That fuckin ruled.
Such a great album. I listened to this so many times in high school and college. It holds up so well.

A solid first album to kick things off. Solidifies for me that Santana has one of, if not THE, most distinct tones and playing styles of all the guitar greats. I didn’t realize how prof his early stuff was as I really got to know him during his “Supernatural” days when I was younger.
Didn’t realize how jazzy beastie boys went. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Pretty and mellow. A quick listen

Some gems on there. I liked the back half most.
I understand the influence this had on Gorillaz now
Parachutes will always be my favorite of theirs. Still good, just a close second.
Bop after bop. Isaac (1.5 y/o) is bobbin and dancin along the whole album
Very chill vibes
Groovy and a little heavy.
Classic Queen riffage. Gotta love Brian May’s tone
Always one of my favorites. Takes me back to high school.
I assume people felt about this album the way I feel about Lump when it first came out.
A good, straightforward rock album.
Classic metal
I forgot how quirky it can get at times.
I had never heard of them before, some good synth pop
Solid. I don’t agree with some of Morrissey’s more recent political views.
It’s cool to hear the shift from new wave influences to what became the norm for 3rd wave ska.
Good goth
Can hear the Gorillaz sound peaking in here and there
I can hear some influences for jam bands like OAR?
Bought this one back in high school.
Krautrock jammin
Such a good album. Reminds me of highschool
Nice little acoustic album
Post punk greatness. Some OG metal influence in there as well
Up there for favorite Radiohead album for me.
Sounds like riding around in Uffy’s Celebrity in high school.
Proto Amyl
Not an Aerosmith fan, but it was solid. As far as 70’s rock goes, I tend to look elsewhere.
Solid 60’s rock. Really enjoyable
Classic trip hop.
Lot’s of homophobic slurs. Had to skip a couple tracks because of it
Nile Rogers guitar greatness. Super smooth and funky
Techno classic
Chill 70’s vibes
Nice and funky. Mellow, yet upbeat. I thought that there would be more vocals on the album, but it was mostly instrumental
Electro glory from the height of 2000’s electropop
Soothing.
Exactly what I needed this morning. Good noise rock
Such a great album. Say what you will about Coldplay, this album is fantastic. Reminds me of high school.
So good! Old, 2D Gorillaz and Modern Guilt-era Beck vibes.
That fuckin ruled.
Such a great album. I listened to this so many times in high school and college. It holds up so well.
Steely Dan with an 80’s flavor
Quintessential 2010’s indie rock. Truly encapsulates the vibe of that decade
This album GOES! Somewhat “one note”, but it’s a good note.
Man, that opening baseline always gets me going! Really timeless production. Thoughtful lyrics. Great flow from track to track.
Starts out really strong, but peters out a little bit.
I opted for the Bowie mix. A little bit more fleshed out than the Iggy mix but still has some of the grittiness.
Proto-noise rock. Such an influential sound they pioneered. And I love the drum machine giving it an early industrial feel.
Love those synths
Modern krautrock. Love it!
Loud. Quiet. Loud. The Pixies formula at its finest. Love this album.
Mellow and soothing. Classic 60’s production.
Really modern/timeless rock sounds. Hugely influential for the indie rock sound of the 90’s and 00’s.
The hits hit, but the deep cuts don’t offer too much for me.
The most OG of goth vibes on this one.
Classic d’n’b sound.
Such an underrated art-pop album. I feel like FKA Twigs has been flying under the radar for a while, so it is great to see this album on this list.
Love the synths on this album.
This album is crazy. How have I never heard of this guy before?
Kind of generic dad rock
Very wild, kind of all over the place, in a good way.
Classic 90’s R&B
So many iconic grooves
Porto Viagra Boys
So many hit singles on this album. A really great listen. Incredible debut for the band.
Sounds like Lindsay Knapp’s basement back in high school while we worked on school projects together.
Slinky, cool. Perfect early 2000’s electronic sound.
Sounds like Kyle’s basement.
A great, sparse folk album. Banhart’s voice is singular and outsider at times.
Lots of lowkey sad boy bangers on this one.
The blueprint for Justin Sane. Just a punk and his guitar.
I can see how it would be an influential album, but it didn’t seem groundbreaking enough to be in the top 1001 albums of all time.
People think the mix is crap. I think it’s kind of fitting. Not much bass at all, but it gives the riffs a specific 80’s metal feel.
It took me a minute to appreciate it, but the melodies were really infectious.

Such a great swan song album.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Was greatly influential in my music taste from back in middle school.
R.I.P. Brian Wilson
Great 90’s album I had never heard of. The singing on some of the tracks reminds me of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
I had never listened to a Liz Phair album all the way through, but it definitely influenced a lot of the music I listen to.
Very 90s cool. Interesting mix of sampling, live instrumentation, synthesizers. A little bit jammy, a little bit slinky, a little bit jazzy.
Classic.
This album knows what it’s about.
Straightforward, great grooves.
Say what you want about hair metal, this album RIPS.
Banger after banger. A classic electronic album that any fan of the genre needs to hear.
Sad boy alternative cowboy rock. What else can you ask for on a cold, December morning?
Cool eclectic rock fusing many different styles and influences into a fun, hook-filled listen.
Solid album all around. No disrespect to the Boss, because it is a good album in all respects, just not sure that it is required listening to listen to before you die.
Banger!
Rippin!
