Sounds like video game music at the start of the first track. Album is very chill and I normally hate electronic. Love it.

Truly annoying.

Most of the album was nice and would have received 4 stars, but the last track sounded like a child found those random sound buttons on a Cassio. 3 stars.

Some of this is really good, but some of it is just noise.

Human NRG sounds a little like video game music, so I wanted to like it, but the overall vibe of the album is just not for me.

Reminds me a little bit of Imelda May. Very chill, with a retro feel. I like it.

This one has some nostalgia bias from me, but I still love it.

I really like The Who, but I don't personally think this is their best album, besides Behind Blue Eyes.

1000% yes, this is what I've been waiting for. So glad to sit and give this one a listen, I haven't heard the whole album in one go before and loved every minute. Albums like this are why 1001 albums is wonderful.

This may be a bias rating because I used to play this album over and over again, but it feels like an obvious 5 to me. The whole album is already in my music library, and they're just as good now as they were then.

I love the title song, because it's nostalgic, but honestly, the rest of the album is just kind of... eh.

I like the jam sessions, but it doesn't feel like a "must listen" album, even though I really like The Allman Brothers' sound.

This was one of my absolute favorite albums of all time when it came out, and I still adore it. This may be a nostalgia vote, but it gets 5 stars from me. Every single song is amazing.

I missed this one growing up, as I was more into rock at the time, but I love everything about this. The piano, her voice, the 80's structure and sound... all of it is perfection!

The screamo is not for me.

I like some stuff by The Kinks, but this album is kind of annoying, tbh. Especially "Drivin'"... it's grating. Not to mention, half the songs sound exactly the same. Not for me.

The songs themselves sound nice... but it's like I'm trying to listen to something I might like, but someone keeps being obnoxious and covering it up with horrible noise, so I can't even hear what's underneath. I guess that was the point, but... it's not for me.

Like, it's kind of fun and oddly comforting, but it's also just... weird? xD Idk... I THINK I like it? My first instinct is to give it 3 stars because I'm so hot and cold on it, but because it has me so confused about how I feel... I think that deserves a bump to 4. xD

I like this, it sounds like it came from the early to mid 90's, instead of 2008. I'm glad he stuck with that sound instead of trying to modernize it.

Definitely "ran away" from Albatross about halfway through. The sound of the rest gives me a bit of Talking Heads vibes but just... not as good? I'm not sure, I can appreciate the music, and the style of vocals, but I just think the vocals weren't done well enough to work. It quickly just becomes annoying. This is a shame too, because the music without the vocals is quite good. Fav track: Poptones Least fav: Albatross 2.5/5

Some of the songs are not nearly as obnoxious as everything else I've heard from Sonic Youth, but they aren't enough to save this album.

It almost pulled me in, then it just kinda shoved me away again. Not for me, but I can see why someone would enjoy it.

not really a fan of his voice

This one is a no-brainer for me. One of my favs.

I really like some of the songs; I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor has been in my library for a couple years. However, a full album of this sound grates a little, as I'm not usually too into the punk/grunge style. They do a pretty good job at not just being pure noise the whole time, though. 3/5

the album itself isn't bad, but there's a constant, repetitive beat under every song that just gives me a headache after a bit. Individually, I did enjoy some of the songs, though. 3/5

The backing beat on "Oh What a World" reminds me of the title music in the game Papers, Please, which is kind of fun. The album kind of sounds like the soundtrack to an on-stage musical play. Is that a bad thing? I'm really not sure. I don't hate it, but... I also don't think I particularly like it, either. His voice can be quite irritating, especially in "Pretty Things". Best track: Go or Go Ahead Worst track: Pretty Things 2/5

Easiest 5-star on the list

Destiny's Child were iconic, obvi, but after "Nasty Girl" I got the ick big time... It's definitely a product of it's time, but recovering from that cringe was a tough one on this album. Kind of brings the bopping to a screeching halt, and never recovers. 2.5/5

This one surprised me. I really like it. Especially the jazzy parts. Also, the song People has a nice funk to it, while Like Fire gets a bit country. It's an interesting blend of styles, but still cohesive. You really don't know what to expect next, and I love that. Ending with Tall in the Saddle was fun fun fun! Fav tracks: Down to Zero, Love and Affection, Join the Boys, Tall in the Saddle Least fav track: Save Me

It was interesting to see this album after I'd already rated his son's album not that long ago. I loved that one, so I expected to love this one too. I do like this one, and I did enjoy it, but I think his son, Femi Kuti, has a style I vibe with a little more.

So very beautiful and peaceful. Reminds me of Low Roar and Woodkid - some of these would fit right in to the Death Stranding soundtracks. 5/5

I do love music that heavily features piano. This album is gentle, and his voice is lovely.

A lot of this album is quite good, but I did not enjoy the dance-electronica vibes of some of the songs. It would be a 4 without them.

Pretty chill album, didn't like the western twang of Sweet Thang, but the rest was nice.

I like blues sometimes, but this one is very repetitive... it's fine background music, but it's just not very engaging.

Not a fan of Dance This Mess Around, but Rock Lobster is one of my favorites. Overall, the album is exactly the kind of strange, silly fun I expect from The B-52s.

Definitely not a Neil Young fan, most of his albums here I've rated a 2, except for Harvest, which got a 3. The music itself would give this album a 3 or even 4 from me, but Neil's voice ruins everything. Another 2 star from me.

Didn't like the yodeling on Spaced Cowboy, but the rest of it was great.

I've never heard of Chamber Pop before, but I think I love it. This is so chill. I think it would be 5 stars if not for some of the twangy country vibes that I'm not a huge fan of. 4/5

There are songs similar to this that I have nostalgia for because my grandfather had them on a jukebox when I was a kid, and they were silly... I have no such nostalgia for these songs, and so I find it hard to even tolerate them. Definitely not for me.

Some of this I love, some of it I absolutely hate. Sometimes one song has bits I love and bits I hate... that makes it hard to rate.

Earthquake is unexpectedly beautiful, and sets the tone for the whole album, which was really beautiful. Reminds me of Low Roar a little bit. I like it.

I like Led Zeppelin, and I really liked Good Times Bad Times, but the rest of the album isn't as good as their later stuff. Like someone else here said, it feels more like a jam session than fully thought out individual songs.

Immigres/Bitim Rew was fun, Pitche Mi is very chill, with a nice jazzy vibe, and after I was ready to give this album 4 stars. Taaw started to grate a little, and by the time I got to Badou I was kind of over it, so I think smaller doses of this album at a time would have been easier. 3.3/5

This is quintessential 60s psychedelic rock. Somebody to Love and White Rabbit alone, would net this album a 5-star rating. 4.8 just because it would have benefited from more Grace singing, rounded up to 5.

I imagine if I had a fever dream where I was walking through actual Hell, trying every door in a panic, this would be the soundtrack. Maybe that's your thing, but I like actual music. This is stressing me out... I feel like I can SEE this album as it plays, like a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house walkthrough. Sure, it would make a perfect soundtrack for a hell house, but as a listenable album? No. Giving it 2 instead of 1, just because I can so vividly SEE the horror this shit would be backing...

It's okay background music, doesn't really hold my attention, though.

I like grunge, but not a fan of noise rock, usually... this one is kind of in between the two, which makes it hard to rate. I think if it wasn't quite as noisy, I would have given it a 4, but overall, I think it's a 3.4.

I would give it a 5 just for Sultans, but the rest of the songs are like a 3, so the album gets a 4.

There are parts of this that are super interesting, but the dude's voice isn't one of them. Makes me think of a random drunk dude getting all in my space being gross... gave me the ick. Really not a fan of live albums. I really thought I liked The Who more than I apparently do, because I haven't given any of their albums here more than a 3. I think they just have some REALLY good songs that I love, but they also have a lot of filler that doesn't really stand out. i really dislike country music

Not into punk, but I'm bumping it up from 1 to 2 stars just because it's women, and we need a lot more of that on this list. Really hated the screaming on Shoplifting, though. Fav Track: Instant Hit

I can't help but enjoy Beastie Boys... they're always so much fun. This album is definitely my fav of theirs, that I've heard.

Soft Machine was cool, Damaged People wasn't terrible, but the rest of this album is just annoying, like the majority of electronic music in general. 2/5

I LOVE 80s/90s Madonna. Easy 5 star for me.

I like Jazz, and I like Miles Davis.... but, man does this cacophony of noise make my head hurt. Sounds more like a whole album of them warming up/tuning their instruments.

I would have given this 5 for Sympathy for The Devil, but after that, it kinda derails into annoying country, which I don't love. Street Fighting Man was fine, then right back to the annoying.

I hated Sonic Youth's older albums, but this one isn't so bad. Less full on punk, which makes it more tolerable for me.

Has a pretty chill lofi feeling throughout, which is pretty much the only electronic music I don't hate. Mostly good background music for doing other things, but there are still a lot of drum and base feeling songs, which give me a headache, so... eh. 2/5

3.5/5 I like vocal jazz, I like bossa nova... this is definitely an interesting listen with those influences, but it's pretty unique to anything else I've heard. It does drag on a bit, though. Fav track: Nova Estação

Had to skip the first track because it was too annoying, but the second track gave me a reason not to skip the whole album... until that drawn out note at the end. Honestly, this album, for me, bounces between something I might vibe with, and something that is just irritating. That makes it uncomfy to listen to.

You can express your anger at being marginalized without attacking other marginalized groups. I would have given this album a 4 if not for the blatant misogyny. Guess it's always been easy to lash out at women for the deeds of other men.

Lead singer reminds me a little bit of Grace Slick singing White Rabbit. Very cool to hear, and I bet they were influenced by her. Love women rocking out.
