This was a nice surprise of an album. It is like if you took songs by Ennio Morricone, John Barry, and other 60s and 70s and made a Brit-pop album out of them.
Good album, though something about it weirdly made me want to listen to Alan Parsons Project.
This is probably my least favorite of the “Big 6” Ozzy albums, but it’s still very good, and has “Supernaut,” which is outstanding.
A seminal, important album for both rock and The Who, though I’d rather listen to virtually any other Moon-era Who album over this. The studio version of Tommy cannot compare to any of the late 60s/early 70s live versions that eventually got released.
Close your eyes, and picture yourself on a yacht, where everyone there looks like either The Captain or Tennille. The soft, jazz-rock sounds of music completes this backdrop, and are the sounds of Steely Dan’s Aja.
An all-time great album. The perfect thing for when you have a hangover but still want to listen to music.
Words cannot adequately express the disappointment I felt being a huge fan of The Jam, and then hearing The Style Council for the first time. That said, taken as it’s own thing, it’s not bad.
