Not my vibe.

Another 70s sounding band. Less rock and a bit more techno/funk. Overall the vocals and unique sounds were intriguing.

Some Brian Eno I like, an some I can't get my head to love. This one is tough for me. It never kept my attention.

I much prefer Eno's ambient works. 2 stars for creativity but I did not find it that much of an enjoyable listen.

Not the Brian eno that I was expecting from the last one. Not bad, but not great.

It's Brian Eno, this time with attitude!

The last track is decent but I was also probably excited for this to be over. A lot of crap inserted into the tracks - Eno does what he does.

His stuff is weird but this was not as bad as some of the other more boring stuff.

I'm starting to think that Eno outside of his Roxy Music days isn't really my thing.

It's becoming abundantly clear that I'm not a fan of Brian Eno.

Very... eccentric sounding...

This was strange in a way that didn’t really connect with me. I respect the artistry but I don’t think I’d choose to listen to it again.

lot of respect for this album, lot of intriguing sequences, but it seemed like most songs had one or two parts that were grating or were too inconsistent. overall did not click but certainly some great ideas here

This was a little bonkers. The production is all over the place, as you'd expect. There wasn't much in the way of songs to anchor it all down though. More of an experiment for what was possible than a body of work.

the one thing worse than an album that is not fun to listen to, is one that is so utterly unremarkable. i can say a lot about "here comes the warm jets", but i do not believe that i could call it unremarkable. strange, eyebrow raising, and bemusing certainly. not fit for easy listening, absolutely! but not unremarkable. never unremarkable.

Not one of his good ones. Very Drone-y

I didn't think this album was going to be so bad after listening to "Needles in the Camel's Eye", and then it got too experimental for my tastes.

I found it a bit of a trial. It’s Eno, so I wanted to enjoy it, but it was mostly too experimental and psychedelic.

...Brian Eno...again...

It wasn't as bad as previous Brian Eno but I still don't do enough drugs to enjoy this.

Usually like the Eno albums on this list, but this one didn't hit for me. Might've been as I was expecting another ambient album.

An exercise in cacophony, I listen to music to enjoy my time, this just made me feel anger for the most part, overly indulgent to the artsy whims of the Riff Raff look-a-like competition champion 1974. The pulsating throbbing of my near aneurism is what I'll remember and I'll be pre warned if I'm unfortunate enough to listen to another of his albums I can only imagine he gets erect at the sound of the droning tones of a vuvuzela.

Avantgarde pop rock, spændende nok, lidt skørt

Didnt know a big lot of Brian Eno, thought he was just a producer, never knew he was a founder member of Roxy Music, let alone know he had solo albums. I really.dont like his personal singing or vocal narrative, a real switch off for me, obviously why Bryan Ferry did lead vocals for Roxy. Some of the tracks were OK, albeit very bland, with a bit of earlier Roxy Music feel. I guess I'm just not into his solo stuff and defo won't listen to this album again, but I've heard worse.

Not what I was expecting at all! I prefer his ambient, electronic productions. Some of the tracks on this album are ok and remind me of very early Pink Floyd, but alot of this album I wouldn't listen to again.

Not really a fan. Prefer his work with Genesis or his later albums.

Ahhh, some more Brian Eno. Let me get my best 2/5 ready. Ok it's different to the airport music album. But still really experimental and annoying. I was gonna give it a 3 after the first two songs, but it really dialled up the dog shit from that point on. 2/5 after all!

This is the same Eno I reviewed before with the ambient album? I didn't like this much, but it's a whole other thing and very rock/pop oriented.

Man those vocals... some interesting things but overall did not work for me.

I'm a fan of Eno's ambient albums and some of his work producing for bands. This album has some pretty cool /unique ideas and sounds. But i'm not really a fan of his voice. It ends up sounding a bit like a disjointed Roxy Music

Did not kick off like I expected, I dig the first song (Needles in the Camel's Eye) Uh, the second one (PawPaw Negro Blowtorch) gets weird but I like the instrumental breakdown and pretty much all the parts where he isn't singing. Baby's On Fire - Wow, this gets dark quick. Driving Me Backwards - Again, like all the parts where he isn't singing. Like the droning background and guitar effects. On Some Faraway Beach - The piano chord progression reminds me of Bob Seeger - Still The Same Black Frank - Not gonna lie, thought this was They Might Be Giants at first. Dead Finks Don't Talk - Oh no. Some of Them Are Old - Sounds like we are hitting a Pink Floyd end of album crescendo. Here Come The Warm Jets - nice close out. 2/5 on my "Will I listen to it again" scale. I can definitely see it's influence though.

Yeah... I am not connecting to this at all. I usually like weird voices but this was grating. I liked the beep boop part of the second song and most of "On Some Faraway Beach" but was not a fan of the rest.

Hmm, I'm not sure to make of it so far! Funny noises, sure, why not. There are no vocals on \"On Some Faraway Beach\" and it's the best song so far. Oh wait, there are, oh well. The piano playing is nice, though. Not really blown away by this one. I liked the quiet ambient parts and I like the noisy loud freak out parts, the bits in between were alright. 2 / 5 stars.

Try-hard-with-a-vengeance-glam-rock. It's bland and fails to engage me in any way. However, it's not horrible, but that is all the positivity I can muster for this album. Try harder. 2/5

I tried twice and i just couldn't get into it.

Need to be in the mood for it

I am most familiar with Brian Eno from his frequent appearances as a crossword answer. His musical endeavors are certainly... sonic. I think every single track gave me a migraine. I can acknowledge that there is some skill here and I know that he is a respected producer, but I will never willingly listen to this again. Standout tracks: Baby's On Fire, On Some Faraway Beach

Damn, there is so much Eno on this list. He is a multifaceted and prolific artist, there’s no denying that. I hate to say it but I’m just not big on his solo stuff. Roxy Music is cool, and I love his work producing for the Smiths and Morrissey. Warm jets? More like tepid jets at best.

Jesus, no. On Christmas Eve no less.

Too experimental. Did not enjoy this

Alright pop rock that gets experimental. I will probably not listen to this again.

This album keeps oscillating between mildly interesting and aggravatingly annoying.

alkoi hyvin, b-puolta kohti menee liikaa fiilistelyksi. ensin positiivinen yllätys, sitten kuitenkin vähän plaah - jotenkin sellainen olo, että puuttuu jokin mikä David Bowiella on

I can see why a lot of people could really like this album, I enjoyed a couple of things but in the end I found it way too experimental for my taste, which is weird because I tend to like albums or songs where there is some amount of experimentation. Nevertheless I likes the raw sort of punky "raw" quality of is production, but nothing much

Bit repetitive

Fav songs: - Baby's on Fire - Some Of Them Are Old

Not his greatest work, a lot of very interesting concepts but the way they’re all put together feels forced and not very cohesive.

I enjoyed recognizing how Eno has influenced lots of other artists down the line. I'd been rewatching Sex Education, and it felt like some of Ezra Furman's stuff took inspiration. But I wasn't really hooked by most of the actual stuff on the album. Might need to relisten at some point.

Absolute garbage-tier electronic music. It makes my ears hurt

Thought this guy was supposed to be an iconic producer. This sounds awful. Some fun lyrics though

Weird production style

On some faraway beach Needles in the Camel’s eye Dead Finks Don’t Talk

Best Song: Blank Frank. Here Come The Warm Jets. Consistent, inundating groove. Why wasn't this the album? Worst Song: Driving Me Backwards. The effect placed on the vocal track makes it sound like a group of drunk friends is trying to sing a song together, but the knowledge of the lyrics is split evenly amongst the group so they all just try to sing what the others sing. Overall: Pretty obnoxious, apart from the title track. Some of the tracks (looking at you Blank Frank) seem designed to annoy.

It's... fine? Not too interesting, quite frankly. I don't remember anything about it, and I listened to it maybe four hours ago? Strange how that works.

I didn't enjoy this

Favourite track(s): Cindy Tells Me; Here Come The Warm Jets Why does the majority of the tracks try its best to sound so off-tune, off-rhythm, off-turning? It sounds like an album where the artist had too much creative control, at times going completely off whack. Don't like most tracks, few silver linings here and there but that is it.

it seems like Brian Eno was one of those people who in the right place at the right time, making an album that has a very experimental sound to it across the whole album. Reading the Wiki article and how Eno got people together who he thought wouldn’t be compatible, it explains why I find so much of the music here jarring and hard to really get into.

The album is eccentric and not memorable. No need to revisit. It is only 40 minutes long but it goes on too long. It doesn't accomplish anything. It is better than a one but not really a 2. I will round up.

Bunch of annoying songs. Dead finks don't think is somewhat nice, but then it ends in a bunch of noise

I enjoyed some musical elements here and there, but overall this album just isn't for me. I get the impression this album - among many others in the genre - are simply trying to be weird for the sake of being weird. I assume fans would object to this, but the song titles, the artwork, the musical arrangements are just...strange. To each their own.

Started well, but then got progressively weirder to the point of being turned off.

It isn't the kind of music I like.

Good Solo album. I see the importance of adding this to the list perhaps for the innovative sound for 1973. Not sure if it needs to be on the list though.

discordant, jangly, whiny. This era of experimental/glam/art music has never really done it for me.

It's on okay album, nothings really pulled my attention.

Interesting, but not great

I wish I'd stop getting Brian Eno albums on this list. This is the third one now and I'm never going to rate them highly!

Interesting album and lyrics. Strange 70’s rock with some interesting lyrics

Kind of weird and funky but also kind of boring. I can't say anything grabbed me.

The odd interesting groove but on balance there’s more annoying nonsense on here than good music.

Not really a big fan. There might have been like one or two songs that I sort of liked. Before and After Science was a much better album.

The album started off okay, after that it got to weird for me. Favourite song: - Needles in the camel’s eye

Wacky ENO ! It was alright, mostly, but I’m not a fan so only 2* I think

This isn’t a genre I’m a huge fan of and listening to this album doesn’t really change that. It’s fine but washes over me a bit without being particularly memorable. I like some of the Bowie albums from this era (but not all) so again just not to my taste

This was fine. Vocals are horrific though.

Not my favorite of his. Lot of interesting ideas, but too chaotic for me.

I didn’t really know what to think about this one. It didn’t like it or dislike it really. I was rather indifferent to it. I feel like I’d here this if I was sitting in a hipster bar and as long as the volume wasn’t about like 4 and I could still converse with my friends (fully vaccinated of course), then it’d be cool. I wouldn’t seek it, but I wouldn’t hijack the jukebox to change it either. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Very interesting.. 3 Some are just pretty bad. 2

Didn’t know anything off this one either. It was alright

So - so

I can definitely hear the inspiration for the beetles’ later albums in this album. The music alright. Could’ve been better if it wasn’t so noisy some times.

Love the opener. Rest, not at all.

Glam but with a heavy dose of experimentation. A little up-its-own-butt throughout the majority of the record. When it focuses on writing a good pop tune, it nails it. It just doesn't focus that often. Favorite tracks: "The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch", "Blank Frank"

Eno vocals are the worst.

It was okay, nothing all too exciting or memorable

Just couldn't get into it

Always a fan of alternative rock.

Extremely weird album. I liked the wonky Paw Paw Blowtorch song because it was just so whacky. There was another good track on it but the last one (or the one before that) was so egregiously awful that I had to give up. The last song definitely soured my opinion on that album. Won't ever listen to again, I'm afraid. Also, obligatory never heard of that guy.

super whiny. if it's not Apollo, I don't want it.

And here I am again, confessing my ignorance of yet another larger-than-life name in latter-half 20th-century popular music. Brian Eno's name has been present in my mind for probably 35 years, and yet I don't recall ever consciously listening to his work. I've heard some collaborations of his, vaguely, and know he's widely admired by all sorts of music folk like critics, fans, and fellow musicians. I do know his reputation for constantly reinventing himself, and even though this is the only album of his I've ever listened to, I can hear that even within the ten tracks on this work. I can also imagine that for its time (1974), it pushed some boundaries, which is always healthy for any artform, or society in general. I might give this another listen some time because there definitely are layers I'm sure I missed the first time through, but I don't much like it. It's not something I am psyched to listen to regularly, at least that's not how it feels to me right now. Might be suffering a bit from how I've heard a lot of other music from around that time (as well as before it and after it) that was fairly similar, and it's never quite grabbed me. Sometimes feels like it's being, I don't know, "avante garde" or odd for its own sake, or trying to be funny but it doesn't make me laugh, but that's a bit silly of me because I have no idea what Brian Eno or his fellow performers on this album were thinking or feeling.

A little too abstract for my taste.

One song I liked. I think a lot of this is too experimental for me so far but maybe I'll get used to it

Very different to the ambient stuff by Eno I've listened to previously. It had some ok moments but I struggled to get into it.

Not for me. Doesn't offend my ears but I'd definitely skip these if they came on

not bad

Really liked some tracks - others were more of a struggle. Very Bowie/Roxy Music sounding

Paw paw negro blowtorch?

My life in the bush of ghostsilla. Ei kuitenkaan mitään hittibiisejä tai muutenkaan sellaista yleistunnelmaa, mikä erityisesti kannustaisi kuuntelemaan levyä enempää.

Seems to get lost trying to cram in a many weird sounds as possible

Fine listen, but not essential for my taste.

not my jam

Tekotaiteellista outoilua ilman punaista lankaa on tämäkin. Kertakuuntelu riitti mielipiteen muodostamiseen.

eh, the middle was pretty good

Don’t really like this genre of music.

Not a fan

Brian eno? More like Brian shit

expected a solo album from a self-proclaimed "non-musician" producer to perhaps include interesting collaborations and subdued vocals. Mostly, though, it's nonsense sung loudly and poorly over repetitive and uncreative instrumentation. There were three tracks that I (mostly) liked, and two of them had weird tags. On Some Faraway Beach ends abruptly with what sounds like somebody taking a piano lesson, and Some Of Them Are Old fades away into 30 full seconds of wind chimes. Less than the sum of its parts. Best track: Here Come The Warm Jets

Never been a fan of Enos

Vähän meni ohi eikä jäänyt mitään erikoisesti mieleen

The songs reminds me of David Bowie and The Rocky Horror Picture Show songs but way worse. I like the ambient/instrumental music that Brian Eno made in Apollo for example.

Wieder mal absoluter Dreck

Didn’t enjoy this at all. Some songs had the basics of good tracks but were ruined by weird lyrics or odd layers of syncopated drums. Couldn’t get into it

Couldn't finish it

No. No. Yucky.

too goofy and dont like the voice

An ok album

I enjoyed Needles in the Camel’s eye, but things quickly declined from there. Dead Finks Don’t Talk is possibly the lowest point (not cheeky cheeky just crap).

freaky ass album did not enjoy this at all

Pretty annoying songs. I don't know... I find this kind of music not good.

wtf. he has other good stuff

Full album was not on Spotify in 2026? The few songs I heard didn't make me want to investigate any further. Hard pass.

Meh, never heard of him, Meh

UK slop

All of these songs start off okay then devolve into complete nonsense.

Etwas zu experimentell für mich

Reading about Brian Eno makes it sound like he’s interesting and groundbreaking. Then you listen and it's this kind of nonsense.

Loved Brian Eno with U2, but god this stuff is AWFUL

2026.01.21.

Oof. This was rough on the ears.

I'm a pleb what can I say but yuck.

Ničím ma to nezaujalo. To čo vydal neskôr, bolo pre mňa oveľa zaujímavejšie.

This was so bad. I couldn’t wait to finish

I don’t like it

The Beatles with a head injury

These sounds in the 2nd song.....i hate that and these "oh nos"on track 8 stop it! i was glad when this was over experimental you say? mental maybe yeah but the experiment failed on me

I get this is like David Bowie or Talking Heads but it's also not fun to listen to

Not my favorite sound but different.

This music may be amazing for loads of people, it just isn't for me. It might be my fault, but I just hear a lot of noise that doesn't make any sense. 1/5

I don’t like the voice the musics cool tho

Not my thing.

I am still strugling to understand why Eno is considered such a force in the music world. First off, Here Come the Warm Jets 'sounds' terrible; thin, tinny, with endless strange mixing and recording decisions that were clearly deliberate, but inscrutible. I also get a very 'weird for the sake of being weird' vibe, rather than being convinced that the music was made in response to some true avant-garde or psychedelic impulse. Folks like Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, and countless other 'weird' artists had been around for years at this point; it's tricky to figure out what new is being brought to the table. Not the sort of thing I'll return to any time soon.

Might as well put a 2 year old on the keys

Feels like I'm being pranked. Occasional moments of genuinely great instrumental music, but 80% extremely overstimulating synths and terrible vocals. Feels like quintessential cringe dad music that he only plays while sanding stuff in the garage. (What is he sanding? Is it the same piece of wood over and over again? God, why the fuck does he listen to this?)

A quirky, experimental blend of glam rock and art pop, built on jagged guitars, eccentric arrangements, and playful, unpredictable vocals that create a chaotic atmosphere.

C’mon. What is this doing here?

Very disappointed by this album. Felt like a very generic art rock album with a lot of strange and at times audibly grating music choices that made this a very hard listen. Maybe there's something to appreciate more with time, but leaves a very poor first impression

Brian, just stop. I know drugs can be fun, but ideas you have while doing them aren’t always as great as they seem sober. An example of this is Here Come The Warm Jets. There are some good ideas of songs here but you ruined them. Pity.

This to me is just boring, meaningless garbage. 1 star or F.

korvat irti päästä...

A bit too all over the place, I would describe this more as noise than music.

Album is weird. Some experiments should never run. Sounds like a yowling cat. Horrendous.

Knowing Brian Eno and the insanely positive contribution he made to music history, I had really high hopes for this. Brian Eno perfected 70's new wave. And with an intro song like Needle's In The Camel's Eye, I was feeling good about this one! Notice how I was typing in past tense there? Because the rest of this album is dogshit. I am actually in disbelief this is the same guy that produced the greatest albums of the greatest artists of the 70's; Talking Heads, DEVO, David Bowie. Really? This is what we are served up? Anyways, because I'm going to cop shit from my fart sniffing "mate(s)" who worship Eno, here's my track by track review: Paw Paw is alright. Baby's On Fire is dull as dogshit. The guitar solo was cool but the weird shrill voice did my head in. Cindy Tells Me more Cindy Tells Me like how to make an average ass English 70's rock song, but instead of hooking your guitar up to an amplifier, you instead plug it into a an enormous hive of wasps and occasionally rape my ears with an extremely loud buzzing noise. Driving Me Backwards - WOA-A-AOAHA-WOAOAHOAOAOAOAOAOAHAOHAOHAOHAAA ITS LIKE MEEEEEEEEEÊÊÊÊÊÊÊ gotta be CRAAAAYYAZAA WOAOAOWOA OAOAOAO WAOAOA OAOOA OAO AOAOAOAHAOAO OO OO O O O -- Utter dribble coming from this blokes mouth. I had to skip this on my second listen. Sounds like someone gave an iPad with Garageband piano presets to a Year 9 special ed kid. On Some Faraway Beach was nice. That's about all. Blank Frank was just more layered annoying noises with some derelict cunt tapping his adam's apple while he sings nonsensical shit. Why did Eno think squeezing a rubber chicken during Dead Finks Don't Talk would make for an interesting listen? It was dreadful. cheeky cheeky naughty sneaky OH NO OH NO OH NO. What is with this guy and just ramming random noises onto a song and thinking it's good music? Anyways I've had enough, not going to bother writing a synopsis of the last two songs, this dribble annoyed me too much. I'm not sure why Brian Eno's production quality seems to stop when he's making his own music. I guess you're either a good artist or a good producer. All of these songs just felt like a clown trying to make pop rock. Random noises and honks & whistles sprawled about like a retard having a mental fit on the floor. What was this guy on when he was making this? I feel like people only like this record because they want to suck Eno off for his production work. His talents with production and talents as an artist are not relative. Fuck this load of shit.

Nothing needs to be said.

Another one that has to many weird sounds that don't fit in for me. Not something I enjoyed listening to, even just to have listened once like some other albums.

Strange noises and vocals, droning, noise to my ears.

What is this? I heard this album was pretty divisive. First song, Needles In The Came's Eye, I was like this isn't that bad, it's mostly just background music. Then the rest of the album just devolved into annoying music and noise. Especially Dead Finks Don't Talk, the music just cuts to some weird shrilly noise and then goes back. Best song: Needles In The Camel's Eye

Noise.

Wow, holy trebble on the intro there, Batman. Certainly not a fast way to my heart. Second song is just goofy--the computer buzz solo sounds like a discount knock-off of Daft Punk. Baby's On Fire, slightly less dumb, but still dumb. Driving Me Backwards.... skipped halfway through. On Some Faraway beach is the first tolerable song. Then a bunch more skips basically. This was the first album I was struggling to even finish. And the first 1-star I've given out.

Lightweight, all over the place with thin vocals. "Needles in the Camel's Eye" is an okay pop song, the rest is an uneven mix of bouncy and spacy.

Interesting at some parts, most of it was crap, next

I have only noticed Eno as a producer yet and appreciated his work a lot. But I got quite disappointed by this one. His vocals are often annoying and even the music sucks here and then. ("Driving Me Backwards", "Dead Finks Don't Talk"...) 1,5

Not for me at all, did not really enjoy this much to be honest.

This was one bit of this that sounded like a goose

If there were only 1,002 albums in existence I’m not sure this would be in the top 1,001 must listen to albums.

Incomplete noise

Listened to the first few tracks and they were just noise, don’t like Eno anyway so just listened to Hail To The Thief instead

i recently watched this movie “High Fidelity” about a record shop owner, not the point but, these teens in the movie stuffed Brian Eno records up their shirts and ran away with them and at that time and to this day, I just always wonder: who the fuck is stealing a Brian Eno record. not surprising in the least. It was terrible. Got a little sad knowing I went from Lauryn Hill & Bruce Springsteen to Brian Eno but for every good, there’s 5 bad on this site. Good luck to whoever gets this next

I wonder if this is just a random sequencing, but dang SO MUCH 70's brit punk and post-punk. I feel like I may rate them higher if there wasn't so much of it. This is just amateur guitar (twang twang twang twang) banging on a couple of chords with Bowie-wannabe vocals.

hmm, tough one. Need to have a few listens more. Love the artwork though.

1. needlez - 1.5 2. pauu pauu - 0 3. fire - 1.5 4 cindy - 1 5. drving me - 1 6. beach - 1 7. frank - 0 8. dead - 1 9. old - 1.5 10. jetz - 1.5

Well, Eno is now a controversial artist. I usually like him but this one was a "did not finish". The cicada sounding guitar (?) on Cindy Tells Me did me in. I'll listen to his later ambient stuff.

The unusual/experimental stuff is cute, but I really don't think it adds anything worthwhile to the album. There's some moments that are okay, but otherwise it's pretty bad.

The first half of the this album felt slightly generic but like a solid rock album of its time. Then Driving Me Backwards came on and ruined the album. Just a bad song that ushered in an over usage of distortion on the second half of the album. Blank Frank was another bad song. The majority of this album was forgettable with the remainder being bad.

So bad; couldn't finish it. 1/5

Brian is a great composer. Unfortunately, he's a garbage songwriter and an even more garbage vocalist. It was terrible from start to end.

Why the fuck is this guy a thing?

Nein danke 1 stern

What a weird album. Totally not my vibe. I guess it's novel but I honestly didn't enjoy this one .

The BPM identifies as rock, some tunes remind me of the Beatles' Revolution 9 of the 68' White Album, some other tunes shows psychodelic experiments with effect devices or funny substances (or both). No idea, why in the 1001 list

weird.

That was ass

Not my cuppa tea

5 albums for this guy is a little too much

Eh. Not great

Lost me on the second song tmwith the bleeps and bloops. Zero stars, fuck off Brian Eno.

What the actual fuck is this garbage. No song structure, no tone awareness to the vocals. Just a fucking moron beating on a keyboard and guitars and calling it music. Eno was a hugely experimental fella, but some things just shouldn't be experimented with; such as musical talent (which there is none of on this dumpster fire of a record). Making odd screeching noises isn't making music, it's fucking annoying. Eno couldn't sing himself out of a plastic bag. Lyrics are complete nonsense. The chorus of Cindy Tells Me sounds like cicadas flying past my head ffs. Most of the tones and notes that Eno gravitates to on this album may be "new notes and tones that haven't been played before", but they're new for a reason. Because hearing those notes is like hearing nails on a fucking chalkboard. Overall, a fucking horrible album. Absolutely no redeeming qualities. When I saw that it was an Eno album, I knew it would suck, and boy was I right. What the fuck did this influence? Nothing. More horrible music that hipsters, and critics can't bring themselves to say is terrible, so they continue to pretend that it's this amazingly deep album, but it's not. It's shit. Favourite songs: Cindy Tells Me (I guess...the closest thing to an actual fucking song on this piece of shit album) Least favourite songs: Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch, Needles in the Camel's Eye, Baby's On Fire, Driving Me Backwards (sounds like it's played backwards...), Blank Frank, Dead Finks Don't Talk (looped Oh No's..... Just.... Why?!?), Some of Them Are Old (sounds like a 2 year old loose in a room with a keyboard), Here Come the Warm Jets (only good thing about this song, is that after you suffer through it, the album is done, thank Christ) 1/5.... Fuck this heap of shit. This brought me physical pain to listen to.

Sounds a bit weird sometimes, instrumental definitely better than vocal

Wasn't much to my liking

Once you’ve heard one Brian Eno album you’ve heard them all. It’s bland and weird, not pleasing. I’d be better off on shrooms listening to this (and maybe that’s the point?).

This is just garbage noises

What a load of tripe.

Fraquíssimo, não revisitar.

khhhhhh

In één woord: schel.

Just a bit shit

The sound of this record is immediately unenjoyable. About halfway through "Cindy Loves Me" I was finally thinking to myself, for the first time (on the 4th track), that this was actually kind of a pleasant song. Then that swarm-of-cicadas sound came in and just completely took over. That proved to be the high point of the album. Being weird for the sake of being weird is at least interesting, but there's a very high bar to make it work. This falls well short. Most of it is unlistenable noise. That which is not is largely pretty by-the-numbers New Wave garage rock.

This is NOT ambient music. But what are you getting with "Warm Jets?" Warm, not hot. We're not going full hot tub here. This is just a bathtub with jacuzzi nozzles. You get in, and turn the jets on, and they "Needle" you with their propulsive power. But then you shift a bit and now the jets are hitting you right in the "Paw Paws" and you can't stop giggling. You don't mean to giggle, but it's just so damn ridiculous sitting there in the warm jets. And then it just gets weirder from there. You start to think about this tub full of warm jets. Who else has been in this tub? What strange diseases have been passed around to make the unnatural sounds you are hearing gurgling up from below? For a moment there's hope. Cindy gets in the tub. "Oh, here's a cute, normal lady," you say. But then it turns out she's actually a cicada, I think? Well there's no place for that in the warm tub. Cicada Cindy gets out of the tub, but she must have broken something, because all of a sudden the jets have no juice and everything is sluggish and not-so-warm, as if the jets are firing backwards. You try to ignore it and relax and pretend you're on a faraway beach, but then some crazy loud plumber named Frank barges in and breaks the tub, possibly for good. Can't see it working after this. This is NOT ambient music. Though I almost kinda sorta wish it was.

Punishing.

not for me

It's like putting spoons in a blender and hitting the "Puree" button.

I have now spent 42 minutes with Brian Eno, and I have learned nothing. I've heard the name a lot over the years, and I always got the sense that his was a name you dropped if you were about to say, "you probably don't GET it." Well, I don't.

I got to 'driving me backwards' and turned it off. he might be influential, but this is ABSOLUTE SHIT.

Roxy music in disguise

not my thing

I listen to most of this, but I just couldn't finish it. It's not my thing, but maybe it's someone's...

Dated, not much going on

Just alot of experimental music it sounds like. Don't really care for it. 2/10.

Leeeento

Get this guy out of here

- yeah this is cool - where did music for airports come from - halfway through its more okay than cool - song 7: this could be over I think, i'm zoned out -skipped through the last 3, last one sounds ok - imagine how much better this list would have been if it was limited to 1 album per artist

Baby's on Fire- Fist song we get to that sounds ok Finished the album. I don't get it. What is so great about this?
