Kanye really is the litmus test of your ability to separate art from artist, and in these reviews one can plainly see that the Reddit crowd that makes up a large part of this project's audience is unable to do so, even doing so willfully and defiantly. Were you this smugly judgmental when Public Enemy's album popped up here? Is it really less absurd to support the utterly racist Nation of Islam? Kanye has obviously had some kind of mental breakdown or general mental health issue. The views he has uttered are so over the top that they have become comical - I can't begin to understand how people can (still) take him seriously and work themselves up in such a rage about the inclusion of his albums. Speaking of, I am biased towards this album. Being a metalhead in my youth, this album was what made 19 year-old me start appreciating rap music; from here on, I went on to discover a world I had willfully ignored in my teens. I still mostly dislike Kanye's earlier and later albums, but Yeezus has a collection of bombastic, heavy, viscerally memorable beats which have stuck with me. I don't care about lyrics that much - not being a native speaker helps tuning them out, I think - but whenever I pay attention to them, they are either smart, funny, disgusting or just absurd. Still, the production clearly is what matters here, and the art of Kanye's sampling, beats and composition make this a 5/5 album for me - if only barely.

400 albums in, this is the first ever review I'm writing. So far, no album has surprised me as much as this one. Jazzy Rock? Incredible. Loved it. Edit: I think you can see why I've not written any reviews before if *this* is all the creativity that has built up over the the last 400 days

God, this sucks. I think being a German speaker actually makes this a worse experience.

A FIVE MINUTE meandering track around listing place names in Louisiana (I think, not a native) her ex or whatever used to drive to like there is some significant symbollogy or complex trauma behind them only to then reveal that - and this might sound utterly incredible to you, dear reader - he goes there because he likes it. Why even write songs if you are so utterly devoid of any meaningful thing to say. Music as empty, superficial and meaningless as its lyrics

This album is so boring that I pondered hurting myself a little just to escape its masturbatory dullness. By the way, I recommend reading their Spotify bio - you can really picture Green Gartside trying to suck himself off after writing each line. Amazing!

I love the 1001 Albums Generator (albeit few of its albums, but that really isn't the creator's fault). What I really don't like about it is how zeitgeisty its rating system is (by necessity). Apart from the odd Kanye album, this album here really is the perfect example - 3.1 isn't a catastrophic rating, but this album would have a much higher rating if it had a different performer. Sure, let's voice your displeasure about some idiotic thing Clapton said in 2021 by review bombing this 1974 album. You sure showed him, bud, I'm positive the pandemic will stop out of sheer gratitude any day now. It's a good album, shame that it will forever remain in the vast sea of 3.1x on this website because people - especially the morons with the top-rated reviews - used it the most in 2021.

Why the fuck does this list have FIVE Sonic Youth albums and not a single Black or Death Metal record? Not even a Queens of the Stone Age album! Your taste in music sucks, Dimery.
