This was very unique, and kind of awesome. The only way it is that, though, is knowing that Zorn and friends went in to record a jazz album as if it was a hardcore album. Otherwise, this is just a bunch of noise.

This album could literally be Wouldn’t It Be Nice and God Only Knows, and it would STILL be a 5 star, perfect album. The other songs are just a cherry on top.

Great groove, but not my kind of genre. Overall a good listen though! Excellent merge of jazz and funk
Despite Kanye’s obvious problems (which will be different depending on when you’re reading this), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has some phenomenal beats, samples, and writing. It’s hard to argue that songs like “Power” and “All of the Lights” aren’t catchy and enjoyable for even people that don’t like rap/hip-hop, and while the second half of the album suffers a little from being less sonically memorable, the writing is still pretty great, and this album will really stand as a testament to Kanye’s talent for making music (and that’s all I’ve got to say about that).
Probably one of the greatest Christmas albums ever made, but therein is the problem, it's a Christmas album. There's only about a 1 month period you're going to listen to it (also, Phil Spector's message on the last track has NOT aged well). But, the recordings are iconic, the talent is amazing, and it's not truly Christmas season until you hear Darlene Love belting out Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).
At Fillmore East is a great album, but the Deluxe Version with the full concert(s) is the true perfect album that everyone should hear before they die.
Didn’t think I’d like this, but it’s surprisingly peaceful.
There’s some great songs in here, but this is WAY too long with way too many not-great songs.
The quintessential example of Billy Corgan’s smugness and brilliance, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is like The White Album. It’s too long for its own good, and for every good song, there’s 2-4 meh-songs. Of course, those “good” songs are actually GREAT songs which helps make up some of the shortcomings.
This is really like a 3 star album, in my opinion, but Faith is a solid 5-star song, and Father Figure is like a 4, so it balances it out.
Look, Vol. 4 isn’t a bad album. It just followed three of the greatest albums ever made in a row.
It sucks that Ryan Adams is such a terrible person, and kind of crazy now, because his older solo and Whiskeytown stuff are just amazing.
If anything, this album clearly demonstrates how Madonna has some insight into where music and culture are going before they get there.
Once again, it’s a shame Ryan Adams is kind of an terrible person, because his early albums and Whiskeytown are so great.
