Forget the rack, the Scavenger's Daughter and the manacles if the tower of London had this they would have had way better success torturing people. She can play but her voice makes me want to confess to heresy.
Have not heard this for a long time. My Mom had this album when if first came out and was obsessed with this dude. After his super sweet coming out party my mom was in shock. The rest of us were like yeah, that checks out. Later, I would torment her with Limp Bizkit's version of faith while reminding her how bad her gaydar was. Ahh good times. Anyway, I actually don't mind the album. Some of the lyrics are pushing the boundaries of creepy but over all decent listen.
Much of it sounds like background music for the Discovery Channel show How Its Made.
Some things should stay in the 80s.

What in the actual F@#$. I am so confused. Much of the content is on serious subjects but the music is so random and so horrible that I cant take it serious if tried. I only know that if there is "concept album" in the description I need to be worried.

I can appreciate the influences for later artists and a I enjoyed a few of the songs but overall it's not really my style.

Listened to the two big songs on the album quite a bit but I have never heard the album in its entirety till now. Pretty decent.
There is Bittersweet Symphony followed by a whole bunch of songs that are pretty forgettable. The only thing of note after the first track is the hidden track at the end. Which is a strange mix of chimes and crying baby that just leaves me with more questions. Mainly why?

Guitar town is one of my favorite songs ever. Hillbilly highway is stellar. I wanted one or two more great songs on this album and I would go five stars. The other songs are decent but not anywhere near the title track. Still, solid album.

Third Neal Young album on this journey. Third terrible album. The only highlight here was "Roll another number" the hilarious attempt at an outlaw country song.

I have always loved Merle. I have not heard this album but it was refreshing to hear some deep cuts not just his songs you hear all the time.

Honestly not sure what to think. Definitely different than what I am used to. But some good songs for sure. Might have to give this one another listen down the road.

I am not a fan but from everything I read I am in the minority.
I knew her name but never really listened much to her. Honestly I thought I would like her better and know some of the songs since she was a popular artist. I did not know any of the songs and just did not really feel anything for the whole album.

Might have just been me but I had trouble finding this particular album in one spot so I just listened to his music for about an hour. Let me tell you he has a LOT of music out there to sample from. It really is impressive the volume of music he put out. Looking at his discography on Spotify it seems like he put out around 10 albums a year for decades. I appreciate the work effort but the music is not my style. Obviously I don't know what any of the lyrics mean which will always hamper my score. All in all it was okay.
