Easy 5 stars. The music is universal. i'm a brazilian guy and i was totally catch by it. Paul Weller was talking about the english society of late 70's and this is still sense to me being in another country and with another culture. The music speaks for itself.

It may even have clever lyrics or a little, but sonically it didn't touch me. I found it quite weak actually, without soul.
I found it very funny and problematic in some points. Maybe if I were younger I would like it more.
Almost perfect. The kind of album that got me into electronic music. Everything sounds so harmonious or something like that. It seems like the tones were selected with great care. Besides, some parts bring a nostalgic atmosphere.

Easy 5 stars. The music is universal. i'm a brazilian guy and i was totally catch by it. Paul Weller was talking about the english society of late 70's and this is still sense to me being in another country and with another culture. The music speaks for itself.
After knowing several bands from the nineties that sound similar to this one, it's difficult to find anything new or interesting. Maybe if you listen to it a few times. I think that at the time it was released it should have been a great revelation in the alternative scene but today the genre is very saturated. There are good moments like "Girl from Mars". All in all, it's an average album.
On this album, the combination of something aggressive like heavy metal, rhymes and the rhythm of rap sounds very good. the sound impact gives strength to the political content of the lyrics. the atmosphere is set to ignite the listener with rage. If that was the intention, they nailed it.
The album of my life.
They say that hate engages. Here I am doing a negative review of this album. Hearing this only brought me bad feelings. I've never seen anything more generic about this in all of pop music. Nothing rings true in these songs. Everything sounds like a sure formula for success. The only thing true about this is the feeling of heartbreak. Easy music for little girls suffering for love. This singer uses the music market at her pleasure. It's not for nothing that she became who she is in this field.
This album brings me joy, peace, hope, melancholy and sadness. Life should be this balance. Sometimes it misadjusts. The album as a whole has more high points than low or average ones. Even the jams are interesting. You can't expect anything bad from a Beatle, especially in this phase after the group's breakup. George Harrison managed to bring out his creativity and musical diversity that he couldn't achieve with the Beatles. It has support from musicians such as Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and also his former bandmate Ringo Star. All in all, it's a pleasant album to listen to from start to finish.
This is the greatest work ever released in the entire history of the recording industry. There is no other so well crafted. There is not much to say, only to feel.
One of the best musical discoveries I've had in my life. Thanks to Steven Wilson. It sounds so different and original. The way the band works with the guitar sounds and the layers of voices by the great Elizabeth Fraser results in a very pleasant musical atmosphere. It's the type of album that you get involved in listening to from start to finish. Everyone should listen to this album obligatory.
and to think that I didn't like this band when I was younger. I consider this album even better than Use Your Illusion. It has all the elements for a great hard rock album. It's not for nothing that Guns N' Roses is an iconic band in the genre.
This is the best example of what a hardcore band can sound like. Simple, direct and as fast as you can. The music is a reflection of the rebellious youth with no prospects for the future at that time. The fear of a new war can be seen through the lyrics. Finally, the current generation should reflect on this manifestation of hatred against the system. This is what it's really like to be against the system.
If Milton Nascimento or Clube da Esquina as a movement were North American or European, it would be as big as the Beatles. I say this without fear of being wrong. The contribution and artistic quality of this album surpasses the revolutionary feat of the Liverpool quartet in the music industry. Musically speaking this album is much richer than anything released by the Beatles. And I say this knowing that Clube da Esquina was influenced by the British group. As a Brazilian, I have to praise my culture and leave aside the colonized view that only Eurocentric cultural production is of the highest order.
It may even have clever lyrics or a little, but sonically it didn't touch me. I found it quite weak actually, without soul.
One of the greatest discoveries of my life. Everything is very sophisticated for a simple pop band. Everything is very well positioned in each arrangement. Great lyrics. The kind of band that comes up with a great work to mark the history of music.
I found it very funny and problematic in some points. Maybe if I were younger I would like it more.
Country music is not for me.
one of the albums that best represents the sound and spirit of the summer of love.
Apart from a few songs, it's just a generic pop album for people who like to dance.
I remember the first time I heard this album. It had a huge impact. I never thought a rock band could sound like this. Everything is very intelligent, creative, and well-played. Neil Peart is a special case. Any arrangement he puts on the drums is like a brushstroke on a painting by a genius of visual arts.
Maybe I'll listen to this album again. It has a really good atmosphere and very creative arrangements.
it's too much "easy listening radio music" for me.
Very creative even compared to their contemporaries. It's hard to find a band that doesn't sound basic in that San Francisco music scene. As experimental as psychedelic rock is, it's undeniable that this band stands out.
a simply spectacular experimental album.
A typical Brit rock with a touch of experimentalism. A good album. It was maturing the sound of what would become OK Computer.
Almost perfect. The kind of album that got me into electronic music. Everything sounds so harmonious or something like that. It seems like the tones were selected with great care. Besides, some parts bring a nostalgic atmosphere.
I don't know much about rap but I think this album is exactly what hip hop is about.
This band seems to me to be another case of those bands that want to sound different from the rest, distancing themselves from the common pop sound, but end up turning around and sounding like any other indie band.
It's different from what you'd expect from a pop album.
If I were young I would think this album was very good, especially if I was young in the 80s. The album has a polished sound to sell.
This is too sophisticated for a simple pop album. So much creativity. The album is more than just its singles.
Giving this album less than 4 stars is unfair. This album brings together everything good that was being produced at that time. Very diverse in sound: hard, blues, gospel and more. Not to mention the number of fantastic musicians found here. Stephen Stills at this point in his career knew exactly what he wanted and what he was doing. At least that's the impression I got when listening to this wonderful album.
I've given 3 stars to worse albums. It's fun because it brings back that 80s vibe. But it's nothing special.
This album is a great example of when exaggeration is seen in a positive light. The organ solos are incredible. Emerson Lake and Palmer was one of the bands that introduced me to this crazy musical universe that is progressive rock.
DnB or Jungle are types of music that you can't listen to in a domestic environment, for example. The atmosphere created by the sounds and beats are perfect for parties and nightclubs. The repetitions and rhythm are set in a way that makes the listener dance, and I think that's the idea. That said, I'm giving it a 3/5 still because of the DJs' boldness in developing a new genre, because if we take away the inventiveness of the scene, the music often sounds like elevator or department store music. There are some exceptions in this genre, such as Goldie, who did a great job with the album Timeless, but overall, that's it.
I have a very sentimental relationship with this album. It was part of a very important time in my life. Kurt's almost nonsensical lyrics have their own meaning for me.
I would definitely listen to this album again. I don't usually listen to pop music, but this one was very well polished. There are tracks that are impossible to miss.
The eighties were a difficult time for some artists. I like rock, it's my favorite genre, but this album just doesn't work for me.
Unfortunately, this pop music didn't work for me.
I found the band's sound very polished. The arrangements fit together very well. Everything sounds very clear. It doesn't sound as pretentious as other bands of this generation that want to be those strange indie bands. Being Brazilian, I even found the cover of "Minha Menina" by Os Mutantes funny.
One of the best examples of what Brazilian music can be. Rich in musicality and variety of sounds. Many songs from this album are part of the Brazilian collective imagination. It's albums like this that make me proud to be Brazilian.
Political and weird, just the way I wanted a band I was part of to be.
