Bluesy and easy to listen to.
Way too much synthesizer drum machine for me
WTF?! Sounded like country music to me.
🥱
Yee haw, howdy howdy, yuck
This has to be a joke!?
Since I'm now a grandfather, I guess I'll have to use this album as "granny bait." Outstanding...every track!
Haha, I struggled with the only song written by The Stones themselves.
I felt like a zombie just gazing at my shoes. Not for me, dog.
Well, I at least found it to be very creative hip-hop.
My wife hates his masaganistiic lyrics...I love his beats.
I thought Willie's voice/style worked well covering these classics.
Stunning! Prince was an absolute genius.
It was like a modern version of a jazz experience. I found the music deep and interesting. Also, the sub-bass was well used
It's difference but it's not horrible like I was expecting.
Is there a half star option?
I guess this is why I missed this decade for music. Way too poppie for me
I hear chaotic dueling saxophones and an occasional hint of a tune
The drummer is the star in my book. Also, I feel that there is quite a bit of musical creativity that is, unfortunately, overwhelmed by the screammo.
I felt like I was in a pub singing Irish drinking songs with folks who'd had one too many pints.
3 hours of strangeness.
It's just so dated.
This better than most punk, however it's just background music to me.
How do I describe auditory torture? Listening to this two hours of "a pickin' and a strummin' "
This is just so musically interesting! The styles on the tracks have great diversity.
Very soulful and has aged well for an 80s album.
Not a typical Greorge Clinton sound. It felt more like background music.
He sounds like a creepy crooner to me.
Background music with a creepy whispering voice
I found this to be musically boring.
My word...Ghosteen sounded like a ghost-town. Yawn!
The vocalist(s) remind me of untrained garage band singers. Too often they are out of tune. They are musically interesting, however.
They received a score boost because Spike from Notting Hill was once a member
All of the country twang songs get a 2 for me. There are some more progressive song that brought the score up.
Tom Waits is just cool. Every time I listen to him I can imagine myself at a a table in a small club with a drink in my hand digging his vibe.
I got that warm and fuzzy feeling from childhood when I watched western movies.
Every track sounds the same:/ Not for me, dog.
Some good oldies
Sounded like a band of high school boys from the 60s playing in someone's parents garage
Overly monotonistic sound.
The song frankie sounded like a horror movie in my ears!
Anglo-Saxon gangster rape. I found it fun and unique.
This is proof that I could have been a singer song writer
I fully enjoyed the music, but the album is just too damn long.
Boring!
Wow, this group really hated women. Is that why they were included on this list?
Painful! Lots of out of tune yelling.
Too tinny for me. There was not enough middle and base tone to help me to feel the power of the music.
I gave this a 5 because I listened to it over the course of 5 days. Trying to listen to this in one sitting would have dropped the score to a 3.The album is way too long for that.
Silly and quirky.
I score this a 4 for the bluesy tracks and a 1.5 for the hillbilly crud.
I was so bored 😴
Not my cup of tea.
Zzzzzzzzzz
I can't believe that I gave it this score with the word 'country' associated to it.
So much better that I expected
I really liked this album's sultry tracks. Especially "wear you out"
He's so damned weird! But he does have creativity...I hate scoring this.
I can't get past his racist statements and views.
This album is proof that the music industry does not discriminate against artist who can't hold a tune.
Pickin', strummin', knee slappin' and moonshine juggin'
