Björk
3/5
Fine enough I guess. But unless there are four (4??) Björk albums in this list, this should’ve been “Post” instead. It’s significantly more important to her sound imo, and is just a better album/listening experience. Listen to “Post”, please.

Billy Bragg
4/5
Won’t go out of my way to listen again, but this was a pleasant surprise! Liked the Wilco tracks more than Bragg’s, but pretty good overall
Talking Heads
4/5
Not my favorite of theirs, but a really solid debut. Can see inklings of where they’ll be going with the later albums. 4.5
Leonard Cohen
4/5
The Young Gods
1/5
*some* of the music here is interesting, but man, those vocals are shit. couldn’t make it through more than a minute of each song, usually only like 10 seconds lol

X-Ray Spex
4/5
Björk
3/5
Fine enough I guess. But unless there are four (4??) Björk albums in this list, this should’ve been “Post” instead. It’s significantly more important to her sound imo, and is just a better album/listening experience. Listen to “Post”, please.
Miles Davis
5/5
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
3/5
A few good songs here, but his vocals on the middle tracks are…not great. 3.5

2.5, fun but lacking substance
Linkin Park
4/5
Objectively, I shouldn’t like this. Nu-metal is SO of its time, and this is way overproduced. Early 2000s rock was in a really rough place, and it still hasn’t really recovered, in part due to how popular this and other bands were.
However…Crawling, In The End, Papercut, One Step Closer, all bangers. This rules
Lou Reed
3/5
Goldfrapp
4/5
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
2/5

This album is very important to me, so it’s impossible to rate below a 5. I do have critiques (it’s over-long, and slow at times) but the feelings it makes…all timer
Laura Nyro
3/5
Orange Juice
4/5
Sigur Rós
4/5
I don’t think I’ll ever really be a fan of post-rock, but this and Talk Talk’s “Spirit of Eden” have taught me to seriously respect the genre.
There is clear talent and attention to detail focused in on creating a…texture? vibe?
Fascinating stuff

The Beach Boys

I’ve listened to Pet Sounds quite a few times over the past…10 years or so? Keep trying to find what other people find special/masterpiece-worthy about it, and coming up short.
